Pros: it's organized Cons: the workers in the try on section are very rude. I came in with only 5 items and the lady didn't bother to give me one of those numbered cards, resulting in another worker not giving me a room. Instead, they had the people behind me go first even though they either had the same amount of clothing pieces or more. The girl who was supposed to give me a number kept ignoring me to the point another worker had to step in, interrupt her, and help me out. I'm a big uniqlo lover and have plenty of pieces, but this experience just made things very uncomfortable and was quite disrespectful, to the point I will not be visiting this location ever again read more

This Uniqlo location is pretty run of the mill. It is located inside the UTC mall right in the central plaza. The store was nice and air conditioned and felt relatively clean. The service was just okay, nothing that really stood out. read more

Uniqlo is not quite my style but my son-in-law loves the soft and baggy t-shirts and long-sleeved ones. He got me to start buying the t-shirts on our last visit to the Uniqlo in London. Therefore, when I saw that Uniqlo has a location at UTC, I had to check it out. This location is HUGE and quite busy with Christmas shoppers. Most of their clothing is reasonably priced. Rarely that you see anything over $100. It reminds me of the GAP or a higher-end Old Navy. You kind of feel claustrophobic because they arranged and packed everything so tightly. It's convenient to have a local branch of this Japanese casual wear store at the Westfield UTC Mall now. I liken it to an Asian version of The Gap. The initial crowds have died down and during my recent visit, the checkout line was minimal. Since winter is in effect, the apparel on display matched the season although I think it's overkill given the temperature rarely drops below 40 within a five mile radius of this location. All the heavy coats and thermal wear don't match the weather we have in SoCal. I had hoped there would be sections with light athletic gear available, but after walking around I didn't see much in stock. There should be a better balance given we still have daytime temperatures that reach the 70s. I did notice quite a few workers organizing the inventory and keeping the areas neat and tidy which was appreciated. They seemed more interested in staying out of my way than assisting as none of them asked if I needed help. The self checkout kiosks were interesting because you simply needed to place your items in a bin next to the register. The scanner could then identify what you were purchasing. I wonder if the technology was advanced enough that it could recognize the merchandise without any tags on them. Just based on weight, dimensions, and material (no bar codes), that would be impressive. Maybe that will be something I will test out at my next visit and see how smart AI has become. read more

I love me some Uniqlo, so I was so stoked to see we were getting one in SD! UTC is typically a bit too crowded for my liking, and it was incredibly crowded during the holidays. Luckily, you can still get two hours free parking, so that's a plus. The layout of this store is a bit challenging to navigate, as the tall aisles and clothing displays prevent you from seeing more than a small part of the store at a time. It's not a deal breaker by any means, but just something to mention. Today, as crazy busy as it was, I got incredible customer service from a number of employees -Julien D., David C., and JayDenn. I was processing several items including a return, a price adjustment, and a pick-up for an online order. As these transactions took a bit of time, and Supervisor approval, the team members thanked me for my patience on several occasions, which was very kind. In addition, all of the aforementioned team members had big smiles on their faces and were in a jovial mood. Excellent, excellent customer service and kudos to the team. I usually love shopping at this Uniqlo. The service is consistently great, and I even spent over $300 here yesterday because of the excellent help I received from Rose and Mark. Today, Nihi and Mark once again went above and beyond to assist me while I was shopping, and they truly represent the best of this store. Unfortunately, my positive experience took a turn because of Emily. While I was sitting quietly by the back office door (the store wasn't busy at all), she came out, stopped, and stared at me with what felt like unnecessary attitude. Instead of a polite approach, she simply said, "Can you move," in a dismissive tone and walked away. I was caught off guard -- not by the request, but by how it was delivered. A simple, respectful interaction could have gone a long way. I shared my concern with the manager Jacob, but he didn't seem very engaged. When I asked for the GM's email, another manager, Jorge, came out instead, which only made me feel that my concern wasn't being taken seriously. The only reason this is a 3-star review instead of lower is because of employees like Rose, Mark, and Nihi, who consistently provide excellent service. They are the reason I continue to shop at Uniqlo, both here and previously at the San Francisco location. Emily, a gentle reminder: you never know what someone may be going through. A simple "hi" or a kind tone could have turned this into a positive moment instead of one that made me question the customer service standards Uniqlo is known for. Staff has always been so helpful everytime we're there! Love the self check-out! Merchandise always looks organized. Only issue is that it is always so hot in there. I always want to rush out and tell my son to hurry up plus it's always so crowded in there...all the body heat lol and all the lights they have on in there. If you are a Uniqlo fan this is a excellent location. For those that don't know Uniqlo is basically this generation's Gap. This location is literally huge and occupies the space where forever 21 used to be. It's just one story so it's nice not to have to go in between a bunch of floors. I've been to a lot of uniqlo's in China and this is larger than many of them. They have the typical free pants hemming too as long as the pants cost a certain amount. The crowds have died down a lot since the grand opening so things are basically normal. A great addition to the UTC Mall. read more

