DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! We were awoken at 3 am to bed begs on the bed and when we check found evidence of them all over the sheets and in the pillow case. It was 3 am in the morning, the receptionist was nonchalant and unapologetic about the situation. We were not going to swap rooms due to the unsanitary situation to so we checked out and had to start our trip home early to sanitize and isolate our belongings. Because it was 3AM Janelle stated that she couldn't do anything and we would have to wait for Mr. Carlos Zavala to call. He never called so I reached out to. Mr. Zavala and he claimed that he had someone come out and checked the room and couldn't find anything. He also started to insinuate that the rooms headboard doesn't match their records when clearly we checked in to room 308 and had photos of our experience. Do not stay here unless you plan on bringing bed bugs home!! They have no accountability and would rather deny the outbreak rather improve their customer service and room cleanliness. I probably wouldn't stay here again. There are better hotels in the area for the price. Pros: Close to the airport. Ronny, at the front desk, and the other staff are very friendly, professional, and polished. Good, hot water pressure in the shower. The gym is pretty good- water was always stocked, equipment worked, plenty of towels. They have a couple of bikes, free weights, a rower, and other cardio machines. Cons: Proximity to the airport leads to a lot of noise, making it difficult to sleep. They did provide earplugs which didn't help very much. No room service. Responses to messages on the Marriott app are slow. No makeup mirror in the bathroom. Room was uninspiring. There was one small drawer and no other place to unpack. The shower was of dubious cleanliness. Coffee machine in the room was sub-par (W has nespresso for example). Limited toiletry extras. Housekeeping doesn't go the extra mile (for example arranging toiletries for you, restocking lotion, etc). read more

A short walk to ASU campus, the hotel is positioned well for business and sports. Let break this hotel down: Pros: 1. Easy, friendly check in and out. 2. Amazing pool! 3. The food was really good. We had teriyaki chicken on fried rice, hummus plate, and hamburgers. Yet, the best was just the simple Caesar salad. 4. Lots of walking paths including riverside. Cons: 1. The room is not for designed for a long term stay. No real desk to speak of and little space to hang or store clothes. 2. The breakfast was okay ... variety. Yet, it has only seven tables. Twice in 4 days I had no where to sit in the restaurant and ended up in the bar. 3. One restaurant within walking distance. Everything else is a hike or an Uber ride to get to. 4. recently stayed at the AC Hotel Phoenix Tempe/Downtown and overall had a great experience. The hotel was very clean, the atmosphere was nice, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The only issue during our stay was with housekeeping. We had requested service the day prior, but our room was skipped. When we returned around 3pm housekeeping was next door and hadn't realized our room needed to be done, so we ended up waiting about 30 minutes for it to be cleaned. The BIGGEST concern, however, was the pricing at checkout. We purchased a bottle of wine that is normally priced around $10-$12, at Ralph's or Vons but we were charged $72. That markup was surprising and honestly didn't sit well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but better communication with housekeeping and more transparent pricing would make a big difference. Again direct staff doesn't DID NOT choose the pricing of my wine of choice, they were awesome. The 3 stars is towards the hotels price gouging! Simply sad. Everything else was great!!! read more

Ample seating space to chill out with a book or with friends. $18 parking for guests a night- drawback is the parking garage is across the street. However there is temporary parking in front of the entrance to load/ unload your vehicle and check in before you need to trek back out and park. The rooftop pool is a great feature... only draw back was lack of signage letting you know the towels are located inside versus as the poolside. Good location - close to bustling downtown Tempe but away from the crowds allowing for a bit more solitude. Will stay there again. read more

Came to Phoenix for a worktrip and stayed here for 3 days. The room was very nice and clean. Bathroom toilet seat was a weird square shape that wasn't super comfortable. The shower had a normal shower head and a ceiling one which was nice. There was a gym and a pool outside on the top the top floor but I didn't have time to check it out. The breakfast was a $20 tapas style breakfast buffet was limited food options. There were fresh cheese, deli meats, and small egg bites. It was definitely overpriced for what you get. Overall it was a good stay and very close to the ASU campus/downtown phoenix. read more

