    See wine for $72.00

recently stayed at the AC Hotel Phoenix Tempe/Downtown and overall had a great experience. The hotel was very clean, the atmosphere was nice, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The only issue during our stay was with housekeeping. We had requested service the day prior, but our room was skipped. When we returned around 3pm housekeeping was next door and hadn't realized our room needed to be done, so we ended up waiting about 30 minutes for it to be cleaned. The BIGGEST concern, however, was the pricing at checkout. We purchased a bottle of wine that is normally priced around $10-$12, at Ralph's or Vons but we were charged $72. That markup was surprising and honestly didn't sit well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but better communication with housekeeping and more transparent pricing would make a big difference. Again direct staff doesn't DID NOT choose the pricing of my wine of choice, they were awesome. The 3 stars is towards the hotels price gouging! Simply sad. Everything else was great!!!

Clean, updated and decent location. A decent full bar and good service. Ample seating space to chill out with a book or with friends. $18 parking for guests a night- drawback is the parking garage is across the street. However there is temporary parking in front of the entrance to load/ unload your vehicle and check in before you need to trek back out and park. The rooftop pool is a great feature... only draw back was lack of signage letting you know the towels are located inside versus as the poolside. Good location - close to bustling downtown Tempe but away from the crowds allowing for a bit more solitude. Will stay there again.

Came to Phoenix for a worktrip and stayed here for 3 days. The room was very nice and clean. Bathroom toilet seat was a weird square shape that wasn't super comfortable. The shower had a normal shower head and a ceiling one which was nice. There was a gym and a pool outside on the top the top floor but I didn't have time to check it out. The breakfast was a $20 tapas style breakfast buffet was limited food options. There were fresh cheese, deli meats, and small egg bites. It was definitely overpriced for what you get. Overall it was a good stay and very close to the ASU campus/downtown phoenix.

I had an amazing time during my most recent visit here. I've been to many hotels for business and pleasure with my partner, but the personnel at the AC Hotel by Marriott Phoenix Tempe/Downtown went above and beyond to make our particular stay one we won't soon forget. I spoke with Cedric, the manager of the front office. In order to organize an engagement proposal on the day of the reservation, I contacted this hotel in advance. Cedric was a calm, collected individual who genuinely understood my predicament. In addition to making sure I was taken care of, he offered to upgrade my accommodation as a congratulations. Being a Marriott Bonvoy member I genuinely felt appreciated. Cedric and his team made the effort to ensure that I was comfortable and satisfied with everything. They offered my newly fiancé and I some drinks and provided me with a fantastic view of the hotel room. Our expectations were fully satisfied, and our accommodation was quite cozy. It contains everything you need in the room. A safe, an iron and board, a refrigerator, and a hair dryer. They also have an indoor fitness facility and rooftop pool for visitors, although we didn't get to use them. You can park in any space in the parking garage next door for $18 per night. At the time of the visit, there were many of spots available; just be sure to leave all valuables and possessions outside for protection. All in all, if you're ever in the Tempe region, I highly recommend checking out this site. There are lots of things to see and do in the area, and staying at a hotel with happy employees only adds to the enjoyment of your trip.

    Dusty air vent

This was my first stay and last at this hotel. The employees aren't friendly, when I checked in new years eve the man who checked me in was rude and talked to me like I was dumb because I didn't hear that he requested my ID and credit card. He didn't tell me any information about the breakfast I purchased, wifi, anything he gave me my keys and told me where to park. I get to my $300 a night suite its filthy white stains on the curtains, pubic hair on my wash cloth, dirt and soap scum on the shower, food crumbs on the floor, the air vent covered in dust bunnies and no where to put my or my husband's clothes. No drawers just a micro "closet" with 4 hangers so we had to live out of our suitcases for two days. Parking was a joke, you're forced to pay for it but every time I left the tag I was given by the desk didn't work due to "an update of their system," so I had to call customer service every single time I left to let me out. I've stayed at numerous marriott hotels including Residence Inn where people actually live. Those were cleaner and in better condition then this hotel. Definitely not worth $300 a night. Especially since you can hear everything, people above you,the light rail, cars, etc. I am very disappointed,I wouldn't really recommend this place unless you don't mind everything mentioned above. I emailed Carlos who is supposedly a manager, but he couldn't be bothered to email me back.

We had stayed at a AC Hotel in NYC and had good experience. This time we picked the AC Phoenix due to the super close proximity of the starting line of the Rock N Roll Run. We literally just walk a block over! Being Marriott members we had the choice of $10/day person for food. We decided to save them for all the snacks by the front desk. They also have a microwave at the snack area which worked out perfect because we had leftovers from another meal. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. I actually had to catch up on work and no problem with the wifi or the work space area. We did have a car rental for the weekend, and I think the only con was how far the parking lot is. It's a structure across the way from the hotel. They do provide coffee in the morning and lavender pack at night at the lobby.

