Maui the bartender is rude and likes to grandstand in front of everyone if he has an issue with a customer rather than trying to handle it discreetly. I've seen him do this to others, not just me. It's like he cares more about appearing macho/cool and confrontational infront of his regulars, than he cares about handling any given situation. He also appears to be unable to understand the difference between "talking politics at a bar" and "talking about literally history from 100 years ago". Never tried the food but heard its good. Ambience is kinda grimey which isn't necessarily a bad thing for a dive bar. Most of the rest of the staff is great. read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review for ATL...been coming to this iconic dive bar for years while living in Roseville. I moved away but was in town for a family celebration and on Friday night me, my daughter and her BF were looking for something to do. We were staying up the street and I knew the exact spot we needed to hit. This place is exactly how I remember! Walking in it's pretty dark and that's what you expect at a dive bar. What is and will always be the best part are the super stiff drinks and the always friendly staff. This last Friday night did not disappoint! What is also great is on Friday nights is karaoke night and this is always a great time. Not only great music but this is when the locals are all here. My daughter and her BF had such a great time and I am so glad I decided on the ATL for our stopping spot. read more

Dive Bar in Roseville CA Once my friend mentioned that Almond Tree offered Loco Moco on their breakfast menu I had a spur of the moment craving for this Hawaiian dish... in 30 mins or so we were both sitting inside a dimly lit dive bar. I'm just glad Belinda was game and kept me company LoL! We met at around 5:15p and the tables were pretty empty. Oh the place wasn't empty, there were people alright... they were either around the bar area or inside the enclosed smoking room. This dive bar is known as the "Cheers Bar of Roseville." Although I wanted to try some apps from their Happy Hour menu I really came here for the Loco Moco. Happy Hour is Mon - Fri 3pm - 6pm and Late Night Happy Hour from Midnight - 2am. Loco Moco: the presentation was pretty and some of the locals even came up to us curious asking what it was. The portion was just right for the price of $14. Everything was good except we both agreed that the meat was a little tough. It is usually served during breakfast but just so happens the cook that makes it was there tonight so we were able to order it. Our waitress came by to take our orders. She was nice and friendly but we saw her far and few in between. She was also the bartender so she was busy. No entertainment on this Wednesday evening... Signed up for yelp to leave a review for another bar, but wanted to say this is probably the best bar between Sacramento and Auburn, and you'd never know about it if nobody told you. The crowd is vibrant and engaged and even though I mostly kept to myself felt extremely welcome by most of the patrons. The karaoke stars and the interaction between the stage and the audience are reason enough to go. It's a little meat-markety after 10pm but what place isn't I don't live nearby now, but I miss this place often. read more

Fantastic little dive bar in the middle of Roseville - such a great gem to find. Great for happy hour or for catching up w/ friends. There's a smoking lounge in the back/outside so even if you're a non-smoker, it won't really affect you. Beer prices are reasonable, but their selection is a little more limited. Not a big deal, they are trying to be as low frills as possible. Great service with friendly and attentive bartenders. Parking is plentiful in the grocery store lot it's connected to. "Meet me at the tree!" It'll be epic. Best dive in Roseville by a mile. Karaoke Wednesday through Sunday, good food, and good drinkies too! They have an indoor smoking area, completely sequestered from the rest of the bar, for those to partake. I've yet to come back here with a cigar but one day! ;-) I was first introduced to this place a few years back when we had an after party here with a big group of folks. The Tree is more than capable of handling such a group but I do warn on weekend evenings it gets packed once 8 pm rolls around, especially with the dance floor and karaoke. AND the promise of bomb ass food including wangs, pizza, various fried apps, and steak! I generally enjoy coming here. The crowd is usually easygoing regulars, the drinks are cheap, the bartenders are brilliant and quick with the refills, and there's plenty of room to sit at the bar or at tables. We were visiting from out of town and somebody who was staying at our hotel recommended almond tree for a good steak dinner and it was just a three minute drive from where we were. This is a bar with karaoke dancing and of course drinking my friend and I don't drink, and, when we walked in there was only one table left and I think we might've been the only people in the whole place that were eating. The food was awesome. The waitress was attentive and the crowd was friendly. We thought we were gonna go just for dinner, but we ended up staying dancing and even did a karaoke song. We both had the steak dinner. The steak was cooked to perfection with mushrooms on top very flavorful Baked potato with all the fixings and I had a salad she had soup it was $38 each which I think is a very reasonable price for the size of the ribeye highly recommend read more