I had an amazing time during my most recent visit here. I've been to many hotels for business and pleasure with my partner, but the personnel at the AC Hotel by Marriott Phoenix Tempe/Downtown went above and beyond to make our particular stay one we won't soon forget. I spoke with Cedric, the manager of the front office. In order to organize an engagement proposal on the day of the reservation, I contacted this hotel in advance. Cedric was a calm, collected individual who genuinely understood my predicament. In addition to making sure I was taken care of, he offered to upgrade my accommodation as a congratulations. Being a Marriott Bonvoy member I genuinely felt appreciated. Cedric and his team made the effort to ensure that I was comfortable and satisfied with everything. They offered my newly fiancé and I some drinks and provided me with a fantastic view of the hotel room. Our expectations were fully satisfied, and our accommodation was quite cozy. It contains everything you need in the room. A safe, an iron and board, a refrigerator, and a hair dryer. They also have an indoor fitness facility and rooftop pool for visitors, although we didn't get to use them. You can park in any space in the parking garage next door for $18 per night. At the time of the visit, there were many of spots available; just be sure to leave all valuables and possessions outside for protection. All in all, if you're ever in the Tempe region, I highly recommend checking out this site. There are lots of things to see and do in the area, and staying at a hotel with happy employees only adds to the enjoyment of your trip. read more

The hotel is clean and all that but the service is just TERRIBLE... I haven't stayed in such a poor hotel in a long time. They don't issue digital keys because they like the "face to face". No thanks. Just send a digital key. They don't announce that they had a cook walk out on them 2 weeks ago so they aren't servicing food at the AC Lounge. The front desk doesn't even tell you that. For breakfast they serve a "European style" breakfast. So for $20, yes $20 a person you can get and only get frozen pastries, meat slices and fruits. Lol... $20.. Avoid this hotel read more

This was my first stay and last at this hotel. The employees aren't friendly,when I checked in new years eve the man who checked me in was rude and talked to me like I was dumb because I didn't hear that he requested my ID and credit card. He didn't tell me any information about the breakfast I purchased, wifi, anything he gave me my keys and told me where to park. I get to my $300 a night suite its filthy white stains on the curtains,pubic hair on my wash cloth, dirt and soap scum on the shower, food crumbs on the floor, the air vent covered in dust bunnies and no where to put my or my husband's clothes. No drawers just a micro "closet" with 4 hangers so we had to live out of our suitcases for two days. Parking was a joke,you're forced to pay for it but every time I left the tag I was given by the desk didn't work due to "an update of their system," so I had to call customer service every single time I left to let me out. I've stayed at numerous marriott hotels including Residence Inn where people actually live. Those were cleaner and in better condition then this hotel. Definitely not worth $300 a night. Especially since you can hear everything,people above you,the light rail,cars,etc. I am very disappointed,I wouldn't really recommend this place unless you don't mind everything mentioned above. We had stayed at a AC Hotel in NYC and had good experience. This time we picked the AC Phoenix due to the super close proximity of the starting line of the Rock N Roll Run. We literally just walk a block over! Being Marriott members we had the choice of $10/day person for food. We decided to save them for all the snacks by the front desk. They also have a microwave at the snack area which worked out perfect because we had leftovers from another meal. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. I actually had to catch up on work and no problem with the wifi or the work space area. We did have a car rental for the weekend, and I think the only con was how far the parking lot is. It's a structure across the way from the hotel. They do provide coffee in the morning and lavender pack at night at the lobby. read more

