This is currently the only allbirds store in San diego. Store has a decent selection and is clean and bright. You can do online returns here too. The best part though is probably being able to actually try on the shoes and size of before purchasing anything. Sales such as 40% off can be pretty good. read more

We were instantly hooked, not just by the incredible comfort of their shoes but also by the company's commitment to carbon-neutral footwear, making them our go-to choice for day to day wear. Unfortunately, our recent experiences at this location have been disappointing. The poor customer service left us feeling unwelcome and ignored, which was a stark contrast to what we've come to expect at their other locations. Comfortable, breathable, and sustainable shoes?!? That's the only thing you'll find here! I'm lucky I somehow came across Allbirds and I'm glad I did! Looking online one day for some comfortable flats for work, there were so many options online! Ugh... for something I want to wear all the time, these are shoes I wanted to try on first! Luckily enough, they had a location in La Jolla! I was not sure at first since all my flats were made of some sort of man made materials. They wouldn't ever be super comfortable at first and then they would stretch, slip and basically become so uncomfortable to wear because you're usually wearing them without socks. These are so different! Comfortable from the get go, they maintain their shape, and stretch with your feet! The best part... they are breathable and washable! A bit on the expensive side for flats, the women's Tree Breezers are $100 a pair. Worth every penny! I was sold after running around New York for a week where all you do is walk everywhere! They held up well! Allbirds are simple in design and 100% comfortable! They have shoes for both men and women. Try them and don't like them? They have a 30 day return policy too! I've been wanting Allbirds since they launched and back then they only had 1 model and didn't ship to Canada. So finally when I was in the area for a weekend getaway this was on my must visit list. The surrounding mall and shop area is beautiful, this Allbirds is nicely located, open concept with wall to wall shoes, some apparel and accessories. I opted for their original wool sneaker, tried them on and had no issues. They seem to carry all sizes in the back, staff is friendly but seems like there was a shortage of employees or perhaps they were not as responsive as they could have been. I had to wait a short while to get my size. The only thing I wished was for this store to have more selection of colors or limited edition models. I remember over the years seing a lot of nice pastel colors for example but in store they only had a couple of the basic neutral colors when it came to the wool shoe. Not many sales either. In all, this is the ideal place to try them on if you were weary about buying Allbirds online, blindy. I'm in between sizes and had to size up for this. read more

Located at 2nd floor of UTC...staff was friendly and helpful. Me and my boyfriend wanted to buy these in a while. Glad I got to come in to try shoes on. I like touching the materials. The original wool runner shoes are a little hot for San Diego (In winter ok), even though that was what I wanted to buy. I bought the newer tree runners with eucalyptus fabric putter and wool bottom inner lining instead because they felt cooler. My tree runner came in a San Diego store special coloring which is beige with turquoise or orange extra laces. Fit: I wear between size 8.5 to 9 and bought the 9 because they only come in whole number sizes. I have bunions, low profile (flat in y direction), but wide (in x direction) feet. The fabric is great for bunions because it doesn't add pressure to it. Super comfy, the soles are really flexible. I want to get more colors! I'm a pronator and there isn't a lot of support to help correct rolling out. For casual walking, they work well. read more

Unfortunately, I received some very disheartening news today regarding AllBirds. My wife, who has not ordered any Allbirds for six years just purchased two pairs of shoes, and they were too tight on her toes therefore she returned them. She received an email that her order was "flagged" and she subsequently received an email that stated the following: --------------------- Hi xxxxxxx, This message is regarding your return for order 64xxxxxxxx We apologize for any confusion or frustration this may have caused. Our records indicate that your return request has been flagged. As a result, our system has automatically voided your request, as is in line with our return policy. At this time, we are unable to override this decision. For more information about our policies, please review our Terms and Conditions. ------------------- My wife subsequently called AllBirds customer service and they told her that because our household has had a number of returns that her order is not eligible for return. My wife has not ordered AllBirds shoes for over six years and she's being told that she's not able to return her shoes because our household has returned too many shoes?! I have exactly 10 pairs of AllBirds shoes at this time, making this the primary brand of shoes that I own and wear (see photo below showing proof of all of the Allbirds I currently own). Yes, I often times order three pairs of shoes because I'm unsure on the color and fit and often times when I order three pairs of shoes I will return one and keep two, even though I was only planning on keeping one pair. This is absolutely and wholeheartedly absurd that Allbirds would be flagging our orders due to excess returns and refusing to return my wife's unworn shoes! In fact, we just ordered two more pairs of slippers from AllBirds two days ago as Christmas presents for both of our fathers. Every time I have returned Allbirds' shoes, they have never been worn outside, and I simply have worn them around the house to get a feel for them to see if I like them and if they are comfortable. Every pair of returned shoes has been in perfect condition without any evidence of wear and absolutely never worn outside. I can tell Allbirds right now that I am completely DONE with AllBirds and I will be giving ZERO further business to this company. I am so furious given the amount of money that I have invested in this company and this is the end result of that commitment to Allbirds. I will also be telling all of my friends and family who also purchase Allbirds about this experience and encourage them to discontinue further support of AllBirds.  I have nothing further to say other than I am so disappointed to the fact that I want to throw all of my Allbirds away. I detailed everything above to Allbirds' customer service and they neglected to even respond. I warn other Allbirds customers of this potential outcome if you buy shoes from this company. read more

