Hotel was very clean, nice hotel. Didn't want to give it one star because I think it was okay for some things. We didn't get much sleep because In N Out was right outside our window and the freeway was right next to it. The noise level was LOUD until about 2am. We couldn't sleep because it sounded like they were driving and talking and yelling outside our window. We didn't want to change rooms because we didn't want the hassle, but I'm sure on another side of the hotel it's much quieter. read more

We chose Aloft Tempe because it's dog-friendly, and it truly lived up to that! There's a $50 per night pet fee, per room, perfect for us and our two small dogs. Behind the pool area, there's even a well-maintained grassy spot where dogs can go off-leash, complete with poop bags provided. There's a small parking fee (about $10/night), and a few casual dining options right outside, including In-N-Out Burger, which made meals easy and convenient. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere from check-in to check-out. Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable with all the expected Aloft amenities. We especially appreciated the blackout blinds for a good night's sleep, and they even provide disposable earplugs--a thoughtful touch since the hotel is near the highway and you might hear some noise. The pool area is small, but it's big enough for a few laps if you want to swim. There's also a rinsing shower, and sunbeds available if it's not too hot to relax outside. The location is about as good as it gets, right near In N Out, Jersey Mike's, and Starbucks. The water and coffee are included. But everything else, we had to pay for, as no breakfast was included. The bar was pretty good, they had several local beers on tap, they were all around $10 each. So it may not have been cheap, but the variety was fine. And the rooms have that European feel to them. No closed drawers in the room, only a Book of Mormon, and our room had no Bible, which was ridiculous. I also liked the bathroom, the shower had pump bottles of body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Good water pressure as well. The negative to it was there was no fan or air ventilation in the bathroom...which is very much needed. One of the weirdest things was the TV turns off on its own after a certain amount of time and it can't be stopped. It displays a 60 second timer that it'll be shutting off and you have to hit OK on the remote to stop it. Except hitting OK didn't do anything. So several times, we had to turn the TV back on and let it load back up, which took a few seconds. I hope other hotels don't do this too. Maybe it's for saving electricity and it's assuming we're asleep? Staff was very nice, they allowed me into the meeting room so I could have a quiet place to record videos for my Youtube channel. read more

Stayed here back in February when I was attending Innings Festival. Not sure what else was going on in the area because pretty much all the hotels were booked up and sold out, and this Aloft was no exception. The goods: super close to the airport; it took maybe 15 minutes from the airport to get to the hotel. There's an In 'n Out burger right across the street from the hotel so if you're hungry, you could just walk there, and this hotel was only a couple of miles away from the festival location and had plenty of electric scooters outside the hotel to get you to the festival. The hotel location was pretty close to pretty much everywhere else I wanted to check out while in town. Check in process was pretty easy. We came in kind of early and even though the hotel was sold out, they accommodated us and allowing us to check in early by giving us one of the rooms that had been cleaned up. Obviously, no upgraded was given but I was planning on staying away from the hotel the majority of the time anyway, so this was no biggie. The bad? Paper-thin walls! Lots of noises can be heard from the hallway while I was in the room. There's a bar downstairs but It was closed the whole time I was here. At least I'd never seen it operational while I was in the hotel. Would I stay here again? Sure. But not at the $300+/night they were charging for the duration I stayed here. Luckily, I was using my Marriott Points to stay here so I didn't have to pay for all that. read more

The location of this hotel is great. Parking is easy and $10 per night. The lobby staff is pleasant. However, I did not enjoy my 3 night stay. Reason 1: it's too noisy. They provide ear plugs and a sleep kit if you ask for one but unfortunately it doesn't stand a chance against the noise level. Doors slamming in the hallways, planes flying closely, the heater in the room sounds like a lawnmower. The walls may be too thin. I could hardly get enough sleep to be able to enjoy my vacation. Reason 2: the heater wouldn't turn off. No matter how much we hit the off button it would come back on minutes later and this was a vicious cycle all day and night. Reason 3: the tv was stuck in sleep mode and kept shutting off in the evenings. The tv showed some other guests name and number 3 of 4 days. Our Netflix credentials would sign out every day. It was very annoying... Reason 4: the phone in the room doesn't let you call the front desk. The phone wouldn't dial any number at all actually. Reason 5: the housekeeper who cleaned our room did not replenish face towels. I tried to call the front desk to request more and that's how I found out our phone didn't work. I had to Google the number and call from my cell. The housekeeper was sent back to my room to deliver the towels. Unfortunately, she did not speak English and it took me having to use the little Spanish I know and several questions to get two towels. This is way too much work on my days off. I want to ask for a refund because this should not have been my experience. read more