I am not a fan of beige and brown colors and in general, not a fan of muted, boring colors in clothing. Plenty of these at Uniqlo, maybe some socks had bright colors. However, something prompted me to enter to buy soft shirts. Probably the fact that it's a new store and everything seem to be very clean and put together. I was expecting Japanese quality as my understanding is that this is a Japanese brand. However, I was really disappointed with the quality of the t-shirts that I was looking for. I didn't see anything soft. I could not touch softness fabrics at all. Everything was harsh and pretty synthetic. There is no cotton anymore. There is no natural fabrics anymore. I just found that if I put some t-shirts from there I will get itchy, so I ended up empty-handed. Also, the styles in general in the female section reminds me of school teachers from the '70s, so no thanks. read more

Rejoice! Yes indeed, the wait for Uniqlo in SD is over. I lowkey miss have having an excuse to pop up to Orange County or LA to visit the locations there, alas, there is now a massive store in UTC mall. Men's clothing is on the left hand side and ladies on the right. The displays were immaculate. Huge selection and great quality + pricing as always. Finally a UNIQLO in San Diego! This has been a highly anticipated store taking the place of Forever 21 at UTC. I came on Saturday of opening weekend and it's busy as expected but the line moved pretty fast. Even for opening weekend, the store was very clean and pretty well-organized. I purchased some short sleeve mini tees in different colors and an over shirt for my partner. All of the clothes feel well made! I downloaded the app and got $10 off $75, which was an opening weekend deal. I will definitely return to get high quality basics! read more

Usually, I drive all the way up to South Coast Plaza for Uniqlo, but I'm glad that they FINALLY have store here in San Diego. This Uniqlo is HUGE and offers a large selection of clothing from their collections. I believe Uniqlo has the best value for their clothing because their items are always so thick. I can't really speak on service because I typically use the self check out counter, but I haven't had any complaints about them so far. Love this place! read more

The customizations were free with purchase but it does have to be a specific bag or shirt style, it can either be embroidered or printed on--the bags were 22$ i believe? Second day of grand opening and it was PACKED, overall very big uniqlo especially for it not being 2 stories! Purchase some Christmas gift for my boys unfortunately 1 item that I gifted my son looks like it's his military uniform so I was returning it. He didn't want anything else. Since his is vacationing only I was just gonna give him something else if I got refunded but I was offered a giftcard instead coz I don't have a receipt and I can't remember the self service register I used. I don't have an app I was trying to download and all but it's like at this point I'm so disappointed at this store. I live in Japan for 14 years I love Uniqlo, shop there a lot when my kids are still small. Anyways, the way this store made me feel like I stole this item and it's my fault that I don't remember which register I used the lady who helped me can't find the transaction gives me a feeling that I don't know how to explain. I even showed her my bank statement showed it deducted to my account on that day didn't helped at all. I know it's not her fault but the store needs to find other ways to cater to people like me who only shops once in a while and be able to do transactions smoothly. The store is kept neat and clean. The associates are very friendly. Fitting room lines are ridiculously long. All. The. Time. The product does lack quality for the prices (you can get better quality, same price, and better return policy elsewhere) and their return policy is the worst! They do not connect purchases to your credit card like other merchants. Therefore, if you try to return something without a receipt, using the same credit card you purchased with, forget about it. You are stuck with whatever you purchased! There are no exceptions. I made a purchase ($170), with my credit card, two weeks ago. I misplaced the receipt. All the tags were still on the unworn merchandise and it was under 30 days. I was advised they cannot do a return even made with a credit card. Not even a store credit or exchange. I have never heard of such a thing when it's a credit card purchase!! I won't shop here anymore! I would reconsider purchasing from here if you want ease of trying on merchandise, quality, and/or the ability to return unwanted purchases. read more
