My last shopping experience here was just for funsies and didn't have anything particularly in mind. The sizing is way off and had to try several items to just find my right size, as it's not consistent with the labeling across different designs. And then comes this sweet girl to help me out. She would grab sizes for me I wasn't asking for BUT she knew what size I needed and this is great as it shows product knowledge. However the bummer part was that a lot of the colors I wanted they didnt have in store in the size I was looking for and unfortunately it seems to be the case online as well. Nonetheless it was a good shopping experience, and felt that customer service was great. Even my mom picked something out. Alo doesn't offer military discount and probably should. They do have a point system for your purchases which you can redeem for freebies similar to what Sephora offers. For the stuff they didn't have at the store I went online searching for it and found a lot more items that the store doesn't carry, so I loaded up my cart with more stuff. Being in San Diego it doesn't get THAT cold and the store carried a lot of super winter style coats which I think perhaps the store should carry some more light weight jackets that are on their website. The quality is good and pricing goes along with it. I only gave it 4 stars because of sizing limitations, they were either too small or too large for the most part so it made it hard to shop for more read more

I love coming to this outdoor mall and this is a great Alo Store. I remember when they first opened in 2021 and this might have been the first Alo in Southern California They have very high-quality workout clothing and leisure wear which is super comfortable and looks great! My experience is whatever I have purchased is easy to wash on delicate and lasts forever! I highly recommend!! read more

From all the sports outfits brands this is my favorite for the quality of their clothes. I also love my ALO bag that I carry to the gyms I frequent. The store is so well organized by colors and I love how attentive everyone is. Also I love special events like the one today. It was a privilege to attend the events at the store with live DJ, acroyoga, lettering artist customizing the sneakers, etc, plus the yoga session outside. Just fantastic and with the amazing freebies also a very nice touch to attract a loyal clientele. Keep up with the amazing energy and quality meets design. read more

I'm not sure whats happened to this location. The UTC store has been my go to store for 2 years now. Everyone was always helpful and courteous. It seems they've changed management. No one is helpful, and the overall experience is just unpleasant. I asked an older woman for an item and it clearly annoyed her to help me and get it in the back. I could see it on her face. I usually keep to myself but when i've gone the manager Carly I think is her name was so wonderful. I've gone three times in the last 2 months for the sale and to do returns and there are many new workers that it seems they aren't enjoying themselves. I haven't seen her there. I live closer to Fashion Valley but go out of my way to go to this store due to their helpfulness but i'll be going back to the closer store. read more

I looked online and it says there is a gift card balance, but it has no information about the gift card so I can't use it. I tried the chat... Goes directly to email, even though it is on the state of chat hours. I emailed with no response. And I tried dialing the number and they auto hung up on me... Twice. LOVE this location!! The ladies are always super nice!! Went in this afternoon to try on their new Fall collection. I tried on the white (ivory) Sherpa but they only have a S and a L hanging. I checked online and it showed that they don't have a medium at this location and only Fashion and the Forum has the M, but I asked the girl who worked their anyway. She went and found the medium. I was super excited since I don't have to drive to Fashion or the forum. The girl in the drawing from was super nice as well!! And yes, I purchased the Sherpa!! Alo Yoga in La Jolla has taken a majority of my $ since I've been home for the holidays. It might be because I'm hoarding since we don't have a store yet in Northern California. UTC is my favorite mall to shop at whenever I'm home in SD. I've been here a handful of times in the past week and I've had AMAZING customer service each time. The ladies here are great and are always happy to assist with sizing or just letting me know what looks good. Also, all the ladies are super sweet to my pup Nani. The store is clean and color organized which is super helpful. The quality of the clothes are amazing which is probably what keeps me coming back regardless of the high price tag. I told myself I can't get anymore Alo unless I'm home in SD so I can't wait to come back for more! read more

Awful. Consistently low rated service. It's 10:05am. UTC opens at 10:00am. Doors unlocked. I walked in and a young women yells "EXCUSE ME! WE ARE NOT OPEN IT. GIVE US FIVE MINUTES". What? The doors are unlocked. I counted four people standing BEHIND the register. I'm waiting in the rain. I planned on exchanging $500 worth of purchases but I'm just returning for a full refund. I'm officially done with this store. Disappointing because my fitness room is filled with the boxing gloves, yoga blocks, towels, shoes....and my workout clothing, I have spent over $3K in 2021 alone. Now, four minutes into writing this review. It's 10:12am. They haven't approached the front doors to allow me and others to entire. Done. read more