Blah in every sense of the word from the entry, one person desk (who isn't allowed to sit down), to the awful uninviting design of the common areas. Ridiculous breakfast paperwork too! The cheap/economic cut backs for a hotel with the Marriott name was astonishing! Bed was lumpy! Was it a used bed from an upscale Marriott. The pillows were lumpy too..not one was even up to quality and they need to be all thrown out! The linens were low quality! Who decided to paint the bathroom puke pea green? Sand paper Cheap Toilet paper! Four hangers only on pegs with a dirty curtain! If you like cement, no atmosphere, then the pool is for you! Marriott hotels should be ashamed to have their name attached as I selected this hotel mainly on my Marriott experiences that have all been wonderful. If I were the Marriott chain, I would have a ghost guest check it out and delete this one from your books! First time staying here, I picked this hotel since it was close to my office. Great and conveniently located and about 25 minute drive from the airport. It has has a nice ambiance when you walk in, friendly staff and bar area is pretty cool. The room was nice and spacious and a nice view of the pool. I also liked that each unit has a bible which is something you don't see in other hotels. The only minus is a little more attention to cleaning and dusting the room. read more

Exceptional hospitality from both the welcome/check in staff and any workers I interacted with here. They made me feel valued as a Marriott customer and were very friendly. The location is excellent and the rooms are nice. There are LOTS of good grab and go food and drink options as well as an actual cooked to order breakfast. Whoever is managing this place at the current time is doing a great job training and/or hiring good employees. My only 2 complaints would be that while the pillows are some sort of down/feather they collapse immediately. Virtually zero support and they get flat. Even doubling them up I had a difficult time getting comfortable. And depending on the time of the day there is a decent volume of plane traffic so depending where your room is it might be a little noisy. Otherwise a great place and also they have a cool bar / lounge area and tons of quick eat restaurants walkable from the property. Ample free parking too. Forgot to mention a wonderful surprise - daily housekeeping! This is how every hotel used to be and then during the corona bs many hotels started using that as a reason to only clean intermittently and then ultimately stuck with that to save money. Close to restaurants and a five minute walk to Tempe Town Lake; 10 min walk to Tempe Town Marina. Long Review: I stayed at this hotel for the weekend, attending the annual AZ Dragonboat Festival. It looked nice in the pictures and did not disappoint when we got there. The staff was SO friendly when we got there, and really throughout the weekend. Not only was the check in and check out process seamless, but they were very helpful and always providing suggestions about what's good in the area. The rooms weren't bad either. Because I was sharing a room with a friend I thought there wouldn't be much of an area for privacy when getting dressed in the morning, but there is a divider between the sleeping area and the bathroom which worked out well! The room was bright and clean and very quiet. Quite impressive. The lobby was stocked with great snacks and drinks (beer/wine too) and their continental breakfast featured a variety of choices. The BEST part of it though? There is an In-N-Out right across the street! A 2-minute walk!! They also offer free transportation to/from the Phoenix airport which was great too. I lodged here for the Ironman 70.3. With nerves on edge about this big race, it was comforting knowing that I didn't have to worry one bit about laying my head here at night. The supervisor was very kind, and so was the rest of the staff. The room was clean, and the halls were nice and quiet the entire stay. This was a perfectly fine place to stay. I picked it due to the proximity to work while I was there which was perfect. It has a modern, funky vibe with a nice bar/lounge. The free breakfast - meh. Sweet rolls, muffins and some bagels. The coffee here, however, gets high marks from me. It's strong enough but smooth, good flavor. MUCH better than most hotel coffee. They do have a kitchen with make to order options (egg, oatmeal, yogurt bowls, etc.) in the $10 range. The king room was ok, bed was very comfy, room recently remodeled. The a/c fan was a little loud and our room was unfortunately situated facing the highway so we heard quite a bit of loud road noise. Ask for a room on the opposite side! The coffee pod things in the room were actually quite good also - same as what's down in the lobby I believe. There were no drawers, only a floor to ceiling shelf system to stash your clothes with a very small area to hang things. Unless you are 7 ft tall, the ability to use the top shelves is impossible. And the shower was really nice but water pressure was a little weak. There were a couple hooks in the bathroom but again, one of them was soooo high, I had to really stretch to reach it (and I'm 5'8"). read more

