Unorganized, the servers seem miserable and confused maybe new with no previous experience but I think I've seen the same ones (two years) therefore no excuse. Gave this a few times go but every time we were rushed out at end of the night hearing a vacuum, music shut off and the servers talk about how the patrons were unreal for still being in the restaurant. It was 10 minutes to closing and we were finished eating but it's a restaurant and part of the business so when you make customers feel unwelcome they won't return, either will we and the table besides us who stated the same thing. Appetizers were good but the roasted pepper and burrata needed a vessel to eat It - maybe toast points or something, the way It is served It was definitely lacking. Two of us ordered that evenings special which was the bone in Veal Chop with a peppercorn sauce. The meat had no seasoning and was served underdone. We both ordered It medium and they were both closer to rare, we thought about sending them back but It would not have made the dinner any better. There was also a chicken Allura ordered which was pretty good. Over all would not go back. I also have a problem when your server is reading the daily specials from his phone like a shopping list. Came here with a girlfriend on a weekday night. We really enjoyed the stuffed long hots appetizer (spicy!) and the fried calamari was good, nothing special. We enjoyed our entrees, mine was a steak special that was porcini crusted & had a Gorgonzola sauce. It was served atop a broccoli rabe and risotto that was so delicious. My friend was torn between two chicken dishes & she was happy with her choice. Desserts all looked good (though I'm a believer there should be frosting on tres leches). Our bread pudding was good but could've used a bigger scoop of ice cream. They were seating only in the front room, which was fine, but it was a little tight for us moving chairs in and out, the person at the table behind us even had to apologize when they were getting up, it's just little intangible things were the only reason I would dock a star. read more

