The moment I stepped into this restaurant, I immediately fell in love with the decor. We went around sunset, and the golden-hour lighting made the space even more beautiful. I was instantly so glad we chose this spot to celebrate our anniversary because it was the perfect setting for a romantic date night. Now, let's talk about the food! Everything we ordered was delicious, with the exception of the Korean aguachiles, which we probably could've skipped. We also tried the bluefin bibimbap, oysters, and the oh-so-tender short rib that practically melted in our mouths. But the most unforgettable dish was also the simplest: the Korean fried chicken. The Mulberry is a cool, modern, more upscale Korean fine dining restaurant. The vibes are definitely more date night - dark, moody, candlelit, and loud. My friend and I ordered the soy marinated prawns, beef tartare stone pot rice, creamy chicken soup, Wagyu beef soft tofu soup. The prawns were nicely marinated in a slightly sweet slightly salty soy sauce, and came paired with some barley and seaweed to make mini wraps. Delicious and a nice way to start the meal. The creamy chicken soup was indeed very creamy and smooth but the bowl is really small and would've been better with a higher soup to noodle ratio since the noodles soaked up the yummy soup. The tofu soup was surprisingly bland even though it was very red. It could've used more umami flavor or spice - something to jazz it up since the tofu, egg, and beef itself were not seasoned. My favorite dish of the night was the steak tartare stone pot rice. It came with a lot of veggies that helped balance out the sauce and I'm a sucker for crispy rice. However, the rice itself wasn't seasoned thoroughly as some spots had absolutely delicious sauce while other spots were bland. And the sauce wasn't a part of the tartare on top so it wasn't a mixing issue. Pretty good meal overall!! The chicken wings had a really crisp exterior and a great crunch, but they did lean a little dry - but honestly felt like the trade off for getting them that crispy! The sauce helped bring some juiciness back and balanced it out. The bluefin tuna bibimbap was pretty enjoyable. The tuna tasted fresh and the textures worked well together, but the dish could have used a little more seasoning to make the flavors pop. The perilla was a great touch though. I've wanted to try this place for a while and finally convinced my husband to go with me. Cocktails were twists on classics, but with Asian/korean liquor. I got a pink lady which was tasty. The bartender recommended the hen of the woods rice cakes. I love rice cakes so this was a highlight. We also had the short ribs with the ssam/lettuce side. The short ribs came with a delicious tangy dipping sauce. We had wanted to get the wagyu burger but they were sold out. Apparently only make 8 a night. I will need to come back to try this. My friend got a reservation here the other night and begged me go. I know it's a tough one to get so I went- seriously intending just to have a drink. No really, I did. We love Korean food but really were not intending to eat much. I ordered the Pink Lady cocktail and my friend ordered the Flower Sour (good if you like very sour!) then could not help myself. Our server recommended the Fried Chicken Wings. I cannot ever refuse fried chicken so I gave in. (We got two orders!) The wings were outstanding! Trendy vibes with pretty pricey Korean food. Went for a weekend dinner. Had a reservation and was sat immediately. The restaurant was very busy and had pretty nice decor - could see people liking the spot for brunch vibes. Ordered their banana milk cocktail, an old fashioned, and Manhattan. The drinks were all very solid, not too sweet but not super boozy either. Ordered the following: - kimchi pancake (pretty solid, definitely on the thicker side) - acorn noodle (pretty good, can definitely taste the perilla oil) - tofu stew (your standard soon tofu soup) - beef short rib (a bit too fatty, a quarter of the dish was cut up fat) - hotteok (had a weird after taste and was not sweet at all) I was really disappointed with the hotteok, I've read others praising it but it wasn't sweet and had a bitter taste at the end of each bite. There was ice cream paired with it, but was not looking to mask the flavor of the hotteok. Additionally, although this a no-tipping establishment, there is a 20% "fee" on what you order. This money does not necessarily go to the wait staff. Although it's on the bottom of the menu, it's pretty poor form - prices of the dishes should be fully transparent to the customer. Each dish's price should basically be 20% higher. Overall, the quality of the cocktails couldn't make up for the pricing of the food. There are plenty of Korean establishments in Koreatown with similar quality food at half the price. The hotteok was also a big miss. The Mulberry on Sawtelle has transformed Plan Check's old space into a cute and cozy spot with great food. The staff is very attentive. Stand out dishes for me were the beef tartare bibimbap and acorn noodles. Fries were cooked to perfection, crispy outside and warm on the inside. I