Was planning to visit the area and booked this hotel due to it's location last minute. I did have some minor issues with the front desk at check in due to miscommunication, we had a party of 4 with separate rooms and had requested to have connecting rooms, over the phone I was told there was no connecting rooms on the property but come to find out there actually was lol. We also were also told by the front desk agent we were overpaying for our stay? I think she was a fairly newer employee. Overall despite my hit or miss interactions with reception, it did not ruin the experience. We we're still accommodated an early check in and neighboring rooms. Amenities wise, there's a pool (no hot tub) and nice gym. The lobby has fresh popcorn, tons of board games and a full pool table and bar. The bartender was friendly, we enjoyed some drinks then played pool and board games for a bit before we went out to explore the area. The rooms we're spacious, fairly modern and clean. I am very particular when it comes to cleanliness and Aloft exceeded in this area. The 12pm check out was perfect, we only stayed one night but I would definitely consider stay again if I'm ever in the area again. Overall 8/10. Solid pick for a no frills, enjoyable short stay. The area felt safe and close to restuarants, bars and stores. read more

It was over $300 per night. The room was disappointing. It was old, smelled bad, and did not feel clean. The property looks like it needs better maintenance. The bar and food were not good. The bartender did not know how to make an Old Fashioned. The chicken fingers were very dry. The gym was small and not clean. Some equipment was broken. There were no cleaning wipes or sanitizer available. The front desk did not handle the billing issue well. I had to spend lots of my own time dealing with their mistake. This hotel does not represent the Marriott brand well. I would not recommend staying here, choose another hotel. read more

Very nice hotel! I appreciate the later checkout of noon! Some hotels have a check out as early as 9a! They also have the bathroom locked it. Lots of good light and a great shower head with great water pressure. The bed was extremely comfortable! We were on the ground floor and I was a bit worried about noise, but it was perfectly fine. This is my third or fourth time staying at this hotel. Overall, it's a nice place with spacious rooms, and I really enjoy the games available in the lobby. The staff is friendly and accommodating, especially when it comes to early check-ins, which I appreciate. However, the walls are quite thin--you can hear noise from neighboring rooms and from upstairs, which can be disruptive. Check-in is at 3 PM and checkout is at 12 PM. One recurring issue during my last two stays is that housekeeping knocks on the door around 10 AM and seems surprised to find guests still inside. They even ask what time you plan to leave, which feels a bit early considering checkout isn't until noon. Overall, this particular stay was the least enjoyable out of all my visits. While the hotel does have some good qualities, I'm uncertain if I'll be coming back. read more

Nice stay in a good location. I arrived on a busy weekend at 7:00PM. Apparently many concerts were going on so the hotel was pretty booked! It's a good thing that I was able to book days in advance. The check-in process was very easy and got my room on the 2nd level king-sized bed. This Aloft I would say is bigger compared to the other Aloft(s) around the area. My room seemed to have been an ADA room since the bathroom was pretty big and wheelchair/accessible friendly. Not sure if this was how all the rooms are but it did make showering a bit messier than I hoped. It has the typical bar, restaurant, and lounge area. Lots of room to hang around and relax with others. If my room wasn't connecting to another on top of the ADA shower I would have enjoyed my stay much better. Plus side is free parking just like all the other Aloft hotels in the area. Still a great stay nonetheless especially for price. read more

O.k. hotel, good location. Was fraudulently charged after checkout for a pet fee. We did not have a pet. We never signed a pet form, and at check out was told we had a zero balance. We even hung out and watched the 49er game for an hour or so at check in. This feels SCAMMY. Check your bill! read more

Marriott why? I had to go to work for an event. I think we all know how awful traffic is around these parts so I had to spend the night in a hotel. Check in was whatever. It wasn't professional or polite yet it wasn't blatantly rude, it was whatever. The room itself was ...so the bathroom was nice if you ignored the rust colored stains on the fabric wallpaper. Don't mind the mold in the shower. Pretend you don't see the leaky stain on the ceiling. Definitely don't pay attention to the door with a gap away from the ground that is so high you can feel the breeze on your feet and hear everything in the hallway. The towels are thin, hard - and not enough for the 2 people I paid for (me and my husband). I called the front desk about the shower cap covering the smoke detector and was told I could either get ona chair and remove it or she'll send someone with a ladder to. Like I said not polite or professional but not blatantly rude. I didn't think that was the appropriate response so I just said bye and hung up. I swear I am working on speaking up when people are like that. Anyway - all of that plus the plastic laminate floor that looks like wood but it isn't was pretty much oh no wait- the bed was bad and the pillows were thin. This is the problem working in Silicon Valley. The rare times I go on campus I stay in a hotel to avoid traffic so I can be fresh for work the next morning, The stay wasn't cheap but the experience was. read more

