Great service from Aloha Solar. I live in a small a condominium community (10 buildings and 80 units) and most installers don't want to bother with condos due to their perceived difficulty with the HOAs. This didn't phase Aloha Solar at all. They offered a PPA or purchase or lease to own. Financing was excellent. As most installers didn't offer any installation options with a condo project, I started out with a large, national solar installer. They were most interested in working with me especially since they assumed the entire complex would be installing solar panels. However, after fooling around with them for over 7 months, I canceled the contract because they simply refused to try and accommodate my needs. Just kept finding excuses to not perform. I'm writing this review to express my deepest gratitude to Joseph and the Aloha Solar team. From the very beginning of the project Joseph was extremely thorough and took his time to explain the process and our options. Joseph was always timely and detailed in his responses to our questions before we even committed to the project. His character and professionalism made our decision to go with Aloha that much easier. Fast forward to the project itself where we had multiple different challenges and requests that were never a problem. For ease of the reader here is what we needed/wanted in addition to just the solar. 1) we wanted to reroof the entire house 2) we had a separate pool solar heating system we wanted to replace 3) we wanted a particular brand of panels 4) we had trees that needed to be removed to ensure they did not block the new panels. On all 4 points, Joseph knocked it out of the park. 1) he recommended a solid roofing company that did an amazing job. 2) Joseph got multiple bids for us on his own time and found our best option for a separate pool heating solar company with great reviews. 3) our requests for particular panels was no problem, Joseph got exactly what we wanted. 4) as for the trees, this is what really took this experience above and beyond. Jospeh himself came back after the project was complete and cut the trees down on his own out of good will and willingness to help. Financing was also a concern initially but again, after seeing the break downs and utilizing the recommended loan company, the process was seamless and made sense. Recently I had solar installed by Aloha Solar. First, the installation team, Josh, Kasha, Rene and Junior were excellent and we are very happy with our solar panels and the Tesla Solar Battery. I thought it would be helpful to tell everyone how we ended up with Aloha Solar. We had first looked at a major company that had solar after its name and found it was not the major company but a company pretending to be the major company. We next went to the major company and were working with them and they were giving us different versions of what we needed, some of which by their own computer were too large for our house. We had worked with the major company before Net Energy Metering had changed a couple of years ago and they delayed things until they we missed the deadline to be grandfathered in to the old rate. We did not go forward with solar at that time. We looked at reviews of the major company and found that they subcontract out installations to local companies (probably low bid) and the major company did not have good reviews. We then looked at local companies and Gabe the owner of Aloha Solar came out and went on the roof and gave us an estimate. We were going to go with Aloha Solar after meeting Gabe because we were very impressed with him. It was good that he went on the roof because we had an old vent hole that needed to be fixed before the solar was installed We did feel that we needed to look at other companies and did so. None of the other companies went on the roof and just gave us estimates from a satellite view of the roof. None of the other companies had reviews as good as Aloha Solar. We were wondering how Aloha Solar could have all 5 star reviews and after having them do the work we can understand that it is fully justified. We wondered why also they did not have more reviews and a worker mentioned that he knows of 5 star reviews that they have received that are not posted for some reason. I can understand this because maybe the system can't believe the number of 5 star reviews they receive. Everything from the ordering and installation has been excellent. We have been approved by the city and now are waiting for SDG&E to connect us to their system. We did not realized that our solar system would already be providing us electricity starting when the system was installed prior to being connected SDG&E. While a lot of companies offer "warranties" they all were gimmicky having a Cinderella clause where the warranty is reduced yearly. Aloha Solar is straight forward and stands behind their work. Aloha Solar took care of our panel upgrade as well. All work was professional and they cleaned all trash / debris during and after work completion. Aloha Solar ensured a LAN cable connected our enphase monitoring system instead of relying on wifi. All installation of 25+ panels were completed in one day including the panel upgrade. It took more time waiting on the city and SDGE than Aloha Solar. After the system was installed Gabe went over all components of the solar system including going on the roof to help us to educate us on their work. After evaluating multiple companies I decided on Aloha Solar. I evaluated 3 additional companies and Gabe was the only one that actually came out and got on the roof and measured stuff. All the others used satellite technology and as it turns out, Gabe was able to provide a larger system than the others to cover all my electrical needs. Additionally, he was able to provide top notch panels and invertors and at a better price than the competitors. We also got our roof repaired prior to the install to ensure roof would hold up for duration of the panels. Aloha uses another company for that but they were awesome too. The roof was completed just prior to our heavy rains and I couldn't find any leaks so everything held up. Gabe promised our system would be up and running prior to NEM3 so there would be no question on being able to be grandfathered into NEM2 and with all the rain delays Aloha still came through. System is up and running and everything seems to be intact. It's only been a few days and everything is working great. At this point, the only thing to worry about is any leaks from the next set of rains but I'm not worried about it. Aloha is a solid company and if there any issues I'm confident they will handle. Last point, the entire crew that came out during install day were so great. They were all nice and answered questions and even offered to install some additional electrical monitoring I wanted (for Free). The day of install is hectic and loud and messy but when they were done it was clean as if they were never here. Super great job. Really nice people all around and the system is running beautifully right now. I'll report back later after some period of time. We bid out the job for our solar installation to 3 different companies. Aloha was the first to show up. I'm a bit picky about what I want and had done a good bit of research in advance so that I'd know what to ask for. That level of detail didn't seem to stick with the other two companies. Aloha took no issue with it and did exactly what I asked. While they didn't come in lowest on price, it was very obvious that they were serious about obtaining our business. Gabe and company did what they said, when they said they'd do it and they answered my extensive (probably annoying) list of questions. Everything through the contract and permitting process was smooth as silk (and most of us know that's a HUGE deal.) We also decided to include the installation of some new electrical equipment from a rather new manufacturer. While Aloha was clear that they didn't support this new gear, they went ahead and spent the extra time and effort to incorporate it into our design and even supported us with the new gear after the install despite their reservations. This was also very impressive to me. The installation was scheduled pretty far in advance, but they hit their dates. The installation was relatively fast and the team as professional as can be. The quality of workmanship was IMPECCABLE . I'm a tech person with extensive experience in commercial data systems and the installation is something I show off to people as a model of what a solar install should look like. The inspection went off without a hitch and I know this is a result of Aloha's incredible attention to detail because the same inspector worked on our home with our pool install previously. That inspector is definitely a stickler on the details. We passed on the first visit. Recently, we became aware that California was transitioning from Net Metering 2.0 to NEM 3.0 on April 14, 2023. This added urgency to our need to make some very fast decisions. With NEM 3.O becoming the law of the land, SDG&E customers will no longer be paid the retail price for electricity that they produce. Instead, they will be paid only a few pennies for each kWh. Once we learned that we needed to act quickly, we contacted three solar companies. The estimates were actually fairly close, but we decided to go with Aloha because they offered the best system that would produce the highest amount of electricity. Their panels and micro-converters are the latest in modern technology. We have an app on our computers and smart phones that tell us exactly how many kilowatt hours each individual panel is producing at any point in time. There is absolutely no room for uncertainty. If you decide to have your solar system installed by Aloha, union journeymen electricians will do the work. It will be done professionally with the utmost in perfection. Customer service is the best I have ever seen with any company that I have dealt with. When I send an email to Aloha, Gabe, the owner responds withing 10 minutes. I especially liked the way that Gabe did our estimate. First, he looked at our electrical panel to make sure that there was enough room for additional breakers. Next, he climbed a ladder to measure our roof for some work that needed to be done on the section that would support our panels.
