Best Peruvian food I've ever had. We had such a great experience at Mouthful Eatery! The food was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. We ordered the Lomo Saltado plate, which came topped with egg and avocado, and it was incredible. The beef was tender, the flavors were rich and savory, and everything blended together perfectly. You can tell a lot of care goes into the seasoning and preparation because every bite was super flavorful. For dessert, we had the count flan, and wow... it was the perfect way to end the meal. Smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. Warning, the habanero sauce is hella spicy. I couldn't stop sweeting (Just stick to the jalapeño sauce that they give you. I like spicy so I also got the habanero sauce, my goodness!! Overall, the food was very flavorful, satisfying, and well prepared. Very good food and nice ambiance. Cool decor of flowers being in beer bottles. Service was also great. My mom quote thinks "the bathrooms are good and the server has tact" this is referring to her saying we will be back and the server saying "you better" but in a friendly way. She was friendly in other ways too in that she made small talk with my sibling and parents. The pictures are bad because we already ate them. They were very pretty coming out of the kitchen. My dad also liked the bathroom he said the employees must wash hands sign was very big and he appreciated it. He then proceeded to tell 2 jokes involving those signs and my sister told a story as well. My mom replaced a toilet roll in the bathroom also. Stopped by here because I really wanted a refreshing hydrating and homemade drink. Mouthful lemonades popped in my mind and we decided for a spur of the moment trip. We got the pineapple lemonade and classic lemonade . They were both FANTASTIC! Perfectly flavored and sweetened with the nicest staff recommending the different flavors. The store is clean, cute, upbeat, colorful and full of its own special uniqueness. They even had a board with lots of fresh daily specials. Absolutely amazing balsamic glazed salmon. My husband and I both ordered this dish and both were moist, beautifully plated, and we were very thankful that we could switch it up and added their mashed potatoes to the dish with no upcharge. The edamame bean were lightly sprinkled upon it. Our only suggestion is that there really did need to be more of a vegetable or more edamame beans. The wine only comes in cans, and that's not my speed. Also, the cans are fairly expensive for the quantity. So I switched it up and ordered their TAP IPA beer. It was all good and served promptly! This is our third repeat visit to this wonderful establishment. Our dinner evening was on wednesday evening which is their trivia night. We have frequented this restaurant since it was just a one-room diner. We love this place - the vibe, service, and food - which is why we give it two stars instead of one, despite today's appalling treatment of our family - two 90-year-olds from out of town who expressly asked us to take them to Mouthful based on past positive experiences. Today was different. As soon as our party of six had sat down, a clearly stressed-out, middle-aged employee (or, God forbid, owner) barked at us that we couldn't sit there because we were blocking some imaginary walkway. We gathered our elderly family members - one fresh out of surgery - and found another table in hope that we could now relax and catch up with our family in peace. Not so. When we were finally got tired of waiting for a sufficient number of plasticware to arrive, we walked up to get them ourselves, only for the same employee to physically step in and block our way and demand "what do you want" and "don't push me." We had to tell him twice to calm down but the employee was clearly stressed and agitated beyond reasoning, and the damage was already done. Yes, it was a fairly busy day, especially as the lunch crowd gathered inside due to the heat, but there was no justification for this strange and hostile behavior. It was unnecessary and unusual and it ruined the lunch for all of us. read more

I have been wanting to go back to this restaurant for some time now. My first experience was amazing! It was great to meet the key individuals who make this restaurant a success when I first visited this establishment. So I wanted to see if my experience was as good as the first time I visited this restaurant! As for food- this restaurant has an amazing menu of fresh foods to compliment anybody's taste ranging from chicken, pork to vegetarian dishes. You can get platters, sandwiches, salads, appetizers and more. They even have small petit sandwiches for ten dollars. Plus the restaurant offers limited alcoholic drinks. I got a bowl with pork belly that came with rice, pickled cucumbers, carrots, egg and more. The flavors were all wonderful in the bowl- but reviewing the pictures from my past experience, I noticed a significant size reduction in my bowl. And this dishes was a bit up there in price-19 dollars. The other bowls were about 15 dollars. Despite the price, as the flavors were amazing, I would come back for more! Since I visited the restaurant, some time ago, I have noticed that they are offering a lot of events. The upcoming event is for Vday dinner where its a multi course meal with jazz music for 100 dollars- I hope they dressed up the place with white table cloths as its a cafe not an upscale restaurant. We also ordered two desserts: the raspberry tiramisu was delicious, but I didn't really taste the coffee-ness part of the tiramisu, it tasted more like vanilla cake with whipped cream and raspberries on top. I'm starting to think this dish has an identity crisis - 2 stars for a perfectly cooked, juicy chicken that somehow still managed to fall flat. The pommergrante glaze was a highlight, with just the right balance of sweet and tart, but the cous cous was a one-trick pony and the other ingredients were MIA. Side of Mac n cheese four cheese blend, portobello cracklings, potato chip crust. Two stars - it was a culinary sleeping pill, technically edible but flavorlessly forgettable. Japeleno aioli is pleasant, the habanero aioli is a real hot-head - it'll have you cursing like a sailor in record time! The house aioli, however, is the real sauce of the operation - 5 stars for these incredible condiments that truly bring the heat and take home the MVP award!