This is a very clean property. Rooms are excellent. Beds are very comfortable as well as pillows. The wall decor is weird with the string lights tho.. looks like it was an afterthought of lights they got at IKEA and threw on wall above beds. the outlet situation was weird for charging anything. Drybar products in room which was nice. At least they smelled good. I would recommend becoming a member to enjoy the welcome water and treat! my BIGGEST complaint is the EV charging. we stayed 4 nights and I didn't get to use it once overnite for a full charge. It's RIDICULOUS they only have 2 chargers for guests. And they aren't fast. each nite had to park way in the back. My suggestion is to move chargers near pool and have a minimum of 4-6 with your guests. This is a busy hotel and lots of EV's in this area. Bar had a nice selection and our bartender was awesome! not a lot of vegetarian options if your hungry:( which also surprised me being in this area. read more

Aloft was fine for a short business trip. Friendly staff, good amenities, and comfortable rooms. There were some lumps along the way - being told they can accommodate early check in on the app, only to find I couldn't get into my room until 4pm local time was disappointing. And while the furniture was decent, the room felt like it had seen better days. There was a crack on the shower floor that looked like a recipe for water damage. The fitness center was pretty good overall, with cardio equipment, a cable machine, and dumbbells up to 50 lbs. And the pool looked okay (it was too cold during my trip to actually use). For business needs, the Wi-Fi was good, and there are conference rooms available, but even the lobby had good spaces for solo or small group work. Overall a good midlevel hotel option for the area, nothing egregiously bad about the stay. read more

It came burnt with no cheese and a bunch of onions. Whatever, what can you really expect I guess). Oh. And there was no milk or cream for the coffee served in the morning. Stayed here recently for a quick night while in the local area for training. I've stayed in a bunch of ALofts before, but this one was a touch different. Lobby and check in were fine. Quick and painless even, and to my delight was given a first floor room overlooking the pool. Although the room was clean and large, it was overwhelmingly underwhelming. see what i did there? There was a king bed, a desk, and a small chair. And just tons of wasted empty space. The place is begging for a sofa or something. Or even furnish it so it becomes like a small little studio then you can charge extra. But really, it makes no sense to have this much empty. Also, the TV, while large is horrendous. The UI sucks. There's no interactive guide, so you have to go old school and watch the scrolling TV guide while you remember which ones are cool to watch. Bath is nice and modern. The rain shower gives you a nice deluge, but it's so powerful it leaks all over the place when youre done. One more thing. Never cared for wood/vinyl floors in hotels. It gives you an even more empty feeling with the acoustics. Maybe an area rug? read more

Stayed over the weekend for a concert nearby with my family. Bartender on Saturday was amazing and personable , poor guy had to deal with tons of intoxicated people at the pool with their own alcohol and such. One intoxicated lady began cursing at him and she was clearly drunk bringing her own alcohol to a bar when there were signs posted about no outside alcohol, bartender maintained his composure all while being verbally insulted in front of my wife and kids and the intoxicated lady using profanity toward that staff member. read more

Long way to drive from Nevada to Oregon then to the bay, Aloft has been a very easy and this area seems to be cheaper maybe because of location. You can miss this spot easily if you so not drive slowly so becareful the entry is not that wide. The amenities they have a pool in front for guess only and breakfast for all guess. As of this time 08-01-2021 let the front desk know if you want to clean your room because they cannot accommodate daily cleaning due to staffing (covid-19). Staffing are very nice and helpful including the housekeeping. Thank you for all your work and everyone else in this Facility. read more

Friendly staff. Several of them greeted us with smiles when we were in and out the hotel, very nice and welcoming. The room was clean and simple. The outlet was not working in bathroom but I was able to plug in the hair dryer from the outlet near one of the night stands. The room was fairly quiet though I could hear neighbor taking shower. Breakfast buffet was basic. Our room rate included the buffet otherwise it's not worth the 24.99 + fees. Better get something from downtown MV. 2 charging stations worked well. Luckily we were able to plug in both days. Good central location. Will stay here again when the rate is reasonable:) read more

