So glad this place is still here! Went back to find it on our trip last week and it's just how we remember it from our last trip 6 years ago. Cute little place located in the Discovery Bay indoor strip mall next to McDonald's. You walk in and order at the counter and the very sweet lady rings you up and then goes behind the curtain to prepare your order. You can eat at the small tables outside or take to the beach like us. The menu is large and varied and the prices very inexpensive. We like to order an array of items and put it out family style. Highly recommend! read more

Asked for vegetarian options. Of the noodles I got the spicy ramen. The lady assured me it was not chicken broth, but when I got back it looks like it's beef stock as there were pieces of meat in my noodles. I would not suggest getting any soup or noodles if you are vegetarian. read more

Found this place because I was picking up a rental car, I'm so glad i stopped. The sushi was really good and fresh. The pike bowl was absolutely delicious, the portion was huge! This is a takeout sushi place that is very small and old. The service was just okay. I got Ahi Don. When it came, it shocked me because there were only a little bit of ahi on a lot of rice. It was $15.70 including tax. Really!? I didn't feel like saying anything, so I just left. The food wasn't that good either. My son said it was the best sushi he ever had. They had sushi we have never had like beef roll (Yakiniku) and yakitori chicken rolls. Everything was delicious and very good prices. 8 sushi rolls, 2 hawaiian juices and shumai only cost us $28. Will definately eat again. Good location in Waikiki. read more

Use to be good years ago, now it's sloppy and premade. Tempura is soggy, the bento boxes are cold and small. Mostly old sour rice. Sushi will give you the runs. I gave them a few tries and it's still bad. Don't recommend it. Go to Gundam style down the street better pice and good food. read more

We were excited to find an inexpensive sushi joint in Waikiki. We ordered three rolls, the rainbow roll, dragon roll and the spicy mahi roll. The total came out to around $50 with two waters. Unfortunately, when we received the rolls we realized why the place was so inexpensive. Although the rolls looked large, they were 90% rice. The pieces of fish were super small and very thinly sliced. The eel on the dragon roll was mostly non-existent and was mostly skin (yuck). We ate about half of the food before giving up and moving on. read more

If you are looking for a sit down restaurant, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for delicious sushi, you have to check Aloha Sushi out! It's a cute little order-to-go place inside a quiet strip mall with a few small tables outside if you want to sit and eat there. Our hotel was close by, so we just ordered and brought our food back to the room each time we went. Aloha Sushi has hands down the best Ahi Poke Don I have ever had. It had the perfect blends of flavor, and every bite melted in your mouth. We got the mild version, and it was so good we had to go back twice during our stay on the island. Fair warning, If you are looking for Ahi hand rolls, make sure you specifically say "Ahi", as they also have a "tuna" hand roll, which is the canned-looking version. We ordered the actual Ahi hand rolls, which were absolutely delicious. They do not skimp out on the Ahi, and are a great bang for your buck. We also got the tempura shrimp rolls, which are truthfully nothing to rave about. They are over-coated with tempura, but the flavor is still good and they weren't dried out. I am a sucker for good Ahi, so this is a must-stop for me every time I am on the island. I will be dreaming about this place until we come back. read more

This is a joke of a sushi restaurant. I came here because it was one of the few places close to the nearby hotel, and I wanted to grab a quick bite with my boyfriend. We settled on coming here after reading the reviews on Yelp. First of all, this is located inside some abandoned and quiet shopping center where there are literally 5 stores open. It felt weird and sketchy when we arrived. Walking in to find the restaurant, it is NOT a restaurant at all. More of an order and go place, with some chairs outside if you wanted to eat there. The menu has a ton of items, I decided to order a sashimi don while my boyfriend got the tempura don and a salmon roll. We waited around 5-10 minutes for the food, and we decided to sit on one of the tables to eat. Upon opening the containers, I was thoroughly dissapointed. My sashimi don was on a bed of some type of lettuce, but the fish looked so dry and unfresh. It came with some chopped up tuna, 1 piece of salmon, 2 pieces of horse mackerel (I think?) and tobiko sprinkled on top. I was really worried and didnt want to risk myself to food poisoning so I only ate mostly the chopped up tuna and the rice with soy sauce. On the other hand, my boyfriend bit into half of his salmon roll and the salmon also looked unfresh and dry. I told him not to eat it anymore. His tempura in the tempura don was so soggy for the shrimp and some veggies, I dont even know if they fried it or not. At the end, we ended up throwing away most of it away. It cost around $26 for everything which was a huge waste of money. My boyfriend said he felt like he paid all this money just for 2 bowls of rice, because thats what we ended up eating mostly anyway. We then stopped by the McDonalds in the front to grab something to go in case we got hungry that night. Overall, this is THE WORST place for anything sushi and you should stay away!! It should honestly be shut down because I dont even know if their fish will even pass inspection. read more

This is a great little find. We liked it so much we came back the next day. We fought over who got to finish the crunchy roll. Fresh chunks of ahi on top. Large chunks of tuna in the tekka maki. Great combo of great food and really great prices. Total win. read more

We went on a Monday morning at about 11 am. We ordered the spicy tuna and the Rock n Roll (a maki with tempera shrimp inside and thin slices of unagi on top). We ordered the: 2 - spicey tuna bowls 1 - veggie roll 1 - teri chicken roll 1 - ume cucumber roll 1 - tamago roll 1 - spicey tuna cali maki And drinks for about $50 bucks and it was a lot of food. The spicey tuna bowls came in the to go udon bowls (if you know what I'm talking about, sorry I didnt take pictures. We were starving.) And the hand rolls were pretty sizable too. We ordered all of this and it came out pretty quickly. I am not a very big fan of fish and when it is not at its freshest I can tell and get sick easily but the fish here was very fresh and in big chunks too. Cute little spot that was across from our hotel. Sushi was fresh and the lady working the counter was SO NICE. Anything you order here that's spicy is no joke my mouth was on fire from one of the rolls. We ordered a roll that was topped with potato sticks and to our surprise it was absolutely fantastic.
