My six-month-old son had to undergo open-heart surgery at a children's hospital in the Bay Area, where there were no issues with his insurance during his stay. Afterward, he had follow-up appointments with his cardiologist, and there were no problems with insurance verification. However, for his pediatrician the office began saying he couldn't be seen for his follow-up due to a lack of insurance coverage. I contacted the insurance company, and they confirmed he was covered. When the insurance called the office, the front desk staff insisted they couldn't rely on what the insurance said over the phone and had to go by their internal system. This was incredibly frustrating. For over a month and a half, I went back and forth with the office and my insurance to get my son seen. After yet another call, I asked to speak with a supervisor. The front desk staff then admitted they had been looking at the information incorrectly and said my son could be seen. I pressed for a supervisor because I felt the situation was unacceptable, especially since it had been over a month since his surgery. The supervisor acknowledged that the office should have listened to the insurance provider and assured me the issue was resolved. However, when I later tried to book an appointment for my daughter, I was informed within 15 minutes that she couldn't be seen due to insurance issues. I explained that I had just navigated this with my son and that the insurance was valid. The staff then mentioned that verification needed to be done for each child separately, adding to the confusion. Overall, the front desk's handling of appointment booking and insurance verification has been unprofessional, unhelpful, and at times rude. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, especially when it comes to my children's health care needs. It's so frustrating when now you have to take your child who is ill and wait in an ER just to be seen when she should of been seen by her pediatrician this office needs to do better

Hands down their staff is very sweet, educated, comforting to your child and we LOVE LOVE LOVE them. They are ON TIME, which is so important when you have a sick baby or working and taking in your baby to get checked. The way Dr Ostrea goes out of her way to make sure your questions are answered and the way she treated our daughter when she was going through a tough fever was beyond my expectations. I hope she doesn't retire anytime soon.

I love them!

My son was born with jaundice and thanks to her quick assessment and treatment, we were able to leave the hospital on time with our baby. In addition to daily visits, she even personally called to see how we were doing. Dr. Lin takes the time to explain the reasoning behind treatments. I appreciate that she explains what to expect with a newborn. As a first time mama, she has alleviated many of my worries and concerns without making me feel silly. In addition, she seems to take a genuine interest in how both my husband and I are doing. Unfortunately, my family has had to relocate. I sorely miss Dr. Lin.

She is the best not only in Modesto but on entire planet. I have never seen a Dr. like her so passionate, so knowledgeable, so smart, so helpful, listening and quick in follow-up. She always connect with us and take our issues as her own kids issues and gives the best advice and treatment. She does not limit just to medical treatment but also help with mental and any other issues. One of example, my 3 months old born during covid developed rashes around diaper area. I tried Nystatin all other things nothing works. I asked her to personally see her as on video things are not so clear, even it was covid she had us in and as soon as saw her said they are some food allergy rashes not diaper rashes. She immediately asked me to stop wheat, tomatos and dairy. She ordered blood work and she came out Celiac. Another example, we moved out of town for 2 years and my son was very small out of chart for wt and height. We were at Kaiser and during those two yrs I have been complaining kaiser he is very small being 4T wears 2T. NO action. When we moved back under Dr. Brouard at Sutter she took it seriously and order blood work and found my son is celiac too and Gluten was hampering his growth. We stopped gluten and just in one year he put on 20lbs from 28 lb to 48lb. He is 6 now and looks like 6yr old kids. We are so thankful to her. She is the Terrific Dr. and an angel.

She is one of the reasons we were successful at nursing. I often get a response to any email inquiries the same day. One time Dr. Brouard called us personally to respond. She is very patient. The office staff are all great. Same day appointments are easy to get. The waiting room is fun and there is a separate well child room. I wish the vaccination room was more warm and inviting.