We've stayed at AC Hotels in Milan and San Francisco, the former from before AC was a Marriott property, and enjoy the architecture and decor. We chose this one for its proximity to an event we were attending this past weekend. We travel infrequently enough that we have effectively zero status with the Marriott loyalty program. Front desk service was polite and efficient, but rose petals did not fall from the ceiling in our interactions. The room was very efficiently laid out, with a view of the Salt River. The bed was quite comfortable, but had only a pretty thick duvet. We prefer a much thinner cover when the temps are high, and the thermostat couldn't be set much below 70°. The room's air conditioner rattled quite a bit, and the hotel is directly under the flight path for Sky Harbor Airport, with flights starting up about 4 am. Since we were staying only one night, we didn't ask for any assistance with the air conditioner or linens. We did get charged $18 for parking. We declined to spend the $20 per person for breakfast, but found it elsewhere. read more

We stayed here for two nights and were able to get one of the better upgrades as Platinum members. We got a corner suite with a balcony so we had a nice view of the butte across the street. When the sun was not on the balcony it was a nice place to hang out in the evening. The room itself was spacious and nicely laid out. We liked that you could walk into downtown Tempe and to many restaurants and bars. Very handy. The riverwalk just a block away. Bottom line a great location. The pool on the roof was very nice though there is not much shade. The parking was convenient in the next door garage but of course it was not cheap. The front desk crew as helpful and friendly. One minor downside was there was no laundry - guess we are not the target client for this location. Also the rooms could use better sound insulation especially being on the landing path for the nearby airport. I would stay here again. read more

It's an OK at this AC Marriott. As many of you know, AC stands for "Adequate Comfort"; and at this AC - yes you'll get AC and sadly nothing more . I always find this AC pricier due to its location, being close to a corporate center. Nonetheless, I've stayed here a few times now due to the convenient location, but with each stay, my experience have gotten worse. Room - AC and clean. Bare bone with amenities: you get the basics - towel, tissue, TP. However the room is NOISY! (1) First, you are close to the PHX airport so there's constant plane noises where airplanes are flying over your head (2) Secondly, there's a fan in the bathroom that you cannot shut off. I called the reception to inquire and basically there's nothing they can do - it's a fan for hotel air circulation that just has to keep running 24x7. It is noisy but closing the bathroom door eliminates over 50% of the fan noise. (3) Then the Air Conditioning is loud. And I was at AC during a cooler week so needed to keep the heater on, so it ran loud throughout the evening. Overall an OK experience here. read more

This trip has sealed the deal and I likely will not be returning to this hotel. I have stayed at this hotel 4-5 times over the last 4 months for work. Great location and convenient to the office. The first couple stays were great, friendly staff and clean room. Last time I was here, at check in the woman who checked me in was not very friendly at all, not rude but definitely different from my previous stays. She also asked if I would prefer daily or every other day for housekeeping. I requested daily. The next day no housekeeping. When I asked the front desk, they apologized and said I was signed up for every other day. Slightly annoying but not a big deal. This visit, I checked in around 5pm and was checked in by, again, a not so friendly woman, who, again, asked if I wanted daily housekeeping. I said yes. Got up to my room, ordered dinner, then went to shower. No hot water. Figured I would wait a bit and try again. Two hours later, no hot water. Started calling the front desk and no answer. Finally after the 3rd call in thirty minutes, I went downstairs only to find out there was no hot water and it had been broken for awhile. I was offered half price for my parking so a whopping $7 as compensation, gee thanks. WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED AT CHECK IN?? Terrible customer experience and the part that really has me mad was the sheer lack of communication. At this point it was 9pm so took a freezing cold shower. If I had known I could have booked a blow out, gone to the gym to shower, etc but no, now everything was closed. Next morning, still no hot water and did not receive housekeeping AGAIN. I had also sent out 2 shirts, once returned one was still just as wrinkled as when I sent it out. When I called out both to the front desk, I simply got a weak apology and asked if I need any towels. When paying $200/day and with the amount of competition in the area I would expect more. As mentioned before, this will likely be my last stay and that is due to the decreasing experience over the last two stays coupled with the blatant lack of communication at check in around a major hotel issue. Nice, clean hotel that meets my Marriott expectations. Very quiet during our stay in early May. Several great seating areas near the bar that offer some privacy. We had a view of the hill out of our window which I enjoyed even though it's basically a big mound of dirt. Service at the front desk and the bar were great. We really appreciated being able to check in very early (around 11:00am). Parking is an extra fee, but that seems to be the norm in this area. The lot was clean - and had surprisingly great video customer support when our parking pass wasn't working! I hope to check out the rooftop pool at our next stay. I would take off a half star if I could for some of the design elements - no air flow in the rooms or common spaces, and odd-shaped rooms that don't allow for multiple suitcases to be opened up. Would definitely stay here again. read more

