Tiramisu
Jessica B.

Gorgeous restaurant. Whoever designed this place did a fantastic job giving it an old money/art deco/Gatsby-era vibe. The floor-to-ceiling window wall opens up onto the patio section which overlooks the Neponset River. Views are lovely and the atmosphere is so peaceful. However, the food is shockingly mediocre in relation to the whole scene here (and mediocre is generous to say). My friend and I ordered the eggplant rollatini to start. Half of it was COLD and the other half luke-warm. Makes me think it was a microwaved dish. For my entree, I ordered the bucatini & meatballs. The bucatini by itself was good pasta, but the bland sauce and meatballs ruined it. Both were lacking flavor and meatballs were so dry, they were crumbling on my plate. We ordered the tiramisu cake to share for dessert, which was easily the best part of my meal and what I'm giving 2 stars for. I would only come back here to sit outside and have some drinks, but can't say I would recommend the food here :(

Great food and beautiful location for outside dining. Did not realize every sunday night there is live music. Ordered the buratta and focassia bread with dipping oil. Also martinis! Friendly staff as well. We will be back. Next time want to try a pasta dish

I think I have to go a full 5 stars cuz things were great. We started with crispy polenta and goat cheese at about $13 which was delicious. Would have been nice to have 4 not 3 triangles. We both drank the 10oz mini carafe of house Pinot Grigio which was fine ($12). I liked the wild boar bolognese and my friend's carbonara w shrimp added on was delish ($26 and $34 w the shrimp). As was the tiramisu. Nice bar area, spacious pretty restaurant and nice servers.

Ambiance is dope, servers are quick and the spot has nice outdoor seating outside! We came here for dollar oysters (which are at the bar only). They were busy with private parties etc and i can see why people like it. The oysters were fresh and not briny with all your condiments you'd normally want but would have to ask for tobacco. Comes with lemon, radish, cocktail sauce and vinegar! I think this would be the main thing i personally come for, hear the drinks are also good too but i wasn't sipping today. The fritte calamari (which is my favorite appetizer at any establishment that offers it) tasted fresh, some of the breading wasn't able to stick well. The rings were bland but the tentacles had all the salt haha. The pasta was the carbonara i thought the pasta was cooked well, the bites that had bacon in it were good. The chicken was on the edge of dry but still thought it was good to go. The sauce i thought was nice, but without a bit of bacon it it could probably use a pinch more salt and pepper (none were on the outdoor seating but that's fine) finished that dish! Our server was good, had a small issue and she rectified it quickly! Thank you! Would come back!

Our first time. Looking for outdoor seating for Sunday lunch. Gorgeous outdoor patio! Faye waited on us. She was incredible from beginning to end. It has been a long time since I could say I had a perfect dining experience: this was very close. I highly recommend this place! Great food, great drinks exceptional service!

Alrighty, so I came here tonight for dinner with my family & it was pretty busy during dinner time, 7pm. What we ordered: -Rigatoni pasta with "spicy vodka sauce" & breaded chicken -meatballs with bucatini -chicken parm bucatini -two salmon dishes -mussel appetizer -tiramisu dessert Thoughts: Food isn't that good, everything could use a bit more seasoning. One of the salmons that we ordered arrived raw still. Wouldn't have been a big deal if it was sashimi/grade A but anyways, we had it sent back to the kitchen. When it arrived back to us, it was still raw... Had to send it back a third time. All of the dishes we ordered took an unusually long time; when we arrived, they were quite busy & packed but as we sat and waited for our food to come, the place started to empty out a bit. The salmon was taken off the bill & we were offered dessert for this inconvenience. The last time I came here to eat (for their daily raw oysters), I had encountered an issue too. We had been charged full price for the oysters even though we were told we would be getting them for $1/each.

We are a group of 4 that enjoy trying out new places ....found this online and rated 4 stars here. ...My rating is a lot lower The restaurant is located across from Baker Chocolate ...bottom floor of a condo building. Very limited parking. I had to park in entrance to MBTA parking lot about 100yds away. Hostesses and waitresses were super. Apps were burrata and eggplant rollatini. Burrata was ok but rollatini was super dry with no marinara sauce. Focaccia was cold ... Entrees were Bolognese which I'm told was good. I ordered the chicken Parm with homemade pasta. Huge piece of chicken with mozzarella on top over ziti. I had ordered the homemade Rigatoni but got Ziti. No idea where the disconnect was. Desert was a flavorless limoncello cake and ok cannolis ... Biggest issue was a cockroach walking down the wall right behind one of us. I notified the Mgr and hopefully they remedy this issue. Overall the atmosphere and help are fine. The food quality needs an upgrade. It's a one and done for us.

