Half chicken with rice and beans(suppose to be beans but it was mostly soup)
    Remy J.

I truly enjoyed this place in Raleigh they are amazing there but here in Sanford it just seems like they just rather lose customers than even try. I paid for a half a chicken plate with rice and beans. I got the chicken and rice..The beans were basically at the bottom of all the juice that wasn't at all enough of what i paid for. Ambiance gives overworked over priced no smiles and i guess since they didn't recognizes me when i came i truly wanted to turn around. I get it though. Fast food isn't easy but if you doing it it gotta be right people work hard for their money and just want an honest meal. Definitely only going if i am seriously craving it

Looks, smells and tastes great! Clean location, good ambiance, kitchen looks clean from the counter.

This is the best Peruvian chicken in the whole world except Peru. Now don't become depressed or have an anxiety attack when you arrive. The sign has a new name Fabes. Not sure what that stands for. But you will get the same great counter service and help from the staff. BTW I did ask about the name change. Seems that The owners only wanted alpaca restaurants in the triangle. Hello the triangle is moving is expanding. But don't worry I'll be back cause that's some gooooood chicken.

This was incredible. What a pleasing dish visually, and what an even better taste! I couldn't leave any pieces uneaten. Very flavorful steak and seasoning with complimentary toppings and sauces that add to the experience. The service is great and the wait was short. The ambiance was clean and relaxing. Prices arent to high and definitely a new favorite here.

The reason for my rating not being as high as it could've been comes down to something not directly related to the food. We dropped in about one hour before close recently. It was our first time in Sanford, and yelp search led us here thanks to the good reviews. As we pulled in to the parking lot, I could see someone sweeping the dining room floor. We walked in and up to the counter to place our orders. Then as soon as the staff asked if our order was to go and we said we were dining in, the staff turned and looked at this other staff at the register and made faces at each other that clearly said, ugh they're eating in and we just cleaned everything! The blatant facial expression and eye rolls made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, and as if we were being a burden somehow. And frankly, the best food in the world wouldn't have made up for it. As for the food, we got the half chicken, beans and rice, plantains, and homemade slaw. Slaw was creamy and soupy, and the chicken had good seasoning although some parts had dried out and weren't as juicy as expected. Beans and rice was good, and plantains were...plantains. I imagine this was not the peak dinner service so I had reasonable expectations and enjoyed the food for what it was, but it was ultimately the attitude of staff that ruined the experience for me. I hope they keep improving. I wish them well.

    Tasty beans, rice and torts.

To be fair, I didn't try their signature dish (chicken) but I did go to this place twice for lunch in just two day. Both times I had large plate of black beans with rice. Both times I asked them to go easy on the rice and throw in extra beans. One lady didn't understand but the second time they got it right. They have bottled hot sauce at the drink counter but don't miss the little salsa bar. Two types of hot sauce, cilantro, radish and lime. I threw the red salsa, cilantro and radish on the beans and rice and it was so tasty. Also, grab some of the fresh corn tortillas. Really goes well with the beans The place gets packed at lunch, tables get full quick so plan accordingly.

Amazing food. The chicken is outstanding. The beans over white rice and the green beans are so good. A must stop when in the Raleigh area

There were six of us one person in their seventies. We decided to eat in and then get on the road. After ordering our food I went to get us a table. All tables were dirty as well as the floor. They seemed to have been busy so okay perhaps understandable? I returned to the counter to ask the young lady who took our order if someone could clean off the table for us. She replied yes but after some time I had to ask again. I was told by another young lady that the young girl I had already asked would do it as soon as she had a chance. After several more minutes, I asked who the manager was? I told her that my sister in- law was now cleaning the tables but the floor was very dirty . She said, that someone would clean it but that they were very busy. Not sure about the drive thru but at that point only two persons were in the store. Finally the young lady came to clean the table when I asked if she could sweep under the table ,her exact words were, " we only do that at the end of the day". I did inform the manager who said this was wrong and that she needed more training. The floor was swept but I am disappointed even with the manager's attitude. If you have customers who want to dine in how is the cleanliness of your establishment less important than those who are ordering? Wouldn't you make sure that customers could sit and eat in a clean space a priority? Not a good look. Ty.

