So let me start with the good so I don't sound like an ungrateful American tourist. The singers at Cabin nite dinner theater have amazing voices. One of the characters described was partially responsible for creating Denali national park. The problem I had with the show itself was that there was NO INDIGENOUS REPRESENTATION at all. Since coming to Alaska we have been learning constantly about the horrible atrocities committed to the native population in the name of white greed and Christian nationalism. We have also learned that these issues are pretty prevalent in Alaska today also, so I found it very offensive that they presented a white washed show like that. The food was what you would expect flavor-wise for a dinner theater but what made me really put off was that we had a global pandemic less than a decade ago and it's like this company learned nothing from it. You are expected to pass your plate to the 11 other people sitting at your table so they can put the food on your plate for you. We spent a week in a petri dish (cruise ship) before this land tour and I would say 10-25 percent of the people are obviously ill, I don't want anyone but a trained chef with experience in food safety to touch my food thank you. Overall I would recommend avoiding this dinner theater and donating the cost of it to native Alaskan charities or cultural groups. We were expecting to walk into another cheesy tourist trap. Not so. This was the most fun we have had on a vacation in a long time. The food was excellent, the servers were delightful, super friendly, super talented, and later they provided the entertainment which was a lot of fun. Highly recommend this place. read more

Delightful show, and pretty good food! Filling and tasty. It's not a gourmet meal but the joy of the show and sitting at the big long tables making friends and learning some fun new things about Alaska made this a highlight of our recent trip. Tourism, pricey, family style I started this post with some HI (human intelligence) tags for this show. We came here as it was raining. I'm a big culture fan and so anything that can shed some light on local culture/activities would be much appreciated. I have to admit that this place is probably the only dinner night show experience in vicinity and rarity is one reason why it's pricey. Dinner: food itself is comforting style, all you can eat, but the family style serving would help mitigate some devouring behavior under peer pressure. "Why am I eating so much while everyone else seems full..." Salad, corn, bean, mashed potatoes are what you'd get from a regular Texas restaurants. Wild caught salmon is definitely a highlight. Pretty decent. Short ribs are heavily sauced. Otherwise I could take more. Dessert is mixed berry pie, way too sweet. (And you'd argue that's why they are called desserts, sure) The family style would only work assuming the whole table is full of people who love to collaborate and are already used to family style. The hot bowls certainly pose some challenges on "passing along" and "handing over". You end up eating the food sitting in front of you. For us, it's nice because wild salmon is right in front of us. We did ask around to see whether others need some. Salmon is probably the only dish that's able to be passed along... Service becomes part of the show. Waiters and waitresses are very friendly. They'll teach you to howl for your food. There are also a mixed of piano playing, singing along the food serving. The show begins when all tables finish their main and start desserts. Be sure to ask for whatever you want when the server calls for dessert round. This is your last chance. You miss it, no more food will be served. As for the show itself, it's about Alaska. Some of it is culture related. My favorite part is a creative song around Alaska is our home. It's very close to hearts to anyone who love their home. Other than that, script is ok, sharing some personal stories (part of the plot at least). Got some good laughs, some interaction with audience. Your experience is also dependent on where you sit, which I guess is randomly assigned... our seat (table K) has blocked view to the stage. The food was very good at this place. Service was great. If you like dinner theaters you would probably rate this place higher. Everything is family style and the food is ready when you walk in the door. The night I went we had salmon, ribs, corn, baked beans, mashed potatoes and blueberry cobbler. Touristy in a good way. The actors are excellent and engaging. Kept my kids age 18 to 6 yo entertained which is hard to do. Food is so so but I think we were not really expecting much so no problem there. Essentially a cruise ship type production in a more intimate environment. Family friendly and fun. read more

It is THE most amazing thing happened in our Alaska trip! I will never forget this wonderful night! The food was great, wild salmon and ribs are delicious. And lots of vegetarian options, which is very necessary for our 1 week trip. ;) The show is spectacular! They are so professional and funny! Their storyline covers historical figures about Alaska, poetry, etc! I'm sorry for videotaping the show a little bit which they said no videos in the beginning, I figured this out after the show. Sorry, so I'm not going to put videos online for others. The performers are very friendly, felt very welcomed by them. I'm very happy overall, and highly recommend others to go there if you stay in Denali Area. You can give them a call and they would pick you up and send you back after the show. Great fun. Great show! A classic time in Denali. Everyone should attend!! Ambience is excellent.

The food was just okay. Family style eating. The service was provided by the actors so that was hit or miss. Uncomfortable seating. The actors were good but the script was very bad. Cabin Night was extremely overrated and overpriced. The price did not include gratuities so there was a basket passed around each table after the performance. Ten to a table and we were the only couple to put something in the basket. read more

It is expensive but it is an enjoyable experience with good food and an enjoyable show about the history of the area. Food was salmon and BBQ ribs. The performers are quality singers and good entertainers. Be warned - they may call on a couple of guests to join them on stage as part of the show. read more

This was our best experience in Denali. The food is so good and all you can eat family style! The first course is salad and rolls. The second is ribs, salmon, beans, corn, and potatoes. Dessert was probably the worst of the three - only because it could have used more sugar (a berry cobbler). After dinner, the actors/servers perform for about an hour. The music is very catchy and the atmosphere is super lively and fun. My husband was even called up to participate in a skit. It was hilarious and made the night really memorable! read more

I believe this is part of the McKinley Chalet Resort; our reservations were made in their lobby. It's down the hill close enough to walk, or you can ride a shuttle. This is a dinner theater, served family-style, with all you can eat. This was undoubtedly the best meal we had in Alaska. the barbequed ribs were tender, meaty and tasty. All the accompaniments were delicious. The berry cobbler ended the meal perfectly. I had not expected much and was surprised, delighted and full! The show was fun and entertaining as well. read more

I'll have to second the 1st review on this spot. The venue sounded cheezy but I'm glad we went! The ribs were the best I'd ever had; so tender! and all you can eat! Our servers really looked like they enjoyed what they were doing and did a good job remaining in character. I also very much liked the salmon and baked beans they served that night.
