This is a cute little spot for some sushi. I thought the service was excellent and the sushi rolls were good. I am not a fan of pasty tuna, though, so I was a bit disappointed with the spicy ahi. I like it chopped up instead but that's my fault for not asking. Overall, great experience as I've always wanted to try this spot. The baked green mussels were delicious!

Crab tempura and Calvin's choice

If you are looking for a Sushi Spot in Aiea, Sushi Spot is the place to go! Located at the bottom of Aiea Heights Drive in Aiea commercial center! It's a small restaurant, I would consider hole in the wall, looks family owned. The past times we went, we were able to walk in. Was introduced to this place by my sister, and omg I'm so glad she did. It's one of her favorite places as well. Our go to is the crab tempura and Calvin's choice. The wife ordered the sushi and sashimi combo deluxe. And for dessert, the fried Oreos with ice cream. Oh my gosh, so good. Hit the spot! Everything was so good like always. The crab tempura, good. The Calvin's choice was good, and the sushi and sashimi combo deluxe was good. Next time I'm gunna try the hamachi lovers choice. I love my hamachi! Customer service was also great like always. The ladies were so so nice, gentle and friendly. Will definitely be back! Go and get your sushi fix neowwww!!

This SUSHI hit the SPOT!! I ordered the rainbow #2 roll and the kamikaze roll. My husband got a natto temaki, spicy salmon roll, and mount fuji roll. We also shared an order of agedashi tofu which came with a heaping mound of bonito flakes. Out of all the rolls we ordered the spicy salmon was our favorite!

I did alot of takeout before and it's always been consistent. Today, we decided to sit-in and just relax. Very cozy with a few tables spaciously apart. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had the Chirashi, Titanic Roll, and the Red Dragon Roll. The Chirashi is always good and the fish is always fresh. I like the slightly grilled shrimp on top. The Titanic Roll with Salmon leading the roll is excellent. The Red Dragon Roll is incredible with the crunchy tempura shrimp being the star. For a party of 2, this was alot of food. We had leftovers for takeout along with some other nigiri to go.

Hidden gem. Definitely made me very full. Reservations: luckily I was able to reserve a table last minute before the dinner rush before 7. Ambiance: feels like Japan Customer service: love it Price: a little pricey but it's very good Parking: lots of parking

Ordered the Lion King roll, unagi roll, and two spicy ahi hand rolls, and everything was spot on. The Lion King roll was rich and flavorful, with perfectly baked fish on top and just the right amount of sauce -- indulgent without being overpowering. Each bite was warm, savory, and satisfying. The unagi roll was done really well. The eel was tender and buttery, with a nice balance of sweetness from the sauce and a subtle smokiness that didn't overwhelm the rice. The spicy ahi hand rolls were fresh, generously filled, and had a clean heat that built slowly instead of overpowering the fish. The nori was crisp, and the portions were solid. Overall, everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Great variety, great flavors -- I'd absolutely order these again.

Run by a husband/wife duo who are absolutely welcoming and wonderful! The food never takes long even though everything is made to order. The complimentary miso soup is just lovely! They have TVs on both ends of the restaurant always playing lively music! By far my favorite sushi spot in town!!

Sushi Deluxe Combo

Mahalo Stretch, great choice for a snack before the airport. We arrived before the dinner rush and was seated right away. We wanted something not too heavy but just enough before the flight. The Sushi Deluxe Combo was a perfect snack for two! In a reasonable amount of time, this delicious platter was served. Quality slices of fresh fish, perfectly seasoned sushi rice, and this included hot miso soup and hot green tea. I appreciate when the tables and chairs are clean. Most important to me is that the dining area isn't too crowded nor noisy. I like to hear my friend's conversation :) Our server was very gracious and kind. Our Sushi Deluxe Combo was perfect! We enjoyed our dining experience here and we made it to the airport in plenty of time.

Lunch in Aiea, O'ahu, Hawai'i... As I was walking to my car from Aloha Charms, I saw the sign for Sushi Spot. I've heard the name before... why? My friend, Traci T., got ROTD (Review of the Day) ten years ago! More recently, my friends, Craig, Deborah, and Gabriel have dined there. Ok - let's try it since we're here! Sushi Spot is truly one of those "hidden gems". It's a cozy nook where the driveway is kinda spooky because it's on an incline. The free parking lot was almost full! Inside, there were only 2 open tables! This place is popular! Service was very polite, traditional Japanese, and efficient! The server was so kind with a soft voice and gracious manners. I decided on the Sashimi Special... it was beautiful, fresh, and delicious! I ate the scallop first... mmm... slightly sweet and soft! I ate the grilled shrimp last and was surprised by the slight kick from the Sriracha/mayo sauce... LOL! Very clever - to add it to the smokey flavor! I also enjoyed the lettuce leaves, salmon, ahi, tamago, tako, squid with tobiko, and hamachi! This was a great, spontaneous adventure! I'll be back! Note: Thanks for the fun condiments on the table: shoyu, wasabi, and ginger! Thank you so much for the complimentary hot tea at the end of the meal!

