    Tiramisu - enough for 4
    Sharmeela S.

Beautiful space with gorgeous views. We dined in a kiln which was a very fun experience for the group. The bread service was fun and i loved the chicken milanese. Our service experience was slow unfortunately, but luckily we had a flexible group and had cleared our schedules for two hour dining experience. The tiramisu is well done and the portion accomodates sharing. It's a nice spot for celebrating an event. Valet parking is $5.

We were seated in the old kiln- definitely a unique dinner location. I enjoyed my time there, but for the price point, I probably won't return. I tried the pistachio pasta. The sauce was creamy and nutty, a wonderful combination. The pasta was perfectly cooked. When I ordered wine, the waiter misinterpreted which glass I was asking for and brought me a $17 glass versus the $13 glass I had intended to order. The wine was good, and it didn't seem worth bringing up over $4. The bread was good, but $17 for bread is a lot. I would prefer if they had the option of a half order. All in all, a good experience, just not among my favorites.

It's a 5 star restaurant priced like a 6 star restaurant. Seriously, I have zero complaints about this place. It was a fairly quiet Tuesday, plenty of tables seated, but it was never packed. We split a Caesar, which was delicious, my friend had the spaghetti special, I had the short rib. We had one glass of wine and two beers total. Pre tip was over $140. It's just fully priced. I don't feel like it was too much, but it's certainly not a place you will walk out of and say "wow - they over delivered for the price" The short rib was perfect. When I saw the size of the cut, I was concerned. Really tough to get good short rib this size and also perfectly trimmed, but they nailed it. It was beautifully plated, and the sauce and polenta were exactly complementary to the meat. I love this building. Tons of memories here over the years. Glad it's reopened. Hopefully there's enough demand for this high end restaurant to survive.

We decided to come back and try again and were pleasantly surprised we had a better experience. Becky was our server and she was nothing but kind and genuine. If you go, ask to sit in her section! Our apps were great, the arancini was a special and I'm glad we tried. They were cheesy and the sauce on the plate paired well. The pizza was good with the garlic on it. Gave it more depth. The pork chop was cooked well and the pasta had great flavor. I had the lavender lemonade and it was a great mocktail for the night! Im glad we were able to try them again and have a better experience!

Ok, we've had a few new Italian places open lately but this one hit it out of park. Came tonight, fyi, valet parking, but sure there's free somewhere. So cold, don't care. Greeted right when we got in, decent ambiance. Kind of weird entry but seated with our reservation. Haven't been to Rookwood in forever so can't remember exactly what it looked like but bet it has great views with light out I would assume. Our server was Hannah who was super sweet and made sure to come back to tell Us they did get in gorgonzola olives for our martinis Order bread service and like other reviews, get it!! Also, asparagus salads, and a Caesar. The asparagus salad is one of the best salads I've ever had, hands down. Add a protein and I'm good to go. Also ordered the pancetta. Super good but other things outshined. (Asparagus salad) We had rigatoni, linguine genovesse, and the pistachio dish, forget the name. Perfectly cooked pasta and flavor. So hard to get al dente correct but they did. The Genovese was surprisingly my fav. So much flavor. Who thought shaved ribeye would be good in pasta? Food excellent, ambience a solid 4. I could nit pick things but overall, worth it. Can't wait to go back!

Early seating since it seemed they're really booked up on weekends. Let you know at the start, it's pricey! It's in the old Rookwood Pottery building. We were seated near the old giant kilns. (You can get a table in the kilns for a larger party) As for ambiance, nothing dazzling. There is a patio that is probably used in warmer weather. But no great views from the restaurant. Nice view of downtown Cincinnati from the parking lot! "Bread service" is their "1,000 yr old starter" 8 pieces of very tasty bread, for $17. Yeh. For bread. Wine, $17 a glass. Really good, but $17-$20 a glass. We split a Caesar salad. The dressing was not quite as creamy as I'm accustomed to, but still had good flavor. The croutons were way too crunchy. Yeh, I know, some folks like them crunchy. But these were VERY crunchy, to the point you couldn't stick them with a fork. And I was seriously concerned about cracking a filling while eating them. Suggestion to Al Lupo, if the waitress suggests splitting a salad, and the customer says they'll take a salad and split it, the restaurant could put it in two plates instead of the customer doing it at the table. Just a suggestion. My wife ordered the lasagna and I ordered the Garganelli Bolognese. Nice size portions. Unfortunately, both dishes seemed bland. Now, I'm not saying they weren't spicy , no, these dishes usually aren't. But it just seemed there was very little flavor to them, almost like the chef forgot the oregano or something. Hate to say it but I've had better. We didn't get dessert so we can't speak for that. We did order coffee. An Americano. Literally scalding hot, but once it cooled down it was really flavorful. Wait staff was good. Our waitress was training someone, so was shadowed. She was good, had decent knowledge of the menu. However, for the prices paid, I cannot say this is a "go to" spot. Sorry folks.