can't wait to go back to try more of the menu. My favorite dishes were the steak tartare with crispy rice and the hen mushrooms (salty but good flavor). I'd pass on the kimchi pancake. It's small and very thick and salty. Hottoek (fried pancake with brown sugar and sunflower filling) was not the best but it's worth trying especially if you haven't had it before. The ice cream and caramel sauce it comes with are very good. We went for our anniversary. They put a candle on our dessert plate but we did pay for the dessert. Got to try a relatively new restaurant (opened Nov '25) in Sawtelle the other night, and it turned into a delightful dinner. The kitchen is led by Curtis Park, a former chef from the three-Michelin-starred Benu in San Francisco. The concept is to bring modern Korean bistro-style offerings to the Sawtelle district. The space has a laid-back vibe with a variety of seating options--bar, community table, and booths. There's also a covered outdoor seating area in the back. We tried a few items, but the highlights were the acorn noodles (salted cucumber, toasted nori, perilla oil) and the short rib. The noodles had a great chewy texture with a refreshing flavor profile. The beef short rib was incredibly tender, rich, and savory--definitely reinforcing my belief that meat closest to the bone tastes the best. The bluefin tuna bibimbap (trout roe, crisp vegetables, rice) tasted fresh, with a well-balanced ratio of ingredients that made it a solid dish. The fried chicken wings (half plain, half soy garlic + sweet chili sauce) are their highly rated Korean-American take on crispy wings. I'd come back just for these--they're easy to get hooked on. One dish we didn't order but will try next time is the soy-marinated blue prawns with pollock roe, barley rice, and dried seaweed. It sounded intriguing, but with a party of three... decisions, decisions. Parking in Sawtelle is tough, so be careful with street parking--some spots are residents-only. Parking: street parking can be rough to find during peak dinner time on weekends but not bad early evening on weekdays Reservations: Limited availability on Resy makes it seem harder to get though we were able to make one. Tables looked available around 5pm though so walk-ins could be possible. Ambiance: Outside was nice and inside looked dimly lit and romantic. We were seated promptly and service was good. Food: Rice slushy had a strangely strong cinnamon-like taste to it that traditional rice punch doesn't have which was so overpowering, it made it difficult to go back for more sips. Oysters - good though small, enjoyed the kelp mignonette Korean Aguachile - Delicate tilefish completely overwhelmed by cold kimchi broth with actual icy slush in it and small amounts of fish Steak Tartare - The hot stone bowl seemed to defeat the purpose of a tartare, as it cooked the steak once mixed. The perilla leaves were also cut in large strips relative to the beef. Chilled Acorn Noodle - The perilla oil was nonexistent in flavor though the dish didn't need it and was good without. I've been DYING to try The Mulberry, but this is definitely one of those places where you need to plan ahead and make a reservation! Since it's summer, I was so happy we sat on the patio instead of inside. We went around 7:45 PM and there was the perfect little breeze, which made the whole dinner even better. Everyone who works here is genuinely a vibe -- super chill, friendly, and welcoming. Alec was our server and we vibed from the jump! Now for the food because we ORDERED: Pacific oysters on the half shell -- honestly, you can skip these. Nothing wrong with them, but there are way more interesting things on the menu. Korean aguachile -- SO unique. The flounder was incredibly fresh and it came swimming in this cold kimchi broth that was tangy, refreshing, and almost gave me spicy water naengmyeon vibes. Crispy kimchi pancake -- a fan favorite at the table. The basil leaves layered on top added this unexpected burst of flavor, and there was a little mala element that gave the whole thing so much dimension. Chicken wings -- fried PERFECTLY. If you're only getting one thing from the small plates, I'd go with the wings. Chilled acorn noodles -- DO NOT SLEEP ON THESE!! Stone pot steak tartare -- my #1!!! The raw beef mixed into the rice was already amazing, but then you get that crispy rice at the bottom to soak up every last bit of flavor left in the bowl. So good. Beef short rib -- HOLY COW. Cooked to medium rare perfection. You absolutely need to order the assorted lettuces with it and make little wraps. One of the highlights of the entire meal. We finished with the strawberry bingsu and hotteok, which honestly made for the perfect dessert combo. Also, a little tip: corkage is only $30, so if you have a bottle of wine you've been saving or wanting to try, DEFINITELY bring it to dinner. Overall, vibes were HIGH. As a Korean, I loved seeing familiar Korean flavors used in ways that still felt creative and unexpected. The Mulberry gets the full recognition and stars it deserves from me, and I'll absolutely be back. The only thing that left us a little confused was the bill. There's a 20% service charge added, but it states that it isn't a tip and that they're a no-tipping establishment. We were also told that the service charge doesn't go directly to the staff, which made us wonder where exactly that 20% goes. I'd personally love a little more transparency around that. If you really appreciate your server, you can always ask if they have Venmo because Alec definitely deserved the love! read more