Had a pretty unsettling experience at the Alo at the forums in Carlsbad as a first time Alo purchaser. Called the UTC location and talked to a manager named Carey. She was SUPER kind and was more than happy to help sort this issue out and allow me to swap a bra for a different size (that still had tags and was never worn). When I got there I was helped by an Angelica. She changed my experience all around and her and the manager on duty are why I will continue to purchase from Alo (just not the Carlsbad location). They reassured me that there was no *no size exchange policy* and that they'd make sure to handle it on their side. Happy I didn't rule out Alo because my experience today was a million times different. Thanks to the Alo team at UTC!!! If you have never tried on any Alo, I highly recommend going to their storefront BEFORE ordering the wrong size online. I actually bought my first pair of Alo leggings from a barre studio last year and loved the brand right away. I was compelled to check out this place to go shopping for myself! No regrets, I really liked how soft their loungewear long sleeves were and had to get one. Customer service was great from my experience. Not too pushy, made sure you found everything ok, and checkout process was fast. Would go again! I'd say these are more quality than Lulus. As far as my knowledge, they most likely don't offer any fitness/wellness industry discounts or military, but honestly, it is worth paying full price anyways after you give some pieces a spin. read more

Drove down to pick up new leggings. They had emailed about their newest shine leggings and I thought it was best to try on instead of ordering online and risking needing to return. Store was very clean and they were keeping an eye on how many were in store at a time which was reassuring. Further they had molekule air purifiers throughout the store and even the minis in every dressing room. Helpful staff who found the leggings I described and my size. I have literally been waiting a century for this ALO store to open. No, I'm kidding LOL but I kept walking by, wishing & hoping, & dreaming.... Picked up my puppy Snickers after a weeklong vacay w/ the fam & decided to have a mom/daughter date. We wandered into our favorite part of UTC mall only to see that Christmas came early in late July! Apparently they just opened in the last week or so. Right now the Covid-19 hours are 11am-7pm Mon thru Friday. On Sundays, they close at 6pm. Forgot what Saturday hours are, but they correspond with the mall for the most part. During the quarantine, I had been living off their Aura shorts (I own 4 of these & great for heat wave weather), as well as their Airlift leggings & matching sets (Black, Sulphur, Strawberry) + Airbrush leggings in the Macaron Pink. I had my eye on their High-Waist Vapor Snakeskin Legging, but I wasn't too sure of my size. I had to return a pair of their Cargo pants during the quarantine as eye-balling Sizes on-line are not the same as being able to try them on in the store. Today Fati helped me with my sizes for things I picked out; I also got the Appeal Short Sleeve Top in the color Bone, that goes with my leggings. I literally live in ALO while working remotely & for early morning walks with my pup. When the world heals from COVID 19, ALO will start hosting classes again in their space for the community. Can't wait! (For yoga and healing of the world). We all need some happiness in this stressful time, and retail therapy of the ALO nature is just what I needed today. Terrible customer service. Not recommended. I ordered a product from this store, but due to the store's shortage, they arranged to have it shipped to my home. However, the shipping company lost the item, and they told me to figure it out with UPS on my own. Their attitude was very poor. Don't waste your time and money here. read more

I love Alo but their customer service could be better! Everyone is very nice but I went in for a pair of pants and asked for my size and they told be they didn't have them. I still bought other items and was very happy to find out I received a discount for my first in store purchase. As I was leaving I spotted a sweater and when I went to see it I also see the pants I went in to get in multiple sizes. I ended up buying those and more items and I asked the girl, since she mistakenly told me the pants I wanted where not available could she extend my first purchase discount, she said no, no intent to correct her own mistake. Fine I still bought an additional 3 items but had to wait for ever while the cashier had an extensive chat with another customer, even after seeing her register was backing up! I purchased a pair of leggings (NWT) and tried to return and/or exchange them. Granted it was past the 30 day return window, but I was open to an exchange for anything else. The manager refused either option even though they still have the same exact leggings on their sales floor as it is one of their basic leggings. I recommend purchasing from a store with with a better return policy and better customer service. Absolutely no working with the customer in my situation. read more