Top-notch Italian food is the highlight at Al'Lupo, and the sweeping views of downtown Cincinnati from its Mt. Adams location make it all the more enjoyable. It is located in the old Rookwood pottery building - which gives this restaurant a lot of history! There is a dedicated parking lot and also street parking available. We ordered the bread service- I was curious if the price was worth it. And YES- it was. The bread was phenomenal as well as the premium olive oil and butter that was served along side. They have an extensive wine list as well as a full service bar. We had the Caesar salad- which was served with a Parmesan cracker- the dressing was super flavorful, creamy and just the right amount of salty to make it taste delicious. For the main course we ordered the garganelli bolognese and the bucatini carbonara. Portion sizes were generous. The homemade pasta was yummy. The carbonara sauce was balanced and creamy while the bolognese sauce had a delicious complex flavor. The prices are moderate. Definitely a good addition to dining in the area.

This restaurant is going to be a top dining destination in Cincinnati. Created in the former Rookwood Pottery space, the interior design is incredibly unique and full of history. The food is authentically Italian, and has gourmet touches from the skilled team of chefs. They also have an extensive wine amd cocktail menu. You can get pastas, apps, Neapolitan-style pizzas, and hearty entrées. This is a great spot for a date night or celebratory dinner.

We were so excited to try this restaurant, partly because we had our rehearsal dinner at Rookwood Pottery 32 years ago and couldn't wait to revisit. The inside of the restaurant has been redone beautifully! Now, onto the less positive part of the review. Our service was very subpar and the food was not good. My husband ordered the special which he said was just OK and I ordered the short rib which came highly recommended by our server and she even said you could cut it with a spoon because it's so tender. As it wound up, I could not even cut it with a knife! It was super tough and even cold. We had waited close to 40 minutes for our food at this point so then the server asked me if I wanted something else. After 10 minutes of waiting for her to bring back the menu, we flagged down the manager who brought a menu over to me and I ordered the gnocchi. It was just okay - not worth the price tag that they had put on it of $36. I feel like the portion size does not reflect the price tag for their entrées and sides. The people at the table next to us were also very unhappy with their service and their food. I hope they can get it together so that another restaurant does not close down in that space but I'm not sure I will spend my money there again!

The Italian spot is in a great spot in my Adams where you aren't fighting for parking . The server was efficient , and knew the menu well . Ambiance and the bones of the old restaurant is still here . They even retired a few private rooms which was nice . However , to the bad. I was there for my birthday dinner and it was just okay . The risotto was over cooked so it was mushy. I had the lamb shank and risotto special . You can almost tell from the photo . Thread was fine , but I really liked the butter. I was a little underwhelmed. I will go again in a few months so I'm not writing them off . It just was great. See ya next time , go yourself and let me know.

Celebrated my mom's retirement at Al Lupos and could not have had a better time! We started with wine and the Caprese. The Caprese came out different than we expected (no bread), but the layers of the dish were so good. I always love burrata! We both ordered pasta for dinner. I had the Bolognese and my mom had the Linguini All Genovese - wow! Both were so good and we loved we had some to take home. Our server was fantastic! We are excited to visit again!

Tables just a few inches apart. We had a table on the other side just as close.

Unfortunately not the best and probably won't be back. It's very hard to compete in the Italian realm and Al Lupo missed the mark for me. 1st: The tables were annoyingly close! When I got up to leave I could barely squeeze out as a slim woman without getting my coat in the next tables food. So it made an intimate dinner feel so odd. The building was beautiful but the set up ruined it. 2nd: Slow. Each course and drinks were very slow. We got a dessert to go because of the pace and even that was slow. Our waiter was good and very kind, but explanation of the menu was incredibly lengthy, we tuned out. That being said-all of our food came out correctly. 3rd: The food was just ok. I got the truffle pasta. Make sure you LOVE truffle. It was rich. My boyfriend got the genovese (rib eye pasta) and said it was also just ok. Everything also seemed overpriced especially compared to high end Italian in the area. TLDR: The building is beautiful, but not enough to overpower just decent food at a high cost with slow service. I know they are new, but giving this two stars because improvements are needed.