Hotel Stay Review: Caution Regarding Payment Processing 414 N 5th St, Phoenix Az, 85004 Location During my recent stay, I encountered a frustrating and avoidable experience at check-in regarding payment processing. Upon arrival, I was asked to swipe the card I wanted to use for the reservation. Despite my card having a chip and tap feature, the front desk attendant insisted on swiping, which did not work. Rather than utilizing the available tap or insert options, which were fully functional, I was asked if I had another card. I then attempted to use my debit card, which also did not swipe properly. After finally using the chip feature--something that should have been offered from the start--the transaction went through. I immediately informed the attendant that I did not want to use that card and preferred to use my original one, now that I know the tap and insert is working, He assured me that signing and pressing the red "X" would cancel the transaction. Unfortunately, this was not the case. A $1,200 authorization was charged to the wrong card and was not refunded until five days after I had checked out and returned home--despite my efforts to resolve it on-site. Travelers should be aware: only use the card you intend to be charged and avoid swiping altogether. Insist on inserting or tapping your card, and if any issues arise, request a manager who is properly trained on the hotel's payment system. The lack of clarity and proper handling of payment caused unnecessary stress during what should have been a relaxing stay, in addition to the dirty stained carpets and no new sheets just a made bed which I already did myself since it's my usual routine anyways. read more

What a great find! We were hard up for a place to stay after a terrible experience with an Airbnb that was so bad we packed up and left in the middle of the night. After searching for another spot we came across AC Hotel in Tempe. They treated us so well, and the rooms were cozy, fresh and spotless! Even checking in in my PJs at 2 in the morning, I was welcomed and made to feel immediately comfortable. The hotel was also very fairly priced, well located in the middle of some of the most walkable areas of Phoenix Metro, and right on the edge of Tempe Town Lake. We'll absolutely be back! Perfect! Clean, awesome facilities, close to the water and zoo! Plenty of bird scooters around if you're not up to walking. I had the best time! They do charge 16$ a day for parking so keep that in mind but the rooftop pool, gym and other amenities make it so worth it! read more

Had to stay a night in phoenix due to a missed connection. Hotel was extremely clean and nice, room was very nice as well. Reviews said beds were comfortable so that is why we picked this hotel. I would give the bed a 6.5/10 on hotel bed scale.. not the best as it was extremely firm/we felt some springs in the mattress but the pillows, duvet and comfortable clean room made it better. Ac only goes to 68 which should be a crime in AZ, it was 110 and we like it cold. Hotel did provide a fan when requested which was awesome. read more

Now I didn't stay there we just went to see a friend so I don't have much to say for service but the atmosphere was amazing. The pool is rooftop and wow is it is great view. Just a neat all around place. They allowed a cooler at the pool as well as a speaker. That I love. Sometimes you feel you're competing with others at the pool but it was just so chill. Just to let you know, it pains me to update this review as I love this downtown Tempe Hotel. As anyone would, my husband and I were so looking forward to staying at our favorite Spring Training Hotel this weekend, and then MLB canceled Spring Training. Not only was the announcement made early in the day, it was made almost exactly 24 hours prior to our arrival time. I called the hotel immediately to let them know that due to the circumstances with the Corona Virus and the cancellation of Spring Training, we were no longer going to be coming. Believe it or not, the refused to refund my first night room and tax charge. I am completely disgusted! Obviously we would still be going if the situation wasn't what it is. So ya, now I'm stuck paying. For a long time Marriott Bonvoy member, this angers me beyond belief. I spoke to the hotel manager, an 800 Bonvoy representative, their supervisor, and they wouldn't budge. I was even told: "do you know how much money we will loose if me make this same accommodation for everyone." My mouth hit the floor when I heard that. This is the epitome of horrid customer service. As I previously mentioned, I'm a long-standing Bonvoy member, I love this hotel, love and stay at Marriott properties all over the world, but this has soured me. It's going to take me a long time to even consider staying at another Bonvoy property. What a shame... read more

