We had water damage as a result of a failing roof not managed properly by our HOA. Jeremie McPhail has seriously been so amazing to work with - you can tell he really knows his stuff and has a ton of experience in this area. Surprising how much they wanted to unfairly charge me without a second thought. Technicians only spent one hour at my house removing a small piece of pipe and they wanted to charge $850. Called the estimator and he said that was the minimum fee they had to charge.Then I found a positive Yelp review about them but the client said he was charged $650 for 3 hours of pipe removal.It was at that point they adjusted the price to $650 but still was it fair when the other customer had a 3 hour project for the same price? It wasn't until I found out through looking at Yelp that they felt obliged to adjust my cost. Then I had to drive to the office to retrieve my check and write out a new one. Not going to get into the other unprofessional aspects of how they handle clients.Let's just say I would not repeat using them. read more

We had a garage smoke fire about a year ago. Our home was ok but had lots of smoke damage. This company was chosen by our insurance co. To install a York furnace for us as the other one was too damaged to repair. They were great....until they weren't! We had issues with the furnace right off the bat but assumed because it was new it had to work out a few kinks. It wasn't too terrible that first year we used it. Mind you, we live in CA. It's not needed often. Our 2nd year, the problem persisted. Long story short. It's been about 2 months since I first called them to come out and check the unit. It's been about 1 month since a tech came out. And, it's been at least 6 people I've left messages for or talked to, all with zero results but lots of promises to get back to me. So the moral is they will be that 5 star company until you need some help. Then you're looking at a 1 star company. I was just reading Elena's response to all the 1 star reviews! During our home insurance claim we had joint compound test positive for asbestos. Jeremy came to the house, explained what would happen, time frame to expect the job done, and sent the quote over to our insurance. He communicated with our insurance adjuster that the water heater would be removed and that we'd have no access to an entry and got insurance to cover a hotel stay for us. He arranged with Servpro to get all the fixtures, appliances and cabinetry out of the laundry room, and had a plumber detach and remove the water heater. After dealing with the headache of a claim it was a relief to have a company like this, and Jeremy handle this piece of it. They truly made it so easy. When the plan was to have the job started on a Thursday and end on a Monday, I communicated with Jeremy that I was returning to work from maternity leave on Monday and that it would be helpful to us if we could possibly move the job up and he made it happen! Even better than that, the entire job took a day less than expected. Highly recommend this company. We had some water damage in our bathroom and needed some asbestos abatement done. We were recommended to Michael Griffin from Alliance. Time was of the essence because I was pregnant at the time. Michael drove down to the OC from a job in Beverly Hills and worked quickly with us to get the whole thing done in time. It allowed our plumber and restoration guys to fix the damage and also remodel our bathroom just in time for the baby! I would not recommend this company to anyone. When I first received a bill, I explained to JC Black that I am recovering from cancer surgery, chemo, radiation and I am now a widow. I just wanted proof that I owed him this money. JC Black became irate and consistently harassed me for a payment of over $900.00 and he did absolutely nothing. His wife and he continually called my house threatening me. When my answering machine would pick up, they would continually press buttons on their phone, so that my machine would fill up with beeping noises, disabling my answering machine. They have behaved unprofessionally and I believe they have taken advantage of a senior citizen. read more