I am extremely disappointed. I have been working management in this mall for two years. I was really looking forward to Alo opening, I finally had a break between my work schedule to try things on and really get an idea of my fit. I was being assisted by an employee today only to have the assistant store manager ask her to walk away from assisting me to help other customers. At first (with working in retail management myself) I thought maybe it was a short staff with everything going on and support was needed but after the employee walked away from helping me the manager who had asked the employee to help someone else did not continue to talk or assist me at all. When the employee tried to assist me three more times, the manager immediately pulled her away each time. I don't understand what didn't make me a valid customer? With the experience I had at this location I wouldn't want to recommend any of my clients to shop at this particular Alo. I sincerely hope that other locations do not bring such experiences to their clients. read more

I'm a big fan of the comfort and quality of Alo's clothes and this store definitely reflects that with its friendly and accommodating staff. Another thing of note is that there is a large selection of men's clothing - which is usually under represented at some of the other locations I've been to. The staff was very helpful in finding things in my sizes without being overly intrusive. It seems that they are taking a lot of Covid safety measures. Everything is kept clean and tidy. I noticed that there are a lot of air purifiers all over the store. It helps provide peace of mind when visiting the store if that's a concern. Overall, great experience. read more

I received a gift from ALO and it was poorly constructed. One of the seams wasn't sewn properly and it came apart. When I went into the store to exchange it, I was told that it was store policy that I needed the date, name and credit card from the person who purchased it. When I told them it was a gift and gave the name of person who gave it to me, they said that there wasn't a record. This was because he paid cash. I pointed out the defect again and was told that there was nothing that could be done. It was then that Yevette stepped in and provided excellent customer service. I really like Alo products and their designs. This review is for the store and their men's line. The store is clean, neat and well stocked. The staff is very helpful and polite minus the lotion/fragrance upsell at the checkout register. I politely declined. I'm very disappointed to see that Alo has farmed out most of their production overseas. What a shame. I bought a pair of amazing comfy sweatpants 6-8 months ago that were Made in LA. Fast forward to April 2021. The same sweatpants are now produced overseas. I think the quality is still ok but only time will tell. This store needs a coffee bar like some others have. read more

This store shows why you should never shop in store. I bought leggings online I didn't like them went to exchange, the girl who helped was clearly new didn't know what she was doing or how to process a return. I explained clearly that I wanted to exchange what I had for another set, she messed up the return and I ended paying again for what I wanted. I wasn't happy and told her she should ask for help, She gets her manager the manager snatched the leggings out of my hand and said I don't have to deal with this call customer service! I work as a manager and I had to school her on how to treat customers. What happened to wanting to keep customers clearly this store doesn't know how to hire. This store is a such a delight to shop at. Employees are very friendly and seem to know the product really well. Also, I love how clean the store is and how there is a rabbit air purifier (or is it Molekule?) in every fitting room. It is very well-stock. I didn't have trouble getting the sizes I need which can sometimes be the case at lululemon. If you are a fan of Alo I highly recommend shopping at this physical store. read more

Went in there with my family, right off the bat a woman wearing tan sports bra and Capri leggings followed me throughout the whole store. Idk why she already gave me wrong vibes. when there's only 3 guests in the store what's there to worry. I have 2 little kids, and they behave unlike her attitude. I asked her politely if they offered military discount since lululemon did and she bluntly said NO. Literally she needs to relax she doesnt own the store. The Alo Yoga brand has a beautiful boutique in the Westfield UTC Mall with very nice exercise clothes for men and women, but it lacks customer service. When you have an expensive product with a quality name behind it, its very important to have a good customer experience that reflects the brand. The employees are not very friendly , not very well prepared and arguing with customers is not a very good approach especially during COVID19. I highly recommend taking your shopping else where. This was my first time shopping in the store. I was a little overwhelmed but Jen (I think that was her name) made me feel really comfortable! She was so great with sizes and stayed with me while I tried everything on. She was honest about what looked good and introduced me to the 7/8 legging which is great for me because I'm hella short.