I first found Allbirds back when they were only online and had just one shoe design. I tried that shoe and liked it, but my feet are sweaty and the wool was just too hot for me. But even back then I was impressed by the easy returns for already worn shoes. Fast forward to this year and I saw online ads for some nice looking shoes made from eucalyptus. Turns out, they were Allbirds. And Allbirds now had physical stores! I've been waiting for the new San Diego store to open ever since. They did a few weeks ago, and I finally got to visit. I was very excited to see the eucalyptus shoes in person. The colors I like best are online-only, but it was great to test the design for size and comfort. This store is dealing with the pandemic well. The front opens, so it's less enclosed than most shops. Someone meets you at the door and assigns you a place for trying things on. All the shoes are sanitized after you wear them. I don't normal review retail, but everyone working here was so darn nice. This has to be a stressful time for them, but you never would have known it from the friendly conversation. Thanks, Allbirds staff! read more

So, I got a pair of the Tree Dashers 2 for my birthday. My sister got them for me and wasn't sure about my size , so she ended up get me one size up. Not knowing how AllBirds size, I thought they were too big. O decided to go into the store. First impressions: such a clean and well kept store. Authentically pleasing and very relaxing to be in there. Just becareful when sitting in the wooden carved chairs, they tend to tilt(I almost fell off). Lauren, who helped me, was with a customer already. After she was done with said customer, she apologetically came up to me and said she was sorry for making me wait so long. I said it was no problem at all. Told her about my dilemma about my shoes, and she told me to put them on first. She was able to spot the problem right away...they were to small!. She let me know that I needed to give my big toe enough space so I wouldn't ruin the upper mesh, and that it would be more comfortable because of the width of my foot. Boom! She was right! She even convinced me to stay with the colorway my sister got(gum and blue I think), and not to get more neutral colors like black and gray, like most guys get. So note to customers wanting to get a pair of All Birds, go a size up. They can run smaller, depending on your foot. But all in all, A+++ on my experience and customer service here. Had such a poor experience here last weekend! Went to buy a new pair of Allbirds (actually was wearing a pair at the time too) and were turned away due to the store having a waitlist, even though it was completely empty at the time! We added our name to the waitlist and were told we'd get a text in about an hour... close to 2 hours later we still hadn't gotten a text so we returned to see where we were at on the list, the man working was very rude and said we'd been texted 40 minutes ago and had "missed our opportunity"... we never even got a message in the first place! Had a pleasant experience coming into the Allbirds store. I had bought my first pair of Allbirds online and needed a new pair so I went into this location as it is the only one in San Diego. I'm not a big fan of the UTC mall because I don't really feel welcomed in many of the stores I go into but my experience was great. I didn't get her name, but the sales associate greeted me and helped in trying on some shoes. I knew what I wanted so it was a quick in and out trip but she helped me and made my experience great. Loved the shoes, super comfortable! That's why it pains me to give a 1 star review. After just 2 months of use, my tree runners ripped. I Didn't use them for running. I wore them like a regular pair of shoes and they just didn't hold up. I took them to the Allbirds store in LaJolla and they were quick to remind me that it had been over a month so they cannot do anything for me. I really wish I was still a fan but for $100+ I expected the shoe to last longer than 2 months. Not sustainable in my opinion. read more