This place is only okay. The parking situation is unpleasant under normal circumstances -- you pay $16 a night for the privilege of parking in a garage across the street from the hotel. Now, the garage entrance they use is under construction so you are forced to enter the garage even further away. Don't be confused by the closer garage that's literally labeled AC Marriott with a system that accepts the pass you're given! That one is wrong for some reason. The garage is very easy for the general public to access so I just don't understand what about the experience warrants a fee of $16 per night. Food is mediocre but they have an amazing copywriting team that tells you it's actually good. No consistent availability of water containers or water bottles for the gym. read more

The 5 star reviews are baffling to me. The hotel is modern and the rooms are clean. But, that is where the pleasantries end. You are directly in the flight path and on a busy road. The rooms are well insulated but not well enough to create a quiet environment. At this time, and for the foreseeable future, light rail is also being constructed right outside so there is additional noise from that. As others have mentioned, the AC unit in your room is also very noisy & the parking situation is a pain. Unless you really need to be in this specific location and do not mind a lot of environmental noise in your room, I would personally choose somewhere else to stay. read more

We have been coming to this hotel for many years. We have figured out most things about this hotel on our own after so many stays. This last stay was VERY different! Ronnie and Jeremiah were at the front desk when we checked in. We were actually early and not sure if we could check in early, but stopped by to check anyway. We walked in and there were people being helped at the front desk, by Jeremiah, which is fine we can wait. BUT we did not have to wait. Ronnie was stocking the convenience store shelves, and stopped when we walked in and he went to the desk to assist us. WOW! I was impressed. I then explained that we were hoping to check in a tad early, he said "no problem let me see what we have to offer". WOW again! He then gave us our room key, and advised me the virtual key would be delivered to my phone shortly. Ok this is all standard. Ronnie then went on to say HOW THE PARKING IN THE GARAGE WORKS! Wow, for the 3rd time. We have made this our choice hotel for 4 years and stay 2 times a year and NEVER have we had that explained to us. Bravo Ronnie. Then we noticed the convenience store had our favorite salsa and chips. Ronnie and Jeremiah put those items on the room account and we were off. Room was great, there were other employees we came across like the guy setting up the water containers, thank you! Always nice to have a carafe of water. We watched the boat parade from the pool area which was perfect, water in the pool was heated to a nice temp. This is why we don't bother with other hotels in Tempe, this one is in the perfect location and has the best employees working for them. After writing this review we are thinking Jeremiah could also be Jared? We know it is a J name. Both of them are phenomenal! Really impressed by this very modern and clean hotel in a great location. About four miles from the main airport in Phoenix it's also real close to Mill Avenue with all of it's restaurants. The one thing that struck me about the room was that I couldn't hear anyone above or next door. Couldn't hear anyone flushing the toilet or taking a shower. That and the bed was comfortable. Staff at check in and checkout were pleasant and helpful. While there is no restaurant per se they serve tapas and some bigger meals at the bar area. Had the shrimp both nights and loved that they were served hot. The Greek meatballs with tzaziki sauce were okay, just a bit dry. My brother had the salmon and he thought it was excellent. All in all a very good experience. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area. read more