But as I work right near it I pick up dinner for my husband and son after work sometimes and it's a whole other story. EVERY-TIME I get attitude. If I'm ordering through the drive through I hear the grunts and sighs and can very much tell they're irritated just due to having to take my order. I stopped getting the large sodas with the combos because they never offer me a carrier. If I ask for one then again I'm met with attitude because they have to reach up and grab a carrier. So I stopped asking for sodas. Last visit last week I had 3 bags and instead of handing them to me one at a time she started pushing them at me. I said I didn't think I could grab them all at once and almost dropped them all. Luckily I managed but it's not professional. Not friendly. There's no hellos, goodbyes, thank you'd, your welcome. Nothing but dirty looks and your food practically thrown at you. They're not just unwelcoming but mean. If it weren't for my husband and son I wouldn't go there at night. I don't pay for half ass food over priced food to be treated like crap as well. :((

I ordered passion fruit juice and it took me to my childhood, when my mom would make fresh, pure juice, no sugar added! The food portions were perfect for the price, I even had enough to take home for my dinner. The ceviche leche de trigre was also on point, very similar to what I have tried in my trips to Peru. Now, the location almost made me turn around. There was glass and trash on the streets and it didn't seem like a safe place. Luckily, management informed us that they are going to move due to this. Hopefully they will continue having great food, good ambiance, and a better location.

I hope you like to read because ai have a lot to say about Gustitos! So a friend of mine told me…read moreabout this new Peruvian restaurant in the area so I definitely had to try it ! I came with my family ( 4 of us ) this weekend. First of all the location and the parking lot area are not appealing at all, looks a bit sketchy from the outside. On the inside it is clean but it is a bit confusing, it seems that there is a Peruvian restaurant during the day and a separate business as a Dominican club at night so there are different signs on the outside and the vibe inside is a bit off. So we could probably say that the location is a hole in the wall. Anyhow, sometimes you hear that the best food is served in a hole in the wall, we'll that is true here!!! I have to say that they probably have the best Peruvian food in the area!!! The Mostrito Parrillero has everything you could expect ( anticucho, pancita, corazón de pollo, molleja, chicken, potatoes and a great sauce ). Texture and flavor is the best I've had in a long time. Then I ordered the Trio ( 3 dishes in one). The ceviche was well prepared, the fish chicharrón with the "acebichado" sauce was delicious, sadly the Chaufa was not so good in my opinion, I could find better. The fettuccini a la huancaina was also tasty and well prepared. The Lomo Saltado that came with it was very good, the onions and tomatoes where perfectly cooked, onions were cooked but still crunchy. Sauce was great, not too salty as you find in other places, just right. The meat was just ok in my opinion, meat would be a bit softer ( lomo should be a softer cut ). Then I got drinks, the passion fruit juice was delicious, the chicha was just ok, needed some lemon and it was not cold. Service was overall good. They kept refilling our complimentary "cancha" appetizer and giving us "leche de tigre " to taste. A couple of things I didn't like is that they don't offer drinks by pitcher only by the glass and at $5 each adds up pretty fast so they should offer that as an option. Also something that I didn't like is that they automatically charge you a 15% gratuity no matter how big is your party. I don't agree with that because tips should be dictated by the service and not an automatic add on. Where is their incentive to improve the service ?! My in-laws went the same day and they also complained about that. When it comes to pricing I believe it was a bit expensive. Even though the food is very good you are being charged same as in restaurants that are located in a nice area and have amazing service. I don't think the prices match the overall experience. Too bad we didn't have any room for desserts, I definitely want to try their picarones which according to them are made from scratch so yes I will definitely be back. I may probably just order food to go next time though as I didn't enjoy the location and I don't agree with their tipping policy. Finally, I was told by a friend that their "alfajores " were not good, kinda like the hard ones that you find at Alpaca and not the soft and crumbly ones you can get in Peru. Maybe they need to find a different supplier for those. Anyhow I am definitely coming back and look forward to try all the other dishes they have !!!
