First, I am giving 1 star because 0 is not an option. They had my car for 5 and a half MONTHS for a repair I was told would take 2 weeks. They never answered the phone and I had to go there for any updates. The office manager promised action, but that also was a lie. I was told on Feb 6th it would be ready the 7th or the next week. It wasnt done until April 1. When I picked it up they had boxed up random items, removed my steering wheel cover and left glass cleaner and wipes in my car. Finally, when I picked it up the floor liner was under the brake and OVER the gas pedal. This had to have been done by them AFTER they parked it "ready" for pick-up. I purchased my 2020 Caddillac XT5 from this dealership a few years ago. It had a minor issue (Check engine light and warnings pop up every time it rains). I brought it in, and we scheduled an appointment a few weeks out for Dec 30. I scheduled a vacation day, and brought the car in at 8am for its scheduled appointment. I made it VERY clear when I dropped it off that I NEED it back for work tomorrow. They assured me that they would re-assemble after troubleshooting so that I could still get to work in the morning. 1 hour before closing time they had still not contacted me with an update. So I tried to call them. Their phone system has no operator. The voicemail box is full and I was left on hold for over 20 minutes. I had someone drive me to the dealership to finally speak to someone. Only to learn that THEY HAD NOT EVEN LOOKED AT IT and everybody had left over an hour ago. They had no intention of calling me. If I had not gone in, they would have kept my car overnight and I would not have been able to get to work this morning. This is not an acceptable way to treat a customer! I made an appointment, multiple weeks in advance and you don't even look at it?!!! WTF??? I understand that you are busy, but that is the entire reason that appointments exist. My worst car buying experience ever, and an embarrassment to the name of Cadillac! I'm from California and was interested in the Diesel model of the Escalade. Diesel models are hard to come by in the west coast, but I was able to find one at Allen Cadillac of Monroe Michigan. I was dealing with Salesman Mike Johnson and paid FULL asking price since he didn't want to negotiate a single penny off the listed price. Upon taking possession of the vehicle at my residence via semi truck delivery at 11:30pm on a Saturday night, I immediately noticed the vehicle was missing its floor mats (PROBABLY STOLEN BY DEALERSHIP STAFF OR TRUCK DRIVER), I also noticed that neither of the speakers on the front doors are working. Both driver and passenger side speakers were blown out, and the engine bay looked like the hood was left open while sitting in a sandstorm. ( Mike said he had their detail shop wash the engine prior to shipping) you be the judge and look at photo attached, does it look like they made any attempts to clean the engine bay? He was blowing smoke up my a**! Upon notifying Mike Johnson about these concerns, he promised he would make it right to where I'm happy with my purchase. Well guess what, I had to pay to clean the engine out of pocket, Mike ordered me some off brand floor mats from Amazon instead of sending original Cadillac mats, and a runaround every time I inquired to him about replacing the speakers at my local Cadillac at their expense. I figured since the vehicle came out of their dealership that way and I couldn't get any negotiating off asking price they would be kind enough to accommodate the speaker repair. (Yeah right! ) They're the cheapest and worst penny-pinching dealership I've ever dealt with, and the worst customer service I've experienced. I thought Cadillac would uphold higher standards for customer satisfaction. Furthermore, during the signing process I advised Mike I won't buy the vehicle unless I get a extended warranty for the Engine, Suspension, transmission and electrical. Mike swore up and down that I have nothing to worry about as they have an excellent extended warranty company which they use all the time who is really good (PROTECTIVE). Asking for $4500 on 48k Miles or 4 years whichever is first. So I trusted Mike and paid for the warranty. Now that I have the vehicle and called protective to get more information on warranty claims, guess what, they said they won't even cover the headlight if it went out. Lousy and terrible extended warranty Ide say. I was lied to about the so called excellent Warranty company, left to dry on the speaker replacement, and have to pay out of pocket to buy Cadillac Floor mats. My experience was something I would expect from a small mom pop auto sales dealer, but not a Cadillac dealer. I will be sharing my experience with GM and Cadillac headquarters. They did remove a re-sticking fee if the windshield glass that was not installed at their facility due to installer not being available. If the thermostat goes bad in the close postion it will blow your head casket, wraped your heads and basically blow your engine. I would give them zero stars if I could. I am a widow and single parent. I am on a budget. I bought a used vehicle from Allen Chevrolet and the check engine light came on in October of last year. A few months after I purchased the vehicle. I went to auto zone and they ran a diagnostic on the car. In November the dealership replaced the Oil Control