It all comes down to the ice. Gotta be fine melt in your mouth ice. Not chunky or gritty. And they got the good ice here. They have some other good local goodies like arare and li hing mui candies. As far as shaved ice goes, I always get the same thing: ice cream on the bottom, vanilla shaved ice, and a snow cap of condensed milk on the top. The ice cream was average quality (probably wouldn't get that again), but the syrup they used for the saved ice is so flavorful. Maybe the best syrup I've had. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

They also sell aloha wear and accessories, making this place a one stop shop for all your local needs. Their mochi is the real kine mochi balls, super soft, and offsets the sweetness right when you need it! Grateful for the generous number of mochi balls. I peeped the ice cream and it looked creamy soft. Might have to order a pint to go next time since I'm pretty much a sucker for their shave ice now. Usually, when I go to Ululani's the shave ice is fine as snow. However, today I had chunks of ice on the bottom of my bowl.
