While we were waiting, something happened that left a bad impression. Another couple walked up without a reservation, and I overheard the hostess tell them, "Give me five minutes and we can squeeze you in." That was frustrating because we had already been waiting for a long time without being offered the same accommodation. Once we were finally seated, another couple who had a reservation at the same time as us was also seated. However, the couple who had arrived without a reservation received their food and service before we did. Even our waiter Amanda seemed to realize something wasn't right. After overhearing my boyfriend and me discussing the situation, she came over and apologized. While I appreciated the apology, the experience had already left us feeling overlooked. Another waitress also passed over our table before we were helped. To make matters worse, one of the main reasons we came was to enjoy the sunset over the water. Unfortunately, we couldn't even see it because large plastic coverings around the patio blocked the view. That was incredibly disappointing, especially after waiting so long to be seated. From my perspective, the way we were treated felt unfair, and it left me questioning whether we were treated differently because of the color of our skin. Produce is fresh, deli meat is great, and everything is well stocked. On the other hand bakery items are often at times dry, and every now and then dairy products are expired. Please make sure you take things off the shelves if it is out of date or old. Bathrooms could be a little cleaner and better stocked. Checkout lines move fast, but the self checkout is ridiculous. After you scan an item it'll make you wait for about 10 seconds until it detects you have put that item in the bag, even though you did. Sometimes it will say "Please remove unscanned item from the bagging area" even though you scanned the item. That issue needs to be resolved because it gets on mine and other peoples nerves.