This is a new hotel really convenient to the ASU campus. You can walk to the stadium, all of Mill Ave, and the campus as a whole. It's also really close to Scottsdale Rd which takes you right into the heart of Scottsdale. Unfortunately my room had a great view of the parking garage but the room had beautifully large floor to ceiling windows and AC's European clean, minimalist design. The front desk staff was efficient and very helpful. Check-in was a breeze and my room was stocked with my requests even though I booked the room at the last minute. There is a small convenience store inside of the lobby and of course a nice lobby bar. There is a beautiful pool with a beautiful view on the roof top. Unfortunately it was unseasonably cool so I wasn't able to enjoy it. Perhaps next time! read more

A sleek, spankin' new Euro-hip hotel across from Sun Devil Stadium and next to Mill Ave. If you have never heard of AC Hotels, then you are like me. I had to look it up. AC stands for Antonio Catalan, the guy that started these hotels, then he partnered up with Marriott and boom, now you have expansion. This AC Hotel is the first on the West Coast. One thing you will love or hate about the hotel rooms is that each room is full laminate/pergo flooring. It's nice because over time it feels cleaner than carpet, but if the hotel is full, the sound might bounce off the floors easier. When I visited, the hotel was practically empty so it was quiet all around for us. There isn't too much in terms of drawer space (if you're the type that likes to use drawers for your clothing), but there is a closet, hangers, empty fridge (comes with two bottles of water), coffee and tea maker, iron, ironing board. I really liked the bathroom color combo, but the non-locking, sliding, heavy frosted glass door could be an issue if you are sharing the room with some not so familar friends that are peepers or if you have curious kids that want to surprise you in the bathroom while you are showering. Nothing is visible through the door at all, it's just that anyone can slide it open if they want to. The hotel has a stunning rooftop pool that has a view of the corner of Sun Devil Stadium and a clear view of Tempe Town Lake on the other side. It's also an ideal place to watch the post-game ASU football fireworks on Saturdays. There is also a workout facility on the roof that has ellipticals, one bike, dumbbells and a Matrix functional trainer machine. The lobby and bar area has seating as well as huge, 10 lb heavy fashion forward books, like if you were in a Taschen bookstore. Parking: $14 Breakfast: $15 Wifi: Free This hotel does not have free breakfasts or complimentary happy hour snacks. Breakfast here is $15 and is euro-style, with juices, prosciutto, croissants, etc. If you eat half a pound of Prosciutto di Parma you'll easily get your money's worth, but that's a lot of sodium to process. Parking is $14 daily and you park in a separate structure that is just a few convenient steps from the hotel. When I was there over a long weekend the structure was empty, but I would imagine that it would be much busier on a weekday given that there are many new office buildings that are adjacent. Park in front of the hotel to check-in, then move your car into the structure after you get your parking pass from the front desk. Slightly annoying was the ice machine. I like that it spits out rabbit pellet ice, but the machine is sensor triggered, not lever or button triggered and the sensor is always sensitive or not sensing. It'll spit out half a cup of ice then randomly stop even though your cup/bottle/ice bin placement hasn't moved at all. Then you have pull your ice bin back and hope the sensor reads it again. One of the nicest things about staying here is the 40 step walk to Tempe Town Lake and Tempe Beach Park. No shady homeless peeps, just people getting their exercise in or walking their dogs. First time staying at an AC property which is comparable to a Marriott Courtyard as it is one of several brands under the Marriott umbrella. I like the chill atmosphere in the lounge and actually had a decent dinner on my arrival which was their teriyaki chicken over fried rice. Check in went smooth but thought it was strange since I am a Bonvoy platinum member that a plastic bag of towels were waiting for me at the front desk since I had requested extra housekeeping items beforehand. Normally Housekeeping will leave them in my room or bring them to my room once I arrive. I was told their guest parking lot has been under renovation for awhile so parking is across the way but it was not a big deal. Would I stay at this location again- "yes" but will probably check out other AC properties in the Phoenix/ Scottsdale area. Keep in mind, this location that I reserved was in Tempe near ASU and not in Phoenix as it is advertised. read more