This establishment definitely appears to be the Cheers of Roseville. Patrons are definitely friendly. The service is fast and attentive which includes drink and food service. Karaoke is in high gear on Friday evenings. There's a seperate area for those who smoke. Have yet to be disappointed on the atmosphere. The Almond Tree Grill and Lounge has been an icon on the entertainment scene of Roseville, CA for many years, and is know as "The 'Cheers' Bar of Roseville," as the lounge features live music, dancing, karaoke four nights a week, and a variety of entertainment. It's a neighborhood "dive bar" and a favorite with Roseville locals. As an added bonus, the restaurant offers "bar food," but their fine cuisine is more on the likes of fine dining. What's more, the restaurant and bar opens at 8:00 in the morning, every day of the week, and now offers breakfast! The dining room is large, spacious and very comfortable. You can sit at the bar, or at the many tables, some of which are elevated, in true "barstool mountain" fashion. There's a cubicle for a DJ, along with a small stage, as live entertainment events also regularly occur. There are also numerous television monitors, normally tuned to sporting events, but as of this writing, "Coronavirus" is all in the news, and there aren't many sporting events taking place. The menu is two-sided, and offers lots of "bar food," along with selections of more upscale cuisine. I was all set to order carnitas "Street Tacos" from the other side of the menu, until my friendly server told me the restaurant serves breakfast, from a "hidden menu." In other words, breakfast is not on the menu. Breakfast choices are limited to a couple varieties of sandwiches, omelettes and a plate of bacon and eggs. Home style potatoes and sourdough toast are the only sides offered on the "hidden" breakfast menu. I debated... but I went with "Bacon and Eggs," along with a couple of draught beers for enjoyment. I went with the "Bacon Egg and Potato" breakfast. My breakfast was delicious, but basic, as it included two eggs, fried to my liking - over easy - country potatoes, two strips of thick bacon, along with a piece of buttered sourdough bread. Breakfast choices are very limited - and not on the menu - and if you order anything besides a sandwich, you'll be limited to basically what's on my plate. That's not a bad thing, as this is the kind of breakfast that I long for... especially when it's enjoyed at a neighborhood dive bar. Service was rapid, as my breakfast arrived about ten minutes after I placed my order, and I'd only taken a few sips of my first beer. The breakfast starts with two pieces of thick bacon, cooked to perfection. I didn't tell Julia my preference with bacon - I prefer my bacon soft, and almost "rubbery" - and my bacon arrived just the way I like it. If you like your bacon crispy, let your server know... It's been a long time since I've enjoyed such fine bacon at a restaurant. I ordered my eggs fried over easy - my de facto standard - and my eggs arrived just the way I ordered them, except one of them had a little yolk peaking out. No worries on my part, as like my bacon, I prefer my eggs on the "runny" side. The home fried potatoes - hash brown potatoes aren't available - were cut to just the right size, and deep fried to an almost crunchy golden brown on the outside, and chewy on the inside, which are the mark of great breakfast potatoes. The potatoes were neither salty or greasy, and cooked to perfection. The sourdough toast - the only toast available - was toasted, buttered, and great. My compliments to the chef, as he has talent, as this was a delicious breakfast. At $12.00 plus tax, it was a little on the pricey side, but considering the "divey" atmosphere, the quality of the food and the friendly service, it made a fair price to pay for a delicious breakfast. Does it get any better than to enjoy a perfect breakfast of bacon, eggs, potatoes, toast... and a draught beer? Almond Tree Grill and Lounge opens every morning at 8:00, and breakfast is served until noon. Great food, cold, draught beer, live music, great entertainment, along with super friendly staff make Almond Tree Grill and Lounge a great choice for fine dining, and great entertainment. Almond Tree Grill and Lounge isn't upscale dining, as it's a dive bar, but the food is delicious, you can enjoy a beer anytime the restaurant is open, and the staff is super friendly. I might be sticking my neck out a little on this one, but I'm going with 5 stars, as I LOVE this bar and restaurant! read more

