Warning: Do NOT BOOK with James, he is extremely rude and unprofessional. From the moment he arrived James was extremely aggressive, used profanity multiple times and was extremely condescending. He did not honor the price I was quoted and I ended up paying $480!!! For a 1-story with 4-bedrooms, no stairs. James threatened over text and called multiple times which frightened me! He also did not give me prep instructions to vacuum, nor did he answer my questions. When I asked how long until dry. He replied: "Gosh do I have to repeat myself?" My 1st technician was Joe who was very nice. I was quoted $320 for 1st job and was told the 2nd cleaning would be cheaper since no stairs at new house & repeat customer. James arrived for 2nd job but did not honor my repeat business quote from colleague, and because I was moving out and limited on time- James took advantage and up charged me an outrageous amount. I booked after reading the reviews, but I don't want anyone to feel unsafe with this man in your home. As a woman, I was lucky my husband was there to protect me... I don't understand how he has been in business this long. Worst customer service experience EVER !! *Attached: Pic of James text as proof of him threatening me. James was great to work with. A few years ago we were flooded and at the time our office only replaced the padding. The carpet never seemed to stay clean after that. When I first reached out, James was very responsive and had great pricing, so we set up a day while we were out of town. My carpet has wicking from over wetting when it was cleaned. James accused me of walking on my carpet after he cleaned it which is not true. He sent another tech out to fix the problem and it seemed ok immediately, but over time the stains came up deeper and deeper. I don't want to have anything to do with this company. read more

Really disappointed. After reading all of the reviews I was excited to try them. While the guy was very nice and sociable . I know our carpets were atrocious. When he was done we were happy with the cleaning. However our carpets were so wet water came up when you stepped on it. We had our AC running and box fans to dry the carpet. It took 3-4 days to dry. It started to smell moldy. Called the company and received a text back saying nothing was wrong I must've turned off the air and didn't have windows open and that I would have to pay for another cleaning. After paying $300+ we had to have another company come and redo our carpet's Incorrect James. After the initial contract on 5/25 @ 4:51. The appointment was set for 6/3 @11am. I called you June 5th @ 1:03. That's when received your text at 2:32pm essentially blaming us. Water was literally coming up when we stepped on it. We had to lay towels down. In any event the situation was ultimately remediated. read more

OWNER REFUSED TO WEAR A MASK WHEN IN MY HOME. I have used All Star twice before and never had an issue until November 2020. I thought they did a great job. Previously just the employee (nice guy) did the carpet cleaning. However, November 2020 the owner decided to assist. In the past I let the employee know that I have 3 indoor cats/3 small dogs and want the door to the home shut as much as possible. This was the first issue. I reiterated to the owner to please keep door shut as much as possible. The owner told me "we need to have the door open." (Said with an attitude) To which I responded "the door does not have to be completely open-please keep it as closed as possible. I do not want my cats to get out." He had the door all the way open. I got A LOOK. I felt as if this guy was pushing me. Second issue: The owner & employee did not have a mask on. I said, "please wear a mask in my home." The Employee complied the owner did not. The owner told me "I have asthma and my wife has one kidney." I told him "I am sorry to hear that however in my home all people wear a mask." I told him my elderly Neighbor lady/friend died of COVID. I watched her suffer and die at Sutter Hospital in Antioch. See picture. RIP Pat =( He told me he would wait outside. I sprayed my home with Lysol after he walked out. As his employee was finishing the owner came back into my home this time wearing a mask. Third issue: he made a statement that I found odd. I have 3 small dogs they were cordoned off in the kitchen. He looked at them and said, "you have a little WHITE one, BROWN one and BLACK one." As a middle-aged white man, I felt an undertone that struck me as disturbing. It was the way he said it that said volumes. Just an FYI on my garage door I have a sign stating I believe in Black Lives Matter, equality, equity and tolerance. Also, I had my Biden/Harris lawn sign up on my front lawn. MY OPINION-this guy does not like BLUE. ; ) It felt as if he walked in after viewing my signs and was baiting me in MY HOME. Remember when just the Employee (a man of color) did my carpets all was fine. Actually friendly and professional. I will NEVER have an argument in my home with an anti-masker. MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY in MY HOME WHEN I AM PAYING FOR A SERVICE. My requests were not outrageous. Next up white one, brown one, black one?? What? Am I missing a yellow one and red one? None of my friends, family other Service professionals have ever said that. Just an FYI my little Yorkie is not completely brown. So there was definitely more to that comment than what was said outright. Read into that. I will NEVER USE THIS Company again. A woman of color (Review in 2017-Teacher who lives or lived in Pittsburg) made the same observation about him. 3. It would be interesting to see how he charges people. *I have delayed posting my review as a friend of mine suggested waiting, so I could watch for signs of mold or mildew, since the carpet was left so wet. When I touched the carpet you could actually see water on my hand . We immediately turned on our 2 large 68" ceiling fans as well as our pellet stove. *The technician was wonderful, hard working and very focused on doing his job. Our carpet looked brand new when he left and he scotch-guarded our carpet free of charge since he only cleaned one room, which was nice. *However, the following morning we woke up to large, ugly, yellowish-brown areas and spots, as well as 3" high "small hills" which looked like a topographic map. We continued to keep our fans on the entire night and the pellet stove on until 11:00 pm The temperature of our room was 82 degrees. * The following day I called the owner of All Star Carpets and sent pictures of the ugly, dirty looking areas and spots on the carpet. He responded with a text stating, that he had brand new equipment and he knows the carpets are not that wet, as they dry within 24 hrs. The carpet didn't dry because the house fan was not on (not true, we had our 68" ceiling fans on high for 12 hours a day) and the windows were not open. (They were not open because it was 45 degrees at 8:00am and 42 degrees at night.) He also said that, "What I'm looking at is something that happens where there are pets." (We haven't had a pet in this house in 10 years, and the pet we had NEVER had an accident on the carpet. Also, we had our carpets cleaned on a regular basis. It's not our fault!) His last comment was, "Never use heat to dry a carpet", which in all the years we had our carpets cleaned it was often suggested to turn on our heater, and "Never walk on them until they are completely dry", which we didn't do. He did say he would come out the following week, "To put a rinse on the carpet, but we cannot have this same situation happen," as if it were our fault. I wasn't thrilled at the thought of putting more water on our carpet. *He did come the following week to do the rinse. He walked in looked at the carpet and said, "This doesn't look so bad!" I said nothing because I was so upset. I did put my hand on the carpet to show him how wet it really was .When I showed him how wet and drippy my hand was, in a condescending tone he replied, "You think that's wet? Have you ever had your carpets cleaned before?" I replied, "Yes, many, many times, and this has never happened." He turned around and walked out. I then took a white paper towel, placed it on the carpet and placed my hand on top it. My hand print on the paper towel was soaking wet! I have pictures but I couldn't get them down loaded. I will never recommend him! *I did look up on the computer, "What causes yellowish-brown areas and spots to appear on a carpet after it's been cleaned?" What happened to our carpet is called Wicking. "Wicking occurs after carpet cleaning when there is excess moisture and cleaning solution. The use of too much moisture and detergent when cleaning, can initiate the wicking process when the water and detergent seep into the base of the carpet. Wicking only occurs when the carpet is wet. The process draws water from the backing of the carpet, gradually moving it towards the tips that can be seen on the surface. This movement brings with it particles of previously embedded dirt and grime that becomes visible as a stain." read more

Response to rep's review: First, i submitted service request to no response. Second, i called... still no answer. Third, called again... no answer. Fourth, called again and got a weird text back but still nothing. Why i even bothered contacting that much?
