Once again, this place is as special as ever! Warm and friendly staff, food so delicious, it makes you get every morsel from the plate! The beer is European, and they have wines and cocktails from Europe as well. I got the hot brie plate with walnuts, apples and onions, and some clear, magic sauce that tied it all together! What a delicious way to eat! There is no place like this in Gainesville. Ambience, old world charm and I'll be back...maybe tomorrow :)) (I talked to the owner, and there is no sauce on the hot brie plate. It's just liquid from the cheese and fruit...wow!!)

Group of eight girls, sat us right away for our reservation. One of the best espresso martinis I've ever had! Mimosas were awesome too! The food was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. If I lived here I would easily come here all the time. Drinks took a little long but were worth the wait! All the girls that took care of us were very nice!

OMG I have not been to Alpine in probably almost 10 years! I was told about their matcha martini and I just had to go! OMG the staff, so nice and wonderful-just very hospitable! Ray-one of the bartenders there was so cool! I wanted the matcha martini but nonalcoholic and she perfected it! She had never made a nonalcoholic one before but she did AMAZING!!!! It was delicious! Even my friend who hates matcha-actually got one (but with alcohol) loved it! We definitely will be coming back for more and especially for food. We didn't get to eat anything food but their menu looks amazing! It's a small restaurant inside but spacious and it appears they have an outdoor space which looked nice, we sat at the bar which was great because we were able to chat to the staff! It wasn't too busy either!

Decided to check out this French restaurant located in Downtown. Parking can be a bit challenging but there is a paid parking lot option right across the restaurant (50 cents for 30 min). The restaurant has a cozy vibe and good for casual hangout/date. On Wednesdays, the wines are buy one get one free (can be mixed) and they have a good selection of affordable French wines, so would recommend utilizing the deal. Overall, the sandwich was solid and salad was very fresh. French onion soup had a bit too much cheese and less broth, but still tasty and served hot. Recommend checking this out when you are craving solid sandwich option or want to hang out casually for the night.

Taking a much needed break, we ran off to Gainesville, FL (about 40 minutes from home) and wanted to explore some we chose Alpin Bistro in downtown Gainesville. It was a Tuesday night, so we did not worry about crowds. We were seated right away and took our time looking thru the French cuisine based menu. Our table was tucked away from most of the dining room, so it was fairly intimate through no request from us. Perfect! We each ordered a Tapas one a balsamic Brie and the other a chorizo flambé made from pigs at least two years old, who had feasted on acorns (I don't make this up - that's what the menu said). Both were absolutely delicious! Four our entrees, we had the Croque Forestier and the Croque Saumon! Divine! Neither one of us could finish our meals but a pistachio creme brûlée had to be ordered. I wasn't too thrilled with that, but my wife enjoyed it. An excellent outing! Truly delicious!

I cannot believe I haven't left a review for Alpin yet! We love this place so so much! The food tastes intentional made with real and delicious ingredients. The staff is incredible, always welcoming and the bartender makes amazing drinks. Moving from LA to Ocala this place feels we are in Silver Lake or Los Feliz. The atmosphere is a vibe, happy and relaxed. They have an outdoor patio but we always sit at the bar.

The food here was absolutely delicious! While it is quite pricey, I had plenty of leftovers for a second meal so it was definitely worth it. I ordered Le Croque Forestier, and it was so tasty. The ingredients tasted high quality, and it was loaded with them! The side salad was a nice addition as well since it is a heavier dish. The ambiance is very nice and cozy as well. The service was great and fairly quick. I will definitely be back to try more items!

While the service was a bit slow, the server's knowledge of the specials really helped. I got the Norwegienne crepe, which featured salmon, goat cheese, onion, capers, and egg--albeit a little too dill-heavy, though it did complement the goat cheese. The Croque Madam was good but was a bit heavy in sauce and cheese. The egg would have been better if it was soft boiled. The Parisienne crepe was just okay. The interior is cute, featuring a large communal table in the middle along with more private outdoor seating. Prices were reasonable, and I loved the mix of savory and sweet options--definitely planning to try one of the sweet dishes next time.

Dropped in for a light brunch when in downtown Gainesville. Yelp said it closed but this Sunday it was open. I chose a small plate Ricotta Cup with French bread and a glass of red blend wine. It was wonderful and hit the spot. Wait staff is excellent. Ambience casual for brunch. Indoor, outdoor and bar seating available. Looking forward to returning for dinner. Prices very reasonable.

Alpin is probably one of my top five favorites restaurants in Gainesville. Alpin has a small, but delightful menu with a large assortment of fancier sandwiches (Croque monsieur variations), soups, and salads. They also have a great wine and cocktail selection, and a happy hour cheese and wine special. The desserts are phenomenal, with my favorites being the seasonal crème brûlées. Service is also good, but be aware it's a smaller space and you might have a wait.

A cute French restaurant, perfect for date night. The staff is friendly. Open kitchen in the middle of the restaurant. The croque de madame and monsieur sandwiches were amazing. The charcuterie board is amazing with choice of gruyere cheese and Brie with fresh fruit (pear, strawberry and grapes). Happy hour from 4-7 PM with discounted wine and small plates. Highly recommend.

