Still one of my favorite Visalia eats. Prices went up with inflation of course but still worth going to. My go to is the Aloha bbq mix.

Unbelievable lack of customer service. We placed a large group order for a medical practice group. A dish was left out and drinks were not filled. When called, they agreed to fill the remaining order; however, upon our employees return they refused to fill the dish that was left out. They insisted it was originally in the bag. There were 7 medical professionals who confirmed it was missing, but they still refused to honor the order we paid for on line. No aloha spirit! Keep the dish, lose a customer. read more

So we just ordered a huge amount of food today. They missed one plate and it was for a farewell for a coworker. Sad to say that they did not give our plate and demanded we take the entire order back to prove it was missing. Smh half the crew already ate their food as we work in the medical field and only get a 30 minute lunch. This was on top of the restaurant forgetting to give our drinks. We came here maybe a month ago. It was pouring rain, we had just finished working out and were hungry. Too late to cook but we needed to eat something. Let's check out that Hawaiian place! I'm a little homesick. Coming from San Diego, where we have a lot of Hawaiian/Pacific Islander places to eat, I was fiending for something that reminded me of home. I got the BBQ Chicken, hubby got the Aloha BBQ mix and my daughter got the Katsu Chicken. The meals were filling and the prices were good. I was impressed by their Mac salad which was legit. Overall, It's not like L&L, Chamorro Grill or Guahan Grill but I am satisfied that we at least have this place in Visalia where there are NO other Pacific Islander restaurants available--which makes me sad so this place helps fill the void. The restaurant looked a little touristy which I can imagine is for the people that aren't used to the islander vibe but it's still cute. The music was also Hawaiian touristy, as well. It would have been nice if they could at least stream Island 98.5 for better Hawaiian reggae. We plan to come back for the boba. : ) read more

the staff is super inviting and a great time to be at. they are always doing events and have local bands come into play. the atmosphere is vibrat with new specials in rotation. the owner is very friendly and cares a lot about everyone who walks into the store. read more

Chicken katsu was to die for! The sauce it comes with is okay, but I asked for teriyaki sauce instead and it was AMAZING! The chicken was cooked to perfection and the breading was very light and crispy. I enjoyed every bite. The pasta salad was also very tasty with lots of flavor. I've come to Aloha Express multiple times and ordered the chicken combo plate, but today there was an item missing on the plate. Before I can let them know they forget the chicken on my plate the cook came out to my car informing me that they forget to put the rest of the chicken on my plate. They quickly fixed the issue and even gave me and my boyfriend a free boba. Love this place. P.s. the chicken they forgot is on a different plate that's not pictured. read more

I really wanted to love this place. I went with my son and my father. My dad's food was extremely overcooked. All of our rice was hard and just tasted off. Even my son did not like it and he always trys to find the good in every place we go out to eat. The drinks were the best thing we had. I've given this place a couple of months to see if there has been consistency in service and food. Unfortunately, there wasn't. Staff was friendly but service was slow; I had to wait 45 minutes for my boba tea. Food was good but there are days when the food is mediocre and when it's not. Some items are usually sold out and I would have to call the store to see if they have them in stock. Staff would seem a little distracted at times. Overall, the place looks clean and food/drinks can be great. Just not all the time. I hope they come up from it soon but I don't think I'll come back anytime soon. read more

Not good. Got a chicken Katsu mini meal. The rice and Mac salad were fine if you like imitation crab. The chicken was grey in color and over cooked, couldn't eat it. Would not return. I came at the beginning of the lunch service it was not busy at the time. read more