Two managers stood out at this company- Jeremie Mcphail and Jose Gutierrez. Knowing their prompt executive decision making track record, it allows us the confidence to come back for future projects. Ours is only a small testing and remediation of 2 rooms in preparation of our newborn baby's arrival. However, as owners of an architectural firm, we know we may use this group again based on their positive customer service. Jeremie Mcphail from the start to finish has been a 5 star manager and customer service provider. When he said things will be done, no matter how difficult it was, it will be done. When issues such as missing machines from the crew or slight damaged walls occurred, he will make sure remediation was in place quickly. His calm demeanor and his willingness to pick up his phone to actually help resolve issues, is reassuring. Jose Gutierrez was also another 5 star manager. Without his approval and quick decision making, we would not have gotten 3 commercial machines running 24 hours to help remediate our master, general home, and baby's nursery. The entire admin team was seamlessly turning reports and communications as quick as they could. While there were some hiccups earlier on. Their subsequent resolute in helping us getting the home clear of the rating result was impressive. Our baby is now 5 month old. I had rodents and other pests in my attic, old insulation, and some shoddy work done by contractors, and Alliance came to the rescue. I can't speak highly enough of Luis and Matthew, but I'm going to try. The team showed up exactly on time, first thing in the morning at 8 am. Their friendliness set the tone for the day. Matthew fully explained what he was doing every step of the way, and was so friendly every time I interrupted him with questions about what he was doing, not because I wanted to micromanage, but because it's absolutely clear from talking to both Matthew and Luis that *they know what they're doing,* and I wanted to learn from their experience so I can pretend to know what I'm talking about to others. The guys took care of my house like it was their own. They were cautious wherever they stepped, covered everything in plastic, and really went to work. It was not an easy job, and they did the whole thing with a smile and positive attitude. The results are FANTASTIC, and I cannot recommend Alliance highly enough. Alliance Environmental Group is the asbestos abatement company that ALL asbestos abatement, mold removal and inspection services should be compared to. They are the bar to which all other companies try to reach, but will never reach, let alone pass. My Estimator, JC, was right on time, very friendly and professional. He did a VERY through inspection, found where the damage started from and how far it spread to. He worked directly with my insurance company Adjuster and took care of all the paperwork and details. His crews were also right on time and very professional. They sealed the areas that needed to be demoed and cleaned, worked their butts off and left the house as clean as it was when they got there. They were as professional as JC. JC stayed in contact with me throughout the job and explained each step all along the way. Within 5 minutes of meeting JC, I knew that I was in good hands and that my house would be given the attention that it now needed. I honestly can't say that I enjoyed the water leak that caused all the damage that needed me to use Alliance Environmental, but since I had no choice in that, luckily the House Gods sent me JC and Alliance. They made what could have been a horrible situation a mere inconvenience. If I had the option, I'd give them 100 stars instead of the measly 5 that Yelp offers. This company did a pretty good job. The had to demo my bathroom which included removing vanity, toilet, cabinet, shower, tile and sheet rock and asbestos abatement. The only mistake they made was putting my toilet in the garage when it still had some water in it. It leaked over the floor. However, when I brought it to their attention they owned up to it and apologized. That's the proper way a mistake should be handled. I feel I can work with them again. I had a flood in my house the middle of March and Alliance was dispatched to assess, remove and remediate. First the tech donned his protective suit and gear and proceeded to test for mold and water intrusion. Ultimately drywall was removed and replaced, along with many other things. Three days of fans blowing 24/7 to dry out the area was daunting but it did the job. Had a good rapport with everyone. read more

I'm a Licensed Realtor, a believe me when I say, listen to the other reviewers. This company is dishonest and will try to make a fool out of you, since you, as a customer, do not know much about asbestos. We already have a full lab report from another asbestos inspection company with all the results and location of the asbestos. We gave Alliance the full report to work from, and they also came in to do an initial inspection/walkthrough to see the scope of work. Anthony, the manager, explained to me where the asbestos was located. As a non-professional in asbestos removal, we obviously have to believe in everything they tell us. When Anthony asked us whether we wanted our HVAC ducts removed, I asked him if there were asbestos there, and he told me no. So I told him, if there isn't any asbestos there, and you think we do not need to remove it, then you don't have to. Therefore, when Alliance came in to do the abatement work, they did not remove the ducts. However, after the first abatement process, our HVAC contractor came in to inspect, and he told me that there is still a bunch of asbestos in the attic. I called up Anthony and he told me that wasn't in our agreed upon scope of work. I told him, since he told us that there was no asbestos up there, we decided not to remove the ducts. But now he is saying yes, there is asbestos around the boot that is connected to the ducts, and that the boot and the ducts are both considered the same part. Since we did not want the ducts removed, they did not remove the boot as well. This is unfair from a customer's point of view, since we do not know what technical terms they called each part. All we really care about is having everything removed. They then proceeded to say that they will need to charge us for a second service to remove the rest of it. This is ridiculous because they didn't do well the first time, so why do we have to pay for another service? But we didn't have a choice, so we proceeded with the second service. They came out and got this removed after a lot of re-negotiations. Our HVAC contractor came out again to inspect the 2nd abatement, and what do you know? They still left some asbestos in the attic. Anthony didn't believe us when we told him that they forgot it a second time, and tried to frame it on us for planting another piece of asbestos there. But when he came out again to inspect, he agreed that it was their fault. Because of Alliance's unprofessional and dishonest manner, this whole process was dragged on longer than usual, and my client had to postpone their move in date. My client even had to close their full time business for half a day, just so Alliance can go back a second time to complete their unfinished work. This costed my client valuable time and money. Furthermore, they do not work weekends, when that's the time a majority of residential homeowners are at home. They should work around the customers' schedules, and not have the customer work around theirs. Never use them, and do not let their initial low estimate fool you. Pay a bit more to other companies who can get the work done on time and in a professional manner. read more

I cannot rave about Alliance enough. Our ceiling caved in after roof damage from a storm, and we found out we have asbestos and needed to work with an abatement company. Our insurance recommended them, and we had a fantastic experience. They were able to get us in within a few days and their team was fast and professional. I coordinated with Brian M. (Fresno) who is incredibly responsive and cooperative. We had a lot in our room that was unsalvageable but we were worried about the coverage from our insurance. Brian arranged for our items to be stored until we received confirmation of reimbursement from the insurance before disposing of them. They provided a great detailed inventory with pictures that made my insurance claim very, very simple. Overall, I hope I don't have a reason to work with them again (haha) but am grateful for the 5-star service. read more

