First time here, restaurant is located in the Hotel Telluride. Not a large space, we sat down around 6:00 pm on a Sunday. We were the only people here so that was not a good sign. Who'd've thunk it? The West End Bistro (a tiny alcove off the lobby of Hotel Telluride) kinda saved the day for us after our foray into our reserved place for dinner proved to be too annoying for us. It was dead. It was clean and it was decorated in the western style of the hotel. The were a good roster of beers on draft and Chelsea made us great drinks. And she made it a point of involving us in a discussion with the chef to get our dinners tuned precisely to what we were after (for me, it was a burger cooked a certain way and also the addition of a house-made special serrano salsa - my mouth's watering just remembering it) - spectacular and yet very friendly service. Pricing was completely reasonable. With all the shi-shi silliness one sometimes encounters in "Telly," it's nice to know of another no-nonsense place where you can just get a solid meal. It might not be what a person seeks out for every meal in these parts, but I have a feeling we're likely to return to the West End Bistro. read more

This is located inside of a hotel just to the left of the lobby. It's a pretty small section and the night we visited it was pretty empty so not sure what took so long for us to get our food, we were a party of four. We chose this place specifically because they looked like they had some really great unique cocktail options on the website however they did not have a cocktail menu when we got there. We asked the waitress/bartender and she said they can pretty much make whatever we want, and that the website was, but she didn't have a lot of suggestions other than the typical drinks. If you're staying at the hotel, this is definitely a good option for food, but it's not something that I would go out of my way to visit next time I'm in the area. read more

This is the small restaurant attached to the Hotel Telluride which has about 4-5 tables inside and a bar. One of the other guests highly recommended it so we came down for breakfast our last morning here. It wasn't awful but it wasn't great. Our server was nice but super blunt. I got the yogurt parfait and was worried about the size and portion for $13 which is expensive for a yogurt parfait. It was a large serving of yogurt - probably 3 servings in the bowl - with a small amount of fruit and granola and nothing else. No honey, nothing. I asked for honey and cinnamon and they offered brown sugar as well. For $13 it could include more fruit and some honey or something to dress it up. My friend got toast and eggs. Said it was good but not great. I hear the biscuits and gravy is a giant portion and very good. We just didn't want all those carbs. read more

Poor, annoyed service. Only excuse would be that they were short staffed. We had a 5:45 reservation. There was only one other table sat when we arrived. The bar was full with 5-6 people. The Server gave us the impression he couldn't be bothered with us. Took our drink order and hurried off before we had a chance to order an appetizer. Drinks were not refilled without having to explicitly ask. My son ordered the burger and requested without onion. The server said, You can pick it off. Trying to make it simple in the kitchen tonight." He was happy to add the bacon for $3.00 but couldn't bother the kitchen with no onion. Because I was using a credit card I was told I needed to checkout at the hotel front desk. As I was in line at the front desk the other server came up to run the credit cards of the tables she was serving. Food was okay...the chicken sandwich and the Gyro were dry. Plenty of options in Telluride with better food and friendlier service. read more

Great service and food was good! The gumbo was good, though not quite gumbo on the way were used to eating. It was more of a broth based soup than a roux based dish but it was hearty, a huge portion and full of shrimp, rice, crab and sausage. My husband had the tenderloin steak, potatoes and veggie. It was a little undercooked and we hate to send anything back but they were happy to throw it back on the grill a little longer. A small, 8-table restaurant in the Hotel Telluride that delivers a great meal for a great price. The cheeseburger and (bountiful portion of) fries were tasty. Probably the best burger in town--and only $15. The Surf and Turf was solid and included a small filet, three scallops, broccoli and mashed potatoes--only $32. Definitely worth a visit. Decent breakfast. Server insisted on pointing out they don't usually substitute bacon for ham in their omelets but then proceeded to give sausage as the substitute. Maybe just say no if its that big of a deal and you're going to get it wrong anyway. Im in the industry and I don't understand this attitude. Our dinner was a mixed bag. For appetizers we got the burrata salad, Caesar salad, and calamari. The calamari were a bit fishy tasting. The burrata and Caesar salads were ok. For mains, we got a Wagyu burger, halibut and trout. The burger was solid, but nothing special. The halibut was pretty good as were the mashed potatoes. However, the broccolini was practically raw. The trout was also good, but it was on pasta with an Alfredo type sauce that was a bit greasy (not creamy). Finally, the service was slow as they had only two servers for the room and bar, which seemed overwhelming for them. The restaurant was adjacent to the hotel lobby and felt more like an extension of a lobby than a separate restaurant. So an average experience overall, but with Telluride prices. read more

