Cute and clean place but water drops from AC unit onto the table in the corner which landed on our study materials, thankful we found out before we got our food. Customer service is decent, he answers questions and asks if we like wasabi, soysauce and ginger with our food. But I guess they dont have complementary water like other places offer. And sushi is same price as other small places like this one as mentioned below. Lowered star because for the price it is half the sushi you get at Makiki sushiman or Ahi Vegetable. Same prices all average a $12 maki in most sushi places, and what i ordered at Aloha Sushi was the quality of a $4 maki. Not happy about the quality AND quantity. Came here because it was convenient for my friend to meet up, but I'll never come back here. Others who think this is best sushi have yet to explore all the sushi places on island -- I've been to at least 15 places all around Oahu I have yet to review. read more

The sushi was ok, I have had better. I am particularly writing this review strictly for the customer service I witnessed today on my way to the Airport. Me my mom and sister watched the lady who I would presume to be the owner, yell at a customer. I am assuming the customer requested a refund because what she ordered wasn't what she expected. The owner didn't seem like she wanted to refund the customer, the customer ended up calling the law to help her to get the refund. Hawaii is such a beautiful place, but we have ran into a lot of business owners that have a poor attitude like the lady at Aloha Sushi while on our vacation. First and last time here. Ordered an avocado maki and what they call a negitoro maki. If you like your maki rolls to fall apart this is the place for you. And don't be fooled by their "negitoro" maki, it's literally ahi cubes with green onion so it was not that buttery taste like real negitoro. Never been but place had great reviews and we wanted to try it out. Tried to place a phone order but asked about some of the platters and the contents since it's not online. Was connected with someone who did not seem to know the menu and handed the phone over to someone else. The customer service was terrible. I asked if they had any platters that contained ahi and hamachi (very nicely, I may add) and was told that they didn't have hamachi. No big deal. I then asked if they had anything with Ahi or if he could recommend something to me. I was interrupted and was told sternly that he had other calls coming in to place orders. I told him that I was also one of those customers and was trying to place an order. The man on the phone then raised his voice and said, "CAN'T YOU JUST COME IN OR SOMETHING?". That was more than enough to say my goodbyes and hangup the phone. Maybe we caught him on a stressful day and you may have better results than we did. Aloha Sushi is a cute little hole in the wall restaurant located in the Airport Commercial Center near Subway and Bale. I say "cute" because the inside is heavily decorated with stuffed animals, girly-type decorations and also a few inspirational/motivational Christian quotes and scriptures. Seating area is very limited and it can get really tight in there, especially during the lunch hours. I recommend calling your order in if you know what you want as it gets busy during lunch. Customer service is usually pretty good here. They have a wide variety of menu items. I usually order the Spicy Ahi Donburi-it comes with a small miso soup. One of my new favorite items is the Dynamite Maki which is not really spicy although they say it is but still a good maki nonetheless. In addition to their sushi, they also sell fountain drinks (Coke products) and random Asian foods and snacks including roasted seaweed and noodle bowls. Overall, this isn't a bad place to get a quick bite of sushi if you're in the area. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!! esp since they're christians! yaaaaas! lol They have all sorts of sushi rolls! i love their tempura maki though! my go to roll! yum!! my bf gets the dragon roll all the time. their prices are okay too. its about $10.00 for a roll with 8 pieces. (i get full from that) they also have hand rolls that cost only $1.30 something. very affordable. the service there is awesome! the ladies are so sweet. she remembers me no matter how long i havent been there. and they play christian songs while you eat :) if you wanna dine in, they have only one table for 4 people and the rest is on the benches by the window. its a small place. read more

