One of the better breweries in PGH. They have a little big of everything but I tend to go for "pale & hoppy" as well as "pale & sour" varieties, and there were more than enough on tap to satiate me. Space was small but service was freindly. A major highlight for me was the New Mexican-style Mexican food truck parked outside! read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in here for drinks on a Friday evening. I've driven by this brewery but never stopped in before. We arrived, ordered drinks, and was able to find a table easily. The space looks small on the outside but it is surprisingly roomy with an upstairs and outdoor area. The service was great as well. Oh my GOATness!! I was delighted to meet the stars of Allegheny GoatScape on my recent trip to Allegheny City Brewing. I'm very grateful they exist to keep the knotweed and other invasive plants in check throughout our beautiful city. They helped me discover that I don't share their love of Knotweed--Goatface, the knotweed-inspired farmhouse ale that was brewed in collaboration with the goats, was a bit too...earthy...for me. The ACBEeZ honey amber ale and the Mexican Vacation lager with lime were much more palatable. See you on the trails, goat friends! read more

I've been to ACB many times over the years, but I hadn't been since they moved into their new location, but I'm sure glad I did on this day in particular. I was pleasantly surprised at how well of a job they did in the construction of it in all regards. I've always been a huge fan of their beers, but their new space is spectacular in every single way possible and makes enjoying their beers that much more pleasurable. Love the laid back atmosphere of a neighborhood brewery. This place is super dog friendly (be sure to check out the dog wall with photos of all of the cuties). There is a courtyard for people to enjoy drinks outside as well as an upstairs seating area. Check their schedule as there are always yummy food trucks out back in the alley. The beer selection had a little bit for everyone including NA options for those looking for that type of choice. The staff was super friendly and answered all of our questions. I went to the Grand Opening at their new Location on E. Ohio St and was extremely impressed. I had been to Summer music happenings at this new location, but the new building exceeds my wildest imagination. There's music on the lawn, and it flows naturally into the taproom, and there's an even cooler space upstairs. There's a food truck parked in the back. A small stage rounds out the lawn area, and yes, this will be the best place to hear Bluegrass. A brewery should be about the beer, and I have to report their beers are outstanding. The unquantifiable element is the hip vibe. Very cool people, beautiful dogs, and you really should experience this for yourself. read more

Really great brewery with both indoor and outdoor areas. Indoors you can find ample seating on two floors, a collection of board games, and a painting station to keep the kids occupied. Outdoors they have a fire pit and a complementary hot chocolate station on colder nights. This place is very dog friendly as well - they have dog treats available at the bar. In addition to their wonderful beers, they also have cocktails and cider on tap. Great place to hang out with friends or grab a drink before heading to dinner. read more

This was the third brewery we visited on the North Side. This is one of the older breweries in the area. It's located on street with more businesses and foot traffic, so it was the busiest brewery that we visited. Big selection and nice variety. I opted for a Kolsch. Well executed. The inside has a mini beer hall feel to it. The outside has a stove fire and Adirondack chairs give it more of a campsite vibe. Service was quick. read more

It's been a while since we visited the original location, which is said to be just 75 steps behind the new building. This is our second visit to the new location and many more to come. As someone who has been to hundreds of breweries, I can confidently say this place stands out with its unique creativity. The front entrance features a gate that gets locked at night, giving it an almost palace-like feel. The seating around the top and side areas, as well as the main entrance, is well-designed. On our visits, a food truck was usually parked behind the building, which is a nice touch. It's a great spot to start your pre-Steelers game festivities, especially if you park on the north side. Upon entering, you're greeted by a beautiful entrance with a dog walk to the right, showcasing photos of the owners and patrons. The dog-friendly atmosphere is fantastic. To the left, you'll find board games as you move forward to a large bar area, with multiple side exits leading to outdoor seating. The setup and beers here are extraordinary--this might just be my new favorite brewery. Now, onto the beers. They currently have 13 on draft, along with wine from @pghwinery , cider from @arsenalcider , and two mixed drinks: Stateside Vodka Soda and Goodlander Mango Mojito.I sampled 8 of the 13 beers: - **Woo**: 6.5% ABV, hazy IPA with secret hops. Good, though not overly juicy. - **Oceanic Hazy IPA**: 6.5% ABV, hazy IPA with Citra, Galaxy, and Motueka hops. Excellent and fruit-forward. - **Lil Awervy Petite Hazy**: 4% ABV, IPA with McKenzie & Citra hops. A light, satisfying hazy. - **Pineapple Express**: 6.5% ABV, hazy IPA with pineapple puree. Great pineapple flavor without being overwhelming. - **Breezy Rice Lager**: 5% ABV, Japanese-style lager with jasmine. Light and refreshing. - **Electric T**: 5% ABV, Moroccan Mint Green Tea. Unique and enjoyable. - **510 Pale Ale**: 5.10% ABV, traditional American Pale Ale. A classic favorite. - **Hudy Polish Lager**: 4.9% ABV, light lager with Lubelski hops. Superb; would have loved it in a 4-pack, but it's only available in growlers. All of these beers were good but my faves were oceanic, 510, pineapple & Kolsch. this new place & plan to visit often. Checked out Allegheny City Brewing for their "Mac Miller Day" event & was not disappointed! The taproom released their new beer "most dope" (a perfect summer hazy IPA) & had Mac Miller playing all evening out in the beer garden. Because ACB doesn't serve food, they have rotating local food vendors & tonight it was Smoked Out Jefe. I couldn't have been happier with not only the vendor's food (spicy, smoky soul food), but his service & personality set the vibe for the evening. We enjoyed several different beers on tap (some highlights include "most dope", "open parachute", & "mexican vacation") out in the beer garden under the twinkle lights in adirondack chairs, and I will definitely be back for summer nights to try more & play cornhole! One of the best breweries to visit out there! The new location somehow keeps the cozy small-space charm of the previous, but allowing more people to enjoy it at once. Everyone here is seriously the best, and has adopted our dog as one of their own as well! (She pulls us here alllllll the time, twist our arms!) The newly opened location for ACBC looks great and still has the wonderful community feeling of the last house. I like their beers, and enjoy that they have some nonalcoholic options as well. The newly redesigned space has outdoor seatings on the upstairs patio, cozy, indoor seating at big wooden tables, and outdoor space for kids and dogs to run around. They have a food truck pretty much daily, and they are usually pretty darn good ! read more

