I ordered the a small pastrami on a roll with everything on it no cheese It was phenomenal. Probably the best pastrami I've ever had. The bread and meat they use is very good quality. Plus they serve it with a nice dill pickle and man that just tops it all off. If you're even in TO and crave a great pastrami sandwich you should definitely stop here for one! I've been a fan of this deli for a while. I genuinely enjoy their sandwiches and you can tell that they care about the ingredients that they use. I want to support small, local spots like this, which is why I've come back multiple times, even after our last order was made incorrectly. To their credit, they quickly and graciously remade it without any hassle. However, with my most recent order, I unfortunately found a hair in my sandwich. It completely turned my stomach -- and my coworker's as well. This is a place we all really like to order in for work from time to time. I called to let them know, and the person I spoke with was kind, apologetic, and promptly issued a refund. They also offered to comp a sandwich next time, which I appreciated. I normally only like leaving 5 star reviews, however, after reading some similar concerns in other reviews, I felt it was important to share my own experience. I understand that mistakes happen, but food safety and cleanliness are not things that can be overlooked, especially when it comes to handling meals people are trusting to be safe and sanitary. I truly hope the team takes this feedback seriously, because the food here is good and the staff has always been polite. The person making my sandwich was incredibly friendly and took the time to tell me about the history of the deli, which has been a staple in the community for years. The bread's poor quality ruined the sandwich, even what we took home. You should either source fresh bread in two batches daily or inform customers if bread is stale and toast it. The Sandwiches here are absolutely delicious. I was shocked because I used to live in New York and loved Katz and Stage Door for their famous sandwiches and have also eaten at Langers in LA. I had no idea I could find something so delicious in Ventura County and even more delicious than the sandwiches I tried at Langers. I tried the Rhinestone Special with Pastrami and Corned beef and was blown away. These are so tasty that I'm still dreaming about them. Juicy, tender flavorful. Incredibly delicious. Also tried Liverwurst sandwich and so authentic and tasty. This place should be one of the top places to go for sandwiches in America. This is now my favorite place when I'm not in New York. Well I will absolutely never go here again. I haven't been here in a while and was looking forward to the pastrami sandwich and my wife wanted the Italian. The guy that was making the sandwich took out a giant tub of pastrami and used his bear hands to put it on a plate then in the microwave. After that he continues to make the other sandwich with his bare hands. When that sandwich was done he opens the microwave then decides to use the tongs to take pastrami off the plate because I'm guessing it was hot not for sanitary reasons. Then he proceeds to make the sandwich with his bare hands again!!! Absolutely disgusting. He did not care at all looked doped up. This place is is a health hazard or at least he is. Stay away. Sad to see a great place be this gross now. Oh and when I left he dropped the tongs he never used but hopefully he cleaned those for the next victim. read more

This was my first time here and I'm glad I checked it out. I was happy to see that they offered Dutch Crunch because the only other place I know that offers it is The Sandwich Spot in Newbury Park. This location is on TO Blvd with ample parking and is a small business. I got a large $14 smoke turkey sandwich on sourdough. I had to pay extra for cheese which I was surprised to discover because I've never had to pay for cheese - avocado add on, yes, but for cheese, it typically comes with it. When my order was ready, I was surprised at how small it looked but when I got home, the meat stack was hefty and my hubby and I were able to split it and get full. After eating it, I can't say I'm craving to come back anytime soon but if I need a quick lunch, I'll add this place to the rotation. read more

I love sandwiches and while visiting family near by I went to Yelp to find a sandwich shop. I am always looking for a new causal spot to grab food. The inside of the place has a decent selection of chips, candy and you can add potato & macaroni salad side too. I had the Roast beef and my husband the chicken salad. I liked my roast beef and had half of it for left overs and my husband ate half & my brother ended up having the rest. I would definitely check it out again, and probably just share one sandwich and get chips and a side. There were a couple tables outside and I don't think there were any inside. The prices are a bit on the higher side for delis but the portions are large with generous meat cuts! In terms of ambience and service, I love the fact that they're super friendly and always there checking in. First, Rhineland Deli is only open during the day so check the times before heading there. I was looking for a French dip and German potato salad around 6:30pm and found them closed. Going back during their business hours, I had their large French dip and a Drag It From The Garden sandwiches. Both were very generously big and full of fresh veggies and tender lean roast beef. It's a small storefront with a number of German food items, such as a few varieties of bottled pickles and mustard and cookie/candies. All the service is knowledgeable, helpful on menu selections, and quick to service orders. Prices were fair and moderate compared to other sandwiches in Westlake and Thousand Oaks. read more

Rhineland rules. Great sandwiches, friendly people. My favorites are the Roast Beef, and the Hard Salami sandwiches (they might call it Italian Salami now). They also have great vegetarian options, and are happy to make substitutions. It's just a little quickserve place, so not much to say atmosphere wise, but overall a great place to eat. With the price of everything these days, they're not even that much more than Subway or some other chain, so why not support a local business instead? Oldest and most beloved Restaurant in Thousand Oaks! I totally love this place, the food, the staff and owners! They are killing it! I really love their new location too. MUCH better parking, it's super clean, organized and beautiful. We had a TBA (Turkey, Bacon & Avo), on sourdough, I asked them to go easy on the turkey. We had a Hot Roast Beef and homemade ranch dressing on a french roll, also asked for them to go easy on the Roast Beef. We had the famous Italian Combo Sub, also with the works. We also had a large Roast Beef on a french roll with the works, and finally some Pastrami on Rye. Everything was spectacular. This place is the real deal. The little shop is very cute and they have lots of German groceries to browse through, as well as German chocolates and interesting sodas too. I wanted one of everything. Lots of seating out on their patio, and easy access from Thousand Oaks Blvd. Hey! they're also pretty much next door to Gardens of the World too, which is an outstanding place to bring a picnic.