I had to check into a hotel room for 4 days while my apartment was getting its carpet replaced and painted so I had to choose a hotel close to my work. The first motel that I stayed in down the street from this Aloft was a complete and total disaster so I had to get out of there and get into a place that was fit for humans. I was very happy to be checking into this Aloft this morning and see that it was clean and that the service was decent and that the bathroom worked. So this Aloft I thought was pretty decent. I know the service when I was checking in was very good. The room was clean. And it was pretty quiet which is something that I like in a hotel and they had decent coffee which is a change of pace for any hotel I can say this, compared to the last hell-hole motel I just stayed in for the last 2 days this Aloft is a lifesaver. read more

I enjoyed this hotel for what we were using it for, which was watching the Tempe Town Lake fireworks from the hotel room. It was really cool hotel and all the employees were super friendly and nice. The bar in the hotel also has a pretty good happy hour from 5-7pm, which is cool. Within walking distance there's a few quick food places which was convenient for dinner and breakfast. My only realy issue was their were weird marks on the walls in the room I had, near the ceiling...not sure what they were but that and the small pool are what made them lose a star. I would definitely stay here again on the 4th or New Years again. read more

Horrible service. Started out bad when we checked in. The girl at front desk basically yelled at my boyfriend telling him they don't accept that card, without offering any solution to the problem. The battery to out safe in our room was dead and we were told it would be fixed. That never happened. The only good and friendly employee was Nikki who was a temp working the WXYZ bar. Definitely do not recommend this hotel, and If this is a Marriott partner, i must say Marriott has some work To do to uphold their name. read more

In 2018 I stayed at this hotel and was totally satisfied. Seems as if over the couple of years things have changed. I was disappointed in the customer service and the cleanliness of the hotel. These pictures are a bit disturbing but I feel they need to be shared. I feel management did not empathize enough about the room I was checked into. Although my loyalty to Marriott doesn't mean anything, I was still put aside as if I was another upset guest. This hotel has definitely seen its days and I will not be returning to this hotel. This place, although seemed clean, was meh. I arrived around 7p and there was only one person checking people in at the front desk, and there were about 4 people waiting. It took longer than it should have to get checked in, which was annoying after travelling all day. The weirdest thing about the hotel was the room. The sink, shower and toilet were right by the door. There was no wall/door blocking the sink which it literally next to the door, and there is a thin sliding door that separates the toilet and shower. The rest of the room was ok, but it faced the thruway, so it was VERY noisy and hard to sleep if you are a light sleeper, or were like me and forgot your earplugs. I did visit the bar, and the bartender was very nice, and attentive. I did order some tacos the first night that were pretty good. I also tried the breakfast each morning and that was a little cumbersome as you order at the window, but then pay the front desk which wasn't totally clear the first time I did it. But the breakfast bowls were decent. The decor of the hotel was a little childish, almost cartoon-like. However, it did seem fairly clean all around. I've stayed at one other Aloft, and I usually like Marriott properties, but I would not return to this one again. read more

Each year I go to Phoenix for a week to enjoy spring training baseball. I have stayed at 3 different Hyatt properties including their Andaz in Scottsdale. Then the Aloft Tempe opened and I have been staying here for the last five years. First it is super convenient to the interstates, the ballparks, old town Scottsdale and the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. But what sets this hotel apart from the rest is their people. Their front desk staff call me by name every time I walk past their desk (shout out to Kate who is amazing). Their housekeeping staff are super friendly as well. Well I finally was able to stay at the a loft which is a hotel that several of my friends have stayed at when they have flown into town. I have to say that it really wasn't too bad I know that there have been many reviews that have not been good about this hotel and I have to say that I stayed here over the weekend because my condo was being painted and I had a nice pleasant experience. The people who work here were pleasant the rooms are clean and the service was pretty good. The only downside here during my stay was that the people who work here had an attitude.But aside from that I have nothing bad to say and everything went well. read more