Wild Boar Ragu

This place turned over a few times before it became Madre but it's always had so much potential in a great location on the water. The patio is really cute and they redid the dining room so it's much more appealing now. Love the bar area and they have $1 oysters at the bar every day! For apps, burrata, meatballs and eggplant rollatini are all great. For entrees, the wild boar ragu is delicious and so are the chicken marsala and salmon. Love the house wines that come in a carafe - great deal!

Every dish tasted so fresh and full of flavor, and the whole meal felt warm and welcoming from start to finish. We got: FRESH BREAD WITH HUMMUS AND OLIVE OIL Complimentary and absolutely delicious. The bread was warm and soft, and the homemade hummus paired with olive oil was smooth, flavorful, and such a comforting way to begin the meal. Simple but done so well. FRESH OYSTERS Juicy, briny, and incredibly fresh. Each one had that perfect ocean flavor and needed nothing more than a squeeze of lemon. Such a refreshing starter. BURRATA Served with grilled vine ripe tomato, basil pesto, roasted red pepper, and a drizzle of balsamic reduction. The burrata was creamy and delicate, the tomatoes tasted bright and sweet, and the pesto added an herby richness that tied everything together. Every bite tasted fresh and vibrant. FRIED CALAMARI Crispy and tender with a fun twist from the banana peppers and olives. The extra tang and brightness from the peppers made the dish stand out, and the olives added great depth. A really unique and delicious version of a classic. LINGUINI WITH CLAMS Fresh local little neck clams with extra virgin olive oil and roasted garlic. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the broth was light but full of flavor, and the clams were sweet and tender. A comforting and beautifully prepared dish. PIZZA MARGHERITA San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil, and fresh parmigiano. The cheese pull was truly epic and the thin crust made this one of the best pizzas I have ever had. The sauce was bright, the mozzarella was creamy, and the crust had the perfect crisp and chew. So simple yet unforgettable. INSALATA ROMANA WITH MARINATED STEAK TIPS Romaine hearts with Caesar dressing, parmigiano, and croutons topped with tender marinated steak tips. The greens were crisp, the dressing was flavorful, and the steak tips were juicy and perfectly seasoned. A great salad that felt hearty and fresh. Everything at Rozafa was delicious, generous, and prepared with so much care. Service was fast and so friendly. We will definitely be back.

You know when you're eating a kale salad and the pieces are too big and you're kind of cramming them into your mouth and then the salad dressing is all over your face? This is NOT that salad! The kale is perfectly chopped so you can enjoy it with just your fork as you talk to your friend/spouse/date or just read your book. The dressing is such perfection, and the perfect amount, no gloopiness here! Crunchy breadcrumbs add magical texture and then there's a shower of finely grated gouda cheese on top. Have you ever read a good book and as you're reading it, you're so into it that you don't want it to end? So you slow down your reading speed to make it last a little longer? That's how I feel about this salad. We walked into a warm, energetic space with dim lighting, an open dining room, and a constant buzz that makes it a great choice for a night out with friends or a date. The restaurant has a vibrant, social energy that encourages sharing and exploration, and the open layout adds to the sense of activity without feeling chaotic. Rather than ordering individual entrées, the experience is centered around sharing a variety of dishes, making each visit feel a little different depending on what you choose. The tapas are the highlight of the menu, with plenty of options that encourage trying a little bit of everything. The bacon-wrapped dates are one of the signature dishes, balancing sweet and savory flavors, while the patatas bravas, croquettes, and charcuterie boards are reliable choices to start the meal. If you are looking for something more substantial, the seafood paella and squid ink pasta stand out as excellent main dishes, offering rich flavors and generous portions that are easy to split between two or more people. The olive oil cake is also worth saving room for if you want to end the meal with dessert, and the overall progression of the meal works well with the tapas format. The drink menu is just as impressive as the food. Wine is the main focus, with an extensive list featuring Spanish and international selections, but the sangria and cocktails are equally popular. It is the kind of place where you can easily spend a couple of hours sharing plates while working your way through a few different drinks, and the beverage program is thoughtfully curated to match the style of the food. Service is one of the restaurant's strongest points. The staff are knowledgeable about both the menu and wine list, and dishes arrive steadily throughout the meal instead of all at once, creating a relaxed dining pace. The pacing allowed us to enjoy each dish without feeling rushed, and the team checked in at the right moments without hovering. The restaurant is consistently busy, especially on weekends, so reservations are highly recommended. Even with a reservation, there can occasionally be a short wait, and the lively atmosphere means the dining room can get quite loud during peak hours. The energy of the room is part of what makes the experience work, but it is worth keeping in mind if you are looking for a quieter dinner. Barcelona Wine Bar is one of the best places in Boston for Spanish-inspired tapas and wine. The combination of flavorful shareable dishes, a well-curated drink menu, attentive service, and vibrant atmosphere makes it an easy choice for group dinners, celebrations, or date nights. It offers a meal that feels both communal and polished, with a setting that encourages slowing down and enjoying the evening. Just be prepared for the energetic environment and plan ahead if you are visiting during the busiest times.