Spicy mochiko chicken

Service: The moment you walk in you are greeted! Very nice peeps there! All smiles and super friendly! Ambiance: It's a small whole in the wall place in Aiea, and parking was pretty easy. My husband and I were able to get there before the dinner rush. When you walk in, it's clean and very well lit. Food: Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo....freaking good! We got the sashimi platter, agedashi tofu, spicy salmon salad, Calvin's sushi and another sushi roll I forgot. Oh, and the hubby got the spicy mochiko chicken. The food came out pretty quick! Which is always a plus cuz we were starving! The sashimi was fresh and delicious! Agedashi tofu and the salad were also good! When they brought out the spicy mochiko chicken I was expecting the fried chicken to be sauced, but instead put the sauce on the side. Which I thought it was a plus because they were thoughtful on my husband's part. Overall, we had a great time! We will definitely come back again soon!

Fried Oreo and ice cream

There's nice and there's Sushi Spot. A small sushi restaurant in Aiea ran by a family. They are so sweet, friendly, and pleasant. You can definitely feel the positive energy. Aside from free/complimentary water, their miso soup is also complimentary. If you are in the mood for pretty good quality sushi around Aiea, this may be an option. (But really there isn't much good sushi place on this side of the island.) It is a small place and not sure if you can make reservation. My husband got the Hamachi lover and he was pretty happy with it. I tried their 2 pieces shrimp tempura udon. Broth was on the peppery side but good. They do have other entrees like chicken cutlet, udon, donburi, etc if you're not a raw fish eater like me. Be sure to try their fried oreo with vanilla ice cream at the end. It was a nice treat after the meal. Just a small note, if you're looking for an authentic Japanese sushi experience, I would try somewhere in town.

Fish is so fresh and sushi so yummy! You gotta try this spot in Aiea. Lots of parking available in the lot, about 10 tables inside this cozy, casual restaurant. We were seated quickly and perusing the menu when we joined in on singing Happy Birthday to a young guest there! What a great family vibe! So many choices on the menu and prices are what you expect to pay at a sushi place. Fresh fish and lovely service from this family business. We'll be back!

Great sushi rolls in Aiea! The storefront was an unassuming restaurant in a strip mall area. I expected spicy ahi bowls and sushi platters, but you could get Sansei level rolls here too! The shop itself was small, with a few tables and chairs and a bar area. The nigiri was good, but if you compare it to other izakaya's in town it's not quite the a same level. The rolls are what you should order and appears to be Sushi Spot's strong suit. This place offered sashimi and nigiri, but also had an assortment of Americanized influenced rolls like California rolls, caterpillar roll, and the rainbow roll. They even have cream cheese...I personally don't understand cream cheese with rice, but you uninitiated can get that. There are just so many roll combinations. It's overwhelming since there were so much to choose from. I usually get one roll with salmon, one with spicy ahi, and one with unagi. Service was great, like you'd expect from most Japanese restaurants. The take out was well packaged with a cardboard carry box. I've come here a few times. I've tried nigiri, the rolls, and fried stuff like chicken katsu and mandoo. Mandoo may not be Japanese but they make it good. Agedashi tofu is a must try and really good. Go for the fancy rolls! Can't go wrong. I never took pictures of the rolls. I just ate it too fast.

Long Overdue: My First Time at Azuma's (And Why I'm Already Planning My Return)…read moreOkay, I have to be honest with you all -- I've been sleeping on Azuma's. There is something deeply confusing about Mitch's Fish Market & Sushi Bar…read more Not bad confusing.Worse. Identity-crisis confusing. Because the fish?Excellent. Cold, clean, glistening with that dangerous little shimmer that tells you somebody in the supply chain actually cared. You can taste the quality immediately. The kind of quality that silences a table for half a second. And credit where it is due: almost everything I tried ranged from very good to genuinely great. But then the room begins speaking. And suddenly the spell breaks. The atmosphere feels like someone took a serious sushi counter, stripped away all sensuality, all elegance, all ritual, then dropped it inside a fluorescent island diner where exhausted civilians came to discuss parking validation and Costco receipts. It is the culinary equivalent of wearing a Rolex with orthopedic sneakers. The contradiction never stops humming beneath the experience. You sit there eating beautiful fish while surrounded by an energy that feels strangely... transactional. Heavy. Casual in the least flattering way. A room with no mystery. No seduction. No gravity. Like Zippy's accidentally wandered into the tuna trade and struck gold. And on an island like Oahu, where atmosphere matters almost as much as the fish itself that becomes a real problem. Because sushi is not merely consumption. It is theater.Restraint.Texture.Whispered precision. The best sushi spots on Oahu understand this instinctively. They understand that exceptional fish alone is not enough. You are paying for transportive experience. For mood. For elegance. For the feeling that the evening exists slightly outside ordinary life. At Mitch's, the fish reaches for Tokyo while the room drags you back toward a tired strip mall off the freeway. And then there's the crowd. Not evil people. Not rude people. Just an oddly low-rent energy orbiting genuinely premium seafood. The kind of room where one table is eating remarkable otoro while another feels one argument away from discussing used-car financing over soy sauce packets. It creates dissonance. Especially considering the prices. Because at those prices, you begin comparing the full experience not merely the fish quality and that is where Mitch's stumbles hard. There are multiple sushi spots across Oahu that equal or surpass the seafood while also delivering beauty, atmosphere, intimacy, and actual emotional texture. So what remains is this strange contradiction: Mitch's serves fish far above the dignity of its own ambience Which almost makes it fascinating. Would I be back - no . You can get same and better quality fish, much better vine, better part of town for the same Price.
