I was always a fan of Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha. Super sad when they closed some years back! Let me just say Island Shave Ice & Creamery is my new favorite! Sunset is the perfect blend of Strawberry, Pineapple, Banana - love the flavors, plus we upgraded to add Dole whip ice cream. Their mochi is the real kine mochi balls, super soft, and offsets the sweetness right when you need it! Grateful for the generous number of mochi balls. I peeped the ice cream and it looked creamy soft. Might have to order a pint to go next time since I'm pretty much a sucker for their shave ice now. I might try other flavors but already sold on the Sunset. The service is great, they even made sure to acknowledge us since they were still finishing up another order when we walked in. That is so rare these days and much appreciated! Love the intentionality behind the menu and the service here and will be sure to continue supporting this business. Divine timing today!

It's super…read moresoft and fluffy, just how real Hawaiian shave ice should be, and they have a great variety of flavors to choose from. You can really taste the difference in quality compared to other places--it's refreshing, flavorful, and perfect on a hot day. I love that it's a local business. You can feel the pride and care they put into what they do, and it's always nice to support a place that gives back to the community in its own way. The service is friendly, fast, and welcoming. The staff is always helpful and makes the experience even better with their positive attitude. If you're in the area and craving some tasty shave ice, definitely stop by Ewa Seed Company. Great flavors, great people, and a true local gem!

Once the snowcapped area was eaten.. there was zero flavor. I told the owner n he added more syrup. Again no flavor. All he said was sorry. Didn't bother asking to get a new one since I had half..but he should have offered something esp two of us complained n threw half of it away. Gave him a one star since he did not want to attempt to fix the issue. See the pic.

I remember thinking, what a missed opportunity -- this place would totally be a hit on weekends. While flipping through the menu, I saw that the restaurant downstairs was open for breakfast with a limited menu. That's when I realized Side Street Inn is actually the kitchen behind Sidewalk Café. Fast-forward to today, I had to get my safety check, I drove past Keoneula Blvd and remembered that Sidewalk Café would be perfect for brunch. I parked, walked across the lawn, and headed down the stairs, taking in the lagoon and ocean views while listening to the happy sounds of kids playing at AquaPeakz. It took us a while to decide what to order. I originally had my eye on the combo plate with noodles, teri chicken, and kalbi, but lunch doesn't start until 12. So instead, we ordered the fish sandwich (upgraded to tsunami fries) and a plate of fish and chips with slaw. And a bonus surprise: they serve lilikoi, Green River, and Orange Bang -- Hawaii classics that always bring back such happy memories. Everything was good, but the tsunami fries were the star today. The counter staff was super sweet and helpful, patiently answering all our questions while we figured out our order. They have pub-style tables inside and umbrella-covered tables outside. But since the café faces south-southeast, it was sunny and hot -- the umbrellas weren't going to help much at that time of day, so we chose to sit inside. On past weekday visits, I've seen people quietly reading or working during off-peak hours. So glad Sidewalk Café is open!
