I have always loved the Aloft concept and their modern aesthetic, so when I scored a great rate at the Broomfield location for a quick one-night stay, I jumped on it. Overall, it was a solid experience, though there are definitely signs that the property is starting to see its age. The highlights were definitely the amenities and the service. The staff were all very nice and helpful from check-in to check-out. I also made sure to check out the pool and fitness room, both of which were impressively clean and well-maintained. Since I have elite status with Marriott, I was able to get a comped breakfast that would have otherwise cost $16.50. I'm glad I did, the omelette was actually quite good and came with a side of potatoes and bacon. However, there were a few issues with the room itself that kept this from being a 5-star stay. The HVAC unit was extremely loud; it had a very noisy cycle that made it a bit difficult to sleep through the night. Additionally, the soundproofing between floors isn't the best. We were on the 2nd level and could clearly hear the people above us loudly walking around at 6:00 AM, which was pretty disruptive for a morning where we wanted to sleep in. It's still a great spot if you can get a good deal, but if you're a light sleeper, you might want to request a top-floor room. read more

Dog owners, please be aware. While walking our three dogs on standard 5-foot leashes, I politely asked this couple to go around us because we were training. They acknowledged me but continued walking toward us with their dog on a retractable leash. Their dog repeatedly pulled toward ours, and our Lab puppy slipped out of its collar and briefly sniffed their dog. There was no barking, growling, or biting. During the interaction, the man said, "I'm going to shoot your dog." When I asked why, he replied, "If your dog ever gets near my wife or my kid, I will shoot your dog." I understand that a loose dog can make someone uncomfortable, but I found it alarming that the immediate response was a threat to shoot my dog. I've stayed at Marriott hotels before, but this was by far my worst experience. The central AC wasn't working properly; while the unit in the room ran, it only managed to cool half the bedroom, leaving the other half and the bathroom uncomfortably warm throughout my stay. The breakfast buffet was disappointing: the cheapest I've ever seen, with egg substitute from a carton, low-quality pancakes and bacon, and no decaf coffee, milk, or yogurt offered at all. I stayed here for a few nights and it wasn't anything special but was fine for the price. The front desk was a bit disorganized but the room was clean and quiet enough. A choice of 500 points or $15 daily breakfast voucher was offered for Bonvoy Platinum status. I went with the breakfast -- breakfast was a la carte and you have to order at the front desk. Food was average and prices were pretty high but the vouchers did cover just about everything on there. currently this place seems to be in terrible shape and falling apart. needs maintenance every which way. the carpet, the window's privacy film, the room we stayed in had a disgusting, pungent odor.. reeking of what i can only imagine to be ages old animal pee. the shower was falling apart. none of it was good. the whole place needs a remodel. upon complaining online, received an "oh sorry" reply from the manager.. ok,.. but, that doesn't help with lost time, money, and that horrendous smell endured and now etched in my memories. not recommended. read more

Stayed here a few times seven years ago and the experience was good. Stayed again last weekend for a night. First the good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is safe. We didn't have an issue leaving our uhaul truck and car in tow in their lot. As a Marriott Bonvoy member (I believe) we received vouchers for breakfast. Location is great between Denver and Boulder. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. Although pretty well kept up, the hotel needs some work. We had maintenance called in because our ac didn't work. He was able to fix it in a minute. The carpets in the hallway on the third floor needs to be replaced. The breakfast was limited. As a vegetarian there wasn't a hot option. Ended up with a bagel, which was ok. read more

