Well, I'm alive and well, and I'm happier than ever! Over the last week, Chauntese, the owner of this company, and I have been texting about my planned project for the house (getting stuff mounted in my living room). We discussed the expected costs, the space, recommendations for what I would need, and I regularly sent her things to verify that I would be able to use them. Due to varying delivery dates, I had to even push back the day I originally planned to have this done, and it was fine! When the day finally came, she was wonderful. Her assistant, Joshua, was just as cool as she was. The project took about 3.5 hours, but trust me, this was not a "I wish she would hurry up so this can be over with" type of deal! There was conversation, there were laughs, there was education! I learned about her background, what got her into doing this kind of thing, and what her future plans are. I learned how to use my mount and I even got some advice on how to continue to improve the space as I continue to settle in. It wasn't just casual advice -- it was really helpful. If we weren't having fun and talking, the project would've been done much quicker, but I am glad things turned out the way they did. In summary, my time with them in my home was more than just getting my stuff mounted. I learned a lot and I will definitely keep in touch in case I need anything else. And thanks to the work of Chauntese and Joshua, I now have a living room that feels more like home than ever. After he began working, he discovered that the new chandelier was too heavy for the existing hardware in the ceiling. Ray left to go to the hardware store to get the appropriate parts and didn't charge me anything extra for his time - even though it wasn't his fault. I was extremely satisfied with the work he did. After he was done the work, I asked him about upgrading my electrical panel, something a general contractor had previously told me my house needs. After reviewing my electrical system, Ray advised against doing the heavy up. Turns out the older wiring in my house was the problem, not my electrical panel, so a heavy up wouldn't fix my issue. Ray could have easily perform the work I asked and billed me thousands of dollars for something I didn't need. I was very impressed with his honesty and candor.
