Went there with a couple of friends the sandwiches were good. The staff was excellent and the beer was cold. What more can I say?

Food: Excellent food and generous portions. The trout…read moresandwich with fries was a standout, and the fried green tomato appetizer paired nicely with the gastrique, greens, and spicy pimento cheese. The burger and tater tots were also very good. The menu offers a wide variety of specialty burgers with plenty of customization options, including grass-fed beef for a small upcharge. Fair prices for the quality and quantity of food--definitely left in a food coma. Service: Service was efficient and the food came out well-prepared. No major issues during the visit. Atmosphere: Located in downtown Dahlonega, making it easy to explore nearby shops and dessert spots before or after your meal. The tavern has a darker, eclectic vibe with artwork, punk music, and a slightly edgy feel. The décor fits the restaurant's origins and personality, though the lighting--including in the restrooms--is quite dim. Parking downtown can be somewhat difficult during busy times.

I asked for some Tabasco sauce to help make the sandwich more palatable to eat, instead of being brought a bottle like most restaurants would give you they gave me a condiment cup full of Tabasco sauce, too much for anyone to use. When the bill came for an extra 50 Cent charge for it, I didn't fight it because it was 50 Cent and I just wanted to leave, but it was frustrating. I've never been charged for condiments / hot sauce at a restaurant I'm giving two stars because the server was nice and patient while we figured out what my little one needed to order she had to come back to the table a couple times, but they should have mentioned the surcharge for the hot sauce at the time that I requested it. Would I come back here again for a meal, no. Would I consider coming back to try a cocktail, maybe, only because overheard the bartender speaking to some patrons quite passionately about the flavors which they put together so I would give this part. Another chance even though the kitchen has lost my confidence,

The Steak & Spuds fell in to my husband's mouth at a rapid pace that the song of Florence & The Machine's Dog Days Are Over rang out like an anthem. Their brown gravy is just. Like. my. Irish. My Smithwick's Irish Ale was the perfect accompaniment with the food. Our server was in training. This time we came after hiking all day and sat outside with our dogs. Ambiance-touristy Irish pub. It's a big place that still tries to be Irish-ish. They fail but it's a worthwhile effort and people seem to like it. One issue with the design-it's a huge place but they have 2-single person bathrooms-one next to the bar and one on the second floor. I don't even understand how you get a building permit with that occupancy and so few bathrooms. My wife and I each got a burger, sub veggie patty. They are getting 2 stars for the fact they don't upcharge for the vegan patty. Everyone upcharges for a veggie burger, so this is an impressive give-a-way to customers. However, I added mushrooms and roasted red peppers, which added $2 each, and gluten free sandwich bread, which was a $5 upcharge. First, those veggies should not be a $2 upcharge each. That's obnoxious. Your menu burgers have toppings and are cheaper than a plain burger with 2 veggies. But, I am not taking stars away for the upcharge. I saw them, I accepted them. My problem is that with those changes, this was a $25 burger at an Irish pub in north GA and it tasted like a $5 burger from an Irish pub in north GA. It was dry, unseasoned, and very bland. You charged me $5 for 2 slices of bread from a loaf that costs $7.99 retail. A red pepper is $0.75 cents, maybe, retail, and for a couple teaspoons you charged me $2. Who knows what mushrooms cost, but the point is, for two toppings and sub 2 slices of sandwich bread, you charged me for a high-end steakhouse burger and served me a terrible backyard grill burger. On top of that, I ordered a whiskey (knob creek) on the rocks. On my check was a $2 rocks charge. So...you charged me $2 for ice? It makes no sense. It's the same amount of liquor. When I asked the server about it, she said because they pour an extra 2 ounces in. Obviously she lied because she had no clue what she was talking about. First, why would adding ice equal and extra 2 ounces? Maybe if I asked for an up martini or something, but I am adding volume, so why would you also add liquor? Second, my whiskey was $13 and a restaurant shot is 1, maybe 1.5 ounces. Do you really mean to tell me you gave me an extra 2 shots, maybe an extra 1.33 shots of a $13 liquor for $2 only because I asked for ice? I'm not an idiot. So, poor food, lying service, and unreasonable upcharges. I'm not coming back

