The Palisades are coming back strong for real! First of all, the place is adorable on the outside, lots of outdoor seating, a modern yet nostalgic feel on the inside. Nailed it. Then the food is phenomenal. The cabbage salad is so much more than that, especially with all of the sweet mango & light Asian dressing, it is packed with flavor. Then the roasted chicken is so juicy with thin, crispy, well seasoned skin, and a fresh lemon squeeze to top it off. We decided for the fancy coconut rice to accompany it, which was an excellent call. The only thing is they should give you more sauce with the chicken. It was just too good!

So happy that the palisades village opened after the devastating fires. This new addition is wonderful. What a beautiful beautiful restaurant. I came here to have lunch with my husband and enjoyed it very much. The ambiance is great, the service is great, the food is great. Apustino was our waiter. He was helpful and attentive. He also surprised us with ice cream and a candle to celebrate me. It was amazing. The burger my husband ordered was delicious so was my Caesar wrap. The French fries were probably the best fries I had in a long while. Wow. Wow. Wow. I will be back again soon to try the steak frites. Overall a great place for lunch or dinner.

We had dinner here tonight and it was great! The restaurant is very pretty inside, yet feels comfy and homey. I especially loved the water goblets! We had a reservation and were seated immediately and greeted by very welcoming hostesses. Both the General Manager and the Corporate Manager were on the floor and the amount of employees was outstanding. Every need was met instantly and the employees were friendly and knowledgable. Our server, Emily, was very efficient and made our dinner an all-around good experience. We started with Arnold Palmers and a glass of Rose. The Arnold Palmers were delicious (there is a charge for refills). We had the Chicken Alphabet Soup, Warm Bread with Vermont Butter, Broccolini, Baby Back Ribs, Rotisserie Chicken, and the Chicken Caesar Wraps. We also had the Vanilla and Chocolate Caramel Sundae. Everything tasted perfect and we all enjoyed our dinners.

It's about time Los Angeles had a new restaurant that was not overpriced, but actually affordable with delicious food and good service. If you've been to the other hwood group restaurants you know how good they are now add the beautiful ambience of Palisades Village with delicious chicken, ribs and burgers. Everything was fantastic. The only tiny thing I did not like were the catchup in the little bottles but at least their Heinz so who cares.

Greeted by our very kind waiter, we were served the most delicious toasted bread, butter(s) and rock salt from La Boulangerie. As a film nut, of course I ordered the Cinema Paradiso, this is a very imaginative cocktail recipe, like a an Old Fashioned but with a movie theater twist, kindly served with a pinch of candy kettle-corn at our table by the mixologist herself; what a playful and tasty delight! For starters, we are ordered the Mini-French-Onion Grilled Cheese and Hamachi Crudo. Both absolutely delicious. The Hamachi Crudo Leche de Tigre sauce is beyond perfect. The balance of flavors between charriness of the bread and melted cheeses, and tangy onion soup dip...just wow. Then the steak! Accompanied by a delicious Châteauneuf-du-Pape, we shared between two, a perfectly cooked (medium rare of course, don't be basic) N.Y. Strip (au poivre sauce on the side) with au gratin, and it came with nice little on the vine roasted tomatoes and a little leafy salad...like I told Chef when he came to our table post meal: "INCROYABLE!". Every-Single-Bite!! But, aside every dish being perfect and the service being above and beyond, what literally brought me to tears was the dessert. I haven't had "floating islands" since my mom used to make it many, many moons ago (unfortunately ma is now at early dementia), and when I tasted my first spoonful here, I couldn't hold back the tears, memories flooded and complimented by the preceding meal which was perfect...too many feels. Merci Beaucoup! For a VERY special culinary experience to all at La Monique. Please don't change a thing. I rarely ever make the effort to write a review, but this is very much worth every second. We'll be coming back for sure. Feel like I just discovered fire.

This is completely unacceptable and feels like fraud. To make things worse, the food was completely average -- nothing special at all and definitely not worth the prices they charge. I've never experienced anything like this, even at the most basic places. This is beyond unprofessional and extremely disappointing. I would strongly advise others to double-check their receipts and statements after visiting this restaurant.

I was instantly so glad we chose this spot to celebrate our anniversary because it was the perfect setting for a romantic date night. Now, let's talk about the food! Everything we ordered was delicious, with the exception of the Korean aguachiles, which we probably could've skipped. We also tried the bluefin bibimbap, oysters, and the oh-so-tender short rib that practically melted in our mouths. But the most unforgettable dish was also the simplest: the Korean fried chicken. It wasn't necessarily something out of the ordinary, but it sure tasted like it. The perfect crisp, flavor, and seasoning had us eating every last piece right down to the bone. Our server also made the experience even better. She gave us some of the best recommendations and were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the entire meal. For dessert, we had the BINGSOO. We probably could have skipped either the tuna bibimbap or the steak tartare since both came with rice, which we didn't realize when ordering. If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the steak tartare--it was my favorite. The bingsoo was pretty much what I expected: a nice, refreshing way to end the meal. Wouldn't order it again.  ENJOY! PS: There is valet parking, but I was able to find street metered parking!

