I brought my car into Valvoline at 3930 W State St Boise, Idaho for an oil change. On my last…read morevisit, it was suggested that I get a manual transmission service performed, so at this visit, I paid for the transmission service along with the oil change. 35 miles later as I was pulling into my parking spot at work the transmission completely seized up due to the lack of oil.  It was later found by a local mechanic, that the drain plug was not properly tightened as well as the crush washer not having been replaced on the transmission. While Valvoline did take responsibility for the transmission and cover the labor, they left me to pay for the clutch and flywheel. They told me the mechanic said it was normal wear and tear. When I talked to the mechanic later, he said that was never said and that it was damaged from the transmission seizing. Valvoline lied to me to get me to agree to their terms so they wouldn't have to pay for the parts. When I confronted them with this information they still refused to pay for the parts even though they knew they had gotten me to agree under false pretenses as well as only verbally, they still refused to pay. In short a $99.99 service is now costing me $700 and I was without a car for just under 2 weeks. Don't go here unless it's an emergency, last and only resort. You might only make it 35 miles before you're car is toast. Thank goodness the oil change was fine otherwise they probably would've gave me a bare block and said the rest was normal wear and tear nevermind the absence of oil.

Harper, who was tasked to do my oil change went straight to work! He was communicating with Aidan the whole time with what he was doing and what needed to be done. I appreciate the type of communication they have so there is no misunderstandings. Aidan suggested a couple things for my car such as an air filter and system cleaner. I did go for the filter cause it needed it but I declined the system cleaner. No pressure what so ever about the system cleaner! I like that!
