    Tomato bisque
    Jenna S.

I love Aloha Salads, especially their tomato bisque and pita bread. It's probably the best I've ever had. I also got a small Cobb salad with chicken but I forgot to take a picture. Everything here is fresh and has so much flavor. You would spend about the same amount at a fast food place so you might as well eat something better for you. This location is really convenient because it's right off the parking lot and easy to access.

    Ono Island Ahi Salad.

Quick and delicious! Ahi was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Service was great. Went at 630pm Saturday, Valentine's Day and it was not busy at all. Topped it off with Da Island Dragon smoothie from Down to Earth.

This place is located in Pearlridge Shopping Mall Downtown. I've been here before just to order their Ono Ahi Salad for my husband but never ordered anything for me. My son told me he likes their wrap so decided to try one. I looked over their menu and saw a poster of their Aloha Gyro Wrap that included grilled Mediterranean seasoned lamb and beef, grilled red onions, feta cheese, fresh dill topped with mixed greens and their famous goddess dressing served on pita bread...yum! I asked the workers if they tried it...said they thought it was good so I ordered it and I'm glad I did! It was soooooo tasty with a lot of meat and fresh mixed greens. I will definitely order this again!

Takeout lunch from Aiea, Oahu, Hawaii... I was at Pearlridge Mall and decided to bring home a healthy lunch to share with my mom. The Yelp app brought me to Aloha Salads. I was familiar with Aloha Salads because I had patronized their Kahala Mall location. Finding Aloha Salads at Pearlridge is a bit challenging... I had to ask. It's above Longs Drugs and down the hall with Guava Smoked and Sugah Daddeh's Kane Juice. I ordered a Mandarin Ginger Salad and - because I saw a picture of it - a Tutu's Chicken Salad (in a green tortilla wrap). When my name was called, I picked up my order and opened the takeout bag at home. Mom was pleasantly surprised with the grapes and cubed apples in the chicken salad. I thought that it needed more flavor. The salad was good! I liked the crunchy wonton chips and almonds with the Mandarin oranges. It was relatively convenient and quick. I'm happy to support local farmers!

I love this place! They serve Fresh healthy - delicious reasonably price sandwiches - salads - açai bowls - wraps! Many fresh items to choose from. I've tried the humus pita. It's delicious, I love the hummus mmm simply one of my favorites. This time I ordered the Roast chicken with pesto on wheat chibatta. Delicious!!!! The Açai bowl mmm need I say more. If you haven't tried Aloha Salad. I recommend you try anything on their menu. You won't regret it.

Made a quick stop for lunch during work. This place was fast, fresh and yummy. When I am out and about I will definitely keep this place in mind.

    Small Kamuela Cobb Salad
    Risa L.

Ordered the small Kamuela Cobb salad (mixed greens. avocado. grape tomatoes. egg. bacon. blue cheese. chicken. herb ranch). The greens were nice and crisp. The toppings were neatly placed on top and dressing came in a container. They also add 2 small pieces of complimentary pita bread. Yum, fresh, and fast! Many convenient locations around the island for your salad fix.

I haven't been to Aloha Salads in years. My bf wanted to get a salad so we came here. I got a small mandarin ginger which is like a Chinese chicken salad. It comes with mixed greens. mandarin oranges. carrots. cilantro. green onions. wontons. almonds. chicken. and asian ginger dressing. It was good and refreshing. Service was also good too.

    Kamuela Cobb Salad, my favorite!
    Jen C.

I love Aloha Salads. The prices have gone up a couple times in the past year as most places have. My favorite is still the large Kamuela Cobb salad which has chicken breast, tomato, avocado, bacon, bleu cheese, boiled egg and lettuce. The dressing is so good, light and not heavy. Comes w two pita breads that goes well w the dressing. The employees here are nice and the employees already remembers my usual order before I even start to order, lol! I haven't seen their gift cards at Costco this year but that was a good deal in 2021.

    Keiki Menu

It's been here for a while. Last time was,,,, 7years ago!(OMG!!) So their menu changed a little bit. (Even except price higher) They have Keiki Menu, Design Your Own Salad Menu, Signature Menu, and I found the Aloha Gyro Wrap poster. (Unfortunately, my favorite Half sandwich & Half salad menu was discontinued.) I took time to make decision but the counter staff said "take your time" and I was very comfortable to think what should I order. I ordered Aloha Gyro Wrap. (For to go) It's very voluminous! It was double wrapped by paper but plenty sauce inside, so prepare to be messy, but taste is good! They open the space for dine in space (counter chairs and tables) but majority of the customers just ordered and took out. (They also take online order tho) When I always passed this place I was worried about this place because not so many people eating inside but I understand many people just to go. Well, next time I'd like to try their salad for choosing healthy!!!!

    Satay with Chicken Breast
    Nancy H.

Salads aren't typically what we go for when eating out, but after days in the hotel, we needed greens. I had always heard great things about Aloha Salads and this is the closest location to us, so decided to try it. It is placed right inside Pearlridge Mall, right near Gen and Uncles Fish Market. Parking can be a little chaotic, but I always find a spot pretty quickly. The customer service was good and quick. We tried two salads; the Satay salad with Chicken and The Paniolo with Steak. Their dressings are great and all of the veggies were very clean and fresh. The meats weren't quite as impressive. The steak wasn't very steak-like, more like a burger patty somehow. Chicken was a bit over cooked, but everything was seasoned well and the salads were overall good.

