    We are so happy!

This is a beautiful and caring rescue! Everyone puts their heart and soul into carefully finding the right forever home for these cats. So sad to read such negative reviews. As our experience was loving and meaningful! We were so grateful to find that special cat to join our family! The management and volunteers have provided resources and direction to help us make this a successful bond. We look forward to Bingo nights, dropping off donations and sending monetary donations for years to come! We encourage others whom have had positive experiences to write reviews. We truly appreciate this rescue and will recommend them with glowing reviews!!

Almost Home Cat Adoption has truly changed our lives by bringing Leodren (initially Drew), Shimmer (initially Dragonwell), and Ember (initially Taylor) into our family. The care, dedication, and love they put into rescuing and placing their cats is evident in every step of the process, and we are endlessly grateful for the work they do. Yes, they do have a tighter adoption policy, which I genuinely appreciate. There is an application process, but it's clear the organization prioritizes protecting the health and well-being of their cats and ensuring they are placed in stable, permanent homes rather than being returned for adoption later. Cats -- and any pet -- are a real commitment, and even in just their first year they have taught me so much about patience, responsibility, and unconditional love. These three have brought incredible joy, comfort, and personality into our home, and we love them more than words can express. Thank you to everyone at Almost Home for helping us find our little family.

I volunteer here and I also recently adopted a new kitten from them. I really can't say enough about how wonderful this place and these people are! They work tirelessly for the cats and kittens in their care and always put them first. Nearly everyone here is a volunteer, so they are doing all of this out of pure love. Do things sometimes take a little longer because they're working with cats that need extra medical care? Yes. But this just shows again that the cats are their priority. I'm very proud that my new family member Nugget came from such a loving rescue. He is a wonderful boy, and came to me neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. I couldn't ask for more!

2 adoptions from AHA 3 years apart

I just adopted my second kitty from here. I'd adopted the first 3 years ago. I love that they do not cage the cats here. The adoption process is pretty in depth, which I appreciate. They really care about making sure that their cats and kittens are going to good homes. The kitten we adopted was litter trained, up to date with vaccines, neutered, and very well socialized. He has been such an amazing addition to our family. And our 3 year old cat that we adopted here 3 years ago has found his best friend and he is so happy! Both of them, their health and loving personalities, are testaments to the love and care they received from AHA.

He also loves to chit chat!

Worked with Tanesa, very unfriendly and discouraged me from adopting. I guess I'll go somewhere else.

The director said the cat she was interested in wasn't up for adoption yet and she would have to wait. After many days of my mom calling and talking to the lady she basically said that the cat was already hers she just had to wait for him to be available. Today my mom called the shelter again and the director said THAT THEY GAVE THE CAT AWAY!!!! my mom was so devastated. We just lost our family dog and she was so excited and looking forward to getting a new cat. The director said it was because they had heard my mom say she was going to make it an outdoor cat, WHICH IS COMPLETELY FALSE. first, my mom would never do that. She specifically wants a cuddly indoor kitty as a companion, second the shelter specifically said she cant have an outdoor cat and my mom agreed with that part of the contract. It makes absolutely no sense. I could tell from the very beginning something was off about this rescue and I was right. I'm not sure what they're doing over there but whatever it is it's not good. We will probably be getting in contact with a lawyer. DO NOT ADOPT FROM HERE!!!

This was about 2 days before Christmas. I was contacted by one of their adoption coordinators not long after and by New Year's Day I was having a meet-and-greet with my potential kitty. Meet and greet went awesome and I signed the adoption papers that day. In less than a week I'd found my new buddy! The adoption cost ($75) covered neuter, vaccines, microchip and more. I felt great knowing I was rescuing a safe and healthy animal. His foster mom was fantastic as were all the Pawsco people I interacted with. Everyone was very helpful and responsive - it was an easy process and I would recommend them to anyone looking to adopt a pet.

I looked for weeks on all of the shelters websites and almost every dog I was interested in was here at Boulder Valley. All the staff members are helpful and sweet; they answered all my questions and even answered the phone a few minutes after closing to help me. Then I found Zeus. Looking through their website, I stumbled upon him and knew I had to meet him. So I played hooky from work, loaded up my husband, roommate, and her dog and headed out. They were more than happy to have my husband and I meet Zeus one on one and then move him to the big pin out front to meet my roommates dog. From there, my husband and I decided to sit on it over night. The next day, I called and placed a hold on Zeus and then drove that following afternoon to go and get him. The paperwork took about 15 minutes to complete and the staff were so excited to bring him out to me to go home. I went from heartbroken and feeling like we'd never find a dog to walking out of Boulder Valley overjoyed. Thank you guys again for everything. The mission of Angels with Paws is great, but their "leadership" needs re-evaluation. Specially, Elizabeth Talamantez, as she is cruel and abuses the shelter's mission by trying to play God. I went to the shelter and immediately fell in love with one of their cats. The cat also took well to me. After reading the listing and visiting with the volunteer who observed how the cat and I interacted, there was no reason to believe this cat would not do well in my home with another cat. The listing never mentioned a home with existing cats being an issue, the social media post even encouraged a proper introduction with other pets in their new home, and when talking with the volunteer there was no mention of other cats being problematic. I submit my application and when I followed up, I was shocked to hear the "rationale" or lack of logic rather as to why I was being denied thr opportunity to save this cat. Elizabeth informed me that she felt it was best this friendly and affectionate cat "would do best being placed in a home with an aggressive cat or a dog" . What sick monster would subject a poor animal to an environment where they are being bullied by an aggressive cat or potentially terrified of a dog and not to mention this cat had no known history of being around dogs? Elizabeth Talamantez is not an animal advocate. She's a mentally disturbed individual who enjoys playing God by subjecting innocent animals to poorly placed homes. My family and I have consistently donated company matched donations and cat food throughout the years because we believe in the shelters mission, but we had no idea how disturbed the "leadership" is. For anyone reading this, I highly encourage you to consider donating elsewhere because your donations likely aren't being managed in a way that aligns with what the shelter claims. It's unfortunate how people will take advantage of innocent beings to fulfill their sick and twisted fantasies, while claiming to be a cat advocate.

When we adopted her July of 2011, thanks to David S.'s recommendation, she was just over a pound and tiny. The vet said he doubted she was a full eight weeks and she was a tad underweight but she had been spayed and her little baby belly had a little tiny stitch in it which healed nicely. She had a little bit of a goopy eye that she got drops for and it cleared up. Our vet gave her the initial exam for free because she was a rescue and gave her a clean bill of health. We began the fatten-up-baby-Leeloo project and now she is still small, but her proper, almost adult weight. Let's just say, she is the prefect match for our family and my heart is warmed every single time I see her especially when she crawls on my chest to wake me in the morning to point out the fact she is a Supreme Being - the Fifth Element and needs chicken.
