PEI Mussels in Cantonese curry and shrimp toast
George E.

Telluride Film Fest weekend and looking for a great meal in Telluride, Colorado. We had heard of The Grand from friends and locals, luckily we got early dinner reservations. Located on Main Street in a nice older building, the restaurant had a beautiful bar and floor to ceiling windows allowing you to observe the patrons cruising Main Street and to bring in the spectacular outdoors. The Grand appears to be a "go-to spot" in Telluride. The wine list is extensive, and the menu is divided into appetizers, small plates, from the garden and entrees. After taking a lap around the restaurant, there are to many selections I want to try and an entree was to much food. Quality over quantity wins over tonight. That was the perfect selection for an outstanding meal. We ordered from the appetizer; the crab artichoke cake with lump crab, pineapple mustard and chipolte butter sauce. A combo and flavor that was second to none. The PEI mussels with Cantonese curry, shrimp toast and cilantro was heavenly with a large quantity of mussels. Perhaps, more grilled bread to soak up the sauce is only a suggestion, but overall 10 /10. The golden beets salad with pickled serrano, citrus emulsion and blue cheese was a savory punch in the mouth that woke up the taste buds. An interesting and huge flavor bomb. Outstanding! Lastly was the Tandoori carrots with babaganoush, mint chimichurri and spiced marcona almonds. The carrots stole the show tonight with great taste, crunchies, and spectacular flavors never experienced before. Even though the portions were not large, each selection was a star by itself. Ordering small allowed us to try four fabulously delicious creations. If you are in Telluride, please get reservations and sit by the window for a truly glorious evening at The Grand. Congrats to the staff, chefs and creators of a very special menu. It was a "Grand" evening.

Hit up Telluride's newest restaurant, The Grand, over the holidays and it did not disappoint! Loved the décor! It had a nice mix of tables and cozy booth seating. Light fixtures were pretty cool as well...they were appropriately dimmed for a relaxing, comfy and enjoyable dining experience. Their wine selection is extensive and insane! Choose wisely! ;-) Ok, so on to the food! For starters we ordered fresh and tender Oysters on the Half Shell and a Crab Cake...cooked to perfection with perfectly seasoned bread crumbs and golden brown! For dinner we got a couple plates of the Butternut Squash Lasagna, the Cioppino and an 8oz Beef Filet. All were delicious and thoroughly savored! We shared a Coconut Cream Pie for dessert. I usually don't post photos of half-eaten food/dessert so that's a good indication that it was enjoyed by all! Our server, Kelsey took excellent care of us. She was friendly, attentive and professional. What else can I say, but we had a GRAND experience!

Wow wow wow; a million times yes to this place. I snagged a reservation for 5 and last minute 2…read morefriends wanted to join. I called the restaurant about 5 days prior to my Rez and they were able to accommodate adding two to my party. An already great start to my experience without stepping foot into the restaurant. The exterior and interior of the building are way cute but holy cow did the food shine here. My friend and I shared the French onion soup, the steak tartare, and the filet mignon entree. Literally all 10s. I would say don't skip the soup or the filet. The soup was so rich with flavor and honestly might be the best rendition I've ever had. The filet had this amazingly rich sauce and it was paired with bites of lobster. I haven't stopped thinking about it. The steak tartare was also so good. I've never had it before so it's hard to compare but I really enjoyed it! Our server was attentive and so knowledgeable about the food and drinks. I think his name is Bruce but might be wrong about that. I would say snag a reservation if you can cause this place is not to be missed. A well deserved 5 stars!

Turned out we had reservations on one of the last nights they are open before the Festival starts. They apparently are sold out during that entire festival to a large publishing company. We were in luck! It was one of the best (French) meals I've had since I was in Paris. I will just show you our meals in pictures. The service was impeccable. Steven, our server, was accommodating and professional. The ambiance was small and intimate. It wasn't inexpensive, but worth very penny. I would go back in a heartbeat. Next time. Made a French memory tonight in Telluride, Colorado.

Oh what a place!! The restaurant is the cutest little house tucked away on one of the side streets…read morein the town of Telluride. When we dirt entered we were greeted by the hostess and the sweet owner, Chef Eliza. She asked if it was our first time, after stating it was, she immediately told us how grateful she was that we were there. We were seated immediately and offered drinks from their fun drink menu. Nice wine list and their holiday cocktail was delish! Chef Eliza also came to our table to chat with us. She is so kind and friendly. She also brought us an amazing Shaved Brussel Sprout with Pecan Bacon & Apple Dijon, Apple Cider Vinaigrette, Focaccia- Brie and blue cheese... oh. my. Tastebuds! My husband is "not" a fan or Brussels or blue cheese. I had to fight him off for my fair share! Raving review from him. Entrees: Braised Bison Short Rib with Squash Purée and Salsa Verde Squash Relish, Parsnip & Candied Pink Peppercorn Wagyu Flat Iron Steak with Black Garlic Jus & Peri Peri Potato Pavé, Oyster Mushroom, Pickled Celeriac and Crispy Smoked Potato Skin BOTH ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The flavors were blended so well for each thoughtful dish. We are at several top recommended restaurants over the 4 days we were here. This beautiful restaurant was hands down the best!! Ambience. 10/10 Food.12/10 Staff and service 10/10 This is a must eat restaurant.