Having lived in Hawaii for 10 years, I crave and miss the mixed plate lunches. So it's nice to have a Hawaiian bbq place back in Visalia again. I remember there was one many many years ago and in the exact location but it had closed down. Hopefully this one will stay put. Atmosphere and staff: Seats were comfortable. Decor is bright and festive. Staff is friendly with their "alohas" and "mahalos". Food: We ordered the Aloha Bbq Mix and the Chicken Combo. Took quite a bit to make and I even had to go up to the register and ask an employee how long more it would be. She was nice enough to check. When we finally got our food though, I would say it was worth it! Good portion size for what you pay for and all of it tasted pretty good! It's comparable to L&L Hawaiian Bbq if you've ever been there. The chicken bbq and chicken katsu (and the katsu sauce) were good. Kalbi ribs could use more flavor but still pretty good. Mac salad was delicious (I feel like that's what makes the plate lunches). I am yet to try other things on the menu such as the sushi burrito, loco moco (not on the menu but it was on the special the day I went), spam musubi, etc. Oh and they have tons of drink options if you are into boba and stuff. Overall, great food and it filled us up pretty good! I would have given it 5 stars but I felt like the wait was longer then I expected. Review is mainly for the boba milk tea. It needs to be consistent! Some days it's really good, milk tea is sweet, and the boba pearls are sweet with a soft, chewy texture, and some days the milk tea and the pearls are bland. Please be consistent! Other than that, the price point is good! As far as the food goes, I've only tried the chicken katsu. It would be nice if they packaged the katsu sauce with the order. Both times I didn't get any sauce with my food. The first time I dined in, and didn't see any sauce, so I assumed they didn't give you any with the katsu. Hopefully that has changed read more

I had my reservations about a Hawaiian spot in Visalia, but i decided to give it a try anyways. The people working were some of the most respectful and energetic people I have ever met at a restaurant. I tried the BBQ mix which was good, but a lot of food so i did not finish that. Their spam musubi was very good, and they even had it fried as well which gave the spam an extra crunch. The stand outs were the Aloha Fries and the Pineapple Smoothie the Aloha Fries were fries with nacho cheese and bbq beef on top. Too good. The Pineapple smooth was amazing. I asked the girl taking my order to add boba and was not disappointed with the taste one bit. The presentation of the drink is something else and i can see this being an instagram/foodie picture drink all around the 559. What a great treat!! Decided to come here after seeing the restaurant a million times and walking by, really happy I did. Located next to a Nail Salon and Javies tacos, you can't miss this spot! I ordered the shrimp special that comes with a side order of rice and macaroni salad....sooooo good!! The shrimp to me had a certain kind of tang to them, so no extra sauce needed to be added..although I must say the siracha sauce did give it a good luck, but I preferred it separate. My food wait was maybe 15 min max, and they bring you the food, so no need to walk up. Customer service here is Top Notch, you are greeted right when you walk in, checked on when your eating and they make sure you like the food!! Its the grand/soft opening of this place so they were giving away certain free drinks. I went with the lemon yakulit with butterfly...I thought there was little flavor, but honestly, it was perfect for a hot summer day. I didn't want something too sugary. I ordered the Aloha BBQ plate with all rice (no macaroni salad-I'm just not a fan of any macaroni salad). The chicken was grilled and tender. Cooked to perfection. Sometimes it's difficult to get moist grilled chicken, but this place did it right. It was not dry at all. The beef was also very good. Now, my favorite is normally the kalbi ribs, but I must have gotten the fattest piece. Bc it was all fat and very little meat. I'm not a fan of the fatty ribs. This is my new fav place here!! It is so nice and calm here, but the food is also delicious to eat. Their food is not like others; I mean, look at the shaved ice with ice cream inside! Really good food here, the bbq mix comes with a lot of meat enough for two people. The meat was flavorful and tender. The fried fish was delicious and tasted very fresh, it didnt have too much of the fried coating on it which I appreciated. Coming from out of town, it was hard to find a goood place to eat. Thank God for Aloha Express being the best thing to eat before we ventured out to Sequoia National Park! Such a fun and enjoyable atmosphere- you can definitely feel the spirit of aloha! Auntie graciously greeted us and showed us the house made sauce! MUST HAVE THE SAUCE! They have everything here- boba drinks, desserts, live music, and bombb chicken katsu!