So far I've made it to the Italian and Georgian tastings, and both have been a lot of fun. The place is really laid back. Great ambiance, soothing background music, and it's the kind of place where you can strike up a conversation with just about anyone sitting around you. It feels comfortable without being stuffy or pretentious. Josh, the assistant manager, and his team are all over customer service. They're friendly, attentive and seem to genuinely enjoy making sure everyone is having a good time. The tastings are fun, the wine flows, and you get to try wines you probably wouldn't otherwise come across. The membership is pretty reasonable too. You can also order food from the restaurant next door, and they occasionally have a food truck, so you can easily make an evening of it. To me, Beaker & Flask is kind of like having a secret living room where you can hang out, meet interesting people, drink good wine, and best of all, you don't have to clean up afterward. The only problem with writing this review is that I really don't want too many people to know about it. Because if everybody finds out about my little secret, I'm going to have to fight you for a seat.

My boyfriend got a cappuccino with strawberry syrup but we didn't really taste the strawberry in his. Regardless, it was delicious. We also got one of their biscotti which seemed like they made in house but I'm not sure. It was yummy, but definitely was not a very traditional recipe. It tasted more like a short bread than a biscotti but still very yummy. We walked out to the food truck to get some vegan bites and they definitely met expectations. The crabby patty was delicious with a great texture, and my boyfriends patty melt was also super good. We shared a mac and cheese and honestly I was full before we even got to that. The Mac and cheese was great but did taste a lot like coconut so if you're not into that then maybe veer away. The ambience was a mixed bag. The initial shop that you order the coffee in had a very cozy vibe with great decor. If you walk past the patio into the overflow seating the vibe changes a ton. The decor felt very uncanny valley, back rooms, like very odd. I think they need to work on that side of the property a little bit and make it more cozy. Maybe it's a work in progress or maybe they like it that way, I'm not sure, but it wasn't the sort of vibe that made me want to stick around. Overall great experience though! Will be coming back & hopefully I can get seating in the main shop ;)

I did told them i touched it since i thought it looked like my dish with the scallops yet the waiter still picked it up and serve to another table. Our food also took a long time to come out..water took a long time to get refilled along with the napkins and our wine did not come out until way later. Third, our bill was messed up as well. So definitely be cautious. Also, pro tip is it is cheaper if you pay in cash. We did try new stuff such as kangaroo tartare..definitely was a hit but crab fondue was ok as well as the pastas. You could definitely make them at home. The lobster pasta was too overpowering with garlic and there was barely any duck in the duck and pork pasta. For Ocala, i would say okay if you wanted to give fine dining a try. I just would not be back due to how we were treated, all the mess ups and underwhelming food for what we paid for. I do have to give props to the scallops. It was nicely cooked ( still soft, and could melt in your mouth).

Parking is available on the side of the restaurant, although the 1 available spot had an employee squatting down cutting rosemary from a bush. We waited several minutes to give the employee time to finish, but he never acknowledged us or offered to move for a moment. Eventually parked elsewhere, but was a bit concerned about the rosemary that might b in r dish. Love they grow their own herbs, but this rosemary is next to all the car exhaust and where someone might dump their leftover drink or let their dog go potty. Eek. A raised planter or gated area for herbs would b better. Inside, decor is ok but could use some elevating to make it more inviting and upscale. Loved the live music - had a duo playing jazz. There's also a bar available if u prefer that to table dining as well a an outdoor patio. We chose inside seating at a table. It's sort of set-up like an old house so we were in the back room with maybe 4 other tables. Server was not very personable, but fine. Ordered Caesar salad, duck risotto, rack of lamb and souffle. All was okay, not great but not bad. Appreciated that the meats were not gamey so seemed of good quality. Cook was as requested. Presentation was nice. Flavor was lacking on both meats as well as the risotto and couscous. Caesar was very basic and average but appreciated lettuce was fresh. All food was delivered surprisingly quickly. Indicated r interest in souffle when ordering and was initially told it would b blueberry caramel. He then returned to tell us that's incorrect - it's strawberry pineapple. However, the server never put in the souffle order so we ordered the strawberry pineapple souffle after finishing r meals (and sitting with empty dishes in front of us for awhile) while people kept walking past us. Not a problem. It arrived and wasn't actually the correct flavor. We weren't picky so we ate it but he never addressed it, apologized, asked if that was okay. It was just a bit odd. We made reservations on Open Table for our party on Tuesday night. When walking in, the interior is mainly red and black coded with French paintings and spirits on display. We got to meet one of the owners at the hostess stand and she spoke with us briefly and was very nice. They were not a lot of people here so it was kind of quiet with some light background music. My family glanced over the menu and ordered some appetizers like the crab stuffed shrimp and the escargot. The waiter was an older gentleman and could've been more friendlier or attentive to our table. We were offered bread which was soft and good. The apps came out and were just ok. The shrimp was pretty plump and fresh tasting, where as the escargot were ok. They were chewy but very overpowered by the garlic butter. We waited for at least another 25 - 30 minutes before our dinner came out. Our waiter did not inform us of any updates of our food, but we watched him laugh and talk with other tables in the dining room. As we got our food, he did not ask if we needed anything or everything was ok. My dad's beef bourguignon was very dry and the sauce had a burnt taste to it. My mom's grouper, she said it was good but the lemon sauce it came with was salty. My swordfish was dry and overcooked. I did like the fingerling potatoes as they were cooked perfectly and the sauce on the plate was good as well. When the waiter finally came to check in, my mom mentioned she was not a fan of the sauce on the dish and he just said oh ok and walked away. My dad mentioned it was my mom's birthday in hopes that the waiter would make up for his terrible service and food mishaps and he just said happy birthday. We were very disappointed overall as this is has a classy vibe and the prices are priced pretty high for the quality of food that we received.