Because it is so exxxxxxpensive, this is not a restaurant you casually dine at. But since it was my sister's Bachelorette weekend, my group of 7 treated the bride-to-be to a luxurious dinner here in May 2026. And she had a wonderful experience! The interior is gorgeous, elegant, and smells amazing. The staff is professional and runs with the efficiency of a Michellen-starred restaurant. I always enjoy watching a staff of 7 deliver the table their food like they are performing a choreographed dance. I ordered the cheapest drink on the menu - a yummy local beer from MadTree for $7. The others had much more expensive cocktails that were $20+. You won't have to worry - while their food menu is small and selective, the drink menu is HUGE. They surprised us with glasses of in honor of my sister's upcoming nuptials. That was a lovely treat! I kept to being a cheap-o and ordered the $18 "Arpege" salad as my main. It didn't have any meat but it had a lot of cheese! Yum! Others ordered more substantial mains like the scallops, the beef tartare, the halibut, etc. All were plated beautifully. I had a bite of the bolognese, and while a small portion, it was superb. You do have to pay for bread service but it is unlimited refills so on $8, the 7 of us went through 6 loaves of bread and 6 trays of delicious salted butter. I personally probably had 2 loaves on my own. My god, it was the best thing I ate the entire trip! After we ate our mains, we then ordered a variety of desserts. Most of us got ice cream (get the strawberry!!). My sister and another girl got the famous "candy bar" dessert and the cheesecake. I had a bite of the candy bar and for $15, it was the most dense candy bar ever! Sooooo much chocolate! I'll end here but with tax and tip, we paid about $630ish. My portion was $51, by far the lowest of the group. I got out relatively cheaply because I filled up on bread but feel free to treat yourself and indulge a bit more!

It was all delicious, service was wonderful, vibes were beautiful, and I felt the food came at a good value for what we ordered. Mainstrasse in Covington is an experience and Mama's is part of that! We sat outside on the patio to take it all in- highly recommend in nice weather. The building itself is beautiful and both the inside and outside feature artsy details in the decor that I really appreciated. My favorite was the mismatched plates, which were darling and cozy! Our waitstaff was quick and friendly, allowing us to order all at once and bringing things out with great timing- quickly, but not until we finished a course so we weren't rushed. We appreciated getting in and out relatively quick as we had a sitter at home. We decided to go a little all out and try a lot of items together. First, the focaccia and ricotta was enjoyable but not my favorite bread starter I've had. It hit the spot but I wasn't raving about it like another one of my favorite whipped ricotta starters across town. The arancini, however, was fantastic- probably our favorite thing we ate. Hot, crispy, and paired with a delicious spicy marinara that was super standout and flavorful. Next we got the stonefruit panzanella, which was beautiful and really yummy. The burrata was delicious in particular and while the cherries and peaches weren't the best I've had all season, they worked well together in this dish. For our entrees, we split both the chicken parmesan and the limone pasta. The chicken parmesan was huge, we both had a large piece even after it was split. The pasta had that delicious marinara from earlier and we really enjoyed it, which is saying a lot for a simple marinara spaghetti. The chicken was very thin and crispy. I liked the limone even better- it was very lemon forward which can be hard to achieve in a creamy sauce. We only wished we tried more shapes of pasta because it's made in house and the spaghetti was the perfect level of al dente in our opinions. We were super full, but ordered the cookie platter to finish the meal. We split a couple of the 6 cookies that came in 3 varieties, but took the rest home! The chewy almond/amaretto cookie was our favorite and really unique. My husband also had an old fashioned and commented that he liked it a lot. I would have expected this much food to come out to much more than it did- $100! I feel that is a great value for a special occasion considering we were stuffed and tried a ton of menu items. Overall, this was such an indulgent and fun experience and I'd highly recommend Mama's to anyone who is looking for a yummy Italian experience with comfort food classics in a fun, cozy Covington setting.

About 15 minutes passed and they ended up ordering dessert (slowly), so it became clear they weren't leaving anytime soon. The manager offered us a different table and apologized, but Lola had been really looking forward to the chef's seating since that's specifically what we reserved. In the end we waited about an hour, which was frustrating, especially since the other party could clearly see we were waiting. Overall it was an awkward situation to be in. That said, the staff handled the situation very kindly. The manager offered Lola a tour of the kitchen and the chance to meet the chef. My daughter was a little nervous and wanted me to go with her, but it seemed like the invitation was meant just for her and they didn't want adults in the kitchen (I get it!). The manager noticed she was scared and took her hand and walked her through the kitchen which made my daughter feel at ease. It was a thoughtful gesture and they were incredibly apologetic the whole time. Again, it was just an awkward situation overall. Plus we were starving. The food, however, was fantastic. The pasta was made from scratch and tasted incredibly fresh. The eggplant parmigiana was excellent, and I especially loved the "Via-misu." Despite the long wait, the staff was so kind and apologetic that it actually made us want to come back and try the experience again.

Via Vite is an Italian place right on fountain square in Cincinnati. I really enjoyed everything I…read morehad here! For appetizers, I had their arancini, veal meatball, and octopus. I really like the arancini and meatball but did find the octopus to be overly salty. For entree I had their bone in short rib and a peppered pinwheel sausage as a side. I really like both, but my one knock on it was that the sauce used for the short rib was pretty strong
