We love coming here for our two dogs. They are priced fairly, and Dr. Puneet is excellent! He's thorough, kind, and didn't rush us out of our appointment. We've done a couple of dental cleanings here and while that can be scary with the dogs under anesthesia, I trust our dogs at Alpha.

Dr. Peet has been treating my little dog for heart disease and pancreatitis. He has great communication skills, is knowledgable and up to date, and listens to pet owners. My dog does not like going to the vet, but seems comfortable with the staff. I trust Dt. Peet, and so does my dog.

    RIP Pepper

This review is long overdue. Let me first start by saying, I have trust issues, especially when it comes to other people handling my fur children. I'm sure most pet owners feel this way, especially if you've had bad experiences with veterinarians in the past. I have to honestly say that Dr Peet is the only person that I trust when it comes to the health and well-being of my pets. He's smart, honest, and he doesn't overcharge. You can tell that he's not in this business for the money. He genuinely cares about animals and their owners so you know you're in good hands. Thanks to Dr Peet, I got to spend a long and wonderful 19 years with my cat, Pepper. Prior to finding Alpha Animal Hospital, I had taken Pepper to The Cat Hospital when she was about 14 years old for a routine checkup. I felt like they overcharged me and I was a little skeptical when the blood results came back and nobody called me to review them with me. I had to call their office and I spoke to someone at the front desk who told me over the phone that the blood work came back normal. I had asked for a copy of Pepper's medical records and decided to take her to Alpha Animal Hospital for a second opinion. During my visit with Dr Peet, he looked at Pepper's medical records and told me that she was in the early stages of kidney disease based on her blood panel. He recommended that I change her diet and start feeding her prescription food specifically designed for cats with kidney disease. He also recommended that I start giving her probiotics along with the food to slow the progression of the disease, which would add years to her life. Had I not taken Pepper to see Dr Peet for a second opinion, I don't think she would have lived for an additional 5 years. During the last year of her life when her health started to quickly decline, Dr Peet took really good care of us. Eventually, I had to start thinking about plans for euthanasia, but I wanted to find a pet clinic that offered an at home euthanasia service so that Pepper could pass away peacefully in the comfort of her own home. Dr Peet provided me with some contact information of a clinic that specialized in those services, so I made the final arrangements, but I made them a little too late. Pepper was in a lot of pain and I didn't want to wait for the euthanasia appointment that I scheduled so I rushed Pepper over to see Dr Peet so that he could quickly do the procedure and put an end to her suffering. Thankfully, he was able to squeeze in an appointment for me within a couple of hours and everything went smoothly, aside from the fact that I was an emotional wreck. This was the first time I've ever had to do something like this, and let me tell you, it's not easy. Those final moments will stay with you forever. It took me many months to heal from the pain of losing Pepper. Thankfully, Dr Peet held onto her ashes for me until I was ready to pick them up (6 months later). Since then, I've adopted a new kitten and plan on bringing another one home next month. I've already scheduled both of their wellness checkup appointments for next month at Alpha Animal Hospital so they can meet my favorite veterinarian, Dr Peet.

The staff is so caring, and I can feel how sincere they are when they provide care or ask about pets. Dr. Anthony is a fantastic doctor who gives every visit all of her focus and caring, and Naomi is always so helpful and maintains great communication. I would definitely recommend Dry Creek to anyone in the area looking for the best care for their pets. And to the staff, sincerely, thank you. Akai is my best friend. But I got the feeling he didn't like me asking so many questions, and in our most recent appointment he asked me "Any other questions...?" with a smirk, and it made me feel bad. He doesn't provide any additional information though, so if you don't ask questions you're only getting the bare minimum information. I've never had him offer up "frequently asked question" type info or context. Dr. Anthony is a different story. When explaining the differential diagnosis for my dog's symptoms, it felt like she was thinking out loud and for an extended period with no confident recommendation. I had to ask "what would you do if this were your dog?" because it wasn't clear at all from the presentation of her thoughts. The front desk staff are very nice and responsive, but availability is a problem. I called because my dog had hurt her paw and was limping, but wouldn't let me get a close look at it. They didn't have any openings for TWO WEEKS. They did offer that I could drop her off and leave her for a day so the vet could see her between other patients. But here's the catch- that option is 25% more expensive than a regular vet visit and I can't even be there to ask questions (not to mention this plan requires two trips over there). The receptionist acknowledged that they are busy and are aware of the problem (per her: they start each day with some "same day" openings but those quickly get booked) but she admitted there are no plans to address this issue.

After the appointment, I was told someone would bring a welcome kit. I waited about 30 minutes, assuming there was something else that needed to be discussed. We ended up taking him in, as we just couldn't get things under control on our own and he was clearly in a lot of pain. A technician took him back to assess him quickly, got him cleaned up, located the source of the bleeding and cleaned his wounds. And of course he was an angel for her... I received a response offering an exam appointment (which I expected), along with the soonest available opening, but no information about pricing -- not even the cost of the exam itself. I replied asking for both the exam fee and availability. They responded by booking an appointment date and time, again without answering my question about pricing. I had to follow up a third time explaining that I needed to know the cost before confirming, and I was finally told the exam would be $60, which seemed reasonable. Since it was actually my brother's dog, I sent him to the appointment. After the visit, he was quoted $1,600-$2,000 for treatment, which was unfortunately out of his budget. While that happens and isn't necessarily the issue, I was disappointed to find out he had been charged $80 for the exam instead of the $60 I was originally told. When I reached out via text, they explained they "forgot" to apply the new client discount -- something that had never been mentioned to me beforehand. They offered either a refund or to apply the difference toward future services. Since we had already found another clinic that could do the same services for around $1,200, I asked for the $20 refund back to the card. After that, I never heard back. No confirmation of the refund, no apology for the overcharge, nothing. I understand veterinary care is expensive, and it's not their fault my brother is a broke college student. But basic customer service and communication go a long way. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we won't be returning or recommending this office.
