Good guys. I noticed the smell of gas coming from my suv. I pulled in and asked if they could check it out...they got me right in and discovered that the person that I had put on the new fuel filter had installed it backwards and the fuel lines were loose and leaking. They fixed the problem for me and sent me on my way. I really appreciated their help. I'll continue to use them for my oil changes etc. jg read more

Shout out to Clay at Pronto!!! I am one of those people who has been burned by a few Auto Mechanics in my lifetime. You know, the estimates for things you do not need, the elevated pricing, time waited and the lack of integrity. I think we have all been there. Clay at Pronto has restored my faith and trust in this industry. From the beginning of our interactions, Clay has been honest and knowledgeable and super timely. My daughter took her van to them. It had mis fire. Almost 4,000 dollars later she had to junk it. They had no clue what was wrong. We are getting a lawyer. Do not go here. I used this mechanic for 20 years until this happened. read more

I wish more people came here to write reviews. The Team put in a new clutch and that was great! Here come the bad things: They never called me to pick up the car when it was done. I just showed up and- it was ready. That was a little irritating. Then when I started the car, it sounded COMPLETELY different. When I pointed it out to Clay he said it was bcz I had bad motor mounts. OK, but still my car did not sound like this when I dropped it off. I then took my car to my regular place (Mike's Boise Clutch and Automotive, they get 10 starts), they test drove it and said the transmission mount needs replace. They also said they would have replaced the transmission mount if I had my clutch done with them. Originally the wait was too long and I didn't want to drive around with my clutch slipping, so I took it to Pronto. When I went back to Pronto to ask them to replace it, since Mike said that's what he would do -Clay said, " I'll replace it but it's not right". Meaning - me asking him to fix it to what the car sounded like before I brought it in, was not right. I could not believe my ears. Mike's said they would do my clutch for between $800-1200.00 - Pronto charged me $1601.50....AND I've made an appmnt with Mike's to PAY for my transmission mount to be replace, so my car can sound the same as before Pronto put in my clutch....Last, My speaker is hooked to my motor and THAT doesn't sound the same either - I never even brought that up, because why would I...?? This is the second time I came to Pronto for my car. The first time, my car died and after getting told by one mechanic that my alternator needed to be replaced, I was stressed because I don't have that type of money. After being recommended by a friend to Pronto, I got my car there, and they checked everything out. I only needed a new serpentine belt, not an alternator! The second time, my check engine light came on. I went to O'Reilly's (where they do and advertise free diagnostic scan) to see what the problem was. I did a few things on my own, and to no avail, brought my car to Pronto. I called the night before, dropped my car off at 8, and had my car back by 4pm. He was able to find the exact problem, replace it, and double checked a few other things to make sure it was good. Considering the labor and time it took to troubleshoot my car, I'm very happy with the price I paid! read more

I took my truck in to have two things fixed. They ended up fixing three things and came in under budget. This is a great place.

TLDR - These guys are a joke. My car wasn't starting, and a guy named Clay told me to bring it in first thing the next morning, which I did. I didn't hear from them all day and waited til 4p to call and see what was up. Well they hadn't gotten to my car yet, and Clay said they were going to check it out in a minute and he would call me back. He never called me back, and didn't the next morning either. I called around 11a the next day (not trying to be a nuisance...), and he said the car started up fine, and they were able to drive it and didn't see any issue. They asked if cold weather or something else may bring out the issue, and I told them yes to try it in the morning when its cold. So after leaving my car another night, and not hearing from them again the next morning, I called around 11a again and they had yet to try starting it again, because according to Clay "customers were there first thing in the morning needing oil changes" ... So apparently he didn't have a quick minute to try starting my car that morning because they had to prioritize people showing up and needing oil changes, when that was the 3rd day of my car being there.. sorry, not waiting yet another day to hope you make me a priority over customers showing up for oil changes. read more

The guy came out and told me my alternator was dead and done. It was going to cost me 600 dollars to replace. I had Boise clutch check it out and they said everything was running fine I just need to top of my car battery on a charger. I guess this is the way these guys like to do business. read more

Do you know how many years it takes for a female to find a mechanic she can trust? Well, I have!! And I've recommended his shop (now called Complete Auto Care) to many many people. I've known Clay for years, and his right hand man, Sheldon -- both are courteous, honest, experienced, and knowledgeable. These are my most trusted mechanics there. I'd been traveling for many years and I could call Clay from anywhere about a car problem I'm experiencing and go through the checks and "rule-outs" over the phone and get advised. Although his shop business has really grown, and they're very busy, Clay will take the time to show me details and teach me in very understandable language. This is a VERY HONEST AND RESPECTABLE BUSINESS. I continue to recommend him. read more

Was visiting a friend in Boise and was due for an oil change so stopped by before heading back to California. Excellent, fast service. Pronto used to be better, my fiancee took her car there and they replaced the distributor, but then it still had problems. the plugs and wires now need to be replaced. I would think that if your replacing the distributor you also examine the plugs and wires to determine that the distributor is the only problem. and to top all this off they charge a diagnostic fee of nearly one hundred dollars! read more

I had a problem that was very difficult to diagnose. I had taken my vehicle to 4 other shops and gotten four different "answers" to what they "thought" the problem was. I even went to a dealer who sold my specific vehicle. No one would guarantee that the proposed work they wanted to do would fix the problem. Someone recommended Pronto as having employees that were highly trained in diagnostic work. I was told that Pronto would charge me $95 per hour to diagnose the cause of the problem but they promised that they would find the real problem. Yes, the cost does seem high but by the time I went to Pronto I had become very frustrated with the time it took to get no real answer at all of the other places, so I agreed to the cost of the diagnostic fee. Pronto did find the problem and it cost considerably less that the dealer that I had gone to. Thank you Pronto. read more

upon picking car up from diagnosis, was charged $66? it would have served them well to inform their customers that there is a charge to look at the car. if i had been informed i would have said no thank you. i was recommended to this auto place and ended up getting robbed. truly awful service. criminal! read more

We've had the opposite experience. Have 3 older cars that needed varying degres of maintenance and repair. Clay has always treated us well and charged fairly over the last 12 years. The only time we go elsewhere is when he tells us to because he doesn't do that kind of work. read more
