Stood me up for an hour. I requested a quote from 5 professional roofers on a 6000+ sf roof replacement project. SGRB was the only one that couldn't show up on the day we wanted everyone to come and inspect to bid. We made a special time that would work for them - Sunday 10-11 am - so they would have a chance to bid on a $40k contract. This is an apartment building. So I had to stand outside in the sun with double mask for an hour. Finally after calling them 3 times to make sure someone is coming, I received a call back at 10:58 that I'm sorry we are running late. And I told them I do not need them any longer. If you are busy - good for you - but don't wast my time. You didn't know you're going to be late till end of the appointment window. That is an excuse I do not buy. And I don't want to do business with you. read more

Stay away from this roofing company. We used this company to re-do our roof in summer. It had so much trouble, but they finally got the job done. Very bad workmanship. It's done, and I didn't even want to waste any time to write a review until the rain yesterday. They didn't clean up well after the work and left trash, roof tile pieces stuck the rain gutter. Since the rain gutter is stuck and it created a water leak problem. Stay away from this company. read more

After I posted my review Ben the supervisor called. He offered to fix the mistake they made. The flashing covering the weep holes of the door was removed, the water damage inside was repaired BUT the door warranty is now void. I'm so thankful for this company! After doing much research and getting quotes from different places for our complete roof replacement, their price and quality for work and materials could not be beat! Ben and Isaac have been extremely professional, responsive and true to their word -which is a rare thing in the construction/remodeling world. If we had any issues or questions, they were quick to respond and help remediate. They seriously went above and beyond in their work, we really felt like we were their top priority. Living in Culver City can be especially difficult with obtaining permits and successfully passing inspections, however this company kept on top of things and really did everything right and by the book. Having just bought an almost hundred year home, there were quite a bit of issues and work to be done, and because I loved their roof work so much we even asked them to redo all our old windows and HVAC installation/removal of old gas floor/wall furnaces! They gave us a really good price with every job we needed done. Additionally, we plan to do a big project of expansion and they've been so great to work with especially in regards to going to the city numerous times to obtain permits, create a beautiful architectural designs, and keeping our budget. I appreciate how they take pride in the quality of their work and how they won't compromise by skimping on cheaper materials. Even my parents plan to use them because they were impressed by the quality and lower cost of the work they did on our home so far. OK but not OK. I should say Not Good. Magically he quoted a super high price. Seemed annoyed when I told him that it was super high too high for us to negotiate anything, by thousands and thousands of dollars. So high that it instantly made me throw up :). Asked for a bid, when compared to other licensed contractors it was the highest price but a huge difference. I would say if you get a bid from them be aware of the potential high price, outside the market place. read more

We just finished one of the wettest winters in Los Angeles in recent memory. During a massive rainstorm in January I had a leak in one of my ducts from my roof and water was dripping into our hallways. I was doubtful I could find ANY roofing company to come and fix the issue since they were so busy no one was even picking up their phones. The ones that I did reach made it seem like I was bothering them and they would be doing me a favor for fixing my issues. When I found SoCal Green they answered immediately and at no point did I ever feel like my job was a "burden." They were polite and helpful and were able to call me back and schedule me within a few days of when I called, which to me seemed incredible. When Ron came out to look at my roof he was amazing and informative and explained to me exactly what was going on and how they will fix the problem. They quoted me a price that was extremely reasonable and *the next day* they came out to fix the roof! I called in the middle of the rainstorm looking for someone who could help me with a leaking roof. From the moment I called, I spoke to Blossom and she was very helpful and above all else very friendly. She was able to set me up with an appointment the next day which was amazing because everyone else I had called was either not working in the rain or didn't have availability for weeks. I set up my appointment and they immediately texted me the appointment information which was great. On the day of my appointment, I got a text saying Osh was on his way and he also called to let me know his ETA. I found this super professional and helpful as I had to leave work to meet him. Osh did a very thorough inspection of my roof and was able to give me a quote for the repair on the spot. His price was very fair. I had an idea of what I was going to be spending so that's what I budgeted for and Osh even beat the price I had in my head. I promptly received a written estimate as soon as he left. I will 100% be doing the work with Osh and SoCal Green at the end of this month when all the raining finally stops and then I will come back and put up pictures of my repair. So far I LOVE SoCal Green and have already recommended them to multiple friends who also discovered they had leaking roofs after the big storm this week. I reviewed at least a half dozen quotes for our roof as the bids were coming in much higher than expected. However, the costs were very close to each other so my cost expectations were obviously outdated LOL. Dana Solomon at SoCal Green Roofing & Builders provided a middle of the road quote, but her knowledge, professionalism, personality, and product quality convinced me to use them for our roofing project. Due to SoCal Green's qualifications with Owens Corning, they were able to provide me with a 50 year transferable roof guarantee, when less qualified companies were only going to provide the standard 30 year guarantee using the same product. Dana listened to our concerns and provided us with the best solution for our needs. Dana kept us appraised throughout the entire process from Solar panel removal to re-installation using their sources which, by the way, did not compromise the remaining warranty on our panels. The roofers were easy to communicate with, were courteous, and cleaned up each day making sure no nails or debris were left on the ground. They even cleaned the gutters before they left! I had a good feeling from the start with Dana, and it continued through the process. Our house looks great again, doesn't leak, and is much cooler inside due to the new shingle technology; great for the air conditioner!