Absolutely LOVE this place. The Mulberry is a very warm and intimate place where you can enjoy modern Korean comfort food. All dishes are carefully crafted with its colorful details, and its simple but bold flavors prepared for you through an open kitchen. This place gets busy the minute they open their doors so make reservations prior. 1. Korean Aguachile: fresh tilefish sashimi with finely sliced cucumber and white floral decor simmered in ice cold kimchee broth they pour at the table. Soooo good. Must order. 2. Soy Marinade Blue Prawn: My favorite dish of the night. Huge raw blue prawns (head attached) marinaded with soy sauce. Served with barley rice topped with Ssam jang (type of bean paste sauce), and seaweed paper. You wrap all ingredients in the seaweed paper to make a hand roll. Soooooo delicious. Can't walk out without trying this. 3. Beef short ribs: good but nothing unique in its flavoring . Beef steak(medium rare and super tender) that's lightly marinaded/glazed (so not overly sweet) with kbbq/short rib sauce. This is one of their fan favorites so I suggest you try it.. 4. Chilled Acorn Noodles: chewy cOLD noodles made with acorn (just like the acorn jelly side dish we eat). The noodles are seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu-jang (Gochujang paste), crispy cucumber slices, loads of dried seaweed flakes, and perilla oil. And you just mix them all together. Sooo good and paired well with the short ribs. Incredible. 5. Bluefin tuna and trout Bibimbop: like a poke bowl but so much better. Rice at the bottom with loads of lettuce strips, bluefin tuna sashimi, radish slices, and cavier. Seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu jang (Gochujang paste with a twist of vinegar). Very good as well. For drinks we tried the shikhye slush (shikhye is a Korean sweet rice drink dessert). They used a slushy shikhye base with warm cinnamon and ginger spices and pisco for a kick. Also tried the Sujinggwa manhattan which is sujunggwa (traditional Korean cinnamon ginger dessert tea served cold) and a single malt. This was fabulous. Overall fantastic experience. The Mulberry is one of LA's extra trendy modern Korean food joints, and I was lucky enough to snag a coveted reservation. With a chic saloon vibe and very attentive service, you just know you're going to be in for a treat from the moment you enter. So did the food live up to the hype? Pretty much! Everything was presented beautifully, which, you know... the eyes eat first. But the range of flavors went from "nice" to "oh my gawd". My favorite, by far, was the short rib ("oh my gawd"). Perfectly tender, with a slight chew, and a very subtle sweetness that elevated the meat. I'm drooling just thinking about it. My table was having a hard time being polite over that last bite, but I was lucky enough to snag it because we all ate too much, and I was willing to go over that edge. Other standouts included the steak tartare bibimbap (don't mix the meat in), the exceptionally crisp and savory Korean fried chicken, the puchy and texturally divine kimchi pancake, and the acorn noodles with its refreshing, umami and heat union. Also, the cheesecake was so creamy and kind of blew my mind. Definitely my favorite dessert. The hotteok was crispy and tasty but not as memorable in this case (more filling would make a difference). The virgin sikhe slushie was also incredibly refreshing. While I enjoyed everything I ate, I'd focus on these favorites for my next visit. The cherry on top though was our amazing server! I especially appreciated how attentive the staff was, they offered to replace plates before we even had to ask, which made the whole experience feel seamless and thoughttul. We ordered quite a variety marinated blue prawn, kimchi pancake, steamed dumplings, fried chicken, tofu soup, beef short rib, acorn noodles, beef tartare hot stone, and pork ribs. So I'd book outdoor seatings next time to avoid the stuffiness inside. They said they were fully booked on a Thursday night so we sat at the bar but there was a table for 2 empty the WHOLE TIME we were there. Maybe they needed to do better with managing tables and bookings? Food highlights were the acorn noodles and the beef tartar bibimbap. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly (10/10). I was so excited when I finally got a dinner reservation at The Mulberry on Sawtelle It's at the very end in a couple blocks further than the main row of restaurants but this new gym in the heart of this amazing Asian culinary neighborhood, is such a great spot for an intimate meal with friends or date night Everything we ordered was a complete 10 out of 10.. from presentation, flavor, and quality of ingredients. For me the stellar items for the short rib main dish, the corn noodles and the most surprising dish marinated prawn starter. It was my friend's birthday and so I arranged for them to surprise her with one of their desserts in a candle which was such a nice touch to our meal. What an amazing experience at The Mulberry. I'll be the first to admit that Korean fine dining usually isn't my go to for the Korean experience. Mainly because Korean food is predominately street food. But wow did Mulberry knock my socks off. We started off with the kimchi pancake and the fluffy egg. Immaculate. The flavors and the textures of the two dishes were phenomenal. For the mains we had the spicy black cod as well as the short rib. The cod was a nice homage to braised cod which is typically a stew. Slight heat but on the sweet side as well. The steak was cooked to perfection. I'm assuming it was sous vide and then finished off on the grill. The glaze they had on the steak was sweet and savory. Perfection. For dessert we had the sorbet and the hotteok. Both desserts made for an amazing end to an amazing meal. If you decide to stop by, definitely try to book a reservation a few days in advance. We came right when it opened and got extremely lucky and was able to get a table. The staff were amazing and the owner of the restaurant made his rounds to all his guests that evening. He made sure everything was perfect. read more

A lot of restaurants like this only imitate Korean food, but this one serves the real deal. As a Korean, though, I think it's overpriced for the portion sizes. They do know what they are doing from a service perspective. Drink orders arrive quickly, and food is served fairly fast. We knew what we wanted before going. Korean Pancake, Wings, Dumplings, Acorn Noodles and Short Ribs.  Korean Pancake - small and just ok flavor. The sauce was good, but for $17, you could get a giant, better tasting pancake almost anywhere else. Fried Chicken Wings - probably one of the two stars of the night--had a fantastic crust and were very plump and juicy. Sauce and pickles were excellent and you get two types of wings with each order, both were excellent.  Acorn Noodles - a very good mix of flavors, good nori, the hard-boiled egg (a surprise) was good--expensive for $22Steamed Dumplings - well made and cooked well, but the lackluster sauce served with them didn't help. A well-crafted dumpling that needs a much more flavorful sauce to accompany it.  Beef Short Ribs - The other star on the menu, along with the wings. Very tender and great taste. Use the salt! We ordered the extras which you don't have to do. Small piece for $49. It's a No Tip restaurant so you get the automatic 20% charge - which I did not mind. Pay the help. Our bill came to $200 for a meal that was probably worth $100.You can go to some of the AYCE Korean BBQ places and get better quality, more food and be happier. I came here for dinner because I heard lots of positive things. Unfortunately the food was mid. We got the oysters to start and these were probably the smallest oysters I have ever seen in my life. And for that price point? Absurd. Then we got the chilled acorn noodles. These were decent. We also got two mains: fried chicken and the short rib. The short rib had fantastic flavor but it was more fat than meat. Literally half of each piece was inedible because it was just fat. The fried chicken was probably my favorite dish. Where do I begin? The Mulberry is INCREDIBLE and needs to be added to your list of places to try immediately! We walked in on a Saturday night around 7pm and while we were estimated a 45-60 minute wait, it really only ended up being about 30 which was awesome! The decor inside is beautiful, and the vibes and ambiance were just perfect. We were seated at the bar, but on the end which was more of a low chef's table with bench seating and it was perfect. I honestly think I'd prefer that over the main seating or regular bar. We had a view of the kitchen and could see all the action, and had our own little private table feeling even though we were sitting at the bar. Truly everything we ordered was amazing. We started with the caesar salad which was one of the best I've had. We also got a side of the kimchi which was delicious. The kimchi pancake was really good, but compared to everything else, was the least exciting of what we ordered. The dumplings were perfect, and the steak tartare was amazing. I loved that the longer it was in the dish, the rice got crispy and the steak tartare almost cooked itself. It was DELICIOUS. The star of the show, however, was the short rib. This was truly one of the best things I've ever had. I will be dreaming about that dish and can't wait to come back! Overall 5 stars and absolutely perfect. I went to this place because my friends saw overhyped reels about it. I looked at the menu and omg the food sounds so ordinary. Kimchi pancakes, chicken wings, I could get these anywhere else. We booked from Resy and the booking was hard to get. I don't know why. Free parking could easily be found one block each way at the freeway or the school. Do not waste your $12 