Room was nice. Restaurant was inconvenient. Had to order uber eats as no room service & breakfast was always prosciutto, scrambled eggs and oatmeal for 10 days. It was more a nice bar with food for business meetings. Limited week day pool hours. Otherwise pleased. read more

We stayed here during a business trip. Customer service was great. I have no complaints about that. However, when my husband reserved our room we paid an extra $20.00 a day for breakfast, only to find out that the "Breakfasts" was a MEASLY 2 options in a PAPER BAG! We were so frustrated that we paid extra for a decent breakfast at this place, only to find out how crappy breakfasts were. So we didn't even bother. We went ahead and ate breakfast out. We basically got screwed out of that. Oh, and just and FYI: Regarding parking, you have to pay daily at a parking garage. read more

I was disappointed with the AC. It's one brand of the Marriott chain where I'd not stayed and I was looking forward to more of a boutique hotel experience. The front desk staff was never friendly from check in to check out. It felt as if you were interrupting their social media time. There wasn't a smile to be had. The words "Thank you for being a Titanium member" were said as the reception clerk was typing away. The parking lot is a separate building from the hotel and not labeled at all. The parking spaces also are not clearly labeled, nor were we provided any instructions as to how we were supposed to park. I had to use my credit card to get into the garage and was charged $20 every time we drove out. There were also a ton of parking cones narrowing down the entrance to the garage and we had a scary encounter with a jacked up truck that was too big to fit in their coned off lane. I paid $20 for the breakfast. There was one nice young man working, but he was all by himself and run off his feet. The breakfast was good but absolutely not worth $20. All in all I was underwhelmed and I won't be staying here again. The Buttes is older but the property is lovely and the staff is warm and extremely welcoming. And the Westin is just a nicer hotel over all with happier employees and rooms and view that appeal to me a great deal. Also, the rooftop bar at the Westin is an absolute winner. read more

My husband and I travel to Phoenix for the holidays, and this hotel is where we intend to stay from now on. The rooms are fabulous, the hotel's location is perfect, and the price is exceedingly reasonable ($568 for four nights, including taxes and parking). Initially, I hesitated to book here because of my assumptions about the parking. A few reviewers mentioned that parking is a pain, and being familiar with the area from previous visits, I knew that the street parking is limited and metered along Mill St and that there would not be a big parking lot next to the hotel. Being able to come and go easily via car is important to us, so I called the hotel before booking to make sure I understood how parking works. Parking is $14 a day in a large parking garage next to the hotel. Upon check in, you receive a card that allows you to go in and out of the parking garage as many times as you want during your stay. Hotel guests park on the first floor of the garage, and there is plenty of space. Our rental car was a huge truck, and we had no problem finding room. There is also a small parking lot directly in front of the hotel with spaces for approximately 10 cars, which is very convenient. At check in, the staff encourage guests to not park in that lot overnight. We had no problems whatsoever with parking, which was a huge relief to me. In my opinion, the best part of this hotel is the rooftop pool. It is heated and saltwater and beautifully lit up at night. When we visited, the outdoor temperature at night was about 60 degrees F, and almost every night my husband and I took a nighttime swim around 10 pm. There is nothing like a good swim to rejuvenate oneself after hanging out with my snowbird parents and other visiting family! The hotel rooms are sleek, modern, and clean. The bed was comfy, the sheets were silky smooth, and there were a ton of pillows. The rooms have refrigerators, and the cleaning service put two complementary wattle bottles and two chilled glasses in the fridge every day. The TVs have Netflix built in, and we were also able to use our own HDMI cord to connect a tablet to the TV to stream shows from Amazon prime. The location of the hotel can't be beat: walking distance to everything fun on Mill St, walking distance to the path up "A" Mountain, and with easy access to the 202 on-ramp to get around greater Phoenix. There are bikes to rent from one of the local bike share programs right across E Rio Salado Pkwy, and there is a wide path for walking, running, and cycling next to the hotel that goes along the Salt River. We've stayed at hotels in Old Town Scottsdale and Paradise Valley, but this hotel in Tempe is our favorite by far! read more