I always stay at Marriott hotels. I come to Denver from the mountains for work some and found this newer aloft hotel. I saw some reviews that were at first concerning but as we know if you build a new house or a new hotel, sometimes you have to work through construction punch list issues. I had a fantastic three nights stay the staff was amazing and really made great efforts to make sure my stay great. I will definitely be staying here again. The rooms were nice, clean and modern. I specifically stay at the Broomfield location, it's very hidden away from any sketchy neighborhoods... I can be at peace leaving my car in the lot. Stayed here for 5 nights for work and they were out of wifi the entire time. I checked in and was not told that their wifi was not working. It was not until the next day when I tried to work that I noticed there internet was not working. I went to the front desk and they were not helpful in this situation and were not able to give any update. This was an issue the whole time and the only thing they offered was a refund the day after I had already checked in. The room was okay except for the MOLD in the shower. The Aloft Broomfield Denver is okay. I choose this hotel because I did not want to be in downtown Denver and because I like the Aloft and Bliss brands. Aloft hotels are not fancy, but they are hip and have all of the basics. I arrived super late at night, and my check-in went smoothly. My room was in good condition, and I liked that the room came with a mini fridge. The hotel is small, but it has a handful of amenities: an indoor pool, a fitness center, a bar, a pool table, and a small convenience store with a communal microwave. Parking is plentiful and complimentary. Internet is complimentary too. The buzzkill was the fire alarm. I took a hot shower, and the steam set off the fire alarm in my room. I called the front desk, and they were unfazed, which led me to believe that it was a common occurrence. Lo and behold, the same thing happened to a neighboring room a few hours later. I poked my head out when I heard their fire alarm and saw the occupant of that room fanning out the steam from their shower. Another damper was being denied a late check-out despite my Titanium status. I understand that certain resorts and convention hotels are exempt from the guaranteed late check-out, but the Aloft Broomfield Denver is neither of those. There are plenty of hotels - Marriott and non-Marriott - in Broomfield and Denver. I still like the Aloft brand, but the overly sensitive fire alarm makes me not want to stay at this particular Aloft again unless I have no other options. I am a Marriott Platinum member and have stayed at several Alofts. I was honestly shocked by the cleanliness of this hotel because this is not what I am use too. I was even more shocked by how they charge for tooth paste and how many things were broken in the room. This hotel needs either a Management change or a huge reevaluation of their procedures. My stay was terrible except for the location. The reception was so bad I couldn't make phone calls. Even with the hotel WiFi, I couldn't text, Google, email, etc. For these prices, there is no reason for such bad connectivity. Even the surroundings and parking lot didn't help with cellular service. I had to drive a block away. No free breakfast and no dinner restaurant. A limited bar area closed on Fridays and Sundays. No microwaves or even frozen dinners. I'll never stay here again and I've traveled a lot for business. I used to like and count on Aloft hotels but this is a terrible stay. The only thing I enjoyed about this stay was the front staff. Most of them were friendly and helpful. All except the manager(?) on Tuesday checkout. No real pros to mention but the nice staff. LONG list of cons: 1. Air conditioner was loud and poorly placed. We had to keep adjusting the TV volume to considerable level changes every time the AC came on and off. Also, the placement of it ensured that the cold air was aiming straight at my feet making the sleep experience polarized for the people sharing the room. 1 bed gets really cold, the other bed has a moderately cool experience. And why the hell you would put an AC unit under a desk seems ludicrous. How can anyone work comfortably at a desk with cold air blowing in their crotch? 2. The sole plastic "desk" chair (with no armrests) in a room with 2 desks was more decorative than useful. It had no wheels or sliders so it had to be lifted off the floor every time I needed to adjust it. Horrible distraction for work. 3. We had a mini fridge but no microwave in the room. It was a PITA to have to go warm up our food in the lobby MW every time we wanted to have a heated meal. Most comparable hotel rooms have microwaves for a reason. 4. There was no ice machine on our floor. WTH were they thinking???? Having to go to the lobby to grab a ziploc full of ice was ridiculous, assuming the ice cooler was actually stocked. And 1 ziploc of ice didn't even fill the small ice bucket provided in the room. I can't think of a single hotel I've ever stayed at that did not have an accessible ice machine in close proximity. 5. Your website states "Daily Housekeeping" but we received notice when we checked in that there would not be any housekeeping services during our stay. 6. Website also stated there was a restaurant on-site and there wasn't. We found ourselves constantly having to leave the property to find meals. 7. No exhaust fan in bathroom. Are you serious??? Is that even legal? Bathroom tile & grout looked filthy and the paint above the shower was peeling. Both reasons for ventilation as well as exhaust for the toilet. Then there's the barn door for the toilet shower area. NO lock. Stupid design. I'm an architectural designer by trade and would be fired for designing a bathroom like that. 8. Small room with limited traffic layout. 9. Says no smoking but the entire 2nd floor reeked of weed on the regular. Not a bad thing for me, but might be for other guests. 