While in New Mexico we were looking for a good place for breakfast and we found it. The service was fantastic very friendly and we felt like family. The food was great and it was very inviting and clean. Overall a great spot. It was so good we went back with our son and his fiancee. Different server but same outcome. Come to Alma's and feel at home.

While on a recent adventure I ended up in Artesia NM for the night. Never one to let a new location go to waste, of course I tapped into the Yelp consciousness to find a place to eat. The reviews of Alma's were promising. Unfortunately, my experience was not on par with what I read. Walking through the door, the ambience was very plain, almost boring. I decided to stick around after seeing one of my favorites on the menu. When I lived in Tucson AZ, I loved when I could get barbacoa (beef cheeks). When done right, it is amazing. Alma's was not done right. It lacked any real flavor and was very greasy. Very disappointing. All I ordered was the burrito platter and it set me back $14. Ouch. It had beans and rice and a burrito. That's it. No other accouterments. For the price, this was underwhelming and overpriced. On a positive note, the service was good and friendly. Granted, I only tried one thing and I won't be through here again but based on my experience I would try someplace different given the opportunity again.

Cleaning place, they even wiped each chair's back carefully! Food is delicious here except guacamole. Portions are big, enough for two to share with some sides.

Good, large portions. The service was attentive. The decor is new industrial style and attractive. The chips were the very best served with salsa.

Great food and service! They hooked me up with a good breakfast based on my food allergy restrictions. Service was really nice.

*** the Zia Latte was fire ***…read more My daughter and I stopped by Kith + Kin Roasting before a long afternoon with a doctor's appointment in Roswell back on April 8, 2026. This hip cafe is located in downtown Artesia, NM near the Veteran's Memorial. The service was nice enough and very efficient in getting orders out. Lots of seating and I liked the lighting inside... not too bright, not too dim. They sure know how to make a good latte here. The Zia Latte ($5.90 for a 16 oz) consisted of "cayenne + cinnamon + cloves + cardamom + ginger + nutmeg + honey." It's so heartwarming and delicious. One of my favorite lattes in all of New Mexico! My daughter opted for a hot cocoa ($3.60 for 12 oz) and a house-made blueberry jam muffin ($3.80). I did not try the cocoa but she said it was "so good" and they made it to her liking, kid's temperature. The muffin was fantastic. Order at the counter. Pay. Take a number. They'll bring your items out to you. Check them out along with their hours before you stop by: https://www.kithandkinroastingco.com/

Ordered a chai tea latte. Came out quickly and boy could I taste the spices in that chai! The pepper kicked me in the face for sure. Not bad just unexpected and strong. When I come back I will try something else it was just too overpowering for me. I might have asked for a remake of something else but what to get back on the road. They had a great selection of muffins, scones and breads. Ice cream too! Wish I had time to hang out.

Wonderful dining experience. The employees are great with great attitudes. The following is a…read morehumorous review but the employees are solid great people, nothing against them. The FLETC Artesia employees have aprons with a logo very similar to the Chick-Fil-A logo, to remind everyone of the fine dining experience. Review: This outstanding restaurant / dining hall is part of a "members only" known as FLETC; entry is controlled via ID check at the "guard shack" of the FLETC campus. To gain access to this VIP club, one must pass a membership screening, background check, medical and physical exams, and be personally interviewed. Once membership is granted, you can eat here, for FREE. Inside are wonderful options, such as bins of corn dogs and onion rings under heat lamps. One can utilize the many plastic Lubys-style trays and eat unlimited corn dogs. A salad bar exists, often with "fusion" salad dressing in which the Ranch dressing got spilled into the Vinaigrette dressing by some BP trainee who is exhausted from PT earlier that day. Only here is "grilled chicken" performed without a grill. The chicken will be retrieved from a pot of hot water, with perfect grill marks imprinted on it. For those who consider mineral and salt intake important, this is the place to be. Onion rings, bacon slices, french fires, are all on the menu. Crates of bananas will be found (either all green, or all brown) near the cash registers, for those who want their potassium. Please be cognizant of the dining hours, as part of your FLETC club membership, you may be enjoying a club-sponsored fun event that day, such as "range", "PT", or "driving." Some events, such as "range" are so fun that it may finish 15 minutes before closing of the dining hall. PT may begin so early that you must eat breakfast at 6AM. Please note that even though the dining hall lists 6AM as "open", the lady with the key to the front door will not walk to the door until 6:05AM. Also, "pro tip" - check your forks. Many forks are flatter than the butter knifes. When you pull them out of the silverware bins do a "press check" on them. Also, if you (see "range" comment) end up arriving late, plan on eating your pork chops or chicken breast with a soup spoon, all the knives and forks are used up and dirty and thus not available. Do not waste precious time pulling napkins from one-by-one from the dispensers near the tray pickup. Instead, use the napkin dispensers near the cookies and pie area, and use the two-handed method, grab the TOP of the dispenser container, pull it forward, open the dispenser, and grab a stack of napkins for you and your classmates. This two handed drill can be done in 2 seconds, remember smooth is fast. Good luck and thank you to our HEROES who are FLETC members. If anyone planning to go check the prices first. I wish I could give better. But no sadly no. We…read morecame here my husband, sons and me. It was in Jan. We wanted to eat good Mexican food, sadly we didn't like it and left with not a good taste, specially when we got back home from our trip I looked at my receipt and compared the prices and all were off. And servers need to speak English, and stop speaking Spanish when no one of my family speaks Spanish. We order a molcajete they forgot the chorizo , we asked for it and we regretted to ask for it. That was not a good chorizo didn't even look like chorizo. Looked and tasted like can pet food. One of my sons order a Carne à la Tampiquena what a bad choose. The meat was hard and usually a tampiquena has grill onions , grilled poblano or bell peppers did not have any. I asked the server said doesn't come with it. What? .... The other two kids order combos and rice was not good. So going back to the price. The peces on the table menu, online menu and our printed receipt are way off. I have pictures I compare apples to apples only with our dishes we paid for and we got over charged about $7.00 not a lot but is quite extra. What made me check the prices? When we asked for our check the server came and said is this much holding the credit card machine. I said can I see the bill? She rolled her eyes printed the bill and give it to us and walked away. I looked and just wanted to make sure we have the correct items we order. She came back we paid even give her tip after all. Then we got back to our hotel to finish our trip..... Back home I did check each and I was very unhappy with this place. Never again. OWNER of this place needs to Review all prices from each menu platform. We didn't have beers, makes me think this place is over charging anyone consuming alcoholic drinks.
