We were in the neighborhood and decided to check it out on our quest to visit the Pittsburgh Breweries. We loved the architecture of this historic building and also the tap fashioned out of a pipe. They have a great patio and a variety of inside seating, which could make it ideal for a larger group. The bartender invited us to try some beers (3 each is the limit). We each tried two including Archer, Reel Queen, Dry Irish Stout, and Eleven Eleven. The bartender was highly knowledgeable and gave excellent recommendations based upon beers that we like to drink. They also have a really diverse tap list with a variety of beer styles and NA options. This visit we came for their Fossil brew day event. They always have fun events and popup vendors. I've loved their German village as well which they open for special occasions. There are a few spots to park out front, but lots of street parking around the area. They always have a wide variety in the menu from hazys, light shandys lagers or kolsh style beers, to even sours and dark beers. Can get multiple sizes pours, and they have plenty of specialty nights each week. Try it Tuesday gives you 3 8oz pours for $10, Trivia on Thursdays, and sports on the TVs. Food truck calendar on their website is updated pretty far out, and their social media game is on point. Staff is always friendly and knowledge! I really wanted to like this spot because I love their beer, but the inside smelled so bad I couldn't get over it! It smelled like sweaty feet, and the smell didn't dissipate as long as we were there. We ended up leaving after just one drink because the smell was so bad. I love this place! I stopped in one night 30 minutes or so before closing and I really didn't get to enjoy this amazing place like I wanted to, but at least I got to check it out and have a couple of their amazing beers and get a cool glass for my collection and look forward to coming back. It's very chill and everyone who was there was happy, smiling and enjoying themselves. I love everything about this place; it's location, the beer, the staff and the building itself. The bartender who waited on us was a super cool dude. He gave us some stickers and was just super friendly. Cool brewery with interesting beers and ciders on tap. Stopped by on a Saturday night and the tables outside were filled. Some people had their dogs with them. There was a good truck, it looked like poke bowls and sushi, though we had already eaten so we didn't sample anything. Inside there were a bunch of empty tables and bar seating. Eleventh hour is a nice brewery in a fantastic residential location. I love how easily accessible this place is by walking or biking. The beer selection is vast and the outdoor space is plentiful. I tried their fruit sour last time and it was sweet, refreshing and delicious but definitely not all that sour which is probably why I liked it. Their stouts and hazy IPAs are also very solid. Another added bonus - they bring amazing food trucks on site (like Tocayo) which really adds to the fun and relaxed atmosphere. The only reason I can't give this place five stars is that the two times I have been here I've noticed that the smell inside the brewery is horrendous (even with a mask on and the windows open). You get used to it if you sit in there long enough but it's definitely jarring when you first walk in. read more