10. No place to unpack in the room. Just a bench with a thin cushion. So the only place to sit was a bench seat and a hard plastic chair. 11. TV options were a joke. No streaming channels available for such a "modern" joint? 12. Auto-close on the room doors was too loud. Most other commercial doors are capable of a soft close. Why is it so difficult for a Hotel to have them? 13. Weakest pillows I've encountered in my entire life. Never had a peaceful rest at this hotel the entire stay. 14. Body wash bottle was never securely fastened to the shower wall and constantly ended up on the floor. Also, no place in the shower to put personal shower/shaving supplies. How can you play the "modern" theme expecting all your tenants to want to use your cheap soap/shampoo options? 15. Half-assed landscaping was 100% reflective of the property planning, development and management style of the hotel. 16. No hot water in the shower. My 8O yr old mother had to take a cold shower as it never warmed up. 17. We requested extra towels and foam pillows when we made the reservation but never received them. Pro tip for Marriot: If you're going to charge full price, provide a full service. Period. Update: I've been contacted by marriot management due to my negative review. They claimed no accountability, just offered some fluffed up BS response "we hope you come see us again". I had been a loyal Marriott Rewards member since 2009 but my recent stay at this property was so bad, I needed to contact customer service (for the 1st time, ever). My stay at the ALoft Broomfield (6/26-7/4) was atrocious on a number of fronts. Never have I been exposed to conditions nor treatment from staff as was endured at this property. Additionally, I have been actively given the run around for almost 60 days from Marriott Customer Care who refuses to simply refund the money for our stay. Our experience started on day one when we asked for a few more towels. This led to a full fledged debate at the front desk with the manager on duty (Alex) who did not want to accommodate the request. She said towels could only be given every two days because the hotel was at capacity. She then wrote some notation in our file in front of our face on the computer. She was rude, condescending and snarky. We also had no facecloths for the duration of our stay. The fact that the hotel was at capacity, understaffed and/or did not have enough towels is not our issue, it is Marriott's. When being charged full price, one expects basic service and amenities. However, we are reasonable and understand there are small inconveniences to be expected as a result of covid (and the circumstances surrounding). A day later coming in from activities and the room still being unclean, we were only at that time told there would only be turndown service in our room every FIVE days. Which is no small inconvenience. We were staying for almost 2 weeks and we were told a day after arriving that this would be the case. When I asked the manager on duty (Alex) she said that this was standard practice at hotels. Standard practice. Again, she was rude, condescending and snarky. As a avid traveller and Marriott member, the fact that we (and other guests) had to deal with lies and this sort of attitude from staff when asking for simple requests and amenities we paid for is unacceptable. Not only that, after the turndown service did take place 5 days later, housekeeping re-made the bed with the SAME SHEETS. Nor did they vacuum the room. That is disgusting and unacceptable. Not to mention the sheets were infested and my oldest daughter was bit multiple times on the legs by some insect inside the sheets. She was covered in bumps when she woke up on day 4. This is unsanitary, unhealthy and unacceptable. There was trash strewn all in the hallways as cleaning service did not empty the trash cans inside rooms. Residents had to resort to putting the cans in the hallway. Which is disgusting and unsightly. The Broomfield/Denver area was hosting the biggest youth softball tournament in the country with these rooms booked way in advance I would assume. Yet, there were only two washer dryers in the hotel and one set was broken. There was a line of guests sitting to use the machines in the hallway of our floor (where the machines were) until 2am every evening with parents trying to wash their kids uniforms. This is unacceptable and unhealthy. Not to mention the stress it placed on us trying to navigate all this and get our daughters uniforms and gear cleaned. At no time did any of the hotel staff do anything to even attempt to hear, understand, sympathize or rectify any of the requests or complaints. The property did not message any of this in advance OR at check in. Any talk of there being signage on the property is a bold faced lie and an insult to your guests, integrity and intelligence. Lastly, on the 2nd to last evening we witnessed this same manager Alex, being incredible rude, disrespectful and snarky to another hotel guest who again, was simply asking for towels. This gentleman was from Georgia and could not believe how he was being spoken to. I have attached images for verification. *You will see trash unemptied after days not only in our room but also in the hallway. Also you will see other guests putting their trash in the hallway in an (futile) attempt to get it emptied. *You will see washer/dryer out of order *You will see the same sheets used to remake the bed after turndown on day five. *You will see grass from the carpet AFTER turndown service from the floor not being vacuumed. *You will see insect bites all over my daughter from the unclean sheets after day four. The run around from Marriott customer care after presenting all of this to them shows they do not care about their guests, much less their rewards members. They are empowering this property to continue treating their paying guests this way. To anyone reading this, you can make your own determinations but I would suggest staying away from this property. read more

