Although it was cute to me, it got old really quick with my kids. I figured it was time to get a professional involved. I chose The Up and Up Garage Doors company because it was relatively close to where I live (I learned pretty quickly that some companies don't serve my area, so I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be disappointed if they didn't served my area). The company had a decent number of reviewers, which I feel makes the 5 star reviews seem legit. Surprisingly, I was able to book a consultation the same day. Neil was able to diagnose the problem relatively quickly and explained the parts that I would definitely need (like a new receiver), parts that I would not need (like the spring) and parts that would be nice to have (like the rolling wheels along the rail). He was very transparent about the price of the parts and labor as well as time it would take to pick up the parts and complete the job. TBH, the garage door system he recommended seemed gimmicky, but I decided to go with it anyway because he had me at " it's one of the quietest systems." He was able to install the very same day and was very patient helping me set up the remote garage door openers and iPhone app, which turns out has a feature that floored me, which was basically the ability to check if my garage door was closed or not after I left! The amount of time I imagined I would save by not having to turn the car around to double check is priceless! The overall time it took from looking at the company, setting up an appointment, Neil having to pick up the system from the company, drive back and install was literally less than three hours. I also thought the price was very reasonable for having such a quality product and super awesome experience. Originally they were hesitant to give a price, but I wanted to get a ball park estimate as I don't live at the residence needing work so wanted a rough idea. They said they normally don't do that but after explaining the situation, I got a range. It was a reasonable range so agreed to have them come out. Btw, I called like 5 places and they all had a similar mentality about giving ballpark quotes. Chris the technician happened to be in the area and I was able to meet him earlier. He was able to replace both springs (only 1 was broken) but I choose to get 2. About 30 minutes later, door was fixed and I was on my way. He clearly had done this type of work for many year.