    Goddess Salad extra dressing

Always good and tasty. The tomato bisque soup is the best on its own or paired with their delicious grilled cheese. The goddess salad is so refreshing with the avo and papaya.

It comes with the beef and a couple pieces of shrimp tempura. The two ontama eggs were additional toppings. Let's start with the beef. The beef is similar to eating the beef in sukiyaki. The beef is shredded thin so that you can taste the marinade. They also give you a good portion of beef. It's not filled with rice and a thin layer of meat on top. Quite the opposite. More meat than rice. The shrimp tempura is good. It's not like the shrimp tempura that you would find in a good Japanese restaurant with tentsuyu dipping sauce. It's as good or better than the shrimp tempura you can buy at Marukai or Don Quijote. It comes with the beef sukiyaki drizzle? It's good. The ontama eggs are perfect. Nice and runny when you break the yolk. It just pairs so well with the beef sauce. So yummy. Yelp deleted couple of my photos. I really hate that you can't share all the photos you took with my fellow yelpers. You take the time to review and take photos that I feel should be uploaded. One photo was for a 10% discount for students, military and senior citizens. With the cost of food nowadays, it's good to know that there are restaurants like this one out there willing to give discounts to those who could use it. I appreciate it very much and it needed to be included in my review. The other was for a stamp card. Make 10 purchases of either the rice bowl, curry or udon and get a $5 discount card. This discount helps those who aren't students, military or senior citizens. Thank you for the discounts. We all appreciate them. Tatsuo who was working behind the counter was very friendly and personable. I'm pretty sure he's from Japan because of his accent. The way he treated me felt like he was the owner and very accommodating. I didn't have to go up to get my food. He brought it to me. Very good service. Oh my wife had the shrimp tempura udon. I can't tell you how good it was as i couldn't get to taste it. Sigh. My wife ate it all. I guess it must have been really good. No free samples. Lol. The place was pretty empty so it was quiet when we were there. Couple guys came in to take out. I'm guessing they have more take out than dine In. If you like sukiyaki and shrimp tempura, please give them a try. If you have similar taste buds to mine, you will really enjoy the meal there. Oh and when you go, say hi to Tatsuo. First, we got the Brussels Sprouts and Truffle Fries. Both were cooked perfectly, which is pretty much the trend of the night. The fries didn't really taste like truffle but they were thin and crispy, which is how we like them. The Brussels Sprouts were really good though, with the maple soy glaze. It was very well-balanced with the flavors and the sauce permeated throughout each bite. I got the Sushi omakase which came with a tuna carpaccio with Calamansi, and that was really good too, very refreshing. Then I got the 9 premium sushi they had for the day, a spicy tuna, and a spicy shrimp hand roll. They were all good, they taste how they're supposed to at their peak quality, and the nigiri were the right size and had a good fish to rice ratio. The hand rolls could've been better. But nothing really stood out. They were all okay. The nori was soft instead of crisp, and I didn't really get any spice. Needless to say, I was still hungry after that. Thankfully we also ordered the pork katsu, the scallops, and the Wafu steak. I didn't get to try the katsu but it was made crispy and my kids liked it enough. The scallop dish had a really yummy sauce, although, I didn't taste much truffle, kind of like the fries. The real standout for that dish was the sautéed Kale. It was delicious! The scallops were cooked really well and the dish was light overall. The Wafu steak came in a sizzling plate but had veggies right under it so it remained a perfect medium rare. Again, those veggies, they were so good, I couldn't get enough. The steak was good too, sweet and buttery, tender, and well balanced, how a proper Wafu steak should be. Overall, the food is good. The vegetables proved to be the most memorable and most delicious. Everything was cooked really well. However, it stopped there. Everything was technically "perfect" but there wasn't really anything I would be dreaming about or craving. I can't fault any of the dishes, not really, but I am not driven to rave about any of them either. I enjoyed the meal overall but it most definitely isn't worth another drive from town for us. I also had a couple of cocktails, which were okay. The Kakigori (we got strawberry and lilikoi) was sweet, refreshing, and a great palate cleanser. All tasty but pretty basic. The atmosphere was much more casual than I envisioned it to be which isn't a bad thing. Service-wise, there was one really eager busy bee server (kudos to him) and others that floated by occasionally to bring a dish or clear plates. Not sure what I was expecting, but maybe since it claimed to be a Michelin Star-type establishment, I guess I figured I shouldn't have to flag the server down every time I needed water. Overall, it was good. For someone from town? I'd likely not go back unless they open a closer location.

Will definitely be back because all other dishes we had were great and service was attentive and efficient! Original review: Service and staff were stellar. But the chicken katsu was one of the worst I've ever had on O'ahu. The chicken katsu was greasy and soaked in old oil that tasted rancid and oxidized, which made the panko a disappointingly saturated mess. The panko was way too browned, and neither flaky or freshly crunchy like katsu should truly be, and was a far cry from the photo in the menu. The poor, fatty chicken quality and the rubbery skin left on the chicken pieces just added to the gristly and chewy nature of the katsu. Charging customers these prices for this kind of subpar quality chicken is absolutely insulting, and we couldn't even finish the dish. It's such a disappointment to write this kind of review, but others need to know what they're getting when they order katsu at Gyotaku.