I will NEVER step foot in this hotel ever again. I stayed 3 nights and the people at the front desk are not friendly and neither are the restaurant workers. My daughter and I went down for breakfast and the person working the restaurant asked me for payment. I frequently stay at hotels so I let him know he could charge our room. He responded with I need your hotel card. I called my husband because he's the one who booked this spot and asked if the hotel issued a card for the breakfast. He came down to ask the hotel front desk and they said they have nothing to do with the restaurant area and in a condescending tone she said, "you are not an elite gold member so you need to pay". Ouch ok, so my husband goes up to the restaurant to ask to charge our card. The guy says really loudly that my husbands card won't work. By this time the entire lobby and everyone sitting in the restaurant is staring. They've made a scene like we are unable to pay. My husband tells the guy to run the card and of course is goes through and the guy says oh ok. After this entire fiasco my husband let the manager - Amelia Hernandez know and she said she would look into it. Today he received the most generic email saying Amelia would talk to her team and thanked him for letting her know. After reading another review on here I'm even more disheartened to find out that breakfast vouchers are provided for guests. NO ACCOUNTABILITY!! I'll be writing to corporate. read more

Sometimes, one behavior can ruin what would otherwise have been a decent review. This hotel is actually a decent one; located right in between Sunnyvale and Mountain View. Right off a major highway, close to San Jose and only a 30-min ride from SFO. The rooms are spacious, clean, updated, decorated in a minimalist way, the bathrooms updated. However...when I needed a small amount of attentiveness, just basic customer service, the hotel failed me as a customer. I ordered pizza to be delivered straight to my room. I estimated about 45' or so from the time I placed the order. At around the 40' mark, I started checking outside my room every 5' or so (I had given instructions to just leave it outside the door). 50' go by, nothing. 1 hour, nothing. 1 hour and 10', still nothing. At the 1 hour and 20' mark, I call the pizza store to find out; no answer. Then, I call the hotel's reception desk to see if a pizza was delivered and...surprise surprise; the receptionist told me "oh yeah, it was delivered some time ago"! I asked her "there is no indication about a room number? I had asked the pizza store to deliver to my room". She replied "no, he just dropped it off and left". So, I go downstairs, expecting my meal to be cold (which it was) and when I saw the pizza box sitting right next to her, I saw that on top of the box someone had written with a sharpie (and in big letters/numbers) the word "Room" and then the number. I asked the receptionist "the room number is written on top of the box, didn't you feel that it would be appropriate to call the room and let me know? The pizza is now cold"....her answer "there is a microwave oven around the corner"!!! Absolutely unacceptable answer, attitude and also shows lack of training in basic customer skills. I was planning on using this hotel for my future business visits to the area but I will be staying elsewhere. read more

Stayed here for my birthday weekend and still was not disappointed. Have stayed at the one in Sunnyvale and this location was exactly the same. Room was clean and staff was friendly. Aloft MV from the outside is definitely one of the nicer looking hotels in the area. The rates were also pretty good compared to others as well. There were a few odd things about my stay. The first was that on the first night, the fire alarm went off at 7:30am for the whole floor at least. There were no warnings of testing or explanation for why the alarm went off other than the look of confusion by others staying on the floor. Everything looks nice and contemporary which was the reason why I booked the room. However, I feel as if the hotel was remodeled as there was still the giant AC block instead of forced air from the room fans, both of which are not an issue but sticks out when compared to the look of the rest of the room. Additionally, the floor isn't flat. There's areas where its uneven and you can definitely feel it as you're walking around. The bed was classified as a king but as an owner of a king bed, the space seemed more like a queen. Lastly, the bathroom sink was loose and easy to be jiggled and the bathroom fan was dirty and dusty. Overall, the room was just okay. Regarding the service - it was a hit or miss. Some employees were friendly while others were cold and indifferent. I did like how there were two free level 2 EV chargers in front of the hotel. As of early July, you still need to wear a mask when going through common areas of the building. The front sliding doors of the hotel close at 11pm so you have to use the side door with your key card to enter. Regarding housekeeping, there is none due to their COVID protocols. However, if you need something, you can call front desk. read more