to park here. What I like is the nice, romantic and cute atmosphere but that's it. Server spilled radish water on my friend's shirt when took the dish away. My friend thought she'd come back with a towel or so but nothing. I was gonna give this place 3 stars but my friend said they deserve 2 stars. Now for the food: Aguachile 2/5. It is so tiny. It comes with 6 tiny pieces of fish (1x1in^2 max). Chilled Acorn Noodle 2/5. According to my friend who is from South Korea, the perilla oil is supposed to hit super strongly. But we couldn't taste the oil at all. My friend knew it was hard to find perilla oil so she was skeptical to begin with. But I went ahead and order so she shared with me. Steak tartare 1/5. Steak tartare is supposed to be raw. But when it comes in a hot stone to mix as bibimbap, the steak got cooked quickly and became well done the moment it touched the hot stone. No more steak tartare. Who designed this dish? Because it is just beef bibimbap at this point. We weren't supposed to mix it but it comes as a bibimbap. Rice tea slushy 1/5. Is this horchata fusion or what because it has way too much cinnamon. Rice slushy doesn't have cinnamon. It tastes so strange but in a bad way. Overall all of us will not come back. read more

Struggling to even make the reservation, it felt so satisfying finally able to try The Mulberry! We've been so intrigued knowing they're serving Korean fusion dishes. Still on soft opening, the menu selection was indeed bit limited but still decent list to choose from. The venue itself was more into classic elegant theme with covered patio by the side. Smaller group certainly worked better here knowing how new it's and obviously everyone's racing to try so it's busy even on weekdays. We had our reservation and still had to wait for roughly 10 minutes past our reservation time before we got seated. The server was fortunately friendly and accommodating. Just heads up, they're no-tipping policy but you'd be directly charged 18% on the bill. We tried their popular beef ribs along with souffle egg and got extra veggies and rice on the side just like how you typically went for kbbq (we knew this wasn't exactly same but don't judge us! LOL). The souffle egg was honestly okay to skip, nothing in particular to highlight and price was certainly steep for what you got. The ribs were must-try though, just like what everyone's raving about. It's balanced between lean meat and fat, cooked medium, serving tender and succulent beef slices that the picture didn't justify. Enjoying it with the salad side was surely perfect pairing. If you're into alcohol pairing and wanna go more Korean themed, you could try their soju and makgeolli selections. We went for their Sang Makgeolli, which was indeed lighter than typical Korean one, but satisfying enough. read more

The Mulberry has been hyped up by so many influencers and has given Korean food connoisseurs a new modern option to look forward to. However, I felt that the overall food selection and execution fell below my expectations. We started off strong with the banana milk and the flower sour cocktails followed by Korean Aguachile and Chilled Acorn Noodle (도토리국수, dotori guksu) for appetizers. Then came the main entrees, Bluefin Tuna Bibimbap and Steak Tartare in a Stone Pot. The bibimbap didn't feel like a well conceived dish as the large thick pieces of tuna, large cut perilla and lettuce leaves, large purple radish slices, unseasoned rice needed something else to bring it all together. The steak tartare felt flashy and lost in its expression of Korean heritage. The steak was outwardly cooked by the hot stone bowl but still raw inside, creating an unappetizing texture of ground beef strings as if it were just out of the meat grinder. We finished the night well with a Hotteok a la Mode. I'm hoping that The Mulberry will revamp their main entree menu in the future, but I probably wouldn't revisit in the near future. Online reservations are definitely needed. Street parking is limited as usual on Sawtelle. Valet parking is available. 20% tip is already included in your check. Good variety of food including different proteins, veggies, noodles, rice, soups, desserts, and large drink menu. Dishes are relatively small. For our group of 4, we got 8 dishes and a dessert. This was slightly over-ordering for us, but we wanted to try so much. Kimchi pancake: this was okay. What made it good was the herbs and sauce. Could have gone without this one. Chicken wings: solid. Enjoyed it. Liked that half were original and half were like glazed and had sesame seeds. Comes with sauces. I believe we got 8 total pieces. The crunch was nice and not oily. Chicken noodle soup: this was a simple, clean bowl of noodles in a clear-ish broth. Came with chicken slices and wood ear mushroom. Can add gochujang. I wasn't wowed, personally but I appreciate the quality of ingredients. Comes with pickled radish. I wouldn't get again, personally. Beef tartar bowl: basically a bimbimbap. This was solid and substantial. The crispy rice that the stone pot creates is great, and adds good texture. Also comes with an egg yolk on top which looked