This is one of my favorite Pittsburgh breweries. They always have a large selection of IPAs and hazy IPAs. They even have beers similar to domestics sometimes for those who don't drink hoppy beer (this was helpful when I took my non craft beer drinking friends here) There is a decent amount of seating inside, with outdoor seating when the weather is nice. A food truck is parked outside most weekend days, so you can have snacks if you get hungry. They have a lot of fun board games that you can borrow while you drink. When we were out in Pittsburgh, Wifey and I knew we'd have a lot of time to ourselves (my son was participating in a regional chorus event) and one of the things we wanted to do was the City Brew Tour. What better way to discover a city's great beers that having a beer expert drive you around in a small bus to four breweries and talking about the breweries, their brewing processes and tasting great beer...oh, and add in a tasty meal. Beer bliss! Loved the beer at our first stop of the night, Eleventh Hour Brewing. We received a nice tour of the brewing area and discussed the processing while enjoying some of their tasty treats. The staff here could not have been nicer and they were very accommodating with our questions and they knew their beers. I'm not an IPA guy, but the one we tried was pretty good. Tons of seating and there are multiple tvs (which can be rare for a brewery), so it's a great place to watch a game or hang with friends. Their craft beer selection is fantastic , ranging from light lagers to fruity ales to super dank ipas. They also have canned to-go beer options. We stopped by eleventh hour brewing after driving around Pittsburgh and checking out the area. There are limited designated parking spaces available right outside the building, but we had no trouble parking on the street just around the corner. There's a nice indoor area as well as picnic tables outside by the street. We sat outside and there was plenty of shade. I ordered 1/2 pours of dream cannon no. 2 black and blue and moon series: buck moon. The dream cannon was GOOD. Fruity, sour, blackberry, smooth. The buck moon beer was smooth, citrusy, piney, and very good. I'm a sucker for anything moon/celestial related, and it didn't disappoint. They put out a new beer in the moon series each month that corresponds with the full moon - I LOVE IT. I wish I had been able to try the flower, pink, and strawberry moons in the series. Looking forward to hopefully trying the harvest moon and/or the hunter's moon. There are different food trucks scheduled. To be honest, I settled on trying out eleventh hour after seeing which food truck would be there. The Boonseek!! Open, industrial, serves water out of real glass carafes not a Gatorade cooler that Antonio Brown went two rounds with. They have about 8-10 different beers, some local mead, and cider. I am more of a beer gal as is my guy so we ordered some drafts and were lucky enough to find two open bar stool. We weren't expecting the place to be as packed as they were for a late afternoon Sunday, but they had a birthday party being celebrated there which undoubtedly caused the larger than imagined crowds. The ample space accommodated all the partygoers and other patrons but it was a tad snug. They have several picnic style tables, and I believe an outdoor area, though it was super chill that day so hanging outside will have to wait until next year. There was a food truck there too, but we were coming from a late lunch so we did not inquire about it, though it is nice to know they have one even on a rainy late day Sunday. The atmosphere vibe was on course with many new craft breweries. Reclaimed wood, open ductwork, and concrete floors. They sure did spend a lot of money making the place look unfinished :D. I really enjoyed my IPA the Hidden Hammer. Matt tried a couple different beers that he liked as well. Maybe the best part about this place was how relaxing it felt. I LOVED the garage door style windows. Super cool. The bartenders/brew masters were very friendly. A much needed brewery in Lawrenceville. Seriously! This place is incredible and the owners are just lovely. The decor is repurposed, refurbished, beautiful woods and metals in a rustic warehouse. The brews are by far the best pours I've had in a long while. My fave is the Beta Series Oatmeal Stout. So good. In addition to their own pours they carry an Arsenal cider and an Apis mead. The staff was friendly and quickly served us and the other patrons. There were a lot of people watching college football and playing oversized jenga. In for a Steelers game with wife and son from CA decided to go out on a nice brisk evening for a beer. Pros: Beer is solid, we had a hazy pale that was full of tropical notes and perfectly balanced without the heavy body of most hazys. Location is great, close to all the restaurants in lawrencville. Cons: Being from CA our brewery scene is one that is family inviting with board games and dogs and usually carry hours of like 2-9p, EH, although cool hipster vibe and upbeat, is more like a bar(we were there at 630pm on a Saturday) than it is an outdoor Brewhouse vibe. Overall we enjoyed ourselves but would've probably not taken our son (10yr) had we known the environment. Maybe early in the day would be better if your taking a child. read more

My wife and I came over after exploring Lawrenceville and eating at a local pizza joint. We wanted to dive into another local brewery and found Eleventh Hour around the corner from where we parked. There are thousands of craft breweries today and most being only a few years old. Eleventh Hour is only a year and a half old but it feels like its been there for 20 years (in a great way.) Eleventh Hour Brewing has a large open floor plan with a bunch of long wooden tables and bar seating. They have a 20 barrel brew-house and a 1200 sq. ft. taproom. The first thing that hits you when walking through the doors is the smell of cedar wood. There is wood everywhere, from the bar to the tables, to a design on the wall. They do not serve food but always have a food truck sitting outside waiting for your satious appetite. The beer is superb and they brew a variety of selections from Blondes to IPA's, to Saisons. I had the Burning Phoenix Pale Ale (with jalapeno) and it had a great spice and flavor to it. Was not too overpowering and had a great after-taste. My wife had the sour (I can't remember the name) and loved it. We ended up leaving with two crowlers (32 oz.) of the Wild Amaryllis and my wife got a 4 pack of their Makeshift Dynamite. The best part was the bartenders, they were engaging to talk to and knowledgeable on the beer that is brewed there. Great experience, great beer, DRINK LOCAL. Fun time! read more

You will not know it's there unless you know about it or stumble upon it by accident. We tried other beers. They were all good. Mexican was my favorite. The place inside is a large establishment. The beers were spot on. I came here on a brewery tour- and I enjoyed each tasting. The blonde ale (Amaryllis?) might be one of my new favorites. The inside is rustic. Long wooden tables, nice amount of bar seating, etc. Not the kind of place you would be able to mingle around easily, but ample seating for larger groups. I really wish the staff would have been more engaging. I don't think I've been to a brewery here in Pittsburgh or any other city (note:that's a lotta breweries) where I wasn't greeted, or at least the folks bartending weren't excited to brag on their beer- or tell us what makes it special there. As I mention in other posts, there isn't a brewery in town that's going to make it if you don't make it an experience with differentiation from the million other great places to grab a brew. read more
