This place is right on top of a gondala station and has some fantastic views of the mountains. We went sorta late like 8:30 without a reservation but they were able to seat us within 15 minutes which was nice. They have a full bar, a piano player playing old rock hits, and a nicely decorated dining room that has a rustic feeling with views of the mountain. This was by far the best restaurant we tried in Telluride. Some of the plates are big enough to share for 2 while others you may just want your own. I shared a steak and it was big enough and tried some of their pork chop, both were great. The service was great, both the hostess and waitress were quick. Their creme brulee was fantastic as well. If your in the area this place is great place to have dinner. read more

True fine dining at Allred's. The location, views and ambiance are all spectacular and the food is second to none. My pork chops were prepared perfectly, as was my husband's tenderloin. We dined with our three children and their food was all excellent as well. They especially enjoyed the ice cream on the house! Our dessert was the most unique dessert we've ever had and was the perfect ending to our meal. Come for the views - stay for the cocktails. If you're looking for a somewhat less expensive visit to Allred's, visit the bar right when they open at 5pm to be sure you can get a table by the window. Those tables offer breathtaking views down the mountain of the town of Telluride below. If you like Manhattan's - they make a great one using Knob Creek Rye. Make sure to request the Knob Creek Rye though - as that is not their standard whiskey. The double espresso martini will give you an excellent pick you up if you're dragging. I don't even like coffee, but it's excellent with the cream and vodka! Along the old school route of cocktails, don't miss the Sazerac - strong & well balanced and served with ice on the side. Cocktail prices range from $12 and up and you can also enjoy appetizers in the bar which is probably wise if you're going to be drinking their cocktails. We hosted our wedding at Allreds, and everything was perfect. What better endorsement can I offer than that? We were delighted that our guests (from all of the country) noted that our wedding as the best they have ever experienced. We know that a big part of that was the experience we had, hosting our reception at Allred's. The view added a spectacular element to five star service and cuisine. Wedding food does not taste like this! They were very selective with the menu offered, so to guarantee that our 90 meals would come out of the kitchen in rather a short period of time, tasting superb. Carrie and her team were exceptional. I opted out of hiring a wedding planner (even though I am located out of Chicago) and the staff's organization, level of detail, and passion for hospitality made the process possible. Once we walked through Allred's doors, I had not a care in the world- Carrie and team anticipated every need of my guests before they did! Waiter service at the tables, was a touch that absolutely delighted our guests! I could go on and on about how wonderful the food was, but anyone considering holding their wedding in Telluride will need to stop by Allreds for dinner while in town anyhow (it's a must) and see for yourself. The Salmon (from Mountain Valley Fish and Oyster) was cooked perfectly. Several guests noted that the fillet was one of the best cuts of beef they've ever tasted. Our vegetarian guests were touched that they each were able to custom-order their meals. All in all, a perfect (I still can't believe its true) wedding experience. What a fantastic mountain top treasure! Allred's is located at the top of the Gondola and the views are breathtaking. We went up the free Gondola at 4pm and went to the bar which opens at 3. We were lucky to snag a table at the window to watch the sunset Alpine glow and the lights of Telluride turn on. The bar serves Happy Hour all night! A good selection of beer and wine and Happy Hour specials make the bar a super affordable treat to end your day. We had the chili and the lobster soup. The chili was thick and delicious. The lobster bisque had really good flavor but it did not have any lumps of lobster meat. Our server Ahra did a great job of taking care of a bar full of thirsty patrons and Mario the GM was ever present and helpful to all of the staff. Highly recommend. read more

To enjoy the view arrive early as we had 8pm reservations and it was dark but cozy atmosphere with a live pianist. We went on a Monday night and the ambiance is very nice. We were a group of ten and we were seated promptly and service was amazing. We started with truffle deviled eggs , marinated olives, porcini mushrooms and lobster bisque. All appetizers were amazing and we would recomend them all again. We ordered Bourbon Elk, Veal Raviolis, Salmon were all amazing. The truffle fries were out of this world. The duck, ribeye and beef tenderloin were average. Blackberry bourbon is a must to order!!! read more

Just had an unforgettable meal at Allred's which was recommended by a friend. Mario the GM said it best "If my customers just came here to eat they could eat at home." I'm giving them 3 stars cause the service and the menu prices have improved. Before it was way way overpriced, like one of those restaurants that you feel guilty for spending your money, rather than those where you want to toss your money to support them. The general manager greeted us and the service was stellar. The place had much better ambiance and music. The white linens and feeling that you can only whisper are both but a distant memory now. There is still much improvement to be had but definitely on the right track. Their apps menu is great! Smoked salmon and avocado, tomato and mozzarella salad, mussels, even the bread. The burger is great. Mind you, it's giant and they should put that on their menu cause for $14.00 you get a huge burger with Vermont cheddar and thick sliced bacon and fries however you like 'em. The staff and GM are working hard to earn people back. Let's give them a shot and don't forget you vote with your dollars. I do think it would be helpful if they did come around and ask about your food. I mean, they of course do that as part of any wait person's script but since they're trying to change the formality and bring people in, they might want some key peeps to chime in on how it's going. read more