I have visited Montaluce Winery and Estates many times over the years, but I've always been on the move, never quite able to pause and soak in the full experience. This past weekend, while celebrating my birthday, my friends and I decided to change that. After a refreshing hike through the stunning property, we finally made time to stop in and it was everything I hoped it would be. The moment you step inside, you are transported. The interior aesthetics are absolutely gorgeous. There is a distinct, charming, and "campy" vibe that feels incredibly rustic and upscale at the same time. The taxidermy animals mounted on the walls add such a unique, authentic touch to the space. It's the kind of place you just don't find in chain restaurants. There is just something about a good wood-fired pizza that is unmatched. You can taste the quality and the craft in every bite. I ordered the classic Margherita pizza, and it was exactly what I needed after hiking. It was fresh, bubbly, and perfectly charred. To round out the meal, I paired my pizza with a glass of their signature apple wine. It was the perfect crisp accompaniment to the meal, capturing the essence of the Georgia mountains. Surrounded by real friends who truly celebrate you is a blessing within itself, and Trattoria di Montaluce provided the perfect backdrop for our birthday festivities. It's the kind of place where time slows down, allowing you to actually connect and enjoy the company you're with. If you find yourself finishing a day of wine tasting and hiking, and you think you might not have room for a full pizza, do not let that stop you! Order it anyway and take it home. Your future self will absolutely thank you for that delicious, wood-fired treat the next day. Whether you are a local or just visiting the North Georgia mountains, make sure the Trattoria at Montaluce is on your itinerary. It is a quintessential experience that I am so glad I finally carved out the time to enjoy. #DahlonegaEats #Montaluce #WoodFiredPizza #GeorgiaWineries #YelpElite #BirthdayCelebration #AshSaidIt #NorthGeorgiaLiving #ItalianDining #FoodieLife

For people very fit it could be ok, but not appropriate or worth it for older people or those who really enjoy hiking. Constantly looking at the minimalist trail watching out for debris on the trail. Not comfortable hiking. Cheesy at best. The dinner was served in a cafeteria type atmosphere with a long line of TVs. Service was sketchy at best, and the food was just OK. Noisy. The wine tasting was ok. I would find some place else.

It's not super easy to find! Dahlonega has lots of interesting twists and turns and back alley shops and some shops blended in so well with other places, that a random door opens up to more unique experiences. So, that's how we found this place. We were waiting to get our names in for Bourbon Street Grille, and this random door behind us boasted wine tasting. I thought it was just a one room deal behind us. When you see the door and the shop, you'll fully understand. If you like wine, this is worth it and a MUCH better deal than the Wine Festival (which is what we came for). It's not a big place and technically only has about 8 seats at the bar for tasting. Thankfully, it seemed all the festival goers didn't know about this place (bc it's totally a Harry Potter hidden type of deal) so we got 4 seats. The kids roamed around the shop while we tried wine. The flights are $12/$16 based off the wines you want. They have white, red, blended and rose. Oh, check in on Yelp and receive one free taste of any wine (I used mine)!!! I did the Rose, Merlot, Vidal Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and the Petit Manseng. Loved the Merlot (had a spicy after taste) the most! Then the Pinot Grigio. The Petit Manseng is their strongest wine but was my least favorite. However, I tasted the Trillium from someone else's in our group and LOVED IT. We ended up buying a bottle of Mtn Harvest Red plus the Apfelwein (the lady described it so well and made us want to get a bottle). I can honestly say I had such a buzz from the flight that I stopped drinking when we went to go eat. The wine was really good and certainly hit, so be careful! Totally worth checking this place out, if you can find it!!!