Solenoid valve (the cheaper of the two fixes that came up on the diagnostic report and the one that is not covered on the warranty) In December, the check engine light came back on. I took it to auto zone again and they ran a diagnostic report that is identical to the first one. I have been trying to get my car repaired since then. I am on a budget and need to borrow a loaner car. They have cancelled my appointments 4 times now. The service department won't put you through to anyone that may actually be able to get results for you. I looked them up online and emailed the general manager. He never responded to my email. Their warranty is only good at their dealership. BUY A CAR SOMEWHERE ELSE! THAT IS MY ADVICE TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A GOOD CAR AND GOOD CAR CARE! read more

I would give one star if that was possible because I have had the worst experience buying a car through Allen Chevrolet of Monroe. Their sales manager, Nolan Kinchsular, is the reason why people do not trust used car sales men. He will tell you all the ways he's going to fix the problem, but with absolutely no follow through followed by ghosting your calls. DO NOT go to Allen Chevrolet, and I will tell you why. My husband and I bought a used Chevy Suburban and traded in our Chevy Silverado lease with only a couple payments remaining. Firstly, the dealership didn't want to negotiate at all on the price, despite the fact that the Suburban was a couple grand above KBB value. Secondly, months after we purchased the vehicle, GM sent us a $418 fee for the lease, even though I was reassured multiple times by their financial department when I was signing the lease turn in papers that the "vehicle was grounded" and we are no longer responsible for any additional payments or fees regarding the Chevy Silverado lease. The gentlemen who was drafting, explaining, and having me sign the paperwork even went as far as to say "yes, I would even log into my GM account and make sure to turn off auto pay if you have it on so you don't pay any further on the Silverado, the vehicle is in our [the dealership's] possession and has been grounded". We contacted the dealership about this fee, and again Nolan told us he would sort it out. We continued to follow up weekly to see if there was any progress. After a month of my husband leaving message with multiple people, including Nolan, GM sent us the bill again, except the bill had double because it was considered late and now impacted my husbands credit score by 60 points. He spoke to Nolan and GM again and SURPRISE, Nolan didn't do anything. We ended up paying the original $418 fee and GM is looking into removing the late payment penalty on our credit report. Thirdly, within days of driving the vehicle, we noticed the front struts were bad. We found out that our particular model has Magnaride struts that cost anywhere between $500-$600 a piece. My husband couldn't even take the tires off to investigate further because the tires had locking lug nuts on them and surprise, NO KEY was included with the vehicle. This is interesting because the dealership claims they did a full vehicle inspection. So one of two things happened here. Either, they removed the locking lug nuts, saw the struts were bad and put the locking lug nuts back on and chose not to replace the expensive struts and not tell us about the locking lug nuts, OR they never did the vehicle inspection in the first place which would explain why the car still had locking lug nuts on it without a key and without telling us. If a vehicle has locking lug nuts on without a key, the dealership would have removed them and put regular lug nuts on prior to selling the vehicle because it is incredibly hard to purchase a new key. That is literally the whole point to having locking lug nuts. Regardless, both scenarios are unethical. When we communicated this all (bad struts, locking lug nuts) to the dealership, Nolan gave us the typical scripted response of how he was sorry for the issues we are having and asked us to bring the vehicle in to the service shop. He told us the time and day to be there. I moved appointments around to accommodate it. My husband showed up at the correct date and time to the dealership's service department and no one had any idea why he was there or what he discussed with Nolan. He specifically told them what Nolan had discussed with him and Nolan specifically asked us to come in that day so he could speak with us in person. The service guy said verbatim "yeah I don't know what was agreed on between you and Nolan, but I can't do anything until I clear it with him and he isn't here today. He is on vacation until next week". At that point, my husband had them remove the lug nuts and left. Fourthly, within a couple of weeks of driving the vehicle, we felt the transmission shift hard. Turns out the transmission needed to be replaced. We notified Nolan of this new development as well. The vehicle was still under power train warranty at that point. We are still waiting to hear from Nolan as to whether or not they are going to cover any of the cost for the transmission being replaced. Fifthly, we noticed a slow air leak in our front passenger tire. We decided to have all four tires replaced. When we had the tires replaced, the technician made it a point to tell my husband how bad the tires were. We bought this vehicle in the beginning of April 2025 and have already put over 7k into it. Now I fully understand buying a used vehicle comes with repairs, and I also understand that dealerships are trying to make a profit, but at what point do we draw the line on being so unethical and taking advantage of people? I am actively filing complaints to the State Attorney General's Office, the FTC, CFPB, DMV, and the BBB. read more