Beware of Aloft by Marriott 8300 Arista in Broomfield Colorado!! My husband and I were booked here for a week in July 2023. The second day, I asked for simple room requests. A heavy glass shower door was leaking water on the floor and a hinge was broken, the safe didnt work and asked for room to be cleaned. Only thing done was the safe. So on my 3rd call to the front desk, I was yelled at and told these things had been done?!? This is as I stood in the room looking at unmade room and broken shower door! There are young and unprofessional, lazy people at this location. Finally on day 3, these issues were resolved with another desk employee. That evening, I was getting ready to go down to the lobby to see my sister who is coming from out of town. Pounding on my hotel room door and screaming at 9pm started. When I looked through the peep hole, two people were there ordering my husband and I to pack our bags?!?!! We did not open the door as we unsure of what the hell was happening!! They would not leave and we ended up having to call the police!! The police informed us that we were accused of illegal drug activity by the staff ???!!!! Just to make all of you aware, this is the furthest thing from the truth. I will not going to detail on our background but just to tell you this was direct retaliation for the simple request that we made the previous day from the front desk. We were also informed that this particular location has a lot of drug activity.. unfortunately coming from out of state... how would I know??? We were forced to pack our bags and thrown out of the hotel, escorted to the street by police!!!! So a huge warning that if you make a simple request at this Aloft by Marriott in Broomfield, Colorado ... you could find yourself outside in the parking lot!!! And not to say that all Marriotts are this way as I have stayed in many that were fine . This particular location has very inexperienced, nasty and awful employees that will lie to avoid what they were hired for. The manager refuses to respond, of course we are not surprised!! The rooms and the hotel itself are clean and cozy. The service is another story. When we arrived for checkout no one was at the desk, or even in site. I didn't see any hotel employee for 15 minutes. Finally the bar tender popped in and went to the back room to get the woman who was supposed to be working the desk. The next night we arrived to the hotel around 11:30 and wanted a drink before heading to our room. The same night I went to get a snack from the lobby, and I went to the front desk to pay but once again no one was there. A few minutes later the front desk lady ran in from the front smelling like an ash tray. The bar looked closed, and I asked the man working the front desk what time it closed and he said "usually it's open until midnight but tonight it closed at 11." No explanation. I then watched this man be extremely rude to a woman that got locked out of her room. She seemed a little buzzed, but she was on vacation and it's late on a Saturday night and she wasn't being remotely unruly. He was very belittling and treating her like a child just because she was slurring a little. Everything from bedding, desks, soaps(amazing), fitness area, and more, they have done an amazing job with these properties. I just love getting extra bars of soap for travels. My mom is dying of lung cancer. I am frazzled. I was browsing GROUPON looking for a hotel for the next couple of weeks. I thought it was like Amazon, put your card in and then shop (first time user error). Booked by accident; contacted GROUPON within 2 mins of the mistake. They said to contact the hotel. My husband called first-- they told him it had to be through Groupon. Groupon told me they needed to know who I spoke to. Total run-around. I called the hotel back and the guys literally said "Your husband called already, work it out with Groupon, I have guests in front of me.' Did nothing to help. So little grace in a time that I really need it. Keep the $200 bucks. If this place is on Groupon, there must be a reason. Customer Service, it goes a long way. read more