Most of the bars are dive bars in downtown Santa Monica, and parking is quite accessible for this place. So I'd recommend for that reason. In terms of the drinks, I'm a huge fan of cocktail but I would say their menu selections are a bit limited. Nothing in the signature cocktail looks interesting to me, so I had the bartender make a classic cocktail instead. He's very attentive and friendly, didn't take forever to get a drink either, no attitude. Drinks aren't watered down either. Nice! You come here to grab quick drinks when you don't feel like being at a loud dive bar in the area, it's in a hotel but not too upscale, no strict dress code. Music is not loud and they have couches and booth if bar table if not your thing, you don't have to yell or pretend you hear everything to hold a conversation here (lol). ** Keep in mind 20% gratuity is automatically included in bill, it's my first time here. But I think I've other spots I'd prefer to be in, even at Santa Monica. Wouldn't be self-motivated to come back because there are better places that specialises mixology, and there are also better upscale hotel bars to be at. But if you're around the area it's a great intimate bar for date night that's not overly pricey. Wouldn't travel all the way to here just for this (if you know what I mean).

Our server, Murray, was so patient with us and was amazing all around. We were very indecisive and he gave us great recommendations, and was attentive, welcoming, and when needed, gave us our space to enjoy the meal. Thank you, Murray! We started with the Rye me a River cocktail and the Mezcal cocktail which were both perfect for our tastes. My mezcal drink was beautiful with a black salt rim and beautiful Smokey flavor (along with the word Chelsea spelled out on my ice cube). My friend loved his Rye me a River cocktail. For food, we started with the oysters and lobster sliders which I don't get a picture of, but they were both great!!! The lobster sliders were actually my favorite bite of the whole meal. My friend devoured the oysters, he loved them so much. We then had the boar ragu tagliatelle which was excellent. It was sweeter than most ragus that I've had, but that was my friend's favorite dish of the whole night. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly, absolutely perfectly, and the pistachio crust was delicious. We ordered steak frites and asked that the fries be truffle fries, which they kindly accommodated. So glad we asked because the truffle fries were delicious, they came with a cilantro dipping sauce that was delectable! The steak itself was cooked perfectly, and the gravy accompaniment was an excellent complement to the steak. We also got the peanut butter and chocolate turnover for my friend's birthday. Yall, it was SO good! It really exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be back! My friend was so happy with his birthday meal!! We found street parking, but they do have valet if you need it as well. The interior of the restaurant is lovely, great for a date night. They have dimmer lighting, and great booths and tables throughout the space. The bar is beautiful and has a small tv screen in case you want to watch something but it's small enough and out of the way that it's not distracting at all if you don't want to watch any sporting event.

The Golden Bull in Santa Monica is one such classic stalwart, serving Santa Monica Canyon for over 75 years (nearly as long as McDonald's has been in existence). Over the decades, this seaside chophouse has been synonymous with a mean steak and a stiff cocktail; even a recent renovation and change in ownership stayed true to the Golden Bull's core. Now, the Golden Bull remains one of the most highly recommended steakhouses in LA. Waves are crashing across Pacific Coast Highway just blocks away. Outside, the prior parking lot has been converted into a breezy street-ery. The moody interior feels straight out of an episode of Mad Men, apart from the 90s pop echoing around the room. White-linen tables are pressed up to reupholstered leather booths. The dark wooden walls are decorated with historic black-and-white photographs and portraits. A blue-toned tropical aquarium serves as the centerpiece of the trim backlit bar. I visited with my family for weekend "Golden Hour," and the space was mostly deserted. We ordered dinner and drinks across both the happy hour and standard menus. The sleeper hit of our meal was the Buttermilk Onion Rings. These rich, shoestring-style rings were plenty capable as a standalone side, but they were enhanced by the tangy garlic aioli and zingy chipotle mayo. The crispy, skin-on Garlic Herb French Fries were no slouch, either, as a sidekick to the onion rings. The other happy hour specials were less memorable; the Canyon Caesar was mostly standard, while the Fried Calamari was crispy but dry and underseasoned. The 16oz NY Strip was on the fatty side, but the deliciously seasoned, well-cooked meat never for a second needed a drop of steak sauce. The French Onion Soup was heavy on Gruyere and bageutte while curiously light on onion. The Creamed Spinach was hardly creamy or cheesy, and the spinach was unseasoned. Lastly, my Old Fashioned was stiff and otherwise standard. The service was sluggish but friendly. The happy hour prices were plenty reasonable, while the steak alone approached $70. Not all of the items were hits, but collectively, our meal was a success. In the future, I will be sure to re-order the onion rings, while I may venture further into the Golden Bull's delectable steak lineup.