like a good quality egg. Pork spare rib: tender and flavorful. This was good and went well with the bimbinbap. Came with a small side salad which was great. Beef: so good. Cooked perfectly. Melt in your mouth. Comes with the same salad as the pork spare rib, as well as extra sauce that it was marinated in. Ssam: veggie platter that the waitress recommended to eat with the beef. Comes with iceberg lettuce, perilla, endive, cucumber, and ssam dip. The ssam is so salty, so a little goes a long way. We could have gone without this, personally. But veggies were in general crisp and refreshing. Egg soufflé: sooooo puffy. I see this as a take on the typical steamed egg that you see at Korean restaurants. Flavorful. Solid. Each dish came with something paired with it like a sauce or white kimchi or pickled radish or jalapeno. Grapefruit nonalcoholic soda was refreshing and tasty. Hoettok: like a pancake filled with cinnamon and sugar, then pan fried. Came with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle. This was nice but the pancake needed to be filled more. It could be waaay better if it had like 25-50% more filling. Service: excellent. No complaints. Note the gratuity is automatically included. Check the fine print of the receipt/menu. Seating: indoor had bar seating, booths, tables. I think a party of 4 is optimal but I could see the accommodating 6 alright. Larger parties will be harder. There's also outside patio seating, which is where we sat. Ambiance: cozy, book-ish, low lights, intimate. Loved it. Overall: tbh the food is a 3. Very very mid. Like don't go in with high expectations for the food. But between the experience, service, ambiance, the whole package, I can give it a 4. Like, it's enjoyable and nothing was bad. Every dish came out suuuper fresh, like steaming hot. They bring out at a gradual pace too, so they'll clear dishes and then serve the next order. I've been trying to get a reservation here since it opened so I was excited to finally get to try it! The Mulberry is a cozy, intimate restaurant with limited seating. Great Korean-inspired dishes. My favorite was definitely the acorn noodle - loved the chewy texture of the noodle, and the perilla oil and seaweed gave the dish a clean, refreshing flavor. I got the Sikhye Slushie, which was tasty, though wish it tasted more like sikhye. All in all though, I would love to come back to try the rest of the menu. read more

It's takes a lot to get me west of the 405 but The Mulberry did just that. And what a great neighborhood! When I was living in Westwood in the 90s this was just West LA. Now this section of Sawtelle is Japantown and they've really got a cool vibe going here. The Mulberry is Korean influenced and the flavors were some of the best I've had in a while! Don't miss out on the kimchi pancakes or silken tofu stew with wagyu. These you must try! Looking forward to trying this place again. I really wanted to try their burger, but they didn't have it at all, even though I found out they only make 8 a night, which means you need to come during first seating. It's a small restaurant with patio seating. I liked the Caesar salad; it was unique, and the dressing was great. The beef short rib was very good and flavorful, and the side sauce/wasabi it came with was very good. The hotteok à la mode dessert was very unique it's similar to a pancake, it's caramelized cinnamon and comes with vanilla ice cream, and was very good and not very sweet. Such a fun & sexy new spot! If you can get a resy you must go. They are still in soft opening stages since they are only a month old but keep the bar open for walk ins. Drinks were the Negroni & which was unique - fresh and light. I would order this again. Also the Cabernet by the glass was solid & went well with the food. The food is a perfect balance between traditional Korean cuisine and toned down enough for all folks to enjoy. I loved walking in to see the crowded restaurant full of possible first timers. I've been thinking about the Korean aguachile nonstop. Never tasted anything like it. Absolute perfection. The other dishes we ordered, the steak tartar stone pot and acorn noodles were fine, nothing really stood out. Even though we waited a few minutes to mix the contents of the steak tartar bibimbop, all the meat just ended up cooking.. I really wasn't a fan of that. It felt like eating a normal ground beef bibimbop. The vibes were pretty and warm. I'd definitely like to come back next time to try the other dishes off the menu. Ps. I had really high hopes for the sujunggwa manhattan because I love sujungwa, but I was a little disappointed as the flavors were lacking. I was very excited to try this new Korean place in Sawtelle, we waited for about an hour on a Friday night and got a walk in. The highlight was the ambiance and moody feel. However, the food was extremely disappointing and the service was not so great. We talked to our waiter maybe one time before he disappeared for the rest of the night, and we were not checked on at all. The place needs to work out some kinks to run smoother. The food itself was very bland, tasteless, or was confusing.