Visited here recently with a friend and loved how quirky this little brewery is. Food trucks rotate every week and you can eat your order in the tasting room. I had a flight -- the Nancy B cookie stout is definitely a must try and I also loved their berry sour. There are also six-packs to go. I'd love to come back in the summer time and sit outside. read more

Came across this brewery while we were exploring the north side and enjoy the brews. They have outside seating and limited indoor seating. It doesn't look like you're typical brewery and would be easy to miss! My husband got the Adrift (red ale) and he also tried the ol one flip cream ale. He liked the lightness of the cream ale over the red ale. The red ale had a smooth finish but was a little more hoppy. I tried the Birds of paradise and the Starlake Peach Wheat. I liked both but with the Starlake Peach Wheat had more peach flavor to it. There is paid public parking next door although on the weekends (non-game) it appears you can park for free. read more

When we were out in Pittsburgh, Wifey and I knew we'd have a lot of time to ourselves (my son was participating in a regional chorus event) and one of the things we wanted to do was the City Brew Tour. What better way to discover a city's great beers that having a beer expert drive you around in a small bus to four breweries and talking about the breweries, their brewing processes and tasting great beer...oh, and add in a tasty meal. Beer bliss! Allegheny City was our last stop on the tour and, though small, was a really fun place that was dog-friendly...always a plus in my book. As with our first four stops I wasn't keeping perfect track of whet we were trying, but I remember not liking a couple I tried here. I'm not an IPA guy and I know we had an IPA and also the cider and I didn't love them. I also had one of the Belgian Tripels and if I remember correctly it was almost like a sour- wasn't bad, I just wasn't expecting it. I'm sure they've got some great beers here, I just didn't have one that screamed 'excellent!' I still loved the place and it was a great place to finish the evening. A must stop if you are touring local breweries in Pittsburgh. We just happened to walk into a full place that was hosting two dog parties. We were very lucky to have two stools open at the short end of bar. We nestled in for awesome beers and a friendly group. First time trying this brewery. The staff was helpful and let us try a few of the beers and it was fun to sample all their different brews. The space inside is rather small - there's seating, but it would be tight on a rainy/cold day. They had picnic tables just outside the brewery and if you walk through the public parking lot there's a big beer garden that faces E. Ohio Street. I had a rasberry wheat and really liked it. Seating is available both outside (several tables, some under cover), and inside (one giant table up front, a few more in the back). Placed my order at the bar and chilled inside near the window. For the day, they had 10 options available for draft - ranging between $6-9 depending on size/ABV. Settled on the "Pineapple Express" IPA ($6.75 for 16oz) - a thick IPA with tropical notes as promised from the name. Seating area is nice as you can relax without any loud music or TVs, as well as dog-watch all the pets at the tables. They do have a few snacks for sale but nothing to write home about. Despite the out-of-the-way location, a nice pitstop for some unique beers. read more

I think the one thing I really love about this brewery is that it feels like a neighborhood bar/hangout. It's just a comfortable atmosphere with a cool staff and some awesome beers. The first time we came here we scored a couple of seats at the bar. Unfortunate for the proprietor, the heater had kicked the bucket that day and they were having a repair man out to fix it. At the same time a birthday party was being held in the small second room that seems to just house a large communal table and brewing supplies. They were also going through some renovations and it was around the time when we got record amounts of rainfall and the roof was leaking. All these things could have in one way or another made the evening uncomfortable, but it was actually a great time. The space is small, but yet comfortable and dog friendly! So bring you pup. They had food trucks outside both times we were here and a TV and board games for your entertainment. Now let's talk beer. Exceptional beer call WOO was being poured on our first visit. The beer named WOO was not only fun to drink it was a blast to order. I'll take another WOO! Delicious. The second time we came here they were unfortunately out of Woo, sad face, but we still managed to find a very nice IPA to replace my WOO. Visited here on a Saturday night and I loved it! They had live music out in the beer garden, as well as a Moes tent giving out free tacos and chips. There's a mobile beer keg in the beer garden with 3 options, including a lager, IPA, and Hefferveizen. I ordered the Polish lager and Lemon Peel Hef. Both were delicious and refreshing, however the hefferveizen was much smoother and had an incredible lemon after taste. In the beer garden, there's a few picnic tables and chairs available for you to sit and relax, along with a cornhole board and giant connect four game. I also made my way inside and discovered they had even more beer flavors and additional seating (both indoor and outdoor). Inside I ordered the raspberry wheat beer, which was by far the best beer of the night! It was fruity and a little tart. Along with being very smooth and refreshing. They even let you bring those drinks to the beer garden to continue listening to the live music. Great experience, perfect for summer and I'm looking forward to going back. read more

Haeeeee... I'm a big fan! Came here on a bike ride after penn brewery and was SO happy to get some more flavor in my life. I got the Blanche Devereaux and my partner got the Deutschtown Brown. Both were really good and packed flavor without being over done. Bartenders were fantastic! We sampled a few beers before landing on our choices. The place itself is smaller, but quaint and encourages a hang out. Plenty of board games and the vibes are good with friendly people. We will definitely be back!! read more