The staff was great but the rest was just sad. No housekeeping if you're only staying for two nights, which I get, but I shouldn't have to be asking for water and coffee pods every day. Messaging system takes hours for someone to respond and when they do, you still don't get what you asked for. I had to go the lobby for water and coffee pods. Marriott should get onboard with the Flow stations which are eco friendly and more convenient for guests. If you're not gonna service the rooms for two night stays, leave enough coffee pods and water for the entire stay. Simple as that. Love the wood floors for less dust and shower was excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food at the bar was terrible. Rooms are not soundproof. Only chose this location for the American Airlines extra miles, but I doubt I would stay there again. Paid too much for too little. read more

Looks like they gave a new life to an older hotel, for the most part successfully. The older AC units are noisy and not great and keeping a constant temperature, hence the 4 stars. The hotel was pretty busy the weekend that I stayed, and the lobby area is spacious with a nice terrace and fire pit too. read more

May 2023 - 5/26/2023 4:00 pm Oh my, took over 30 minutes to check in. The line was all the way to the entrance. I think there may have been some type of event going on. What compounded the problem was only one of the computers was working. So one guy was trying to check in all the guests while the other person was handing out free breakfast coupons to everyone. That guy was awesome, kept his cool and was very personable yet efficient. When was out turn, they ran out of the free breakfast coupons ( me being me...was a little perturbed) and told us to ask for it in the morning. Next morning we go down and hubby asks for the breakfast coupon, and he tries to tell her that he an elite so he is entitled to free breakfast. She doesn't bother to look him up and have us the generic coupon. So bottom line instead of $20 per person we were only allowed $10 per person. It is okay, it just meant we had to get more food from elsewhere. But the person who took our order was great, he made sure we ordered as much as the comp allowed!! Kudos to him!!! read more

This is not a high end property. It's a budget hotel so set your expectations. Now....once you have those expectations, which is what mine were being $100 a night over Labor Day weekend...I was really pleased with the rooms, the common areas with bar and games including pool. I've been meaning to leave a review since our stay but was busy! I have time today though! My friends and I stayed there the night of the Janet Jackson concert 6/16. Everything was fine until we came back to the room the night of the concert and couldn't get into our rooms! Come to find out the door batteries ran out and so we were locked out. The staff had to pry open the doors for us which led us to waiting over 45 mins to get back into the rooms. I reached out to management, never got a call back even after the front desk rep stated they would compensate us for the inconvenience. Staff was friendly but overall customer service from management was terrible! So if you stay make sure your room doors work before you leave anywhere so you are not waiting! - the one star is for the staff! read more

This hotel is beautiful and conveniently located. However, they need to train their front desk staff better. When we checked in, as part of our reservation, I was informed by the rude young woman with brunette long hair in a ponytail that we were supposed to receive meal vouchers for breakfast for the three days we are here. We did not. A young man who checked us in didn't give them to me, and I didn't know I had to ask about it because I've not stayed here before. When I went down in the morning, the rude front desk young woman I mention above (she wasn't wearing an ID tag so I can't specify who she is) couldn't confirm my reservation and asked me to return to the room to get proof I had reserved it. This is not any way to treat a guest! It is rude and disrespectful. To make matters worse, she complained she "had a lot to do" and didn't have time to deal with my complaint. She asked me to come back to speak to the supervisor when he came in at 11 a.m. and then passively-aggressively wished me a "great day." I informed her that I also have a lot to do, as I was here to take my son to Stanford Children's Hospital, but that I would most definitely be speaking with her supervisor and asked what time he would be there. I was unable to connect with him during our stay, and I found this frustrating. A simple apology in her part for inconveniencing and embarrassing a guest, who has spent over $880 for a three-day stay, in front of other guests, would have been sufficient. Instead I am left with bad feelings about this hotel, although all the other staff were great. The kitchen staff were particularly helpful and said that the front desk staff person is normally "nice, so perhaps she was having a bad day?" In any case, better training for front desk staff is needed, as that is the first impression guests have of the hotel. I do not want to stay here after this, and I will be letting my friends and family know not to stay here in the future. read more