First thought upon entering this small little restaurant-- whoa.. Weird decor. There were a lot of stuffed animals of various sizes (specifically Nemo and one of the fishies from the Little Mermaid (?)) hanging from the ceiling. Maybe the owners were going with the whole ocean, fish theme cause it's a sushi place, but still.. odd. However, we did spot a child behind the counter, so maybe those were just his extra stuffed animals from the carnival or something. The restaurant has minimal seating (super minimal.. Like 2 seats) so it's best to take out. Although there were a few other customers, we didn't wait long for our food and were in and out of the restaurant in less than 10 minutes. We ordered a dynamite and dragon maki, and both were really ono.. The fish was fresh and both rolls had a really clean taste (if that makes sense)! I've had just the rolls before, but the maki is so much better! The convenience of the restaurant serves as another incentive to come here again. Short drive and good, cheap sushi.. Parking was slim in our mid size vehicle but we were able to squeeze in. Right away this little hole in the wall was extremely clean and was playing some awesome music! Thanks for that great music selection. Any how, I really love how you can see their menu with picture and model demonstrations. It takes out all the guessing and asking questions for new customers like me. The server behind the counter was really nice and we ordered right away! With very little wait time our food was completed. I ordered the 1/4 quarter of Poke that comes with wasabi and ginger. I also picked out a green tea. This place is really small but has a little table and a bench for eating. Grab what you need to go or just eat in. This was my favorite place to get sushi I would drive all the way to Nimitz from Aiea. Well, not anymore. I ordered the dragon, Osaka, Philly maki online Grub hub and did not get an alert my order was ready until I finally realized I need to check. Order was ready 12:30pm I finally got a ride there around 1:30pm and my order was sitting out on the counter "not in a cooler" all that time. The counter guy made some pretty sarcastic remarks about them eating my order if I didn't show up. I apologized and felt like crap walking away. I have ordered from just about every Aloha Sushi on the island, the Nimitz location would be my first and last today. I called in a phone order and asked for a Dynamite Maki. As with every other Aloha Sushi location on the island, and any local sushi restaurant on Oahu for that matter, if you order a Dynamite Maki, it comes with Spicy Ahi on the top. In the process of paying for my order once I got in store, I noticed on the ingredient portion on their menu under Dynamite Maki, it was listed as crab. Crab isn't what I wanted so after the lady took my payment, I clarified the ingredients and asked if I could add in Spicy Ahi and that I would be more than happy to pay the extra. A lady from the back, came around to the front and started yelling at me that she couldn't add Ahi because it was too expensive. I told her it's ok and that I would pay for the difference, but she didn't want to meet me halfway. I didn't want to argue with her so I kindly asked for a refund so that I could go to Aloha Sushi at Pearlridge, she started to become upset and tell me that I would have to wait for my refund and come back at a later time because the owner wasn't there. At this point I could tell that this wasn't going anywhere, I also sensed by the way she was acting that she didn't want to refund me either, I had to call the police for them to refund my money. When the police came, it took all but 2 minutes to get my money back, and shockingly the owner of the company was in the back of the restaurant the whole time. Legally by Hawaii state laws, businesses must have signage posted for a no refund policy, if no policy or signage exists, Hawaii businesses are legally obligated to refund their customers when requested. *Given the product is returned. Not only did this business waste my time and HPD's time, but my husband was also late to reporting to Schofield. At the end of it all, HPD made them refund my money, so, what was the point in all of this, is my questions to the owners.... Rather than lose $14 for the day, you've lost my business indefinitely. Edit to the owners response: My husband is my witness and an active duty member of the military, you have video cameras in your establishment. I would love for you to post the footage of your version. This is absurd and absolutely abhorrent that you would treat a customer like this, none the less a family who serves this country. Not only is your behavior as a business owner disgusting but it is illegal to publish lies about another person. Please post the video footage of your version. read more

Wow this place is the bomb!!!! The staff members were super super nice when I went and when I ordered a Superman maki and a dragon maki. The food was incredibly tasty with a touch of vinegar in the rice and the soy sauce combined extremely well with it as well! I recommend this place 100% and I remember how delicious it was. This place might be my go to place to eat now!! It is like a small restaurant but oh no don't let that fool you inside is like a cozy home with decorations everywhere, how amazing! I was looking for a fresh take on sushi here on the island but their offerings seem to be ripe on the mayonnaise and non-fresh ingredients. I may be looking in the wrong place but so far unimpressed. This was my first time trying Aloha Sushi (near the airport) and I'll be a return customer for sure. Their sushi was fresh and tasty. Best of all, they took care of their customers on New Year's eve! They usually close at 7pm but since orders were still coming in, they accommodated us as accepted our orders. I went to pick my order up at 7:30 and a lady came in after me. I truly appreciate them.
