The staff had a lot going on guiding and checking in groups to their resort and getting ready for their Oktoberfest party they were hosting, they absolutely had all justification to turn us away but they didn't! They gave us a time frame to show up and they totally delivered and that's what earned them 5 stars). They were already guiding a group through so we just tagged along at the back end. The whole experience is pretty entertaining, they had the group working together (some were helping catch the person zipping, some helping un-harness, some helping move a platform used to get folks off the line), it was a pretty clever system and it helped move things along quickly and keep people involved. Anyways, my husband and I were debating all week wondering if it would be worth it ($25 for one ride) and the answer is... YES! 900 feet long, you end up going about 45 mph, and it's not a gradual 45. Once you step off the platform you drop pretty quick! People weighing 60-250lbs can ride and the guides are great about safety but flexibility. It doesn't take an incredibly long time (we got done in an hour and only because we waited for the group to finish) but it may be different for others. Overall, I was so happy we went and that the staff let us come. The staff was awesome, the line was fun, the pricing fair.

The drive over to the start of our day trip was pleasant in an air conditioned van and the guide driving us pointed out baby deer and an eagle's nest which was awesome. The canoeing day itself was beautiful and the trip was just the right length for us. There were four adults in our group-- I think with kids you would want to ask for a closer drop off point because it was a LOT of paddling. The canoes were nice and they helped us carry them down to the launch point and gave us a run down of the rapids we would pass which was helpful to avoid overly shallow or rocky areas. We were the only ones canoeing that day which was so nice! I would love to do this again in the fall when the leaves are changing!

We opted for sledding on the smaller hill for our children (all of who enjoyed themselves immensely ). Sleds are provided and there's a conveyer they can ride on to return to the top of the hill. Sledding was reasonably priced. The facility was clean and all staff we interacted with were kind and informative. While sledding we discovered we were permitted to take the conveyer to the top of the mountain and walk back down. The view and sunset were stunning and there were very few people around as students hadn't returned to campus. If returning, we would likely have encouraged our sledders to wear long sleeves/ pants for the few (and minor) turf burns.

Great setup if you're interested in tubing without all the hassle that other tubing businesses…read morerequire such as safety classes or life jackets, etc. $ cash to park, but accepts credit cards/debit cards to pay for tubing. Reasonable prices to tube and they offer a tube for cooler's. They have a small store where you can buy soda's, ice cream, and snacks. You can leave your cooler at the landing spot and they have grills set up there where they'll provide the charcoal and light the grill for you. Park, pay the tubing fee, take your receipt to pick up your tube's. They'll hold your driver's license and you can hang your keys at the gate. The River is clean and clear! It can take a good hour to get down to the landing spot or you can hang out in the river and relax. There's two landing spots. The first one is before the small rapids and that's where the grills are located. The second landing is shortly after the rapids. If you get out after the rapids you'll have to walk a short distance to the first landing where you can enjoy a picnic or grill out before boarding the buses to return to home base. Staff are professional and friendly! There's two bathrooms and a shower at home base where you can cleanup or change clothes. I've been three times and I've enjoyed each time. When the River is low the water depth is up to your knee in most place's and can go up to your waist in a few places. The depth of the River after the rapids is what I'd say requires swimming in some areas. If you can't swim or aren't wearing a life jacket I wouldn't go down the rapids. Their season goes until the end of September and during September they're only open on the weekends. They open at 10:00 a.m.

We also weren't sure when we would be stopping, so we didn't have water with us for quite a while... we were definitely the last rafting company to stop for lunch, the moral was getting low. Even our guide mentioned something about not knowing when we would stop. Our guide seemed fairly new, but the river wasn't overly intense, and we never felt truly unsafe. There were a couple of moments that made us a little nervous, but overall the rafting itself was SO much fun. One thing that definitely affected the experience was some of the other guests. Unfortunately, you can't control people's manners, and there were a few who were pretty rude and inconsiderate, especially at lunch. It was supposed to be ladies first, but we watched people cut the line and take huge amounts of food for themselves and their husbands. It was honestly pretty frustrating to watch and took a little of the fun out of that part of the day. That said, we had a blast and would absolutely recommend giving it a try! The take-out location was well-marked and they drove down to pick us up and ferry us back to our car as soon as we called. We had a great day, and will surely go back. If you go, be aware it's a no-frills operation. Little more than a shack in a pasture and a rattletrap van. No changing facility and no running water. It's not a place for lodge-pampering, but you can't beat it for a family-friendly, unplugged day outside.