While Allen Chevrolet Cadillac may be a dealer to consider to new vehicles, I would stay away when it comes to used vehicles. I purchased a used vehicle from Allen in May. I test drove the car and it seemed to be without any major issues. The only issue was a scratch that went through the paint, causing rust to start. Allen was not willing to move down on the price, but did agree to fix the scratch. I was told by the manager that while they could not come down on the price, the car would go through a detailed inspection and any issues would be fixed prior to pickup. I trusted this and agreed to purchase the vehicle. While driving home a loud grinding noise began, I thought it was possibly from the brakes but quickly learned it was due to a dragging plastic panel that protects the undercarriage. Some of the plastic clips were missing and it was put on incorrectly. Instead of contacting the dealer and driving back, I deiced to reinstall it correctly and ordered new clips. A few weeks after having the car I noticed abnormalities in the suspension (rough ride, clicking noises, creaking) and the brakes began making noise. As the weeks continued the issues got worse. I have put less than 1000 miles on the car since I bought it. I then brought it into a local shop and learned that the car needs $5600 in repairs including control arms, sway bars, bushings, struts, brake pads and calipers. The mechanic stated there is no way a proper inspection by Allen was conducted as these issues should have been found and addressed. None of this issues were apparent during my test drive and only began after Allen's inspection/oil change (where the plastic undercarriage issues likely originated). I understand used cars will have wear and tear, and I should have got an independent inspection, but Allen was still deceptive in their inspection/repair promise. Had I known about these issues (if Allen was truly transparent)I would not have bought the car. I now have an significant, unexpected cost that I am unprepared for. If you are considering buying a used car from Allen, please do yourself a favor and get an independent inspection. I feel deceived and shocked at my experience with Allen. read more

On Monday 6/29, my husband called to schedule a service appt for our new-to-us Chevy Silverado with Tim for Friday 7/3 at 730am. We had just bought the vehicle from Bill Crispin 2 weeks prior and noticed our speakers rattled. We did not buy from Allen Chevrolet because we were uninterested in their selection of trucks. Our truck, at the time, was under bumper to bumper warranty until the following day, considering we had a trip planned that would put us over mileage. Cool, that's why we brought the truck in while still under warranty. My husband arrived and Tim listened to our speaker for 10 seconds and said "I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but take it back to Bill Crispin where you bought it. They might fix it." Okay, why did you even schedule us an appointment and waste our time? Absolutely unprofessional. Not to mention, Bill Crispin is located an hour away. We are Monroe locals and were planning on using Allen chevy for the lifetime of our truck. We will absolutely not ever use Allen Chevrolet nor recommend them to even a worst enemy. It took me 5 consecutive calls to reach Tim that day because I was panicked that our truck would no longer be under warranty if not serviced that day. I kept getting his voicemail every time I called so I put my male coworker on the phone to see if he could reach Tim. My coworker was immediately connected with Tim. Either Tim was dodging my calls or Tim is displaying characteristics of Sexism. I will let you decide. Tim only took responsibility for poor service once I asked him to apologize and reassured me he will look into our matter and get back with us to see if the speaker is covered. No one called me. I had to personally call for an update. I mean???? I filed a formal complaint with Chevy for awful customer service. TWICE. Tim stoddard in sales followed up with me and was WONDERFUL. Thought this circus was turning around however, Tim referred me to Mr. John Allen himself. John Allen called, accused me of threatening him because I said if this is not covered for some reason at this point, he needs to make it right and pay for it anyways due to the massive mistreatment and inconvenience or I will blow up with reviews. I guess that's considered a threat these days? Laughable. Whenever I asked Allen a direct question and he replied "I understand your concern" instead of owning the mistake and answering my warranted concerns. When I asked him why my male co-worker was connected with Tim immediately and I was not he replied: "Our phones do not ring pink or blue." Classy. I'm not an idiot Mr. Allen. I am an educated, professional woman. Good thing I will be taking my business to Dave White Chevrolet in Toledo Ohio, who asked me to come in ASAP and reassured me they would cover whatever cost.