Affordable, modern, friendly, very noisy. Did I mention loud? Room walls are paper thin, you will hear everything above, next door, and in the hall. Staff are super helpful and friendly. Best part of the hotel is the staff. Beds are comfortable. Free bottle of water. Fridge, safe, closet, desk, lots of plugs for electronics, only a view from 3rd floor and above. No microwave. Room was not as clean as I would like but I have high standards... Ice is on the first floor near the front desk which is annoying but manageable. Have to walk down here to use a microwave too. Small pool, nice fitness center. Major CON: This place has paper thin walls and you can hear everything, and it sounds like thunder when people walk in the room above you. Overall Impression: For the price it is a decent stay, but beware of the major noise issues. If you are a light sleeper, this is NOT the hotel for you. If you are younger and can handle the noise, then give it a try. I will not stay here again due to the lack of sound insulation and constant noise. read more

I've stayed in a variety of Aloft hotels around the world, and this Aloft has the distinction in my mind of being the worst. Aloft Broomfield Denver accomplished this feat by simply being dirty. I stayed for a week on business, I was greeted to a room with the previous guest's empty beer cans on display, along with their hairy, dirty sheets on the made bed. I left a note for housekeeping to completely change the sheets, but (and I can't figure out why) they ignored to throw away the empty beer cans the next day. So I got to throw out that trash myself. Alofts are already not great hotels in general (each hotel is a cookie-cutter copy, cheap with amenities, no free food, small rooms), so failing to keep them clean nukes any chance I have of enjoying myself. read more

LOVE this hotel! It's so modern, artsy and hip! If you are going to a concert at 1st Bank or just staying in Bromfield I def. Recommend this place. The rooms are phenomenal, had a 2 queen bed room and it was very nice equipped with a flat screen. The lobby is so artsy and there's a full bar to sit at or you can play pool or sit by the pool! Cons: The pool is right by the front entrance so you have to be a model or in really good shape to feel comfortable with the pool location. The bartender was a dark blonde haired girl who was kind of rude. Also, the way the shower is set up, it leaks all over the bathroom floor. read more

I thought this hotel was really good, and so did the visitors I had from South America (Brazil). They were impressed not only with the modern feel/amenities, but also the price was VERY right. Pros:Good location (near the 1stbank center). Clearn, bright, modern rooms. Friendly front desk staff. Good pool. Really cool work out room (free disposable headphones and TV/bicycles!). Beds were very comfortable, A/C worked great. TV was wall mounted and flat screen. Very quiet hotel. All three of us that stayed in the 2 bed/queen size room did not hear a thing all nite. Quite and nice! Nice shower, fridge, safe and bed spreads. There was band playing the night we were there (SAT), but we did not hear them. We did not eat anything in the bar or food store (we went downtown). Cons: Bathroom door slides and is kind f strange, but is liveable. Out coffee pot did not work in the room. Overall, I would go back (and so would the people we had from South America). They thought for the price it was a steal. We would stay again just for a mini vacation! See my photos for more details. I will never go back to this hotel. When I first entered my hotel room, it smelled kind of musty, moldy, or something. It went away for the most part after I turn the air conditioning on. When I went to bed, I started noticing the sheets were kind of bunched up and they wouldn't smooth out. The next morning that smell was back. I took off all the sheets and found this disgusting mattress. That massive stain looks like a collection of different bodily secretions, collected over who knows how long. I went to the manager and ask for a new mattress. He refused and said he would have the mattress washed.. a man showed up with this big machine and did start to wash the mattress, so I had to leave. When I came back a couple of hours later, my room is open, nobody there nobody watching my belongings. There was just a fan pointed at my bed to dry all that chemical they used. The chemical smell was so strong I couldn't stay in my room. I had to be out all day until it dried. That chemical smell never went away, I smelled it all night long while trying to sleep. When I checked out, I complained about that mattress again. They apologized and said they would give me extra points..? FYI there is no microwave in the room and the refrigerator barely has room for six beers. read more

