They have a great 3 course pasta meal deal that I got last time but I remember seeing the Pork Milanese on another table and I knew I had to get that this time. We started our meal with fried brussels sprouts that came with large chunks of pancetta and a apple cider reduction. All the flavors worked well to balance each other out, we attempted to recreate this delicious combo several days later at home. Next came the Verdi insalata, which was an arugula and watercress salad with apple, pistachio and balsamic, a refreshing followup to the brussels sprouts. Next came the massive pork milanese, it's a show stopper. The breading is impossibly crunchy and not oily at all, while the pork was juicy and flavorful. There was a citrusy fennel salad on top and that paired really well with the fried pork. Every course of our meal exceeded our expectations and I am excited to come back next time to see what's new on the menu.

I really think the flavors this place serves are up there with north end restaurants, maybe even better. $36 pasta special is an unreal deal for the quality of great food you get. I've been a loyal fan of haley.henry for years and have recommended this spot to countless friends,…read moreso I was really excited to finally bring a new coworker here. Unfortunately, this most recent visit didn't live up to the high standards I've come to expect. While a few dishes hit the mark, the majority of our order was a letdown: Tinned Octopus: Surprisingly chewy and lacked seasoning. Mushroom Toast: The texture was rubbery, and the flavor was completely drowned out by an aggressive amount of balsamic. Beets: Had a very overwhelming cumin flavor that threw the dish out of balance. Roast Beef Slider: Served cold and felt a bit uninspired. It's such a cute, intimate space, and I've had so many wonderful nights here in the past, but the execution was just off this time around. I'm hoping it was just an off night, but it was definitely disappointing given how much I usually love this place!

The wine selection is excellent and thoughtfully curated -- whites, reds, bubbles, orange wines, and more, so there's truly something for every palate. My friend and I both ordered a red, and it was absolutely perfect. Our server was super friendly and attentive, and she even offered a few samples so we could try before committing to a full glass, which we really appreciated. For food, we shared the hot dog with fried oysters to pair with the wine, and it was surprisingly delicious and a fun, elevated bar bite. Overall, the experience was fantastic -- great wine, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Pricing is definitely on the higher end, with wine glasses around $20 and the hot dog at $14, but the quality and experience justify it. I'd absolutely come back for another wine night.

You must order the kale salad. I am not a kale salad person, yet I have dined here three times in…read morethe last week to eat the kale salad and am already planning my next visit. You know when you're eating a kale salad and the pieces are too big and you're kind of cramming them into your mouth and then the salad dressing is all over your face? This is NOT that salad! The kale is perfectly chopped so you can enjoy it with just your fork as you talk to your friend/spouse/date or just read your book. The dressing is such perfection, and the perfect amount, no gloopiness here! Crunchy breadcrumbs add magical texture and then there's a shower of finely grated gouda cheese on top. Have you ever read a good book and as you're reading it, you're so into it that you don't want it to end? So you slow down your reading speed to make it last a little longer? That's how I feel about this salad. There are other delicious items on the menu, I saw someone eating the burger that looked so good, I also want to try the Brussels but the call of the salad siren is too strong. Everyone is super welcoming and friendly, especially Catherine, and the kitchen team even shared the dressing recipe with me. Excellent wine list, casual and cozy space with twinkle lights, a lot of bar/counter seating, great date spot. Also attached/sister company to American Provisions I believe (great spot in Southie for sandwiches, cheeses, wines, pastries, rare food items).

I absolutely ADORE this place. It's one of my top 3 places in all of Boston. The vibes, the food, the wine, the prices, EVERYTHING is 10/10. This is one of those places where I feel at peace because I feel like my money was 100% well-spent. The prices are fair, and I don't feel like I'm being taken advantage of. And the FOOD, the food is exquisite. My favorite time to go is on Tuesdays for the $1 oyster deal, definitely my favorite $1 oyster deal in the city. They mostly have small plates and a few large plates, but you seriously can't go wrong with anything on the menu. And the wine options, amazinggggggg. Gray's is a true gem!