Clean and very organized. The hotel was extremely quiet which is good in my book! The pool was cleaned and not with a strong smell of chlorine. Staff were pleasant. Rooms were well cleaned and organized. Just a nice causal atmosphere.

We stayed here for two nights and were able to get one of the better upgrades as Platinum members. We got a corner suite with a balcony so we had a nice view of the butte across the street. When the sun was not on the balcony it was a nice place to hang out in the evening. The room itself was spacious and nicely laid out. We liked that you could walk into downtown Tempe and to many restaurants and bars. Very handy. The riverwalk just a block away. Bottom line a great location. The pool on the roof was very nice though there is not much shade. The parking was convenient in the next door garage but of course it was not cheap. The front desk crew as helpful and friendly. One minor downside was there was no laundry - guess we are not the target client for this location. Also the rooms could use better sound insulation especially being on the landing path for the nearby airport. I would stay here again.

This is a long overdue review for this amazing hotel…read more I've visited Tempe to attend the Innings Festival three times now. Each time staying at a different Marriott property: Aloft the first time, Westin the second time, and at this Residence Inn during my last visit. And I have to stay, this was probably my best stay. Location wise, this property is a couple of blocks away from the Westin. But still within walking distance to the Innings festival site. The nightly rate to stay at this property was also much lower in comparison to Westin and/or Aloft (at the time of booking). And being a Residence Inn, obviously breakfast is included in the rate. Anyway, the check in process during my stay was quick, and the staff was super friendly and hospitable. Actually, all the staff encounters I'd had during my stay were super pleasant. From offering me a bottle of water when I had purchased a pack of ibuprofen to just a simple hello and a smile as we're walking by the front desk. I don't think I've ever stayed at any Marriott property where the staff is just overall pleasant! During check in, I found out that my room had been upgraded. I had originally booked a room with two queen beds but got upgraded to a two bedrooms suite with a personal bathroom in each bedroom. The hotel room also had a little common area and a kitchenette. Awesome! The noise level at this hotel was pretty much on par with every other hotel I'd stayed in so I'm not complaining about that. I thought my bed was comfortable and I always had a good night sleep during my stay here. Breakfast foods are pretty much what you'd get at any other Residence Inn. You get your eggs, sausages, potatoes, juices, waffles, etc. And although the hotel was sold out during my stay (or so I was told), the line for breakfast never got too long. And although I didn't drive here, there's a parking garage (I think public parking garage) attached to the hotel and I believe it was only around $15/night to park there. So they weren't charging insane parking fees that hotels located in downtown anywhere typically charge. Would I stay here again in the future? Hells to the yes!

That said, this isn't a hotel I would choose again. The road noise outside is surprisingly loud. You can hear virtually every passing car, and I honestly can't remember ever making that complaint about another hotel. On Saturday night, the DJ on the 14th-floor rooftop had the bass turned up so high that our room on the 8th floor was literally thumping. I called to ask whether the music could be turned down and was told it could not, and that it would continue quite late into the evening. I then asked whether the hotel had a couple of fans we could borrow to help mask the noise. Unfortunately, they didn't though they did offer earplugs, which I appreciated. To their credit, the front desk was empathetic and relocated us to another room, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the overall noise issues were still enough that I wouldn't choose to stay here again. If you're planning to enjoy the rooftop nightlife, this may be a great fit. If you're looking for a quiet night's sleep, I'd look elsewhere.