Since 1976, Almond Tree Lounge is anything but a casual lounge. More of a dive with food that extends beyond the typical deep fried and loaded with entertainment. There are definite regulars but not awkward at all. A packed house on Friday evening/night. A crowd of patrons that know how to have a simple exceptional good time without the drama and without throwing up. A server and bartender in great spirits and humor. Generous drinks and PBR on tap. Friday is also Prime Rib night. Peeps come in for dinner and some stay for the fun and others leave and space replaced with entertainment seekers. Not a grouchy face in the crowd. Live music on Friday ... it was Jerry (the one man band) on this particular night playing various genre from 70's through the 90's and takes requests. A guest singer for the gal tunes. Apparently, karaoke is a big deal here and deserves a trip back to experience the often the talked about great singers. I've been to more than my share of dives in the Sactown region, but nothing compares to the Almond Tree Lounge. I'ver rarely seen such a lively atmosphere on a Friday night. I credit that to the demographic, which is almost exclusively the +40 ( ore like the +50) crowd. Does that make it a no-go for snobby youngsters? Quite the opposite. Our group settled in at a back table and soaked it all in. There was a lively dance floor, a lounge-singer type belting out three decades of oldies and every table was packed with laughing, happy folks. Al of the above seems to be passe among the under 30 crowd these days unless they are sloppy drunk and in an overpriced club. No, these people knew how to party. Our server was a spunky young gal who greeted us with a smile and never left us with an empty glass in our hand. Despite the crowds, she came back often and kept us satisfied. The only downside was that the kitchen closed around midnight, right when the munchies set in. Did I mention the smoking lounge? Just when I thought I'd never set foot in another bar that allowed smoking, here is one that has a whole indoor glassed-off section for it, like a giant iron lung. read more

I came to the Almond Tree Lounge with a few other Yelpers on a Friday night to hangout and have some drinks and good food. The first thing I noticed (or didn't notice) when I walked in is that the inside is DARK. It takes awhile for your eyes to adjust but the lighting is OK inside once they do. They have a large bar and plenty of tables to sit at around the restaurant. There is also a dance floor and a small stage which holds a singer/musician or from what I understand, karaoke sometimes. There is a large indoor smoking area that connects to the main room through one or two glass doors and separated by a glass wall. This was my only complaint because I don't smoke, yet I came home smelling of smoke. Gross! Smokers seemed to enjoy it though. My friends and I all had a few glasses of Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) which at $3.00 a pint is reasonably priced. There were a few Vegetarian appetizers on the menu, but nothing serious. I ended up having the Chips and Salsa and French Fries with Ranch. What was surprising to me about the food is that it's all made there. No bagged/frozen food here! The chips for the chips and salsa were really tasty and were my favorite out of the two. The fries were good as well and were cooked perfectly so that they were nice and crisp. I was shocked at how packed the place got on a Friday night, but it was a great crowd and service never suffered. The crowd is a little on the older side which is nice and everyone behaved. Some of the best fun can be had in a dive bar! We came here after spending some time at a neighboring chain for some drinks and appetizers. We were told about this place by one of the workers at the chain and decided to give it a try. Yeah, it's a dive. Yeah, it caters to more of an older crowd of people. No young, loud obnoxious first time drinkers in here. When we walked in, there was karaoke going on and although most of the people seemed to be "regulars," everyone here made us feel welcome! The four of us ordered four drinks and the drinks were super cheap and pretty potent. We listened to people singing song after song and some were good and some not. Even the not so good singers received applause. That's how laid back and fun the atmosphere is here! Along with the singing, people were dancing on the dance floor to whatever tune was playing. We had one singer coming over serenading to us and wanted us to join him in some dance and song. Random fun! Overall, it was a surprisingly fun place to just chill and hangout. They also serve the typical bar food along with drinks. We agreed next time, Almond Tree will be top of our list if we want to just drink and have appetizers at a fraction of the chain price! read more

I went here one time with my hairdresser for my birthday and it was super awesome just THAT ONE TIME. An older man came up to us and gave us a free token to use for drinks. It was great. When I went there a second time with friends, I had a horrible experience. The service was not friendly. I went with a bunch of friends one night and we just wanted to go to a nice, small place to hangout. There were a bunch of regulars who just stared at us like we were criminals. We were trying to decide on what to order and the cocktail waitress seemed very impatient and annoyed with us. I didn't want to order any drinks because I was driving. The cocktail waitress told me there was a one drink minimum per person so I told her I'll just have a water and she said it's $2.50 for a water.