The Fermentary carries other local breweries' beer - Widowmaker, Vitamin Sea, Stellwagen, etc. They also carry all natural wines and have some snacks to munch on (the pretzel and queso are really good!). They made some nice upgrades. It seems brighter and maybe more seating. Only "negatives" we've seen are that they are very heavy on IPAs (mostly double and triples, the couple times we've been), which isn't too bad for us, because we really only drink IPAs, but if you're looking for a lager or an ale, your options might be limited. Also, they don't have cable, so if it's a local game you're trying to catch, you'll be out of luck. Notice they've had some events held there - seems like it would be a great spot for that (nice open space with fireplace and tv). This will definitely be our go-to for a laid back afternoon/early evening, quick drink or two. Definitely check it out!

About 25 tables, but not tightly packed. Felt like an Italian restaurant where you might just share with the table nearest you. I could order nearly anything on the menu. Awesome and terrible with a time crunch! We started with the focaccia bread, which was delicious. We saved some and I'm eating it now. Then it was Splitsville: I mean we split a salad, bolognese and chicken parm. Garden/House Salad was described as fresh, what the kitchen could get, flavorful and colorful. It was all those things and didn't disappoint. Chicken parm was not fried. Was Bell & Evans chicken breast not beat to hell. Was plump, juicy and flavorful. Maybe the best I've ever had. Bolognese was equally good. I'm glad we split everything so we could each try a number of different options. We were out on time and never felt rushed if you can believe it. Excellent service and pacing to go with the excellent food.

Had a lovely server named Erin who did a fine job taking good care of us. Just before the meal ended I told her I did not want any extra charges on my bill because the last time they put some kind of admin fee I think is what they call it at the bottom of the bill. Well she said she was unable to do it because it was a policy in both of their restaurants but that she would send over the manager. He arrived and explained that the charge was TO HELP COVER THE COST OF THEIR IMPORTED GOODS LIKE CHEESES AND OILVE OIL.. and something about the tariffs... and they haven't raised their prices for 2 years. Well maybe you should and stop the additional charge. Don't know about anyone else but I am not interested in paying for a restaurants cost of goods or the cost of running their restaurant in general. He did remove it but not before telling me he did not like the way I spoke to him. Personally I don't believe that's why he said that but it was more he did not like what he was hearing. He was young and will gain more wisdom at time goes by. Wishing them all the best but we will not be back

I didn't understand the hype then, and I especially do not understand it now. My taste may have become more discerning in the last six years, possibly because I am no longer a broke college student. Then and now, Comella's was fine; it wasn't the flip-flops served by a place that rhymes with "Abdominos," but at the same time, it was absolutely nothing to write home about. My friend is less adventurous than I am, so we settled for mozzarella sticks and a cheese pizza. I was there primarily for the company, not the food. The mozzie sticks were OK. They had a decent crust/breading, and the cheese had some stringiness (that "grab on and pull"). They could have used more herbs/spices in the coating to liven them up. Similarly, I found the tomato sauce a bit bland. These feel like a middle-of-the-road store brand prepared in the air fryer. (Not saying that's what they do, just what they feel like). The pizza is similarly lackluster. The crust is nicely thin, with a fair amount of cheese and sauce that stays in balance with the crust. However, the tomato sauce was dull, and the cheese was plain mozzarella. While trying to avoid sounding like a broken record, some herbs or garlic powder would have been amazing. Also, considering how quiet it was, the service could've been more attentive. The calculus for a broke college student going with the flow and someone having graduated is different. While I definitely wouldn't have minded Comella's in my college days, now I don't feel the pull to return. While there was nothing glaringly wrong that would reduce their rating to two stars, there is nothing remotely special to have me choose them over the tens, if not hundreds, of similar places closer to me.