The hotel is nice and clean. So it gets some stars for that. But the walls are paper thin. I woke up the first night freaking out because I heard someone breathing in the room with me. I had been binging The Haunting of Hill House recently so that didn't help. Turns out the person in the room next to me had a CPAP and I was hearing that. At another point in the night I'm fairly certain that I heard horses running above me. Honestly, I could deal with all of that. The real deal breaker for me is that their WiFi is shit. I'm pretty sure I could get better Internet speeds in a war-torn third-world country. And Verizon doesn't have great coverage here so my portable mifi wasn't able to help. read more

I stayed at Aloft this past weekend and while the hotel itself was decent, we experienced the worst customer service that I've experienced during any hotel stay thus far. When checking in, I was told there would just be a $50 incidental deposit since I pre-paid for my room. When checking my account later that day, I realized they had charged me $494. I kindly went to speak to the Front Desk Manager in hopes she could fix it and she was extremely rude and condescending and tried to tell me that the almost $500 was indeed the incidentals charge and would "fall off" after I check out. Well, lo and behold, upon check out I was double charged for the stay and it officially posted to my account. Of course, I now am not able to reach anyone at the hotel and I've had to resort to contacting Marriott's corporate team. I've been meaning to write this review for a long time, as the highest possible member of Marriott's rewards program you do not expect housekeeping to knock on your door with a manager and wake you up to falsely accuse you of "hoarding" their horrible, thin hotel toilet paper. When I invited them to look through the room and my belongings the manager refused. If I'm going to be accused to something so absurd you should be prepared to look through my room if you're going to accuse/wake me! I stayed at this hotel for MONTHS when we couldn't decide if we were going to remain in CO. We left right after he accused us of this and gave me a lesson on how guests only received 2 rolls of toilet paper which is all we had!! At first he seemed like a great manager so I was extremely shocked at how horrible he began to treat us. I honestly think I should've complained directly to Marriott. I stayed in touch with some of the employees and heard he's gone anyway! Thank god. The front desk and most other employees were great though!! I would give them 5 stars. read more

I work for a corporation (and I formerly have worked for marriott) and I called to get some reservations for my company. The sales Director Allie calls me to waste time talking about points (which I never asked to use or gain) and tells me in what ways she can't help me book rooms and proceeds to say, well you can book online.... so if I book online what's the point of your job? Should the website run the business? As a former Marriott employee I know that this contact would be unacceptable to her management. I'll book my employees at a Hyatt. And take my $2K elsewhere. The check-in and check-out process was ok. Breakfast took a bit longer than it should've (they use the same people as the check-in and I didn't see her wash her hands!). But at least they comped my $5 breakfast sandwich? Nice place, big parking lot, free gym. I would come back except for the beds are cheap and uncomfortable and the volume is a bit loud (came here for a biz trip). read more

I struggled for two hours to get wifi, so I swung by desk to ask about it at desk. I was told - I had to call them- to get this fixed. Them? Who is them? This is hotel WiFi. If this hotel can't take ownership of wifi in their hotel and make some effort, then no one should ever stay here. Front desk staff got so glib as to hang up on me, then not even answer phone when I called back. Alex might not know what to do about it, but making no effort doesn't win her any fans here. Didn't even care. I stay in hotels 30 weeks out of the year, and I have never met with such rude indifference. Never. Stay. Here. I will tell my travel dept to remove this hotel from our approved list. You should avoid ALoft as it is staffed by Aholes. read more