We went here because we were staying at the hotel. I feel a bit badly for the staff as there is no signage, so people don't know they need to wait to be seated and they take reservations apparently. The dining room extends into the lobby too. The menu is simple, but hits all the points. They have a modest bar, beer, and wine list. My hubs and I split the soup of the day, which was cream of asparagus, which was so good. My husband got the burger and i got the surf and turf. The focus here is that the proteins were cooked PERFECTLY. We asked for rare, and got it. My steak was almost a tartar lol. Delicious. We also returned for the breakfast buffet, which was really good and had a bit of everything. The staff was very friendly, but seemed a bit frazzled for dinner service. Not sure I'd go if I wasn't staying at the hotel, which I never will, but if you're staying there, it's a great place. read more

Our condo we were renting was close to the West End Bistro. I ordered the BBQ Salmon with pineapple salsa. Best salmon I've ever had. My daughter ate the bruschetta appetizer for her dinner. We really enjoyed ourselves. The restaurant area of the hotel lobby is cute. It does feel a little bit like you're hanging out in the lobby of hotel but the food was delicious. We were absolutely delighted with this restaurant. Yes, it is very small and part of the hotel lobby. Yes, you do have to have your credit card processed at the front desk. But, the food was excellent and Josh's service was warm and friendly. Both the elk and halibut were excellent, but the teriyaki chicken was a standout (not expected in a ski town). We were offered a warm ride back to the gondola by the hotel which was better than dessert in a cold night! read more

I stayed at The Telluride Hotel and because it was cold and raining I opted to check out the restaurant there. It was a little concerning because there were only about 6 tables and not full at 7:00 p.m. Well I was happily surprised with great food. Our server was prompt and delightful. We ordered a cocktail and glass of wine to start with our baked Brie. It came with quite a few add-ons like walnuts that I'm not a fan of but overall good. My mother ordered the street tacos and they were nothing special but very affordable. I ordered the 5oz filet and it was delicious! Cooked perfectly at medium and tender. I added grilled shrimp for $5 and it was a fabulous addition. They had broccolini and garlic mashed potatoes as the chefs side. Was such a nice surprise and very convenient! read more

This might be the worst BBQ restaurant, although I'm sure there's always somewhere that can top it. But let me just tell you... the man at the counter used his BARE hands to grab two lemons and squeeze them into an empty cup when asked for lemons in our water. Not only did he grab them but squeezed them I cannot emphasize how disgusting that is during a regular year... let alone amidst a pandemic. The food was terrible- not much to say there other than the bottom piece of my bun was wet and soggy- I couldn't even finish my pulled pork sandwich for this reason. I could squeeze the water our of the bun... not even kidding. A lot of squeezing happening here. Now this is awful and made our visit bad, but I hoped the peach cobbler would make up for it... nope. Couldn't find a peach in the thing, the bread was burnt to the sides... only good thing was the ice cream... waste your money else where. OH I almost forgot.. when the man dropped our food off he just left if at the end of the table and ran, I had to physically move and grab my plate and my husbands to put them where they belonged. This is a strange place... some of the tables are scattered throughout the lobby of the hotel, which can be awkward. The food was mediocre, at best. I ordered the ramen & was disappointed (it was lacking flavor). Everyone at our table was underwhelmed with their orders. The tiramisu, however, was delicious. Worst service I have ever had. We needed to dispute our credit card charges after as the waiter charged us twice and lost a credit card but that was just the beginning. The one bright spot is that the food was amazing and if given different wait staff I think our night would have gone much better. I have never felt so unwelcome and so much hostility from a waiter. To begin we had an 8PM reservation and were not seated until 830pm but we are on mountain time so understood. Once seated we had to ask multiple times to order and did not end up getting done with our meal till after 10pm with a mostly empty restaurant. Before we got our meal our waiter asked if we wanted dessert because if not the staff wanted to go home. We had not gotten our meals yet and it had been over an hour of waiting at this point. Once we finished we asked to pay by splitting the bill evenly over 5 cards. The waiter said if we wanted to do this he would have to clear the whole restaurant before he could accommodate us. After it taking 15 awkward minutes for him to run our cards we mentioned that if it was an issue he can just charge one card. In the end he charged each card plus one card for the whole bill and lost one of the card causing us all to need to dispute the charges. It was so frustrating because the food was great and we were just going with the flow of slow mountain service on our vacation until the waiter got very hostile towards us. In the end we all left feeling horrible and awkward. I would not reccomend this place to anyone. read more
