There aren't enough words to describe the experience we had at The Sushi Spot in Waikiki. The food was impeccable- the sushi was fresh and light. The appetizers were delicious and the entrees (teriyaki chicken and steak) was chefs kiss. The service!! Five star!!! Flora was amazing and helped us so much. Being our first time in Honolulu, I'm so grateful for finding this place on accident. Can't wait to come back!!

Delicious food and generous portions for the price you pay The service is amazing and they treat you like they've known you forever. Their owner remembered us from previous visits. The ambiance is great. A cozy feel

This small sushi spot in Waikiki offers a mix of Asian dishes like sushi, udon, and teriyaki chicken. The restaurant itself is very small and casual, it almost feels like you're dining in someone's home rather than a traditional restaurant. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but because of the limited space and small team, the restaurant gets very busy and service can take longer than expected. If you come during peak hours, be prepared to wait a bit for your food. The food was decent and hit the spot after a long day in Waikiki, but nothing particularly stood out compared to other options in the area. Overall, it was a fine, casual meal, but with so many great places nearby, we would probably try somewhere different next time we're back in Waikiki.

While the food was perfect l, the service set this place apart. Our greeter/server was warm, attentive, helpful with ordering and engaging. We arrived at kitchen closing time (approximately an hour before closing time); however, they were able to accommodate us and take our order. The food arrived promptly and well presented. Our dishes were delicious and made with our requested modifications!

I'd give this a 3.5 stars It's cozy and nice ambiance but with the QR codes to order, it's a bit cold/ impersonal and I did feel rushed as the server brought the payment device seconds after I ate the last bite and I was contemplating ordering more I came here at 8pm on a weekday after a long day of traveling and flight delays, so keep that in mind I just wanted a nice light dinner Compared to OC, prices are similar but slightly high ($8 for one piece salmon nigiri) Sashimi quality was decent but rice wasn't great Soft shell crab I love but it was way too saucy in some hot and sour type sauce

It's always a concern when I'm in such a major tourist area like Waikiki what I might be getting myself into when I pick a restaurant. Genuine crafted dishes made with pride or "quick lets get them in and out the door" meals? The Sushi Spot Waikiki definitely falls in the former. Let me start off with service. We were immediately welcomed and shown to a table. Our server happily talked about the favorites on the menu which I always appreciate. I noticed that despite being like two blocks from the Pacific that the staff were upscaled with dark collared long sleeves. Coupled with the small venue I would recommend this for an intimate date night. Kinda classy. Food. They take great care crafting their dishes and each dish came out looking like little art pieces with flavor to match. I like that they are not heavy handed on their sauces when making their rolls. Tuna crispy onion. Seared ahi topped with deep fried onions, masago, and unagi sauce. Splendid. The Phoenix Roll. Literally dinner and a show rolled (hahaha pun) into one. Shrimp tempura, salmon spicy mayo and unagi sauce that is literally torched at your table creating a crisp caramelized coat. Keep your face at a respectful distance as you try to take close ups lol. The different textures played well together. The torching could be done in the kitchen so again I think a bit classy that it is done table side. We also got a softshell crab roll and did get an udon but no picture sorry. Sometimes I need to eat before the camera does lol. Would stop here again when in Waikiki!

Really delicious with excellent service! Would recommend. Got the ahi and otoro boat.

    Sashimi combo

Amazing, so close to hotels on the strip, and great authentic dishes. Sashimi combo especially (belly) was melt in your mouth! Kids had awesome mocktails and service was top notch. Definitely gave off the aloha vibes!

Aloha! I wish I could provide them with a five stars. The staff is welcoming and the place is very cozy but for some reason, the menu items aren't that exciting.

Sushi Spot is a cute little restaurant with tiny, almost hidden outdoor seating. Started with a round of Mai Tais - was not one of the better Mai Tais I have had on our visit. We ordered several different maki rolls, our favorites were Diamond Head and Red Dragon. Food came quick and service was good.

I think this is family owned and ran because you immediately feel like family when you walk in the door. Their sushi was delicious and the outside seating area was lovely.

I would definitely consider myself a sushi connoisseur, but when I tell you I took a chance here on recipes I've never had before... these 2 are hands down my new favorite rolls! So special and not basic to any other rolls I've had... 100000/10 will definitely be coming back whenever I visit

There are meals one enjoys. Meals one admires. Meals one respectfully documents, notes the flavor balance of, and later describes using words like "elegant" and "well-executed." And then there are meals that rock your world. This was one of them. Kaiten sushi, or conveyor belt sushi, is a casual, affordable Japanese dining style invented in 1958 where plates of sushi rotate on a motorized belt passing diners, allowing them to select dishes directly. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, it's not the typical catwalk of pre-made maki rolls, nigiri, and other offering. You order off a kiosk and then it is fast-tracked to your table via sushi belt. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, you are granted the ability to try their Edomae-style sushi for a more affordable price. Edomae-style sushi is a traditional Tokyo cuisine originating in the 1820s, featuring seafood, often cured, marinated, or simmered, served atop rice seasoned with red vinegar (akasu). It focuses on enhancing fish flavor through technique rather than just raw freshness, historically acting as fast food for 19th-century Edo residents. That said, dare I say the best meal I had during my stay on Oahu? I DARE! This was an excellent place suggested by Randy S. I really can't tell you all we had because Randy took charge but every bite? Certified bangers. Not one bad bite had. I would have ordered more but I was not very assertive and everyone wanted the iPad . Most of the nigiri orders were only one at the price point I am used to paying for two and I prefer the experience of sharing. My husband at the other table sampled more than I did. Deep fried Octopus and Toro, I had Yellow Tail and Carpacio, sample two rolls. Big surprise, the French fries were outstanding. The check worked out to about 50 pp. I think that was mostly my husband who enjoyed an array of dishes. As mentioned in other reviews, the bill stacks up quickly. I given them 4 stars for uniqueness, mostly.

