Boat House Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They remember me when I dine and know what I like to drink. The food is delicious with variety from pastas, meat and fish. The owners are very friendly and make rounds amongst their customers to make sure they are satisfied with their meal. Nice place. Food was wonderful, service was great, and our waitress was very engaging. However, this establishment shares a problem with so many other restaurants, which is a musician that plays loudly enough to be heard in Boston. I've never understood why restaurants think it's a great atmosphere if diners can't even hear each other when they're sitting right across the table from each other. If so-called entertainment is a constant, I doubt that I'll be returning anytime soon, if ever. read more

We had the best Easter brunch. Boathouse did not disappoint, from start to finish the staff made our holiday!! We never felt rushed. Food was delicious, and the place is just beautiful with an amazing view!! Location is nice right across from the water. Atmosphere inside is lively but not to too loud, pretty modern with bar, high tops as well as tables, good TVs. We went on a very busy day and were able to get an online reservation so we were seated quickly. Service was a bit hit or miss, pleasant but couldn't quite hand the amount of people, as drinks and water refill was lacking. Menu has some good options, as our food was tasty however as with many now, very overpriced and not worth it for a family. Appetizers (arachini) was very small and Mac and cheese very non special. According to front desk at Nantasket Beach Resort, their hours will change to include dinners once they get their liquor license. Nice staff, lovely seaside decor and good food. A recipe for a successful business. We ordered an appetizer of mussels in white wine with garlic. (Spicy marinara was the second option) Perfectly cooked bivalves accompanied by crusty bread for sopping up the garlic broth. There were more than enough for a single person to .ake it a meal in itself. Thinking we'd need more to eat we also ordered a specialty pie, Spicy Sausage Pizza. It has sausage, banana peppers, spinach and feta cheese on top. Great chew to the pizza. Great flavor. Wonderful meal. Unsure about parking since most of the area is catering to those going to the beach. There is a lot across the street and another down the block. Since I am a tourist I had already been parked and it wasn't a problem. Staff were pleasant and personable delivering food, chatting with diners and bringing any additional items for your meal. Would I go back? Yes indeed. Was a perfect crust on the pizza and a great bowl of mussels with many options on the menu. Hopefully when they extend their hours and the seafood portion of the menu will be expanded. read more

Went to them when they were in Hingham and menu is definitely more expansive here. I ordered the filet wrapped in prosciutto with gorgonzola butter - perfectly cooked filet, but the rest was a disaster - there was some sort of gravy all around the dish (surrounding the mashed potatoes) that had a salisbury steak gravy taste to it - really took away from the gorgonzola butter and overpowered it. Also - asparagus was tough - that comes from it being really thick - would talk to vendor about that. My husband had the salmon tacos and enjoyed them - good flavor. Joe was amazing - he's got a great personality and your bussers/runners were on top of their game! read more

Food - good 2.5/5. Calamari was probably my favorite of the things we ordered... super crispy & yummy. The mussels were good too, but nothing to write home about. Pizza was good. Service was not the best 2/5, but giving some grace as our waitress seemed very stressed/overwhelmed and later shared that all the college kids just went back to school and how this new location is so much bigger than the last. I've been going to Boathouse Bistro for about 6 years, including. Hingham Shipyard. Their food is superb. The service is exceptional. It is family owned. Eating at the bar is fun and so friendly. We now go there every week. Parking can be a little challenging on the weekends during the summer. We always manage to find a spot, but it can take a few minutes. Their M-T-W special exceeds anything within 10 miles.It ends June 10th and I hope just for the summer.​ read more

Was able to get in on a Friday night in the middle of dinner rush without a reservation! Tried the margherita pizza with prosciutto and the truffle fries. Was served quickly and both were decent. The drinks were super strong and the restaurant was a little loud but overall great dinner spot. read more

Pizza was out of this world! Crust was light and crunchy but not too thin. The meatball appetizer was perfect . Two big delicious meatballs in the best tomato sauce I've had in a while. On top of this the service was great. Highly recommend this restaurant. I'm definitely coming back! read more