First time trying this place out tonight. Made a reservation on Open Table. It was so loud in there. You can barely here the people at your own table. We saw the waitress maybe 3 times all night. The salads were horrible. Not to mention the house salad wasn't even included with my $34 entree. Food was ok. Two people got Vodka penne and it was so tried out. We got the check and gave the waitress a credit card (this was her 3rd time at our table all night). She brought the check back to be signed and said to us, do you need a pen? WTH? Found this place when I went to Whole Foods shopping center. I decided to come back for dinner when I saw they had Crabs & Spaghetti on Wednesday and Friday nights in the summer. The place was larger than expected given the location. I enjoyed the crabs & spaghetti meal which came with soup and a dessert (no substitutions). The sauce was very authentic and had enough crab meat on top. The meal was so filling that I took my dessert to go. My husband had the crab cakes served with risotto and spinach. They were also good but lukewarm when served. I was disappointed that our server did not provide as much info about the meals as the other servers I heard talking with other customers. I had to keep asking questions about the special - what kind of soup? how are the crabs served? what is the dessert? etc. It seemed like she just wanted to take the order and move on to the next table. I have been far too remiss to sing Allora's praises after the FANTASTIC job they did with catering my daughter's First Communion lunch. After dining in their restaurant we knew we wanted to look into their catering options. Mark was wonderful to work with and offered his own suggestions for the menu based on our crowd. The cost was EXTREMELY reasonable especially given the quality of the food and the level of service. I would recommend Allora to anyone looking for off-premises catering for their event. Their delivery fees include set up and rental of beautiful sterling chafing dishes, serving spoons, crisp linen napkins (for serving pieces) and white ceramic bowls which add a nice touch to your buffet table. We ordered the following: Clams Casino - very meaty filling and a perfect appetizer Fried Calamari - good sized pieces and the breading/dipping sauce was amazing Caesar Salad - loved their house-made Caesar! Chicken San Marco - like a rev'd up Chicken Marsala. Flavors were outstanding! Eggplant Parm - a staple in our family and this did not disappoint! Penne alla Vodka - classic pink cream sauce with outstanding flavor served with plenty of extra sauce and cheese on the side! Rigatoni with Short Rib Ragu - the dish that got me hooked! We tried this in their restaurant and knew we needed it on our menu! Roasted Pork Italiano (served with PLENTY of rolls) - this pork was so tender and flavorful. Thanks for suggesting it! My wife and I came here on a whim to celebrate my birthday with another couple. Had never heard of the place previously and arrived with unbiased expectations. I was extremely impressed and quickly added the establishment to one of our favorite restaurants that we'll certainly frequent regularly. For some reason the best Italian food always comes from place nestled in a strip mall just like this. Atmosphere inside was warm, inviting, and cozy. Staff was so nice. BYOB! ;) we all ate a smorgasbord of different parmigiana dishes, chicken, veal, and eggplant. Was some of the crispiest and most tender I've had. Veal can be a real hit or miss. This was a hit. I had been a customer of Da Soli for the past 5 years, and told countless people that they had the best veal parm on the planet. Then I went to Allora. I ordered my tried and true favorite, and received a piece of veal that was cut too thick, and had soggy, oily breading around it, topped with a tomato sauce that was inferior to what Da Soli served. We were looking for somewhere local to eat while our kids were at the HS football game. I wanted to try somewhere new. Decided to give this place a try. It was DELICIOUS!!! And the service is some of the best we've had. We've been to some very high end restaurants and the service was subpar. This was really exceptional. Our waiter Mark was outstanding and the fact someone kept peeking over to see if we were done so they could clear our plates was not lost on me. Really amazing service and I really enjoyed the food. I had the stuffed artichokes, blue cheese stuffed filet with risotto and the lemon cake. SO SO SO good!! All of it. I will definitely be back very soon. One of my new favorites. As the sister restaurant of Da Soli, one of Haddonfield's favorite BYOBs, I was excited for the same level of quality at Allora in Marlton. I arrived for an early dinner Saturday evening with my family so the dining room was not yet full. Our server was polite and attentive. The decor was white table cloth and neutral. I ordered a mushroom and asparagus soup, not realizing it was puréed, cream based, and contained crabmeat. Luckily, I'm not allergic to shellfish, but had I known this, I would have chosen something else. I don't blame the server for this oversight as the kitchen had failed to inform her. Aside from that, the soup was a putrid green color, and rather bland. The crabmeat did nothing to enhance the texture. A crostini, or better yet, some chopped mushrooms and asparagus tips would have made much more sense. For my entrée, I had a short rib ragu over wide tagliatelle. The dish was tepid on top and steaming hot underneath, so I suspect it may have been microwaved. It was quite under seasoned as well. While the short ribs were tender, they were cut into chunks that resembled canned dog food. Quite underwhelming and aesthetically displeasing. Meanwhile, my father had ordered chicken Parmesan over penne which was just short of inedible. The chicken was totally overcooked, rubbery and like my food, lacked seasoning. I tasted it to confirm. It was sent back and replaced with a large bowl of penne and marinara that was $16.00, only slightly less money than the original - outrageous for simple pasta and sauce. Our server informed us that from time to time, the restaurant received weird tasting chicken. If that's the case, I would suggest they look for a new vendor. Again, not her fault. To make up for our dissatisfaction, we were given 4 mini cannoli on the house, the highlight of the meal. This dining experience proved to be disastrous, which is a shame because there is so much opportunity to stand out among the glut of mediocre Italian places in South Jersey. Chef Mark has done it again. First da Soli and now Allora. Beautiful soothing ambience. His waitstaff is exceptional. Food, amazing. We started with the lightly breaded calamari and the clams casino. All entrees were delicious and beautifully presented. I chose the grilled filet mignon with peppercorn sauce, grilled veggies and super creamy risotto. Went by to try this local byob place we haven't been, in a location we HAD been. Glad we did! I was happy to still smell the garlic wafting by...good sign! Started with a Caesar salad (eehh) & forget the tasteless bread, but the main course specials were redemption! A perfectly cooked short rib with the best gnocchi I've EVER had - usually dislike the dense dough balls I THOUGHT were real gnocchi - these were lighter pillows of deliciousness! And if that's not "real" gnocchi, I don't care lol. Fabulous dish!! Hubby had the cioppino which was stuffed full with amazing & fresh seafood and he raved as well. Not a bad price for the quality and flavor ($30-$35 per dish) & far exceeded expectations! Portions were large so we have yummy leftovers. Well, not the amazing flourless chocolate cake...that was a goner, especially with our good bottle of red! Very happy we took a chance & we will be back! read more

Recently ate here with my family. Came highly recommended by a friend of mine as we were looking to eat somewhere different. It is in the Whole Foods strip mall. I've been there a million times and never noticed the restaurant so I was surprised when someone told me about it. Made reservations. We were seating promptly. Nice ambience. I've heard it can get noisy in there but we didn't find that to be true at all. The food was AMAZING!!!!!!!! It's difficult to find a place to eat that my entire family all agrees on and enjoys. We came here for Father's Day this weekend and overall our party gave it mixed reviews. It's a little bit of a hole in the wall in a shopping center, but the place is very big inside with a nice, aromatic open kitchen in the front. The appetizers that we had to start were great. We got the Clams Casino and the Mussels (Red), both of which I thought were pretty delicious. The bread was underwhelming for an Italian restaurant, but their twist on the standard bread dip was polarizing - vinegary with tomatoes. I loved it, but others would have preferred a more standard oil dip. To each their own I guess. As for entrees, I had the Tagliatelle with Short Rib and I thought it was fantastic. The sauce was tasty and not too salty and the meat was beautifully tender. The other dish that I tasted was the semolina dumplings with sausage and broccoli rabe, which I also thought was original and quite delicious. Others at the table weren't quite so happy, and felt that the cavatelli with arancini was bland. I also had a very tasty piece of Tiramisu for desert. Probably not worth the price (very, very expensive), but I'm happy to give Allora 4 stars on my experience alone. read more