Our house was had recessed ceilings under the acoustic, that needed to be restored and even though the workers were not initially familiar with these types of ceilings, they removed the acoustic and plaster beautifully. Run for your lives from this company. My insurance company recommended a restoration company after my flood who reffered me to this company after asbestos was found in my home. They have a man named Larry who lied agaian and again. When he came for the quote on a late Tuesday evening he said they could not get started until 3 to 5 days. Well I called the next day and said I want to find a company who can start quickly. So then they changed and said he could start on Thursday but they would not finish until Tuesday. I asked why if it only takes 3 days? He said because they dont work weekends. So first he tells me they can start until Friday to Sunday but then says they dont work weekends?. Lies.. I asked the worker he said they did work all days of the weekend but they had double booked this weekend..If they didnt have the man power then why did they lie to me to tske the job? They never communicate about when they would arrive. I would email the Larry guy and he would finally tell me. The office is so unorganized. Secretary was rude and cant get anyone to call you back. No one calls you back. They burned the paint off my front porch, used my garden hose to attach to their machine that needed water and then took my hose with them. I had to call and they finally returned it. They left one 2 feet by 2 feet piece of wall right where the flood occured in my bathroom. They removed almost every wall in my house but not this piece? Well that is because it had some mold growing on it and they left it so the company who reffered them could charge my insurance for mold remediation services. The threw my light switch plates everywhere and lost the screws. They damaged my doors and make you sign a waver saying they are not responsible.Dirty cheaters.. Run from these people. read more

Worked with them for 3-4 months after a fire. The estimators are sales guys and don't care about anything besides their money. They overestimate, insurance typically pays it, then they do subpar work. The guys that work don't understand instructions, even though it's on the contract. When it says cut wall so ducting can be removed, 5x10 ft, you don't cut 2x3 ft and leave it like that. When the contract says "remove family room ceiling, 13 ft x 10 ft", you don't remove 8 ft by 3 ft and charge insurance $2,000. I didn't have a problem with billing as much as others did, but the sales guy called on the first day after completion and asked where I was so he could come get the money right away. Kinda odd. Why not just send me an invoice and I'll call it in to pay or mail a check like normal people? read more

My pest control company uses Alliance Environmental as a sub-contractor to remove attic insulation, sanitizer, and replace the insulation with a boric acid component that is a non-toxic anti-pest product. I had this work done today and I can't say enough positive about the crew and the work. I have never had any crew protect my home as carefully as Ethan and Ryan did. Clean plastic sheeting was laid out through my entrance, up the stairs, along the walls, and along the upstairs doors. They were courteous, respectful, very competent, professional. Incredible service from Jeremie Mcphail and Alliance Environmental. Jeremie came out to evaluate our "mold infestation" and coordinated the project. Instead of it being a frightening experience, he made sure we understood the process, helped us navigate and understand the "what ifs" and what to expect each step along the way. His estimate was literally 2/3 of what our contractor's "guy" wanted to charge us, and there were no hidden costs. The remediation was completed quickly and completely, and we were able to resume our remodeling process within a week of contacting Alliance. I've used them several times before to clean our air vents and dryer vents and been satisfied. I called them again today and they've increased their prices; it was going to cost over $600 to clean the vents. We live in a townhome and I want to forewarn you!! I can't speak to the quality of work Alliance does - I can only speak to the fact they blatantly disregard city codes and neighborhood rules and regulations and work any and all hours that they deem appropriate - all in the name of getting a job on on THEIR schedule. And they don't care if they bother neighbors with pounding and banging on (common) walls and obnoxiously loud workmen until 1:00 AM - as happened in our situation - as neighbors. When questioned the next morning why they were working that late the job supervisor said, "Sorry we had a deadline to meet. Don't worry - we're done now so you won't hear any more noise." Really?? I think everyone reading this post would like to know what type of company Alliance is. They don't care how they affect nearby residences, they don't follow city rules and they are impolite and unprofessional when dealing with legitimate complaints. Use someone else. There are many other reputable companies out there. Don't hand your hard earned money over to these guys. To Alliance's response below: Baloney!! The fire occurred on Feb 9th. The owner, my friend, moved out the same day and will not move back in until his townhouse is rebuilt in 6-7 months. The noise disturbance occurred on March 27th/28th (officially 1:00 am on the 28th). There was absolutely no urgency on the part of the owner to have asbestos abatement dealt with on that date in the middle of the night.