Terrific place for dinner. My second time in a few years here, and the setting, attention to detail, and flavors are all superb. Warning, though. Their small plates are truly that. Views of Telluride are stunning! This is right off the gondola, or lifts, and yes, you can walk in there with ski boots on. Although, you might want to check them in the coat check to dine in the main dinning room as it is very cozy. Their tenderloin and pork chops rate #10, I don't know where they get their meat from; it has to be USDA prime. They have great salads and appetizers available in the bar which also has stunning views. read more

Wow! Great place we had our wedding reception here. It was a very small party in the private dinning section and the service was great! We had a cheese board to start, appetizers, soup and salad, main course, and finally a dessert. All of which was amazing. Great taste and everything was cooked just perfect! Gorgeous! Secret: make a reservation at 5:30 not 7:00 on a clear night - cause If you cant sit by the window and gawk over that amazing panorama - you may think more about the food. Although, there are no major complaints about what we ate - it is not special - just typical Colorado fare for BIG prices. I waited for YEARS to eat here, but either made reservations too late; missed it due to mud season closures or private events. But 2017 was the year for us and Allred's, and we dined here THREE wonderful times! The view is incredible; the service is above average and the food is very good. I was rubbed the wrong way regarding our experience with the wine on our most recent New Year's Eve-eve meal, and I can't say whether or not I'll be back. The sommelier picked an incredible bottle of wine for our group over Bluegrass weekend, so my husband again enlisted the assistance of their sommelier for our meal. I didn't feel as if this one had as extensive of a (layman's) vocabulary for wine. My husband asked for something "beefy", and she first tried to suggest a merlot, and then something "fruity", and finally asked if we wanted something that paired well with beef. We finally came around to a complex Bordeaux, and it was really quite nice. When my husband thanked her again for her recommendation at the end of the meal, she commented, "people think Bordeaux's need to be expensive to be good, but that's really not the case". It was a $140 bottle of wine, so I chuckled to myself that there are people who consider that to be a cheap wine. Well, I looked it up later to see if our local wine shop carried it, and it's a $36.99 bottle of wine!! I know restaurants double (or slightly more) the price of wines, but a 375% increase seems asinine to me! I don't mind paying a lot of money for good food and a nice experience, but I found the markup on this wine to be offensive. We might be back, but I'm really going to encourage my husband to stick with a glass of wine a piece next time! read more

Once of the best meals of 2016 for me. The elk loin, pork chop, tenderloin and salmon were fantastic, a fun noisy enthusiastic room, very nice architecture, and great service. A huge wine list with many grand cru french wines in the $ hundreds and low $ thousands. (We loved our $35 Falanghina). The brussel sprouts were so good, they could have been my entire dinner. A fun 10 minute tram ride up from Telluride, or 7 minutes the other way from Mountain Village. No car access. Highly recommended. read more

Amazing view! Great ceaser salad, corn chowder and desserts. Entrees (chicken and salmon) had no flavor and are highly priced. For higher end prices, most tables were filled with families with young children. Not sure where to start! This place is amazing. The food, the service, the drinks, the atmosphere. It's all equally great, which is hard to accomplish, especially at 10,540 ft. Usually there is at least one thing to make the experience less than perfect. Not so with Allred's. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. To be fair however, I'd credit a lot of our perfect evening to Paul, the bar manager, who made us the most amazing Rose Codigo cocktail. This is our second time to Telluride, and I'm sad to say we tried Allred's for the first time on our second visit. Our loss! The meal was so incredible, we actually went straight back the next night. A few tips... My husband and I had the same meal twice. The pork chops with brussel sprouts. My husband had the filet (beef tenderloin). Both amazing. Thanks for the tip Ren! Also, if you don't have reservations, don't let that keep you from trying to get in. We sat at the bar both times, which has open seating, and we heard people cancel reservations quickly in bad weather. Worst case scenario, you just hop back on the gondola, and go down to town if it's full. All in all, we can't wait to go back. Thank you PAUL for an awesome evening! Our family was visiting for the weekend and we were recommended to eat here by our friend and frequent guest. The restaurants website was down and they asked for call in for reservations. We called 2 weeks in advance to make a reservation for 4 for dinner. No one called us back for days, and when they did they left a voicemail for a one slot availability. We called back to confirm and had no answer. We left another voicemail to confirm, and never heard back. We showed up 2 hours early, the night of, and we were greeted by the hostess with a rude comment when we explained our situation and asked if they could accommodate us. She said no and that it was "impossible" that we called and basically didn't believe we had called ahead of time. We understand staffing shortages and pandemic changes, but were we're extremely disappointed by the low level of customer service for such. Highly recommended restaurant. She rudely turned us away and we will never return here. read more