We had a great Easter brunch at the Boathouse yesterday! It was very busy, but the food and service were excellent as always. My granddaughter was very excited about the omelette station. We had a last minute change to the headcount in our reservation and they were very accommodating. Watching the wild waves out the window was an added bonus. The people were nice but they way over booked for Easter. They should know when serving buffet style for Easter that people are going to stay for quite some time. Waited about half an hour for our table with a reservation. They did apologize. Buffet style food, ran out of carving beef ran out of the nice desserts brought out cookies. Their new location is an improvement and the menu is better than what offered prior in the Shipyard. Busy bar of locals, casual plus, on first visit just scoped place out sat at small table in bar for a crown royle on the rocks, good pour, not sure I like ice used with drink , but ok, is what it is. Dining room ( but you can eat in bar area) is neat,clean, and good views of Ocean of course including those seats on front porch. Second visit Food... Wings , I asked for extra crispy, and that Parm & garlic treatment. Not for me, awful, wings are swimming in the butter garlic sauce, paid for it because just because I hated it, it might be someone's 'jam' 1.0 maybe BBQ better ? Pizza, this was main reason we went. We try all pizza places inside 15 miles that look desient from the outside. Anyway, only large available ( did see small kids pizza). We order cheese pizza , asked for light cheese as in amount on pizza. It came out looking great on the edges , but the top WAY to much oil. After first slice, we said , that's it, but here is the thing, the CRUST is the best ... I'm talking 4.5 crust. Anyone from area might remember the pizza at Red Sky.... Great pizza before they closed. Why, It was the same crust. I knew that they bought the dough from local bakery , and here it shows up at the Boathouse. I asked if they bought it or made it, bought answer, which is perfectly fine. After a bit , the oil on top sunk in, we cut off the tips in middle and ate the whole pizza... A solid 3.0 that's pretty good for us. If they did less oil, this pizza would be one of the better pizzas in area hence the 3.0. Service was good read more

Started off with a dirty water glass. Ordered salmon tacos with mango salsa. There wasn't much salmon and it was like beef jerky. The mango was diced in tiny pieces and was hard as a rock. The only thing that wasn't skimpy was the sauce on top....it hide the taco ingredients so you couldn't see that that it was mostly lettuce. Not a pleasant experience. The Boathouse Bistro is a very welcome addition to an ever expanding selection of places to go to in Nantasket. For those seeking an unobstructed view of the water; they have it. Outdoor seating? Yes. Huge bar area with lots of TVs to see the season's games? Absolutely. Reason enough to check it out - but the food and staff will seal the deal for good. Italian specialties done the old school way - and new twists on old favorites ( a chicken piccata sandwich, for example). The owners have been doing this for over 10 years, and their experienced staff know how to keep things moving along. But be warned - you may find a wait for a table, so if you're not into the being at the bar, best to make a reservation. They run a very tight ship ( sorry) and as a Hingham resident, it has taken over as my favorite place for a glass of wine and an appetizer, end of the day sunset spot ( and even better for the moonrise) and dinner. They even have weekly deals for dinner, totally worth looking into. With a gluten sensitive family member, the pizza and pasta are available GF, and the kitchen can manage requests on almost the entire menu. read more

We stopped in last night for a quick bite before a show. Got 2 seats at the bar. Folks at bar were pleasant, chatty. Bartender, young, cocky, sarcastic. Ordered a salad to share. Asked about it twice as parties on either side of us got their food, including couple beside us had one pizza, ordered another, got it and we still waited for our salad. 40 minutes later, still nothing. Couple gave us slices of their pizza as they felt terrible we still waited. Bartender was cocky about it, chatting it up, on his phone. We told him after trying to get his attention for awhile we needed to go. Started getting our coats on, he arrives with the salad. It was very disappointing to say the least, 4 small pieces of chicken on an oval platter atop some field greens $24.00. We told him we had to go and we would just pay for drinks. Mgr then came over and asked what the problem was. We told her, we waited too long and had to go. She said we waited 22 munutes since he put the order in and that was not too long to wait and we had to pay for the salad and they would pack it up. Holy toledo! We said, no thank you. We were now late for show. Customers on either side of us at bar werd appalled as well. They knew we were there over an hour. The bartender never put the order in is our take. He never admitted it, nor apologized. His comment was, well, did you want raw chicken? My sister gave the mgr her credit card and she took it, threw the card across the bar and said" just leave, you're disgusting." I have never had such an experience in my life! Always tip 20% plus..eat out frequently..this ranks number one in offensive behavior and staff who have no business being in the hospitality business. Later that day, at a local art store we chatted with a woman about our evening and how much fun we had at C-Note. We told her Boathouse Bistro, not so good..bad experience. She has a disabled son and was treated poorly there with him. I hope people boycott this place and a kinder, profesional staff who enjoy the hospitality business replace these owners and staff! Arrived for dinner on a Thursday evening, and the place was packed. The bar was full with a good group of locals and a nice group of new faces. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and our wonderful server Amy. Both Tinka and Amy gave us 5+ service. The Caesar salad was plentiful and had a homemade dressing which we found to be very good. We ordered a pizza which was thin crust pizza perfect amount of cheese and cooked to perfection. The other dish was the eggplant rollatini which is an appetizer but ordered as an entrée.. I'm finishing the rest for lunch today! I'm looking forward to going back and trying some more of the dishes! read more