We are staying at the hotel, Prince Waikiki, and based on the rave reviews, we expected a flawless, high-end meal. While the restaurant looks clean and accurately mimics a true Japan dining atmosphere, the kitchen execution and lack of basic customer service completely ruined our celebration. My husband ordered the Yokozuna set and 2 Kanimiso Gunkans, and I ordered the Ozeki set (we both substituted our Ikura, and he got the Big Shrimp). While chewing his premium Toro, my husband hit a massive fish bone. It was huge, a legitimate, dangerous choking hazard. For a restaurant charging top-dollar for high-grade tuna, a bone of that size getting past a sushi chef is completely unacceptable. When my husband showed the bone to our waitress, she just casually said she would "inform the chefs." That was it. No manager ever came over, no one apologized, and they didn't even adjust our bill. We were forced to pay full premium price for a dish that nearly choked my husband. The pacing was completely mismatched. My husband's food arrived almost immediately, but my Ozeki set took an incredibly long time to come out. Because he didn't want to start eating without me on our first date, his sushi just sat on the table getting warm. The kitchen was running painfully slow, which made no sense because the restaurant wasn't even fully seated yet. Just that little moment left a bad impression and would have been worse if my husband choked. I honestly could have just went to genki sushi, never gotten bones in my fish there. Overall, sushi was good but not something to rave over. to pay that much for sushi I was expecting more, and this fell flat.

After walking around, the hostess asked if we had a reservation. I gave her my name, but she said we didn't have one, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. She then explained that our reservation was actually at their sister restaurant around the other side of the building. We went over there and found that it was primarily a sushi restaurant, which wasn't really what we were looking for. We had expected more of an izakaya-style experience, so we canceled the reservation and returned to the original restaurant. Once seated, the service was good and our server was attentive throughout the meal. One thing that was a little confusing was that sushi and sashimi had to be ordered from the sister restaurant, even though we were dining in the other restaurant. The food was brought over and served to us without any issues, and there were no problems with the bill, but it took us a while to understand how the two restaurants operated together. We ordered several dishes, including chicken skin wrapped gyoza, crab tempura, an assorted sashimi platter, a cream cheese and fish roe appetizer served with toast, an egg dish topped with fish roe, chicken karaage, and the miso butterfish. The highlights for me were the chicken karaage, miso butterfish, and gyoza. I enjoyed them enough to order another round of the gyoza and chicken. That said, many of the dishes leaned toward the sweeter side of Japanese cuisine, which just isn't my personal preference. If you enjoy those flavors, your experience may be different. Overall, the food was good, the service was solid, and there were a few standout dishes. The confusion with the reservation, entrance setup, and relationship between the two restaurants got the evening off to an awkward start, but the meal improved once we were seated. I'm not really a Japanese food person, so four stars is probably the highest rating I could realistically give a Japanese restaurant. With that in mind, I thought they did a good job, and there were a few dishes I would consider ordering again.

Seriously, it's easy to enjoy their bowls, sushi sets, or bentos anytime and anyplace. We've got a passion for this place. Here's how this love affair started...I discovered Domo when a friend invited me for some sushi and sips at her place. I was amazed at the beautiful platter of sushi that accompanied our sake and wine. My friends are the best hosts! I devoured the bombs, nigiris and rolls (in between sips!). Everything was simply delicious! Fast forward a few months, I order a couple sushi sets to host a poolside, golden-hour birthday get together at my other friend's home. (I know, you want to be part of this squad, right?!). Anyway, using the online order system is a snap! My hubby went in to pick up the sushi and said they were slammed but our sushi sets were ready to go. This time we ordered some ikura because the hubby and my bestie are big fans. Both agree it was fresh and fantastic! And the garlic set with the flash-seared fish and a hint of mayo is a MUST-try. We also ordered a California roll for my friend's aunt who is not really a sushi fan. She delighted in several pieces and even enjoyed the nigiri from the garlic set. Total convert! After enjoying the platters and sets, we had to try the bentos and bowls. This time it's just us and the pup at the park. The bentos provide a great variety and comes with miso soup. The hubby really likes the shrimp tempura with ahi and salmon nigiri and ahi poke. It's a steal at less than $20. I'm a bowl girl myself and like the spicy tempura. The tempura is cooked crisp yet tender. The spicy ahi poke combined with the creamy crab salad and the crunchy ocean salad delights all my tastes buds. It's truly an adventure in finding the perfect bite--and there are so many in this bowl! I also love the seared salmon bowl. It is melt-in-your-mouth goodness. I add the fried onions for some texture. You know a place is top-notch when you can feel confident that anything off their menu will satisfy your cravings. It's right next to Assagio's Kahala. But if you're worried about parking, I suggest ordering in advance and then just picking up. This works great during peak dining hours. If you want fresh, delicious sushi that is reasonably priced be like us and visit Domo Café. You will probably also be like us and want to go back to try more.

This was my dinner day 1 of my trip back home. So delicious that I ordered again on the last…read moredinner of my trip! Spicy ahi bomb and Garlic salmon $18 - it's worth it for 8 quality pieces. The garlic salmon didn't have too much smokiness which I liked. They are not stingy when filling the inari with the spicy ahi. I did online ordering for easy pick up since the parking lot can be filled during dinner rush.