I give 3 stars due to atmosphere, menu selection, and execution of the dishes, including the stale $9 cheesecake I had for dessert. I'd go back again, however, in my opinion, it's a little pricey for what you get and what you have to choose from. Their main protein was short ribs. Almost every dish featured beef short ribs. Nothing against short ribs, but meh. I want more variety. My husband and I split the Brussels Caesar salad, which was good, but due to how they reuse the same 1-2 ingredients throughout the whole menu, it made me feel like they just took leftover cooked Brussels sprouts from someone's uneaten dish and tossed them into my salad. I ordered the NY strip for my main. It was perfectly cooked, but featured a TOTAL LACK of seasoning. The bacon jam on top was good, but more sweet than salty, so the lack of salt was very apparent there. I didn't try my husband's dish, but you guessed it, it had short ribs in it. We had cheesecake for dessert which was clearly past its prime. Hubs ordered the apple walnut cake which was very good. I'm sure the desserts are not made in house. Decor was just as bland as the (lack of) seasoning on my steak. White paper over the tablecloths, and a crooked, precariously-hung heavy cotton curtain separating the back of the house from the front of the house. I thought it was going to fall every time a server had to pass through it. Little nit-picky, but overall this place is good. For price, I'd expect a little more, personally. read more

We just got turned away. It is 1 o'clock on a Saturday afternoon and apparently the restaurant is booked all day for events and banquets. No sign on the door as we entered. We just were coming to check this place out for lunch for the first time. There should have been a sign on the door. Instead we go inside and wait around for someone to seat us, just to be turned away. While yes I have not eaten their food. Reviews should be based on overall experience. Including wait staff, hostesses, atmosphere, even cleanliness of restaurant and bathrooms. Unless someone I know recommends this place. I doubt I will be returning. read more

This restaurant use to be our favorite BYOB. When Allora took over, we were apprehensive to try it. Wow!!! It surpassed our expectations years ago! We go there often and to our surprise our friend is friend's with the owners! Small world! Every meal and service is excellent! With COVID ruining indoor dining, we tried a family meal plan. We picked the chicken cutlets! It was awesome! The food was plentiful and served our family of four for days! It was so good that I reordered it for my "birthday dinner" instead of going out to eat! Too noisy! They need sound panels! So loud the server did not hear me ask if there was garlic in a dish. She responded that it did not have garlic. The dinner came full of garlic which I cannot eat. Management attempted to resolve the problem, but the rest of the party was already eating. We had already waited a long time to be served. My husband and I have been wanting to try Allora for a while. When we got there, they were cleaning up a party and the hostess told us 20 minute wait. We weren't sure about waiting and she offered us a cup of coffee while we waited. We decided that was nice and we waited. It was less than 20 minutes to be seated. The kitchen is open as you walk in, and there is a bar we sat at to wait by the kitchen. As we went to be seated, the kitchen staff cleaned up our coffee and told us to have a good meal. When we sat, we were greeted within less than a minute by our server. He was very nice and professional. He let us know the specials and when my husband asked what he recommended, he gave a few options and why they were good. The menu was great! Not too many items. And our meals were delicious! Definitely worth the price! Our drinks were always being refilled. There weren't too many staff walking around, but those that were working clearly had a good work ethic. No one was ever standing around. Atmosphere was exceptional. It was clean. Overall, 5 star experience! We will definitely be back for date night! read more

We shared a Fennel Chicken Sausage appetizer with a fig balsamic sauce...........delicious. Entrees were the Chicken San Marco and Pork con Fico......both very good. My friend and I decided to check out Allora one night and it was truly the worst restaurant choice we could have made. Our waiter, Christian, was flat out rude and dismissive. He seemed stressed and agitated about us being there. Like we were wasting his time. He rolled his eyes when I asked about specials and shoved our receipt on the table before we were even finished eating. We were planning on ordering dessert since we were already there and decided things couldn't get any worse, but once that receipt was practically thrown at us we got the cue that they wanted us to leave. We asked for refills on our drinks about 20 minutes in and he never came back, not even once, except with that receipt. I was at Allora last night for a surprise Birthday for my mother. The staff was amazing and the food was delicious. I so wanted to give this 5 stars, but sadly cannot. As the mother of 2 small children, you can imagine my shock and surprise to discover that there was no change table in the restroom to change my child's soiled diaper!!! I mentioned my shock to a staff member and she did apologize. When asked what I could do she suggested the floor in a hallway that was right in front of the kitchen!! I wound up changing a soiled diaper in my car in 35 degree weather! Bottom line, I will not be returning. I refuse to patronize an establishment that does not accommodate every guest, including he smallest one!! read more
