    Andy's Club

Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered the Andy's Club - turkey, bacon, avocado and swiss. All the ingredients were fresh and flavorful, especially enjoyed the bread. The service was wonderful, will definitely be back!

I used to regularly come here for my sandwich fix when I lived in T.O. But since moving to Ventura, I hadn't been back. Was so happy to be in the area today when they were open. I got my favorite sandwich, which they now call "Vicken's Super Club" aka roast beef, cheddar, avocado. I always get it on a croissant as well. $15 out the door with the .75 cent upgrade for the croissant. A little on the pricier side but with how good it is, it is worth it. Everything was as fresh and delicious as I remember and they were generous with the avocado - truly cannot think of a single thing that would have improved it. I so wish I lived closer so I could enjoy this sandwich more often! The owner, as always, is very friendly and welcoming. So many cool imported european products to look at, mostly sweets and chocolates. Big selection of chips too to go with your sandwich. They also had some fresh baked pastries like a poppy seed coffee cake that looked good. Highly recommended!

I really like this place, I know it's been here a long time, but it's one of those local places I overlooked until one day I decided I was just craving a solid and straight forward sandwich which is surprisingly hard to find out here. The individual who manages the deli is very nice. This time I got the NY deli special sandwich which includes pastrami on the and I had everything on it. The pastrami is really good quality and we've found that each time we've visited the quality of the food is always better than you'd expect from a small deli. They also have various items and drink options you can try. I do think it's cash only, so grab a good amount of cash. A half sandwich is probably about $10 and a full sandwich is about $15 depending on what you get. Definitely a nice place to grab a sandwich for lunch or to bring on a picnic.

Great sandwiches, mushroom barley soup was made from scratch and had so many mushrooms.

This place is pretty unassuming and tucked into a strip mall. When you walk in you'll see a selection of various goods from the alpine region like desserts, beers, and dry goods. There are also a few small tables right at the entrance and then at the back is the counter to order. We've been here twice and honestly after the first time we knew this was gonna be our go to sandwich spot. The older gentleman taking our order is super friendly and offers his recommendation. Try the specialty sandwiches, they are the best.

They have their meats imported from Germany and Italian brands. They're very friendly and attentive, and the roast beef is the BEST! Even though all the sandwiches are amazing. Their service is excellent.

But it has progressively gotten worse and worse and way too expensive considering how "meh" it was. We called the night before to add one person to our table of seven. My husband corrected them twice on his name. When we showed up there the next day, they called my husband while we were there asking if we were showing up. Of course they called the wrong name! So we waited extra. When we finally ordered our food , it was not the Brent's we had come to expect. I ordered the grilled cheese I was craving for Mother's Day (it was excellent before) and it was smashed, cold and underwhelming. I didn't send it back, I should have but everyone looked extremely overwhelmed. We were also moved to accommodate a bigger party. We were not asked. We were told. That rubbed us all the wrong way. After this meal, my mother in law wanted challah, I felt like we were bothering them at the counter. The whole experience was disappointing and expensive and underwhelming. I don't think any of us will be going back any time soon.

We ordered the Lomo Saltado plate, which came topped with egg and avocado, and it was incredible. The beef was tender, the flavors were rich and savory, and everything blended together perfectly. You can tell a lot of care goes into the seasoning and preparation because every bite was super flavorful. For dessert, we had the count flan, and wow... it was the perfect way to end the meal. Smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. Warning, the habanero sauce is hella spicy. I couldn't stop sweeting (Just stick to the jalapeño sauce that they give you. My dad also liked the bathroom he said the employees must wash hands sign was very big and he appreciated it. He then proceeded to tell 2 jokes involving those signs and my sister told a story as well. My mom replaced a toilet roll in the bathroom also. I don't know how they keep all these ingredients in stock and keep the quality so high and the service so good and still send me home with leftovers! My friends and I were in town for an event in Thousand Oaks and looked up a deli. This was one of the choices, so if we went to discover what could be discovered. Low and behold, we were very pleasantly surprised by the variety and the quality and the service. Maria was our server and she was amazing and I can't tell you how she made the experience that much more positive because every answer to our questions were yes, and I'm sure we can do that. She brought out some bagel chips and ranch dressing and pickles to start with and Man if that doesn't wet your whistle and make you want to order everything, you're not doing it right. We ordered a variety of things a couple of Ortega corned beef sandwiches and a turkey sandwich and a pastrami sandwich. We paid for our orders and then landed in the bakery area upfront. Of course, all of us had to take a little something home to our husband's because we were feeling quite plump and satisfied to not share the experience with our spouses. We walked away with some blueberry pie and an eclair and some muffins and quite a bit more. We're already planning our next trip. We will be there this weekend. And as we sit here, midweek, contemplating all of the delicious options we can take advantage of, we are trying to convince ourselves whether we should go there on Thursday and Friday and Saturday while we are in town. What a delicious dilemma to have heads off to the people that run this place and make sure that the quality still goes. To be honest with you, someone wrote in another review that they were surprised at this place wasn't busy. I hope this review gets out there and people figure out what they need to do... They need to get off their butts and go to pickles deli. I promise you you won't be disappointed! Bring friends, so you can try a little bit of everything! And then plan another trip because you won't be able to try everything! Hot soft to Maria again for being super amazing!

The portions are large, but sometimes the quality versus quantity just isn't there. I've only been a handful of times, but on one visit we almost walked out because the customer service took a very long time. It took at least 30 minutes before we were even acknowledged after being seated, and that was only after I asked for water. The day we waited, it also seemed rather empty with maybe 2 other tables, which made the delay even more noticeable. I also feel like it's a bit too expensive for what you're getting, and compared to competitors it doesn't feel worth it right now. I am open to coming back in the future to try it again.