We stayed for 5 nights traveling from Boston. We checked in and were given the keys to our first room. This was on the first floor and the best of all the rooms we were eventually relocated to. We got partially settled and when my son went to use the bathroom he noticed the lock on the barn sliding doors was hanging on by the top screw. The bottom screw was not screwed in but dangling. No biggie I figured when we went to dinner we would report it and the maintenance could repair. I was the second to use the bathroom and noticed the toiled did not flush. I lifted the back cover and pulled the bulb inside the "guts" of the toilet figuring it may be stuck and it filled with water and flushed properly. The next time we tried to flush same thing. I reported both to the front and they told me they could move me. I said that was not necessary they could just fix it but it seemed more convenient for them to move us so reluctantly I packed all of our stuff and we moved on to room 2 now on the 4th floor. Room 2 had bathroom barn doors completely off their track, so once again I called downstairs and they not only moved us but were going to upgrade us to a suite. We moved to the room and they must have forgot I was traveling with two teenage children so the one bed suite would not be enough. They said my son could sleep on the couch but for 5 days I wanted everyone comfortable. Off to room 4 we went.... This was the worst room of all and the one we wound up staying in. The bathroom doors and lock worked but the sink would not drain unless we pulled the plunger up each time we used it. The knob that was supposed to keep it up to drain was missing. That was tolerable so we went to dinner and came back to crash. The next morning when we went to take a shower my daughter called for me because the shower basin was draining out on to the bathroom floor and all the way out of the bathroom into the hall. We used all of the towles to sop it up and when she was done I went to investigate. I noticed the basin had rot on the back end as well as the wooden trim for the bathroom. The basin was also disgustingly filthy. I was DONE... I called downstairs and they said they would make a note and send someone while we were out for the day. When we returned no one had been up, it was late and we were exhausted. She gave me rags and some spray that was in an unmarked bottle and said I could clean the tub and bathroom myself. I did so and we made this room work the rest of our stay. Two nights before we left at 12:30 am the guests in the room next to ours decided to play extremely loud music with booming base. It woke me and my kids up. I turned on the AC so we could drown some out and we tried going back to bed. Around 7:30 am it was super loud again. I didn't even bother calling until the next day when they did it again. After I called the guests decided it would be funny to turn the music up louder instead of down. This was such an awful experience. I am not sure if the hotel is in transition but things were falling apart. It's too bad because the location is perfect. DO NOT STAY in this hotel unless you want to be miserable. read more

The rooms are neat and clean and housekeeping is fast and efficient when a request is made. Five stars to them. Front desk personnel is professional when you engage them. The food only gets 2 stars, as no one was available the first day and we had to get someone from the kitchen to come out for our order (we paid to include breakfast with the room). The food took a long time and was not hot. Same experience the second day, wish we had the time to eat elsewhere. I guess we're spoiled by other hotels that include delicious foods and fruit with the room cost. We ordered dinner at the hotel as weather kept us in and the menu quinoa kale salad ended up a green salad and we had to ask for salad dressing. The half price wine night ended up costing more than expected, disappointing. The room at the hotel was nice, but I would eat elsewhere. read more

The rooms were decent and clean BUT... We checked into two rooms at about 5 pm and left our bags, then headed out to a concert. When we returned a few hours later, one room key wouldn't work. The front desk fixed the key to get into the room where we left our bags (which matched the number on the envelope that was given at check-in). Our items were rummaged through, and many were stolen, including credit cards and personal items. The toilet seat was lifted, and there was a second paper key holder envelope lying on the bed that didn't belong to us. A police report was filed. The evening auditor tried to help by calling the front desk staff who worked earlier, but they couldn't do anything. We were told a manager wouldn't come on duty until 10 am the next day. We followed up with the front desk staff the next morning; found out that the manager wasn't coming in. After we requested again, the manager came in but claimed that none of her staff informed her of the situation but was willing to help to look into the case. She said she would check the keys log, look at videos, etc. She also promised that she would not charge us for the room. But none of her promises come true. We called to follow up 2 weeks later, and she hasn't done anything. We didn't get the refunds she promised or any explanation of what had happened. read more

First and last Aloft experience. I was expecting a cool, relatively upscale Marriott property, ala AC Hotel by Marriott, but disappointed. Their catch phrase (on my room key) is "Unexpected Happens Here". That is true. No phone in my room. No iron or ironing board. (First time with a steamer...interesting) No mini fridge. No Netflix or internet TV availability on big beautiful flat screen like most of the Marriott properties I stay in. Their idea of taking care of Titanium Elite guest is to give them room furthest away from the elevator?? All unexpected. Good news, bed was nice. 1/2 of the front desk staff was very friendly. Free parking. Clean. But still, one and done. read more