I first want to acknowledge the parking since I know the valet cost is a an issue. I did self parking at the Brickyard Parking Garage for $16 for 24 hours which was a 3 minute walk across a side street and down a short flight of stairs. I found it super convenient and would recommend it to anyone looking to skip valet. The lobby was nice, very clean and open with high ceilings and a comfortable sitting area. Austin got me checked in quickly and hooked up with their welcome package that included two free margaritas at the rooftop bar Skysill, two free cups of coffee or tea at their coffee shop and two free smoothies from Terra their restaurant on the 1st floor. I stayed in one of their Executive Suites With Mountain View and when I say the room took my breath away, I actually gasped!! It was more than I could hope for with beautiful views overlooking Tempe and Phoenix in both the living room and bedroom, a big comfy bed, a nice sized table to get work done at and a beautiful bathroom complete with a spacious shower and luxurious soaking tub! The room also came with bathrobes, complementary water bottles in the mini fridge, wine glasses and a corkscrew. I really loved being able to relax knowing everything was thought out! The rooftop bar and pool was beautiful, again with breathtaking views. The welcome margarita was good and strong but the Hibiscus Paloma was a show stopper! I also really enjoyed the rooftop patio the next morning when I took my laptop up to enjoy the sunrise over the city while getting my work day started. My morning was a breeze, enjoying beautiful views, my complimentary tea and smoothie but the standout of my stay was Aneesa at concierge. I had a last minute schedule change for a meeting that left me stressed for time to checkout and make my meeting but Aneesa saved the day when, without hesitation, she moved my checkout time back so I could complete my Teams call in the privacy of my room and not feel rushed to leave. I only ended up needing 30 extra minutes but I can't thank her enough for giving me that extra hour! It's people like her who keep me coming back somewhere and I'm happy to say I've already recommended this hotel to a few friends and work colleagues. A couple places I feel the hotel may have room for improvement on is stocking additional amenities for the bath like epsom salts or bubble bath and the windows of my room could have been cleaner but those little things really didn't bother me much at all. Honestly, I just walked across the street to the 24hr CVS and bought some bubble bath after my drinks and enjoyed a nice relaxing soak, it was perfect! I've definitely found my new go to hotel in Tempe! Thank you Westin Tempe and Team for taking care of me and again, thank you Aneesa, you're a true MVP!

We had the opportunity to attend Sunset & Sparks at Vīb Hotel Tempe, where guests enjoyed an evening filled with rooftop views, a buffet dinner, complimentary cocktails, lawn games, live music, a photo booth, and of course, fireworks to end the night. As much as we love our usual Independence Day traditions, this was a refreshing change of pace. Instead of rushing around, we were able to slow down, take in an incredible Arizona sunset, enjoy some good food, listen to live music, and simply spend quality time together. The buffet featured grilled chicken, burgers with all the fixings, creamy potato salad, coleslaw, fresh toppings, patriotic desserts, and plenty of drinks to keep everyone cool throughout the evening. Sometimes it's not about doing the biggest celebration--it's about finding the right atmosphere to relax and enjoy the holiday. This rooftop event delivered exactly that. The elevators are another concern. They make loud noises and honestly sound like they could break at any moment. There is also an unpleasant smell in parts of the building. When you get off the elevator and walk toward the lobby, you can see construction going on, which only adds to the messy and rundown feeling of the property. This place used to be a great stay when we first came here, but now it's honestly pretty shameful to see how much it has deteriorated. Other equipment like weights a bit limited. They allow pets and one day we had to deal with a barking dog somewhere morning and night. We complained twice and the hotel staff could only say they tried and that people are not supposed to leave their pets unattended. We were staying one night in Phoenix before our flight and decided to book through our Hilton Honors account at a DoubleTree. The location we originally wanted was full, so we chose the Tempe property instead. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. The woman at the front desk was very standoffish. When we asked about room rates, she quoted a much higher price than our Hilton Honors rate, so we decided to book online while standing in the lobby. When we went back to check in, she told us we had to wait. I also asked for one of the famous cookies, and she said they "weren't ready." She offered no welcome, no information about the hotel, and didn't ask any questions. If you're the face of a hotel, a warm and friendly attitude makes all the difference. Once we got to our room, things didn't improve. The property itself feels very old and outdated. The carpet was torn right at the entrance with sharp pieces sticking out, the AC was loud and squeaky, the headboard wasn't attached to the wall, and we heard a strange tapping sound all night long. We decided to give the property another chance by trying the on-site restaurant, Milagros. Unfortunately, both meals, the ribeye and fajitas the ribeye was raw (and made my husband sick later) and the steak on the fajitas were super tough and both were disappointing. The steaks were poorly cooked and lacked flavor. The one bright spot of the evening was Pedro, who apologized sincerely and provided 50% off my fajitas. His customer service was excellent and truly appreciated. Overall, this hotel does not reflect the quality or hospitality I've come to associate with DoubleTree. It's old, outdated, and lacks the warmth and care that usually make this brand so dependable. I truly hope management takes steps to refresh both the property and the guest experience.

The first impression was warm and inviting: the decor has a cozy, Native American-inspired vibe, complete with a little fire pit area that added to the charm. At check-in, we were warmly greeted by the friendly front desk staff, who made the check-in process smooth and of course offered us the Signature Doubletree cookie. The hotel's layout blends indoor and outdoor spaces, so after checking in, we had to walk outside to reach our room. While the room felt a bit dim, outdated, and slightly worn, it was decently clean and worked just fine for a short overnight stay. One of the biggest perks of this hotel is its proximity to the airport--super convenient for layovers or early flights. They also offer a shuttle service, and the drivers were cheerful and friendly, which made the travel experience very enjoyable. If you're looking for a quick and comfortable stop near the airport with friendly staff and a unique ambiance, this hotel is a solid choice.
